Well Joe's Seafood checks every box and some others I didn't mention. The entire staff is professional, in a warm welcoming way. They ensure that your experience is a delightful one, filled with superb pampering service. And then there's the food !!! This is when I was totally floored... for starters the assorted bread basket for the table is absolutely delicious ( I literally had to force myself to stop alternating between the muffins and mini biscuits ) Since I was eating light today I ordered the seafood salad ( chilled lobster & shrimp on top ) and the salad was so fresh and had that crisp salad crunch that mesmerized my taste buds with every bite !!! DC hands down is one of the top restaurant city's in the country and Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab is a big reason I can make that statement with absolute confidence !!!

We would have been at risk of over-ordering which you don't want to do when staying in a hotel. The resto is beautiful, huge and has an excellent bar and fantastic wine list. We ordered the small fresh seafood platter which came with the most amazing selections of homemade breads and crackers I think I ate just about every type that showed up. The multigrain nut-topped cracker was heavenly, sort of an everything bagel in a cracker form, and the corn muffins were to die for!! The Florida fresh crab, oysters, shrimp and lobster were so succulent and fresh I couldn't believe it. If I ever go back to Fla or DC, Joe's will be my first place to eat dinner. ~Ms. Ali

Thank you!! Appetizers Chicken Chermoula: 5/5 large shareable portion, perfect spice and flavor with the spiced yogurt. Crispy skin! Honeycrisp Apple & Celery Salad: 4/5 fresh, nice crunch, and slight tanginess! Rhode Island Calamari: my friend had this dish and enjoyed. It grilled and not fried. Entrees Whole Grilled Branzino: 4/5 crispy skin, perfectly flaky fish. The fish itself does not have much seasoning flavor, but the bed of capers and a squeeze of lemons is good. Double cut Lamb Chops: again, my friend's order but I tasted and it was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful! 51st Century Cocktail and Cry My Eyes Out Cocktail both tequila 5/5! It is so good that we ordered an extra one just to take home. This place never disappoints. Definitely a go to spot for consistently great food and service.

We love their crabs and especially the Clam Chowder and the BLTs - w crispy bacon and coleslaw - and don't forget to put the JO Crab seasoning on it from their shaker. Recently Yesica has done an excellent job servicing us at the bar during the day. Plenty of parking out front. Just remember it's a Crab House and the entire staff does an excellent job serving its customers. Might take awhile - but the beer is cold.

We went on Black Friday just before the dinner rush and had really great crabs. They brought us buckets and crab mallets to make our adventure a little easier! They were packed with flavor, but were slightly overcooked. We were short a crab, but we never mentioned it. At the time we got to the end it was so filling we didn't even bother. It was my niece and nephews first time having a Maryland style crab picking session. We also got the Mac and cheese (which I have to admit was way too oily), and I forgot to get a photo. We also got salads, which were pretty standard salads. As for the location, it is hidden away on a small hillside in the suburbs of DC. There isn't a ton of parking. The restaurant is unassuming. It was frigid outside, but both the "indoor" patio, with heaters was warm, and inside the restaurant. The interior is a bit "cafe" ish, with standard 2-4-6 top tables. I would say they couldn't fit more than 100 people in these two rooms at once. But don't fret, there is an additional basement and bar area! The bathrooms are downstairs on the bottom floor, so this may be something to consider if you have anyone with special needs who cannot get up and down stairs. Overall, we will definitely go back, and appreciate the space and the food. It's pretty wonderful for a quaint crab house! I've already recommended it to other folks!

The place was pretty quiet since it was mid-week and there weren't any sports games nearby. We had some wine ($14/glass), stuffies (3 for $13), Waterman's Platter ($36), and Scallops (5 for $36). Everything was very good. The scallops were served with a nice autumnal sauce and brussel sprouts. Waterman's Platter was fried oysters, fish, baby shrimp, and scallops along with fries, onion rings, coleslaw, and dipping sauce. Everything was crispy and nicely fried. The portal was large enough to take about half as leftovers. We were celebrating a special occasion and they brought over two small glasses of sparkling wine (basically half a glass each), which was nice but also a bit tacky to not give a full glass. Like, I would rather you just verbally acknowledge it and do nothing than take a half-measure like that. We had a nice time but a few things could have been better. They were out of the beer I ordered, so I went with wine. The free sparkling was originally on our bill (and billed as a single glass) but the server realized this just before I asked about it and removed it. I was excited to get a milkshake for dessert -- they used to do massive, delicious milkshakes -- but apparently they stopped doing this about a year ago, so we passed on dessert entirely. They still have a 4% surcharge; c'mon, it's far past time to drop these. Prices overall are a bit high for fairly standard food.

Outdoor seating was full, so indoor seating was offered instead, which turned out to be a comfortable and pleasant alternative. The lobster roll was flavorful, though the bun-to-lobster ratio leaned more toward bread than filling (those who know, know). It was also served cold, which was a bit unexpected. The oysters were enjoyable, especially when paired with fresh lemon. They weren't the freshest or most premium selection, and the pricing felt high for the portion size and quantity served, but they were still decent overall.
