For the month of January I was a Daniel Fast. At the same time I was attending a conference which didn't have vegan options for the continental breakfast except for fruit. I found this place and was very satisfied. I ordered the half breakfast burrito (which was on the plate before this picture lol). They have two sizes a whole and half, the whole is on the line of a Chipotle burrito while the half was a standard size in my opinion. It was very filling and the customer service was great. It's a huge bowl of kale with all kinds of fun stuff that took me two days to finish! Pricey? Yeah, but the ingredients seem super fresh. Overall, it was delicious! The rest of the crew with me come here all the time. We ordered online and then came for pick up. It's a tiny place! Mostly for to-go orders. Came here after completing a cycling class for a healthy post-workout liquid meal. Got antioxidant berry smoothie with added protein since I was sick - wanted both the vitamins protein for post-workout. Drink was more sour than I expected but had a really good kick of ginger that I could feel in my throat. Protein powder was mixed in pretty well and drink was made quickly. My friend got the FIT drink, which she said was really delicious! We shared the avocado portobello mushroom panini, which was soooo good! I highly recommend trying. They will let you change to almond butter, but I recommend leaving out the maple syrup -- gives the smoothie a weirdness, like when you get a chocolate with cherry filling. 24oz is a legitimately big drink. Since everything was much more filling than expected, I probably could've just gone with one of them, but I'm so glad I got to try both! The grilling on the whole wheat tortilla made for a great crunchy bite, and the ingredients in the wrap were fresh and flavorful. The Banana Nut Overnight Oats were a pleasant treat, especially with the peanut butter and cinnamon. A wonderful fresh and healthy eats spot in DC. Not far from all of the amazing historic museums. It's a little pricy but the serving sizes are perfect and the service is quick. A small place with limited seating, beat to grab and go if you can. If you choose to stay the view is not bad for planning what's next on your trip. You have to try the fresh juices. Firstly I just want to highlight how extremely friendly the staff are. The space is very warm and inviting. Great place to grab a bite and find some solace to your experience. I personally don't like the hustle and bustle that some cafes feel like so this was perfect. Currently sitting outside and enjoying my peace. Food was just wonderful. I'm not vegan but I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast wrap. It might be strange to say but there's just a hint of salt and citrus to my wrap and it made all the difference and felt like they really put care into the making of the wrap lol. My friends and I came to city center to take pictures and of course we had to take pictures with fruitive smoothies (liquid meals). The liquid meals are actually VERY filling! All the menu items sound amazing but we ordered: 1. Coffee date: 7/10. Delicious chocolate banana flavor, but too thick in my opinion. Its thick consistency is more for a smoothie bowl, not a drinkable smoothie so it was quite difficult to drink it from the straw. 2. Peaches and greens: 9/10. Now my total came to $30.00 & I am all about paying for quality, though I think this is a little outrageous for 2 items. Prices should definitely be readjusted. Juices should be $8-10 & the wrap should be about $11-12. Aside from the pricing, the wrap was absolutely amazing!!! It had so much flavor and zest to it!! The Avocado Herb Toast was tasty and warm, and the avocado was creamy. This place certainly provided a decent amount of avocado. My favorite dish is the Maca Berry Bowl. It's a pretty large bowl with all these fresh fruits and granola. I enjoyed eating this bowl, and will definitely return to try the other bowls. Also ordered the Coconut Colada. It's a bit bland and doesn't have a strong coconut flavor considering it has the word coconut in its name. Tasted more like banana, and you don't taste the pineapple either. The District has attracted yet another new vegan/plant-based restaurant, this one a juice bar with some food items as well. It's in the CityCenter development, which still has a bit of that new smell to it. The place is quite small, and it's hard to even get in line. The people waiting in line were some of the most obnoxious customers I've seen anywhere, and after listening to people argue about tiny details of that order for fifteen minutes or so, I finally ordered myself. It still took quite a while. There doesn't seem to be much space behind the counter either, so only a couple of people were working. On the bright side, clearly they're doing decent business. I had planned to eat my acai bowl there, but I'd only gotten forty minutes of parking, virtually all of which was gone by the time I received it. The bowl itself, however, was good, and there was plenty of fresh fruit (these things are really just a way of getting people who don't eat enough fruit-which is most of us-to do so). The price was high, even for a downtown place with super-hip decor and a fake library wall for some reason. For that, I could at least expect speedier service and more food. Nonetheless, this place seems to have found a niche, and given how hard it is to find food downtown (especially vegetarian, especially on weekends when stuff is closed), I think it may last. I'd even consider coming back for some tacos wrapped in greens or something, but they'd have some work to do to convince me that their irksome inefficiency is worth it at their price point. read more

Fruitive is one of those places that I got to try a couple of times because they seem to provide healthy products (vegan). This location is in the City Center alley and the store front is nice and clean inside. Didn't get to stick around for a long time inside due to the restrictions, but had the chance to take a peek around the store. Seems like a cool place to grab a bite on a regular day. Their food is good too. I tried the southwest wrap and the southwest quesadilla for the "food" and thought they were very good considering the fact that they didn't include any meat or even cheese for that matter (I think). They were full of taste and you can't really tell if it has meat or not because there's a lot texture and flavor happening at the same time. I'd recommend this place if you are looking for healthy alternative to your regular diet. Can't say the items here are cheap, but they're not very overpriced either. read more
