Update: today (via uber eats) I tried a new item on the menu "flavor flame tenders w/ drip sauce" and it was delicious! The tenders were crisp and perfectly seasoned which is great and dipping them in the drip sauce was an added bonus although it's not really needed. The meal came with fries and kale salad. The fries were perfectly seasoned which surprised me because I wasn't expecting it at all. Definitely ordering the fries again! The kale salad was good too. Kind of reminded me of coleslaw dressing over kale instead of cabbage. Once again, a happy customer!

This location is behind the 7 eleven upfront. You drive all the way back and find the four mile food co which is a food pick up zone having multiple restaurants. But they are not on the app, so it is best to call their number (202) 321-8057 or go to the website and place the order alexandria.nuvegancafe.com. I called the number and someone stopped by to help and collect the order. You could pay on the website or to them once they bring your food. I have been to their DC location which was fantastic. This is closer to me and I will consider doing a pickup from here if need be. Vegan with soul food is awesome. I personally do not know how much processing is done for their fake meat (drumsticks) but it tastes clean and delicious. I imagine it is home made and not super processed. Also, their sides collard greens and sweet potato are fantastic. Vegan soul food is a brilliant combination.

    Commercial kitchen, not a restaurant!

This is not a real restaurant! This is a back office type of kitchen facility that only cooks and packs the food for takeout and delivery. Don't come here unless you're an Uber Eats driver or picking up takeout!

We were seated inside, which had a decent amount of seating. I thought the restaurant was cute, and it had a nice ambience. We ordered several dishes, starting with the cajun crawfish Mac & cheese, crab stuffed oysters, and charred spring vegetables. All 3 starters were delicious, with my favorite being the crab stuffed oysters. The Mac & cheese was a close second - it was nicely seasoned and perfectly au dente. The vegetables were also very good, and the pita it came with was great. On the breakfast menu, we ordered the chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits. Both were very good. I haven't had many chicken and waffles, but the chicken was tasty with the hot honey. The shrimp and grits was very flavorful. If I had to pick one though, I would probably pick the shrimp and grits. The service was solid, she was very friendly and came back a decent number of times. I would 100% come back again!

Gorgeous restaurant. I have been wanting to visit Matt and Tony's for years but I am not often in…read morethe Arlington area. We walked in and were blessed to immediately get a table despite being told it may be an hour wait on the phone. We received a menu and ordered the breakfast burrito and the biscuits and gravy. Our food came extremely fast which surprised me and makes me wonder how much is prepped ahead. My friend received the burrito and it was very greasy so she requested to order something else. My biscuits and gravy were yummy. The eggs were cooked well and the fried chicken was the star of the show. Easily this was some of the best chicken I have had in a while. I overall enjoyed my meal but I wish there was way more gravy as there was only a little bit layered on top of the 2 biscuits. My friend was given a menu to order something else and this menu was different and had dinner options. It was 4:30 when we came and not more than 15 minutes of difference before receiving a menu the second time so we were surprised but eager to look. My friend ordered the half chicken which came with collard greens and grits. Since there was a different menu I wasn't aware of I wanted to order something additional and opted for saving the brunch meal I ordered for breakfast tomorrow. I loveeee scallops so when I seen them on the menu especially over grits I had to order it. The scallops were cooked wonderfully and I loved the composition of the dish with the creamy grits and the acid from the tomatoes and the smokiness of the sauce and grits. My friend loved the half chicken and after trying it myself we both agreed Matt and Tony's knows how to cook chicken well. The greens had nice flavor but were a little dry and needed some broth/juice from cooking. Again the grits were delicious and creamy with a bit of smoky flavor. I also had the Peso Cocktail which was sweet with a nice kick. Overall I enjoyed this restaurant and would come again and absolute what I ordered again as well. Coming here next time will be hard cause I'm definitely going to be battling between wanting what I already had and trying something new.

My wife and I were in the mood for fajitas and were looking for a different option to our usual Tex…read moreMex choices. After reading some reviews, we decided to give Dos Hermanos a try. They emphasized fajitas as being a featured item on their extensive menu, and reviews seemed quite positive, so hey...why not give it a try? We arrived around 4 and sat at the bar. We were the only customers at the time which seemed a little odd since it was a Friday and a very pleasant day outside. We were greeted by the bartender/server and given complimentary chips and salsa, both of which were quite nice. We also had basic salted rim jalapeno margaritas, which were ok. Not bad, not outstanding, they were poured out of a large plastic jug. We then opted to split the steak and shrimp fajitas with the usual accompaniment of guacamole, sour cream, cheese, tomatoes, refried beans and rice. For $28.99, this was a huge disappointment. 3 shrimp and 5 strips of thin beef with fried onions and a few peppers. The shrimp was actually tasty and very well seasoned but 3 shrimp? Please. The steak was difficult to evaluate since the pieces were so tiny. The refried beans, rice etc were fine, but the dish was overall a total disappointment and a terrible value for the price. There was only one other party of people that came in during the entire time we were at the restaurant which I feel is telling. With so many other Tex Mex options in the DMV, I would not consider returning to Dos Hermanos again.

Discovered this restaurant for Alexandria's restaurant week and really glad I found it!…read more It's a smaller space but very intimate, dimly lit, and well decorated! We were immediately greeted when we walked in and our server/bartender was extremely welcoming and friendly! We chatted for a bit and really loved the quality of service he provided. It was personable and professional. We tried the wagyu burger (perfectly seasoned and cooked, juicy!) and the hot chicken sandwich (crispy chicken, delectable sauce, overall 10/10 and a MUST). The appetizers we got Brussel sprouts (very bitter, a little soggy, overall a bit disappointing) and the ribbon fries (they were basically chips, but not seasoned or salted) topped with a mayo-based sauce that was pretty good but also pretty disappointing. We didn't have room for desserts but the main dishes and drinks were good! There is a speakeasy counterpart that is right next door with incredible cocktails. Excited to try it out soon.

Makes sense, a little more room out there anyway. We haven't been on this side of the place since it was a Sugar Shack so it was nice to see the new concept. The seats are mostly at the bar was maybe 3-4 tables around the rest of the restaurant. We got a small taster when we sat down which was really good but I do not remember what it was. The zero proof menu we were there consisted of a Blueberry, Fauxgroni, and a Honey cocktail. We got the Blueberry and Fauxgroni to start. Both were made in front of us and had very cool looking details, especially the Fauxgroni's ice cube. The Blueberry was delicious and the honey foam on top was great with it. We figured since we were there we should also grab dinner which was fully available too. Not a huge menu but had snacks and sandos with a Japanese influence. We started with the Oysters Trio and Tater Tots. The oysters came in these ceramic oysters which was pretty cool and they had an amazing flavor to them. Little sweet, little sour. The tater tots were also great because they're tater tots but the sauce really changed the flavors for us. We also got two sandos, the Hot Maple and the Miso Honey. The sandwich's were a good size. So much flavor packed in each bite. The Hot Maple had a ton of bacon jam and combined with the red onion it was a salty, sweet, sour, crunchy rich sandwich. The runny egg on top was a nice touch. The Miso Honey had a strong truffle flavor but the honey sweetness came through nicely. Also very crunchy. Lastly we got two more drinks off their regular menu, the Coffee Bean and the Hibiscus. The flavors in the Coffee Bean worked so well together. I would say it was one of the best cocktails I've had in a long time. The Hibiscus was pretty solid too but I only had a few sips. To end, as a part of our experience, we got these complimentary yuzu lime donuts. I guess as a call back to Sugar Shack maybe? They weren't bad, a little crispy but the flavor wasn't strong. Definitely a cool experience. I might not pay $20 for the zero proof experience itself but I would come back for their food and cocktails because I would say it was all on point.
