This review is specifically for Shem. For a little over a year now I've had to live under the tyranny of ATT internet, and everything that comes with that. I had, had WP before and loved the crap out of it. Streaming 1080p while downloading movies, while gaming online, not a problem. Alas I moved. I wrote Shem OVER A YEAR AGO, and he still came through, a few weeks ago he gave me the good news that WP had come to my building. I'm getting hooked up tomorrow morning. If that isn't killer customer service with a smile, I don't know what is. Thanks again, so glad there are good ISP alternatives out there like y'all. read more

Installation was on-time and the guy was a joy to work with (thanks, Steve!). No, I'm not getting 200Mbps upload and download, I'm *only* getting about 140 if I have a wired connection to the router and maybe a bit less if I'm connecting over WiFi, but SERIOUSLY? After 25Mbps down and 5 Mbps up on Comcast, this is AMAZING. TV episodes that used to take a half hour to download on iTunes now take 3-5 minutes. This service just rocks. Do it. You'll be glad you did. read more

I just had WebPass installed in the new Vida apartment complex in the Mission. I booked an appointment on the phone and they didn't give me the usual 4-6 hour window (like Comcast), but an exact time. The tech, Ron Brown, showed up 20 minutes early and texted me. AMAZING! Ron came in, explained everything I needed to know, installed webpass and had me running at over 100MBPS in about 20 minutes. I'd hugely recommend both Webpass and Ron. read more

We were so excited to leave Comcast for WebPass. Mike was fast and efficient! We had a hiccup on connecting with our router but that was completely our fault (we used the wrong power supply cable, sorry Mike!). Now we have over 200Mbps download and incredible over 300Mpbs upload! Thank you WebPass! read more

Webpass - Speed test - Internet Service Providers Near Me

Blown away by the speed, simplicity, and performance. 100Mbps up and down. No modem. No contract. No bundles. One price. Best decision I've made all year. Shout out to Victor Tam for getting me set up. He showed up early and had me running with no hassle in 10 minutes. Don't overthink it. Just sign up for Webpass already. read more

I want to put aside the fast Internet without hidden charges and talk about the service of VICTOR TAM who was a super professional and beside the fast technical work he also halped me with the chromecast connection and even halped me with some boxes of a delivery I got! (new apartment). Thank you Victor! read more

We just had Webpass installed over the weekend. Steve, the technician showed up on time, and was patient when my husband and I fumbled through the house to find the right jack. Once the installation was complete, we were shocked to see how much faster the connection was over Comcast. Great customer service and super fast internet connection! read more

100 Mbit down, 100 Mbit up, 20 second install, and a friendly helpful tech named Victor. Love webpass. Moved away for 2 years, so freaking excited to have them back in my life. read more

Have had Webpass for over 3 years now and love it. Connection is fast, they're super reliable and responsiveness and price are great. Only can hope that wherever we live next will have Webpass as an option. Definitely recommend them if they offer service in your area. read more

Starting my second year of Webpass after moving. Likely to be the best internet provided in SF (if your building has Webpass). Example of their customer service: realized on Saturday night that I wanted my internet transferred to my new apartment. Booked an installation time for that next day at noon. Person came on time, installed in under 20 minutes, and the speed was 2x higher than the listed speed (200 listed, 400 received). Gave extra time at my old apartment just in case we had to use the internet there during the move. Doesn't get better than this! read more

I cannot expect more for an ISP. All I expect is: 1) Customer service :Appointment can be scheduled on next day when you submit the request online. Doug(Technician) arrived on time and set up everything patiently. Doug also spent around an hour with me to troubleshoot the issue until it finally works. 2) I've never experienced such fast network surfing anywhere except in my office. The download speed is more than 100Mbps if your router is good enough. Upload speed is more than 60Mbps which is way more than I expect and need. Overall, I'm lucky enough to be able to use Webpass and I won't switch to any other ISP in the future I assume. read more

I'd give it zero stars if I could. Their customer service is totally worthless. Can't help technically or any other issues. Always try to sidetrack you or pretend they don't understand your issue. Speed also could mpletely unreliable, I teach piano from home and need at least 600 MB I'm lucky if I can get 150. She metimes down to 13. STAY AWAY. read more

I live in a building that provides Webpass and I must say, if it wasn't free, there would be no way I would be using it. It's unreliable - every 2-3 months you can expect service to be out for the entire day. The worst part is that they take hours to address the issue and the hold time when you call support is a minimum of 40 mins. Leaving a voicemail is meaningless, they will get back to you the next day if you're fortunate. Pretty much unacceptable all around. read more

Ok, I'm impressed. Maybe I'm used to the crappy service from Comcast and Att&t but these guys are truly awesome. I signed up online and received an appointment for 9am the next day. At literally 9am on the dot my door bell rings and the installer is there. Within 20 minutes I had blazing fast internet! If this service is available in your building you should absolutely sign up. Buh bye Comcast ! read more

If you live in San Francisco or in another city that Webpass serves, you should check if your apartment building or neighborhood has a Webpass connection. If you can get Webpass, its hands down the best Internet service provider in the Bay Area ... and perhaps in America. The positive reviews are not an exaggeration. Customer support and customer service are excellent. Download speeds and upload speeds are excellent (I get 70mbps down and 20mbps up ... and that isn't a fluke since everyone reports great performance). And unlike Comcast, the download speeds translate to outstanding realtime HD video from websites like Netflix, Youtube, Hulu, etc. Webpass DOES NOT have problems delivering video from Internet video providers. They don't make lame excuses about their equipment being overloaded. They do not throttle. They just get the bits from the source to your house. If you are a gamer, again, Webpass is amazing. I routinely get pings less than 20ms to game servers. Your 500ms pings to game servers should be a thing of the past if the game servers are in a location with good Internet service. Finally, if you ever have a disconnection or slow down problem and you call Webpass, you will get a real human on the line talking to you, and they will solve your problem. When you need to get a technician to hook up a new connection, they show up on time, and get the job done in like 10 minutes. Webpass shows that its possible to run a business that provides value for money in the Internet business. 4/29/2017 UPDATE I've had Webpass for about 4 years now. I routinely get 90Mbps down/80 Mbps up. I can stream 4K video in realtime most of the time, and 1080P video even in the busiest evening hours. No problems with YouTube and Netflix. However, in recent months we have been seeing a tiny bit more buffering on HD video streams. It's hard to tell if its a service side issue or a problem with Webpass. I was hoping to see a big leap in bandwidth after Google bought the company, but so far no material change. read more

Fast easy online (via phone browser) setup to get the ball rolling. On time installation. No hassles at all. Webpass is the first ISP I've had since the 90s where I felt they actually cared about getting customers what they want with no BS. If I could suggest one thing for them it would be to find a way to offer neighborhood wifi to provide service to people not lucky enough to live in a big complex. Sure, it wouldn't be as fast as the fiber. But I'd guess it would be better than most DSL or cable modem service and could probably be done relatively inexpensively. It seems like many people I know use wifi for everything despite its limits so who knows! read more

Okay, they've now officially won me over. It's been several months of consistent service, fast speeds, inexpensive (priced right) services - I'm a fan. Sure, I get the occasional "we'll be working on the system next Friday" emails but the down times are at 3am for 5 minutes, and you know what? I am pretty damned sure I can live with that. Thanks Webpass for beefing it up and brining the reliability. xo W read more

Beware Webpass! It's been sunny, not a hurricane in sight, but my Webpass service has now been out for 18 hours without explanation. Webpass will not answer their customer service line, at any time of day. When I submit a help request online, I just receive an email saying I have submitted a help request (totally not helpful). They have no explanation of what the problem is, what they are doing to fix it, or when my service will be up and running again. This is completely unacceptable. I am looking into alternative providers starting immediately. read more

This 5 star review is for WebPass tech, Steve Nickerson. We needed to install a couple NestCam's in the garage of our condo building which required their own router. More than just simply hooking up the router, Steve took the time to assign the correct band (2.4ghz) on the router. He also decided to learn how the Nest Cam links up to the router through the Nest app in case he got this type of request again! He worked with me to get the whole system set up, which I'm certain wasn't a requirement of this service call! All-in-all, Steve went the extra 5 miles to help us which left me feeling pretty warm and fuzzy. Love WebPass and their outstanding service! We are so lucky to be connected through this company! Also of considerable mention: Our service rarely goes down. Maybe once per year...and when it does they are on it immediately. Up/Down speeds are lightning fast and stable. read more

Holy sh÷%! Finally able to kick att and Comcast out of my life forever. 800mb compared to 5-20mbs for less money. Ron was awesome in getting me set up. Quick and super professional. The market delivers what the market demands. Thanks webpass read more

Victor Tam is my new favorite person from Webpass! He's fast, nice, smart and effective. I will definitely ask for him if I ever need someone to come over from this company. read more

Victor was on time, turn up was easy. Lots of good tips. Easy!

Victor showed up early to set up my Webpass connection and was finished in about 5 minutes. He was also nice enough to volunteer to set up my wireless router! Great service, thanks Victor and Webpass! read more

Freakin' amazingly fast service. Installation was painless, and I have only had one problem with connectivity, but only once. I am a Webpass convert! Too bad that this service is not available more widely in San Francisco, since it is superior to Comcast, in my humble opinion. read more

Webpass has been our ISP for years and they never cease to perform great customer service with friendly technicians, almost immediate response time for in home work, and professional attitudes. The wiring is immaculate and well labeled, unlike other service providers' installations. Mike B visited us today for a service call, couldn't have asked for a nicer guy to come take care of the work in our home. Then there is the signal connectivity.... it's fast, consistent and never goes out. You can't beat that, especially for the competitive price! read more

I recently purchased a condo with WebPass service. I switched my subscription over to my name and tried to prepay the the whole year for the property. They told me that I should really wait until I'd had the service for a month before doing that. I insisted, they insisted back. So I wait a month, call them back, and now they're telling me that I had to call them *before* the month was out to get the month credited. They were not able to offer that little bit of credit even though it was clearly their fault. That's bad customer service. read more

If you're in San Francisco and you're not using Webpass for your internet connection you may be doing something wrong. Great price and connection speeds! Doug came over and did a very professional and quick setup/installation. An hour later and it was all done. Very much recommended. read more

190/175... the limiting bottleneck being my ancient router. Webpass has been lightning fast with flawless reliability for the past three years, these guys are simply night and day compared to any other provider. read more

Great service! Victor Tam was my installation technician. Best installation experience I've ever had. 1) Promptly on time. 2) Quick!! Was up and running with internet in 15 minutes. 3) Thorough. He didn't sacrifice quality of service for quickness. Victor had me set up in the Webpass portal, showed me how to check my internet speed, and advised me on the type of router I should buy. He even offered to come back and set the router up if I needed help, since it hadn't yet been delivered. read more

I would give this 4.5 stars if I could but I think 4 stars is fair. Installation: I ordered this on their website and I think installation was 2-3 days later. Installer was personable and knowledgeable, took maybe 30m total. Speed: I have the 100Mbps service. Now I didn't actually expect to get that level of speed, but I would say the effective speed is closer to 20-50Mbps on average (with upload faster than download almost always). Sure, if you use speedtest.net, it will use a server in San Francisco and you may see 80-90Mbps but that is not real-world use. When I ran many speedtests at testmy.net, which allows you to connect through servers located throughout the US, I saw speeds varying from 20-80Mbps. I've also noticed a fair amount of difference in speed from during the day/early evening and late night, with significantly higher speed at night. This could be due to the setup in my building, the peering arrangements Webpass has with other ISPs, etc... That being said, some of these issues affect other ISPs (like Comcast) also. I'd say I'm getting 4-5x faster than Comcast's lowest speed tier for basically the same price or cheaper. That is friggin' awesome. I work from home (VPN and remote desktop) and I have not noticed *any* connectivity issues in my first month of service. Support: I haven't needed any technical support but the customer service for billing has been prompt and friendly. read more

I have been using webpass for 2.5 years now. Service is very good. The service personel respond quickly, sometimes within hours. When I sign up thru internet, I got phone call within an hour and was able to make appointment for the next day. Speed is fast I got 100mbps constantly. My router maxed out at 35mbps (old cheap router) If I plugin using cable to the network port I got 100mbps! I recommend for you to get a yearly payment plan (It is cheaper by almost 20% than if you pay monthly) read more

I wanted to extol the Web pass technician, Mike, who just helped my Mom I resolve a connectivity issue months ago. He was affable and patient while explaining the connectivity issue we were having caused by the multiple wireless routers my mother had in her house. He was courteous despite the ruckus my Mom's dogs were creating. Additionally, when he was running 20 minutes late, MIke texted me twice so we knew when to expect him. read more

Hands down the best installation of service I've ever seen. We moved a week ago and we tried getting Comcast out to hook up our internet but no appointments for a week out. On the day the Comcast technician was absolutely clueless and started saying we needed to get new wires?!? We then found out Webpass was recommended in the building and first off let me say talking to an actual Person was amazing! Even better, they said they could send out a tech the same day. Victor was our knight in shining armor and he was early! He had a lot of familiarity with the building and had us connected in no time. On top of that he helped us program our router! Having someone with his level of experience and knowledge was such a life saver. Webpass you have one heck of an employee! read more

I live in a loft with other unit owners. I first heard of Webpass two years ago through some web search. Back then Webpass already had great reviews on Yelp. It took me two years to get the board members to switch various internet service providers to Webpass (some unit owners had their internet bundled with TV and phone services with another ISP and refused to change). Finally, we passed the vote and Webpass came and completed the installation within two weeks. We are now running super fast and steady internet speed for 1/2 the monthly cost from the previous service providers. Webpass team is super friendly and informative. My unit was installed by Tim Konanski who was very professional and knowledgeable. For those of you who are fed up with costly and unstable ISP with poor customer service, I highly recommend Webpass. read more
