We've had bees in the trunk of a tree in our front yard for about a year. They would buzz around and I had to be careful trimming the tree at times, but they were relatively harmless. Recently, however, there seemed to be more of them...a lot more of them...so I figured I'd better do something sooner rather than later. I called Robert Webster on a Thursday afternoon and left a message, then I followed right up with a text. I included a short video of the buzzing bees and sent it to him with a note asking for an estimate. He called me back and left a short message and then texted me back with a quote, so he was very responsive. I thought the price was extremely fair, so I texted right back and scheduled for him to come out at 8 a.m. the next morning. As I asked him to do, he texted me when he was on his way. I would say by 8:30 a.m. he was in full process and by 9:30 a.m. he was gone...and so were the bees...yay! By nature, I'm a curious person, so I asked a lot of questions and he was very nice and answered them. He was very professional, very knowledgeable and seemed to like his job. He said he only does removals in a humane manner, which was important to us, and provided a 3-month guarantee on his work. He said there might be a few straggler bees for a week or two, and there were, but two weeks later the was no sign of any bees. Fingers crossed. Around 2pm, my mom saw a beehive starting to form when earlier in the day there was nothing. Thank God for Robert at Webster's Bees! Two days ago I was watering the backyard, and I saw a "large softball / small melon" size hive of bees by the exterior garage eaves. I called Robert, and even though it was after 5pm, he picked up and said he would come the next day at 10am. It had been 3 years since he first came out. And before he removed the new cluster of bees, he did a yard patrol of where he removed bees from 3 years ago. He pointed out that a new batch had come back (though not a full colony like last time - which was 40-50 pounds of bees!). He said it was about a basketball size hive of bees. This time, he did not have to remove all the fence boards, because there was no honeycomb there yet. He drilled holes in the fence and vacuumed them out, to be delivered to a bee keeper later that evening. He sprayed Copper-Green Brown, which repels them. They were attracted to come back in the first place by the smell of bee urine. I bought a gallon of Copper-Green Brown at Home Depot for $30.57 including tax, and a good Zep spray bottle (not the cheap ones at the dollar stores). Eventually I will have to replace all those scented fence boards, but until then, I can periodically spray Copper-Green Brown. Attached is a photo of him pointing to the drill holes. The area above him is where he removed the fence boards three years ago to remove the colony and honeycomb. He did everything in less than an hour. I cannot recommend Robert strongly enough. So the last time I had Robert out here, as all customers do, ,I thanked him and told him I hope to never see him again. So much for that plan. Today at 11:30am bees swarmed my front porch. By 12,, I was in contact with Robert. He told me 2 hours. By then the bees had settled into a nice ginourmos hive, and he arrived in 2 hours and 10 minutes. I was a long time client of Webster's Bees, sent him many new clients and even wrote him excellent reviews in the past, but at this point I'm am so disappointed in his behavior and lack of professional courtesy. I had a huge painting project planned for months, and I knew about a section of the roof that had a bee issue so I contacted Robert again because I knew him and trusted his work. He booked an appointment with me for 6/13/23 at 8am. Then, he sent me a message on Monday 6/12, asking to reschedule his appointment for Thurs 6/15 between 8-10am. I said ok for Thursday, but that morning, it was raining. So, being concerned for his welfare, I contacted him to tell him it was raining and he suggested changing the appointment again to Saturday 6/17 at 8am. No problem. I wanted to be accommodating. That Sat. morning, he didn't show up. I called him, concerned that something was wrong or something had happened to him. No response nor call back. I left several concerned messages, for days no reply, no call back , no text, no response. I honestly thought the worst and was sincerely worried. A week went by, still no reply but I called one final time and he finally picked up the phone. I asked him if everything was okay, but he seemed confused and said that his wife told him he needed to get an MRI for his rotator cuff/shoulder, and he'd be unable to do any work. Seemed like a very odd response, especially since he never even called me back to tell me he couldn't make the appointment or even apologized for missing it. I felt like he picked up the phone by mistake and was just trying to avoid the job....but why would anyone do that? But I gave him the benefit of the doubt and wished him the best in the recover of his injury. I asked him if he had another person he could refer and he sent me the name of another person, who also never replied to several phone calls. I even let him know that his referral was not replying and if he could refer another person? But no response. I was perplexed and very frustrated because I needed to have the bee issue resolved before the start date of the painting project, but that never happened. The project has started and I still don't have this bee issue resolved, so I went onto yelp to find another person. However, I now see, from the dates of his most recent reviews, that Robert was working all along. Robert, If you didn't want to do the job, why didn't you just tell me the reason? Or say you're too busy or you don't want the work? I don't understand why you feel that you can just avoid a loyal customer's calls without any response It's very unprofessional behavior on top of a lack of courtesy for your customers time. I've used your services since 2011 and have sent you many referrals and honestly don't think I deserved to be ghosted like this....so hence this bad review. read more

I'm so happy to have found Webster's Bees! Maybe 2 months ago I contacted Robert to help remove a hive from inside of a newly acquired building. He was extremely knowledgeable and was able to estimate how long the hive had been there, sure enough after talking to some neighbors they confirmed that it had been there for about 10 years!!! Robert quickly got to work tearing down a section of the wall to access the hive, he explained the process and I gave him the green light to remove as much wall as needed. Shortly after removing as many bees as possible for relocation I saw and heard the GLOBS of honey, honey comb and rot being scrapped out of the walls. I couldn't believe how much there was, he even said he found a lizard! After he was done he cleaned it all up and took it with him to discourage more bees from being attracted to the scent and coming back.
