Thomas is an asset to AT&T! Sunday I found our service on the ground, 1 call and 45 minutes later Thomas called and said he be there in 30 minutes, right on time! My wife and I found Thomas to be very punctual, professional, and patient. We were very impressed.. It was very thorough and knowledgeable and relayed information to us very clearly. So I work out of the house and require internet. My daughter is a student and my wife works out of the home as well. So we decided to up based on ATT recommendations. 1) they showed up 6 hours late 2) set off my fire alarm 3) left and within the hour it stopped working when it was running fine before the "UPGRADE " call 4) that was yesterday now today we were on hold 3 hours then called back to finally get ahold of someone with no real solution other than a wait longer than a week. Finally the CSR asked if I would like to talk to a manager when I waited 10 additional minutes to get hung up on. 5) currently been. On hold .... 6) worst customer service ever we are changing service providers and you should too!!! read more

It is a scam. I was a Verizon customer, and AT&T told me that if I switched to AT&T, they would pay off my remaining Verizon balance, up to $800 per line. Because of AT&T's delays in processing the reimbursement, I had to pay off the Verizon balance myself. Eventually, I received the reimbursement in the form of AT&T reward cards, but I was not aware that the cards would expire within six months. Now that I am asking AT&T to renew or reissue the unused reward cards, they are refusing. Their response is simply that, according to the terms and conditions, expired reward cards cannot be renewed or extended. This is extremely frustrating. The offer was presented as AT&T paying off my remaining Verizon balance--not as a reimbursement that I could permanently lose if I failed to use a reward card within six months. I switched carriers based on this promotion and paid the Verizon balance out of pocket while waiting for AT&T to fulfill its promise. read more

WORST customer service EVER!!!!!! Do not use them for business. There is no tech support at all. Trying to register an account online so we can have access to our statements. We have spent more than 5 hours and were told they cannot help us. read more

UPDATE: Internet went down in windstorm in April of 2026. Would have taken AT&T over a week to arrive. They didn't. (They often don't show up in the Outer Sunset section of San Francisco, then blame the customer.) Though no repair was made, and I didn't have AT&T Internet for over a week, they charged me full price for the entire month. Have had other gross overcharges in the past - including with an old landline they kept charging me for calls on I'd never even heard of! And I was told to bring a burned-out modem to a location on Market Street in San Francisco that subsequently said they'd never received it back. Don't trust or believe them. And don't bring a modem into a store. Get a shipping label and address from them and return it to that address via Fed-Ex. ( read more

I KNEW IT! I pulled up to my 84 year old mom's house in Rancho Cordova, CA and an ATT person was there in person telling my mom she HAD to accept their new broadband high speed service (new wiring to her house.) One week after their install... ZERO service for four days and no fix in sight. Absolutely horrible Ai only customer service for the first 2 days and then someone who could only schedule a tech. Then a tech who could not fix the problem , "oh I think it's the controller/relay from the other block, I will put in a work order." Shame on you ATT; the entire street has been in disarray with broken pavement for two years and this is the outcome? Stay away from my mom, you bad predatory company! read more

The service repair tech, Jay-Jay in the San Francisco Bay Area is DISHONEST and did NOT do his job!! We had a repair ticket open up for our house land line phone to be serviced because of no dial tone and one ring tone, we purposely cancelled ALL our appointments so someone was home for his visit because the house is equipped with an alarm, but he did NOT show up for the promised time. All our follow-up actions failed after numerous attempts trying to find out when he would show to make up for his "no-show". We finally got his report from the service department saying he had written down that he could not get to the phone box at our house as "a legitimate excuse", NOT TRUE at all because we WERE at our house all day that day!! We are leaving AT&T because of Jay-Jay and HE does need to be retrained fully to do his job ethically!! read more

If you want to start your day off the worst way possible try calling AT&T customer service. You will be greeted with a stupid AI message which will absolutely not let you talk to an Agent. How may I help you today? I want to speak to an agent. Well maybe I can assist you instead. Are you calling about your phone plan? No. Are you calling about the new AT&T Unlimited Your Way Plans? NO! Texting you the new AT&T Unlimited Your Way Plan. AGENT, AGENT! I'm sorry but all Agents are busy assisting other customers. How may I help you... I finally got this resolved after 2 hours and 20 minutes. I just wanted to them to refund me for insurance that I never asked for and some other Next UP service that I also never asked for. When I got an agent I wasn't sure if she really understood me or not. Many of them seem to be reading off scripts. I guess I will have to wait until next month to see. read more

I just got internet from AT&T, it's install it yourself deal. I'm 80 years old, but used to be an IT worker some 20 years ago. It took me days and a visit from their repair man to get the wiring right. I'm scared by what I read about how bad their internet is. So far my speed test shows 50.7mbps upload and 11.7 download. I also requested a landline and wireless. After a month of waiting, neither have been ported over. They have no record of the order, so I've been paying for both providers so I don't lose my phone numbers. I've literally spent days talking to their support person who had terrible English so that I keep having to ask that repeat themselves. I spent so much time on the phone that I ran out of battery twice on my IPhone!!! read more

AT&T provides fast internet, has no annual fees, maybe you save some money. But there is a reason. Anytime I have a problem with AT&T, they can't just fix the problem and get back to me when it's fixed. I just have to continue to be transferred from department to department giving each new person all of my identifying information. When one person can't figure it out, it's transfer and wait. Hours on the phone. No compassion for the fact that my business isn't operable in the meantime and no plan to help me in the short term continue to run my business while they figure it out. They have a bad business model to help customers when there is a problem and that's the bottom line. Why can't they troubleshoot the problem and get back to the customer? Because they hope you just get tired and stop trying on your own. read more

I've been an AT&T phone customer for more the 20 years. I recently switched my internet from Google to an AT&T bundle. All went well and had service for 3 weeks. Got a text yesterday that my internet is cancelled. Spent 4 hours with customer service and got absolutely no help whatsoever from 3 different reps who barely spoke English. Had to return to the store to reapply for the entire setup and now we have to wait for a new box to be mailed to us. Noone was able to give us a reason for the disconnection. Absolute worst customer service that I have ever received, bar none! read more

The house I'm moving into has att wiring for fiber internet service. I installed the modem with the att smart home manager app. It didn't activate the internet after many attempts to troubleshoot with the att app. I called customer service and they said they would help resolve the issue. After being on hold for 50 minutes while they were apparently attempting to resolve the problem, the call was dropped on their end. Not sure where to go from here - maybe try Comcast, the other provider in our area for fiber internet service. read more

I have been forced to sit & wait for call backs, forced to sit & wait while Jose disappears for close to an hour & I'm on hold, listening to that damn Scratchy MUZAK for hour on end, with AT&T commercials saying how wonderful they are. Why a company as big as AT&T doesn't have more than on person answering the phone to help customers that need verbal help? The elderly living alone, the handicapped still need landlines. Been with AT&T since it took over Pac Bell and have never had such terrible service as this from them or any other company for that matter. Do yourself a favor, get a different company for your land line & WiFi, unless of course you like to sit for hours, (not exaggerating) waiting on HOLD! Being transferred to ? And they never answer, an hour later & I'm still waiting!!! I'd give the a minus 10 if I could! read more

Infuriated over lack of fiber internet in my home area. in San Jose California, home to over 900,000 residents, AT&T refuses to provide residential fiber to the people in my area, BUT THEY WILL AND DO provide fiber to the busniesses in my area, Meanwhile, in a small town in Arkansas, Fort Smith, with a population of just under 90,000, residents THERE, CAN get fiber through their local telecom. So while those of us here in San Jose are stuck being fleeced by Xfinity (comcast) with no other alternatives than AT&T Air which is an inferior product, this small hole in the wall town in Arkansas, has better internet options with cheaper rates than a large portion of us who live in the heart of silicon valley... it's disgusting.. read more

I have been with AT&T a long time and generally am happy. Two years ago, I exchanged my daughters phone for a "free" upgrade. It took me a couple billing cycles before I realized I was being charged for her new phone. I contacted support and they told me I had to request that a "coupon" be applied to my bill each month that would offset the phone charge. This seemed a little ridiculous that they could not just mark the phone as paid, but whatever, I had no plans to leave AT&T. Fast forward to last month when me and my daughter took our first trip to Europe. I did my research and I purchased eSims for us to use while there. It worked seamlessly for me, but her phone would not allow it because AT&T still has it locked since it is not "paid off". I did have the international plan on her phone, but I still had to pay $12 a day for her phone, where the eSim cost me $12 for a full week. It may not sound like a lot of money, but the principle that they would play this silly game of applying a coupon instead of just giving me the phone like promised. read more

Went to the AT&T store in Davis, to negotiate a long overdue upgrade from DSL. The store person suggested AT&T Air. When I asked, "What are the actual effective bandwidths that AT&T customers have received using this service, here in Davis?," the employee deflected my question and without looking at me, said "Well, it's going to better than what you're getting now." My wife was there and so I dropped the matter. We took the hardware home to set up. The 'setup' video link the store gave us was to an old router, not to the combination router-modem they gave us, and so we had problems. Eventually we got it 'working.' The effective bandwidth of AT&T Air internet was horrible. The store person was wrong, the effective bandwidth was SLOWER than the DSL service we were getting rid of, not faster. Avoid AT&T Air. read more

I use AT&T through Sonic. I live in Bernal Heights. Service can only be described as abysmal. I recently talked with Somic tech support and they told me AT&T were blocking efforts by Sonic to address issues with the AT&T infrastructure, insisting on sending techs to the houses of users with problems even though Sonic knows, its customers know, I know, and presumably AT&T knows, the issues are with AT&T's infrastructure, not equipment installed at users' homes. AT&T are behaving gracefully. I am finally do frustrated that I will look for another provider over the next few weeks. read more

AT&T had contractors out to lay fiber optic cable; in the process, they DESTROYED my garden where they dug. While I understand the need to do a job, it should have been done with the minimal amount of disturbance. I lost daisies & grasses got trampled. I filed a damage claim & ATT CLAIMED the contracting company would cut a check for an estimate from a landscaper. HOWEVER, the contractor is surprisingly unavaliable & refuses to respond to my emails. I have reached back out to AT&T claims & they insist they're not responsible. Do NOT use AT&T; their t service is deplorable. read more

The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life They are only helpful when signing you up- horrible once you already have their service Signed up a month ago for internet only for my business. I never received an account # so I am stuck. I can't pay my bill , after hours on hold with customer service they can't locate my account. I've been hung up on multiple times and transferred to the wrong departments repeatedly. The sales rep put a random number on my account, never sent me my account number and did a half job when setting me up . I see why everyone says to stay away from this company . read more

I switched from Spectrum, because they are trying to sneak in higher fees without the customer noticing. AT&T ... fast internet for a good price. That's about it .. the customer service is horrible. The techs need to learn how to install properly. They tried to get me to switch my phone service, but like the other services they offer, it's only half-assed, they don't fully do everything, they only do just enough. I'd rather pay more with someone else, than be stuck with their phone service too ... because whenever you'll need help, there's not a REAL PERSON to be found! Only this a.i. that never understands the human element!! My recent internet problem ... they kept apologizing, but that's ridiculous .. it doesn't ever help anything! They needed to get my service back asap. Stop apologizing! Techs finally came out and didn't fully do the install .. only parts, so it'll probably go out again. The only thing this company was good at were their welcome gifts ... better than most , they gave 2 good gifts within the first month ... but everything else .. read more

I have been a lifelong customer of AT&T and that's saying a lot given my age of 78 years. I have always been very satisfied with my phone service until recently. On Sunday March 8 I became aware that my landline was no longer working. When I called Customer Service I was eventually informed that I would have to call on another day as AT&T has no agents to address landline issues on weekends. The following day when I finally reached a representative I was assured that my service would be restored by 6 PM the following day. When that goal was not reached I was again assured that my service would be restored by the next day, Thursday, at 5 PM. When I called on Friday I was informed that my problem was caused by an outage. That was the first I had heard that. At that point I gave up on customer service and sent an email similar to this complaint to John Stankey, CEO of AT&T. As of this date, April 12, 2026, I have heard from no one in the AT&T organization and still have no landline. read more

They "brought 1gig speed" to our neighborhood high in the Oakland hills. Everything speed & connectivity has been great except the forced selection of DIRECTV. Absolute piece of sh-::t. Don't combine your internet account with a wireless account if you are not using an ATT phone, it breaks you're account login. We wanted to help my aging in-laws who were getting too old to keep track. We started paying their ATT fiber internet and DirecTV and when that worked, we added their phone bills to our Internet account, but it broke our log-in. After 1.5hrs of chating, first AI then finally a real person, he finally said the only way to get a verification number to log-in is through an ATT phone. They can't use email like they were doing before. They don't have a way to white-list me so I can get in. Now if I'm visiting I have to borrow one of their phones or if I'm not there, I have to call and talk them through how to read their message and to read the number so I can look at my account. When I'm overseas it gets harder. At least the guy was responsive through most of the very long chat. It just took a lot of probing different ways (for about an hour) before he finally said there was no way to fix it. read more

When it works it is fast. But we've had two outages over the last 6 months. The first lasted 3 days, with no calls our emails from AT&T telling us what was happening. The 2nd time, they sent a random contractor our who said that the node was down for the whole street and that the specialist that worked on this would be in on Monday because they don't work on Sundays. Well my kid has homework on Sunday, and our business has to run on Monday while they come out and fiddle on things. Unbelievable. read more

Their internet service is very poor, cuts off frequently. Rebooting does not work. I've had a number of technician visits and have had to put up with no service for as long as two days. If you are going to use the WiFi for business or school, you may want to look elsewhere. I'll be looking for another provider once I move to my new location. read more

I was solicited door to door by a young inexperienced AT&T rep for Fiber internet last Friday. I've had Fiber through Frontier at a previous home and liked it so decided to try it again with AT&T. It seemed less expensive and faster than the internet service I had at the new home. We then had a tech come to the house a few days later (Tuesday) but it was late and it would get dark before he was done and didn't seem like a good idea to climb on my roof at night, so we re-scheduled for this coming Saturday morning between 8-10 am. I received a subsequent text from AT&T confirming that appointment. But the next night at 8pm I received a text from AT&T asking why I had not rescheduled my installation appointment. I responded that we had a Saturday morning appointment, to which the text responded that Saturday appointments were not available. At that point I realized this was an AI bot responding. I subsequently attempted to call AT&T directly, call the original sales rep, and call the installer who came and re-scheduled the appointment. I spoke to the first two and left voicemails and sent texts to the installer. I've received no response, but did receive another generic text asking why I've not rescheduled the appointment. In response I've canceled the installation and the account altogether. I can only assume that AT&T could not be expected to provide anything but terrible service based on these initial experiences. I would in no way ever recommend them. I hope that some other provider would offer fiber service but AT&T will not get my business. read more

They charged me twice by mistake through auto pay then said that it'll take 8-10 business to reimburse me/before the refund goes back to my bank account. That is all the money I had to live off of for another week and a half. Now I t eat even get to work unless I walk for an hour each way. I'm disgusted! read more

I never thought about writing this about a company but I have to say that I am disappointed with At&t internet, I requested my internet from At&t on 2/7 with installation scheduled for 2/17 and when it arrived on the 17th I was told that there was no a connector on the network then it would be impossible to complete the installation on that date. I really understand, so they asked me for 3 to 4 days to do this service and due to the upcoming holiday, it wouldn't be possible to anticipate the service either. so after a week waiting for the installation of the connector that would actually bring the network to my house, I received some calls to access my backyard and finish the tests, which were completed successfully. Then my scheduling saga began to complete the installation and the technician's visit was scheduled for 3/1 and it failed, it didn't come, it was scheduled for 3/2 via central and it failed, so I appealed and asked almost begging that I need the internet for work and for my children's social use, so it was rescheduled for 3/4 and and and it failed, no technician showed up, no one called, no news, so I couldn't resist and begged the center to send me the technician on 3/4 it's nothing. ok, the attendant convinced me that on the 3/5th a technician would come to my house and finish the installation . What are the chances of this working? I don't think it's right to be treated this way and what makes me saddest are the days of lost work waiting for the technician who never came and this just makes me sad. read more

We had AT&T U-verse internet. It was not great but it worked and was priced right. We tried AT&T 5G but after the trial period our download speed was less than 10mbps and the upload speed was less than 1.0. Compared to the stated 100 down and 10 up this was terrible. Two calls to technicians did not help. Nor did a replacement HUB. The second tech explained the tower was at capacity, so speeds were impacted. Also, the one AT&T 5G tower was not positioned well for our getting a good signal. This is odd as we got a good signal during the trial. We were told we cannot go back to U-verse Internet as it is being phased out in favor of 5G. They should have more towers in place to handle the traffic of people moving onto 5G if that is the plan. We tried T-Mobile 5G, it is consistently delivering around 200mbps down and 30bmps down. There are three towers in our area so the traffic seems to be handled well. The price is about the same so why put up with AT&T? read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, really, truly horrible. Horrifically horrible. Don't believe what the representatives tell you! I was ensured by the representative on the phone a year ago that my rate is locked at the rate of 69.99, and will never change. I occasionally open my account and what do I see? The rate is increased without any notifications. I hope I will be contacted for this dishonest manipulation with the bills. read more

Turns out that the frequent internet outages at night were due to the temperature get cooler. I never would have guessed that. I have Spectrum now (way too expensive just for internet and the price is always going up). I hope the temperature changes aren't causing outages for AT&T's customers still. read more

8/13/2023 The AT&T technician was supposed to come today from noon to 4h00 PM. He never arrived. He called me in the morning twice for having an opening and I declined not to change the appointment changed for earlier. We agreed for 4h00 PM. He never showed up and I was on the phone glued from 3h30 PM to 6h00 PM with different supervisors all promised that he will still come today. Ruined my day! Now is scheduled for tomorrow same time. Shit! All my complex moved with Comcast. Both belong to the same category of shit. read more

We had AT&T fiber 5Gb service for about 9 months. The internet service itself was actually fairly good; there had only been 1-2 service interruptions. But everything else was less than desirable. First, when the modem/gateway died in late September, we went to the AT&T store for a replacement, only to be told that they didn't carry the equipment in the store, so we had to call for a replacement to be shipped. That took 3 days, which was shorter than expected but nonetheless unacceptable for lack of internet services for even 1 day because we work from home. With so many AT&T stores around why couldn't they carry some replacement gateway/modems? Second, when we decided to cancel the fiber service out of necessity, the experience was even worse. Our service period normally ran from the 11th of the month to the 10th of the following month, with AT&T autopaid from our bank on the 1st in the middle. We called on Sep 30 to cancel the service, and was told that the service could only be canceled on Oct 10. We agreed even though we wouldn't have used any fiber service from Sep 30 to Oct 10. Our bank account was charged on Oct 1, but that was not the end. Yesterday, we received another bill for Oct 11 to Nov 10 and was notified that our bank will again be charged on Nov 1. So, we called AT&T (the 3rd time) to ask why another month of service while our account was already closed on Oct 10. The rep told us that we will receive a refund afterwards. So, at least a month of interest-free loan to AT&T??? The rep first defended the new bill crossed because we chose to cancel the service on Oct 10. I said no, AT&T forced us to cancel on Oct 10; we wanted to cancel it on Sep 30. Later, even the rep himself felt our experience unreasonable and helped us cancel autopay so we won't lose more money on Nov 1. read more

I'm back online and very happy again.

They write language into their agreements that basically indemnifies them and you're stuck with whatever speed they have you set up at. But that isn't the only caution here. Another area to be cautious with them includes service reliability. Before we canceled service four months ago, they had failed service in every 24-hour-period on 27 of the last 30 days we had service. Yes, you read that right. 27 of the last 30 days we had with them showed us losing internet connectivity for at least 60 minutes in the 24 hour period. That is NOT reliable service. Lastly, and what prompted me to write this review, I just received an email stating that I owe equipment. Keep in mind that my wife endured A THREE HOUR WAIT just to return the equipment we did have. What stands out to me is that this is the second time this has happened since we cancelled and went with Starlink. I believe they do this as a way of generating revenue from clients who cancel. Most won't take the time to fight it and they can just bill for the cost of the equipment regardless if it had been returned or not. I'm fortunate...I keep receipts and the first time they pulled this I spent two hours on the phone (which I'm certain I will have to do again) to clear it up. So...the bottom line of this review is to inform you to make the best decision for you. Good luck and don't go with Comcast Xfinity.

So after a year of using my 4g phone as a hotspot, with crappy 4g coverage at my house, I was excited to give Unwired a try. Their service is long range WiFi. I have had the service for two years now and have been nothing but impressed with this company. There have only been two service outages due to their equipment, and both times I was emailed multiple times from Unwired, keeping me informed of the situation. They explained what went out, which tower, how long the service would be down, etc. They made me feel like I was important. How often do you get that from Comcast or AT&T? NEVER! YOU have to call and most of the time they treat you like an idiot. Most recently I had a power supply failure on my modem/dish. I emailed Unwired support at 7PM on a Friday night. I totally expected to not hear from them until Monday. Well, guess what? The CEO of the company emailed me back within a half hour and helped me diagnose the problem via email that night! If you are not impressed by now, just wait. I emailed him the next day (Saturday) and asked if there was a local place I could find a power supply. He explained that the power supply was a unique unit and a normal store would not have it. He then volunteered to personally deliver a power supply to my work!! I told him I didn't expect him to do that and I would wait until Monday. If the deal wasn't already sealed at this point, it is now. I will be a customer for life with this company. The service itself is great. It has a very fast upload/download speed. The latency, which was my biggest concern, is VERY fast. I trade futures and a fast latency, or "ping" time is crucial. If you want excellent, small company service, fast internet, and a lower price than the big guys, give these guys a call.

I had them replace an older Aiphone intercom with Unifi access and they came and installed a Unifi door reader, cleaned up my door strikes, installed a unifi in wall in a rental unit so we could pass through an additional POE port to a Unifi intercom and then came up with an idea to consolidate my networking gear in my garage so I changed scope after day 1 to include that and also setup a gate hub automation. I also had them do a new cat6 run and they did a great job with that as well as patching up the holes from older cables. Great communication - they know their networking and Unifi gear and I would recommend to others looking for ethernet/wireless/security cameras and expertise with Unifi gear.

I'm certain you will find that you are being overcharged. It's their policy to do so. Perhaps I'm a bit old fashioned but I believe in quality service and honest business. Sure, they get sued and fined all the time but there are enough people not paying attention who don't have the time or energy to address the problem that they make more money being shady crooks than they would being respectable and honest. It's their POLICY to over bill you. They will lie to you and get really nasty if you attempt to bring their criminal behavior up by phone or in any other manner. AT&T is the worst. I have a land line - I had one dead jack- AT&T came out and the next day, and my entire phone was dead. The next joker that came out said my security alarm was causing a short in my phone and he suggested disconnecting my alarm. I agreed- sure enough the next day, my phone was dead again. Well at this point, I am livid, I have no phone and security system. I am also using up my cell phone minutes to call AT&T, to be put on hold, jerked around and to (you'll love this one) be told "The technician did not have the authority to cut your burglar alarm and we are not fixing it". Okay, I went ape shit and started yelling, calling back until they agreed to send someone else out. Got the phone and security system working like the others (well for 4 days) and then the phone is dead again. I also complained about having to use my cell phone (the carrier is not AT&T and they knew this) minutes and was going to over my alloted minutes (hold on, this is another doozy), the rep told me to work it out with my carrier!!! At this point, I had to laugh; these people are true miscreants- Finally they got tired of hearing from me and gave me a local number to call (instead of the 800-go-fuck-yourself number) and the person had to re-wire a line on my roof because the sun had eroded it and when it got wet the line would go dead. TIP: during this mess, I went online and filed a complaint with the PUC; believe it or not, they sent a letter to my house stating that if this wasn't resolved to call them. I believe that was the catalyst to get them calling me up and taking care of my issue and then calling me after to see that everything was resolved. Second incident-have a separate fax line from land line. All I wanted was the ability to have long distance on it. I went over what I wanted in detail with the dumb-ass rep because I knew the mental capacity I was dealing with when you are talking to the 800-I am-stupid reps. Sure enough, my bill comes and she has added internet services!!! I had to laugh when I talked to that AT&T rep as he was trying to sell me cable and cell phone services - I said after what you people have done - I try to deal with you as least as I can. Aside from this, they know it is a fax line and they call on the fax line to ask how their service was. AT&T! I'm a customer of this company for around 12 to 13 years. This company hires people and probably gives them no training at all of the customer services. This is My story: I approach the store in South Shore Mall at the end of May 2018 and I was assisted at the moment by a rep name Steve. This dude has what it takes to lie to people with false advertisement. He convinced me and others to buy a deal of an iPhone 8 Plus with an Ipad attached that will be at a price of a $100.00 just for the Ipad. The phone that was a 1000.00 was going to be down to 700 bucks His deal: But for this to happen you have to get another number all their bull shit and lies. " do not worry sr I will take care of everything and I will shut down the other line for you". This guy left my old iPhone 6 Plus line open that I've only noticed when someone was using that number attached to my Uber to take rides in San Francisco, CA. I find out and call the bank right away to close my debit card. I am a 28 year old homeowner, college grad, and disabled U.S Army veteran that had the unfortunate experience of signing up with AT&T Uverse and Wifi after my family had been customers for 20 years. They have since lost ALL of our business. Why? Because at day 1 of our contract thru the entire first month our service did not work. After 4.. FOUR boxes it finally worked. We were patient. THEN, a bill for an unreturned box appeared for $168. This is when things really snowballed.. This bill suddenly turned into $381... we called relentlessly to remedy this. One day, an agent by the name of Christian agreed to CREDIT (not reverse payment) our bill for the $381 for our CONSTANT troubles. I asked if this would EVER come back, and he assured us it would not. Well, this bill reappered for another month or so until we got sick of it and cancelled. NO ONE would help. During which we were assured we would not incur an early termination fee. Since then our bill has risen to over $700, to inlcude the missing box their technician 'lost" and a termination fee.. Unbelievable, right? I have PERFECT credit and now I'm being harassed by collections. I reached out to the BBB and a man by the name of Timothy Amey from the Office of the President at At&T called me to discuss this matter. Not only did he refuse to fix the matter but he - like every other employee - straight up REFUSED to provide the audio transcripts of the phone conversation with his agent proving that he credited the bill. They are hiding the evidence of my claim since listening to it themselves. Timothy refused any responsibility after agreeing with me that it was wrong and had the NERVE to say that I needed to pay for the services I "enjoyed"... I didn't enjoy a single day Timothy, in fact it was all hell. Now this Christian kid still has a job while I take a hit to my perfect credit. Xfinity has since been a MILLION times better and more receptive. You've been warned people. Avoid taking a hit to your credit and the financial and mental angst that comes with At&t. I have to say that AT&T has got to have the most incompetent people working for them. I have had internet and cable with AT&T since 2015. I pay over $300 a month for the worst connection ever! I'm lucky if I could get threw a whole movie without my TV freezing up and NO SIGNEL! POPS UP! on my screen. Like clock work. FYI! Everyone. I want to give you all heads up not to ever have to be swindled like myself and 2 of my tenants have been. Last month we had no cable or Internet for almost a week and a 1/2. They sent out a technician to "Fix the issue". Along with him came some marketing guy named Marvin. Who proceeded to tell myself and my roommates that if we switched over from our existing phone service he would give us a brand new iPhone 13 for free, with unlimited everything+ a $250 gift card and our phone bill would be only $50.00 a month. He also promised that he would also bring down my TV and Internet bill substantially if I bundled them together. This guy sat around my house bumming cigarettes off of my tenant not following through with getting anything he promised done. then had a friend of his stop by my home as he went outside to meet whoever this was? exchanged something which the AT&T worker put in his car? He came back in sat down and asked me for my debit card in which I was charged $79.00 + $24.00. Not even 2 weeks after this ordeal. We all received a $161.00 Bill due immediately! Charging us for the cell phones that where supposed to be free our bill was well over what we agreed and my cable and internet was more expensive then the months before. Oh and by the way my connection is still losing signal constantly! We have spent countless hours on the phone and at the ATT store and nothing has been rectified what so ever. I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with AT&T Internet service, and I feel compelled to share my frustrations. As a nurse, I was excited about the prospect of receiving a 25% monthly discount on my AT&T Internet bill. However, due to a technicality regarding my phone line, I was denied this benefit, despite being promised otherwise. This alone left a sour taste in my mouth. To add insult to injury, I was also promised a $300 rebate card, which was supposed to arrive by mail. Unfortunately, it never showed up, prompting me to contact the rebate center for an explanation. Their response was equally disheartening - apparently, because my phone line wasn't associated with the same AT&T account or address, they couldn't honor the promise made to me. This lack of consistency and failure to deliver on their commitments was deeply frustrating. Even after speaking to three different representatives, the issue remained unresolved. Despite their inability to provide the promised $300 rebate card, one employee finally stepped up and offered a $150 reward card as a consolation. While I appreciate this gesture from that particular employee, it does not excuse the poor service I received from AT&T overall. I believe it is essential to express my dissatisfaction with AT&T's service, with the exception of the one employee who made an effort to rectify the situation. Their inability to deliver on promised benefits and their inconsistent policies have left me with a negative impression. I hope that by sharing my experience, others will be aware of the potential pitfalls when dealing with AT&T's Internet service. In conclusion, I urge potential customers to carefully consider the service they can expect from AT&T, particularly regarding promises of discounts and rebate cards. How can a company that specializes in facilitating communication fail so miserably at communicating with their customers. I just want to move my account from one office to another. You would think it was a national security issue. First, the computer asks all the questions about your account, only to transfer you to a person who asks all the questions again. What brain fart genius in corporate set up this system? Then we have to know a password? What password? The one you set up 3 years ago and never used. Holy crap, I am not doing anything but moving my service. So by the time we get the password figured out (it was the phone number in case you are interested), we finally get the service ordered. But guess what, I get an email (that I can't respond to of course - only the jerkwads at AT&T can send an email - those jerkwads can't allow themselves to actually read one) that has the wrong date to set up service. They pushed it out a week. They recorded the frikkin' phone call and the service tech confirmed the date, but the e-mail that I can't respond to says 5 days later. HEY - JERKWAD!. If I wanted it five days later, I would have asked. Now I have to get back on the phone (8-5 only Jerkwads don't think they need to talk to you at any time other than their Jerkwad hours) and go through the computer idiot thing to get to a customer non service specialist who specializes in AT&T stupid procedure and will probably tell me that they can't do anything because it is jerkwad policy that AT&T does not provide service. STUPID FRIKKIN JERKWADS. GRAVY SUCKING PIGS. I hate AT&T. I just can't change my e-mail address so I am stuck with them. AT&T is censoring the internet. I have a website that I have not been able to access since changing to AT&T U-Verse. I've been a Network Manager for 20+ years and know how to troubleshoot these issues. Doing a tracert under standard settings with AT&T the website name will not resolve. By changing my DNS to Comcast, Sprint, Google Public, or OpenDNS DNS servers, and run the same tracert, the Name resolves fine. AT&T is trying to tell me that this is an issue with browser caching on my computer. They finally escalated it to a higher level support team that I'm not allowed to talk to, but have been waiting for a "call back" for four days now. When I inquired about the delay, I was told it takes time for the "IT Team" to talk with the "IP Guys". I have records of the chats if anyone is interested. I'd post them to a website, but AT&T would more than likely block that too. If I switch my DNS to use Google Public DNS, the name resolves, but the tracert stops at the AT&T servers, the traffic will not go past the AT&T firewall. This issue been completely ignored with every CSR I've talked with. They claim that there is no blocking done by them; however, I have reports from third party servers and tracert information that states differently. At this point I'm considering contacting a lawyer about breach of contract for my service agreement as I did not agree to "censored" access to the internet. I also considering a civil suit for damages to my business as obviously all AT&T internet subscribers are unable to access my site. If you've been considering switching to any service that uses AT&T internet, consider again and choose a different vendor. Don't support internet censorship. read more

Extremely Disappointed - Terrible Customer Service and Unfair Charges I've been a loyal AT&T customer for years, with multiple services, but my recent experience has been nothing short of appalling. After participating in a trade-in promotion for the iPhone 16 Pro Max, everything seemed fine for the first few months - the promotion was applied, and I was happy with my new phone. But after 4 months, AT&T started charging me more than what was agreed upon, without any prior warning or consent. When I contacted customer service, I was treated with disrespect, and they even tried to accuse me of committing fraud! The worst part is that I'm not alone - I've heard of others who have faced similar issues, where after a few months, AT&T attempts to charge the full price of the phone, despite already receiving the old trade-in device months ago. The whole situation feels like a scam. What's even more frustrating is that AT&T always seems to be looking for ways to charge you more. Each time I've called customer service, the experience has been worse. The reps are rude, unhelpful, and don't show any respect for the loyalty and number of services I've had with them. They just don't value their long-term customers. I'm extremely disappointed with how AT&T has handled this situation, and I'll be seriously considering switching providers if this isn't resolved quickly. I absolutely do NOT recommend AT&T. They don't appreciate the amount of time or services you've committed to them, and they'll treat you poorly when you try to resolve issues. I called A T & T at the end of September to simply request more services from them. I wanted them to provide me with some sort of Internet access. Sounds simple enough right? Wrong! I was given a date of October 7th. We got a phone call on the 7th saying there was a problem that should be fixed in a couple of days. Oct. 9th I went out of town, and returned on the 18th. When I get home there is still no Internet access. I call them to find out why and they put me on hold forever. Then give me a bunch of telephone numbers to call, but I couldn't call at the moment, it was after hours. October 20th I call them (during business hours) get put on hold forever, and get " We don't know what the problem is....let's schedule a new service date. This time I got Oct.25th. Nothing. October 26th I call them (during business hours) go thru the automated hell, get put on hold forever, for the response "There was a problem in your area, but it's fixed. Lets reschedule your service date" This time I was promised it'd be up and running November 1st sometime between 8am and noon. At 12:15 I called and was told they actually had until 8pm to complete the order, there were no problems, I should just be patient. At 8:15pm I called and was told they had until midnight to complete the order. On November 2nd I called to cancel the order, and had to fight with them to credit my account the Internet service they were charging me for, but not providing me with. Their new slogan "rethink possible" Makes sense to me. We all know what possible is, and they can't provide it, so they need us to change our perception of possible. read more

6. Other As you know, about 3 weeks ago, AT&T U-Verse two technician came to my office and they tried to switch DSL. Then, they tried to find out the wire, and then opened the ceiling everywhere. But, they messed up my telephone wire and finally, they couldn't make it... They said, "This building was impossible to make U-Verse". So he asked me to cancel the order. Then, the technician cancelled order and packed tool, and left. So I asked him to put back everything together before they leave. They said they will come back and fix it for me. But after 3 hours later, they never come back and never call! We couldn't get business because the ceiling everywhere was opened. The wire everywhere was messed up. First, I called U-Verse and they said call DSL. So I called DSL and they told me to call AT&T. So I have wasted my time all day for nothing! And, I couldn't get business because I had to fix it myself. I'm 63 years old man. You know how dangerous to go to the ceiling. Anytime I fall down, I am dead man. But, I have no choice and I have to do fix the ceiling and telephone line. So I have called several times at AT&T and U-Verse, but they never answer the phone. I want to talk to the manager and the manager doesn't want to talk to me! This is terrible business! You shouldn't do that! ***this review is for customer service representative lorenza stas5930 at 6:54p-7:49p PST 6/17/20 I was getting my internet service switched over to my new place, and while we were waiting for the technical person to work on it we made conversation. he asked what's for dinner, I said fish tomato string beans. I said what abt you, he said fish and crackers. I said that's odd why those items together he said, I'm jamaican. he clearly is not jamaican, he has a latino heavy accent. I tole him you're lying and you lie to your customers. he insisted for another 15 minutes, and I kept saying stop lying and you're a liar. during that time, he asked if I wanted to hear him say something in jamaican, I said if you're jamaican you don't have to try to show me. (when we hung up the second time I got his name and employee id number, and his name is indeed latino, like I was sure of in the first place. that's in the next section) after almost an hour where we both waited and he came on occasionally to say hes's still here, and I was on mycomputer at home doing minding my business, he finally said it's done, it will be on next weds, and ret the equipment to ups. I said okay bye. then he called me back a few minutes, I said what do you want whyare you calling me back. he told me everything over again what he said when we hung and had already discussed in detail. this latino man is strange difficult and unprofessional. he is a liar and represents att in bad way. att shld fire him immediately the two stars is for my service being transferred successfully on one call. read more

ATT's order process SUCKS!!! Went online on 7/9 to order Internet and TV for Walnut Creek, CA. Took a while and the online rep was helpful but got an installation date of 7/16 - one week out. Then the order would not complete. I received an error message stating they could not process the order online and to call 855-227-2354. Then I had a call tree that did not have an option of needing assistance for an order. You had to have an order number, which was not provided (I printed out everything including the 7/16 installation date), or some other reference to proceed. So I errored out on the order number and finally got to a rep. Then the fun began. Must have been an offshore call center. I had to spell almost every word. And the rep was hard to understand due to her accent. She could not find my order and reentered it. Then she said it would go through OK and did not know why it was not processed online. THEN she told me installation would be on 7/20. I told her I had already been given an installation date of 7/16 - she was sorry but the system assigns dates and that was it. I asked to speak to a Supervisor - on hold 20 minutes waiting for a supervisor. The supervisor (easier to understand but the same recognizable accent) said she would escalate my request for earlier installation of the order but could not make a promise. What a screw-up. I have had similar problems with Comcast. They are all B A D. read more

I won't even go into how horrible and incapable the "cheap" labor / customer service in the Philippines is, but the the managers I have spoken with in the USA for Atlanta, GA are equally if not WORSE than the culturally ignorant Filipinos. It is very apparent to me that these "managers" worked their way up from the lowest type position and got their class-less friends hired on to move up with them. These front line employees are obviously tenured in and feel that they can say whatever they want without threat of losing their jobs as they should for the horrid service they offer - RUDE, disrespectful, sarcastic, and unintelligent, only begins to describe the supposed managers I have spoken with on the phone. It is truly unfathomable to consider that these people actually have jobs let alone to comprehend that they have a position as a manager. And I completely agree with anyone who wrote that It is totally impossible to understand how AT&T even remains in business - except that they are 100% in bed with the USA government, FBI, CIA and NSA. I can 100% guarantee that a majority of their employees are hacking into unknowing female customers smartTV's and wifi to be the perverts they so clearly come across as. I always been on AT&T ever since 2000 as far I remember. My previous mobile provider was T-Mobile up til 2006 to 2012, afterwards it was always AT&T. I will list the pros instead of the cons. Decent Internet Speeds- I need to convert my modem onto Fiber and use different channels u get internet traffic. I called them out at the AT&T store they actually will service u. I still use my LandLine it is a lot better compare to my mobile Apple Ipad I was able to get some 2wire LandLine filters all of my lines run better. I got a guy out they were willing to help me run a landline from downstairs to upstairs for 100 to 150 steal of a deal. People who don't understand Telecommunications should not complain. I am writing out my own personal point of view if u put effort into ur duties u will excel. Blame urself for being a procrastinator if u cannot understand the meaning of procrastinator youtube it. Why do I write my review? Why wouldn't I review? It is basically saying i got a car but u will refuse to bring ur car to get service at a Car Wash or at Big O Tires or not using condoms or lotion. if u don't got a job apply for jobs or learn day trading stop mopping around. In California Costco stores Direct TV salesman are contracted to pitch TV and phone service to Costco members. I signed up for the "Service" and what I got was a big radar dish with TV cables running all over the patio floor. Every couple of weeks I would have to call Direct TV help operators in the Philippines and spend 20-30 minutes reading off all the serial numbers on TV boxes, pushing buttons etc. to reset my TV sets. After a couple of months I cancelled my Direct TV "Service". Direct TV wants to extort $500.00 from me for "Breach of Contract" threatening to send me to Collections. After paying all those fees what service did I get? ATT owns Direct TV. ATT refuses to release my home phone number to another carrier until I pay Direct TV $500. Why is Costco allowing these corporate parasites to victimize loyal Costco customers in they're Costco stores? Look at all the hundreds of one star reviews on Yelp. I urge all Costco members who are victims of this scam to file online complaints with the California Office of Attorney General Consumer Complaint against Business Corporation oag.ca.org And a written/email complaint with the Costco store manager and District Costco manager of where you were scammed by Direct TV/ATT. read more

I have been an AT&T customer for over 20 years these customer service people who work for AT&T are so damn stupid & greedy because they have to meet a certain quota in their department so they can get a bonus or a trip or their section manager gets a bonus or gets recognized for trying to get vustomers to pay their bills even though we are calling them to have them help us out because we do you have a financial situation and needs more time. And then the stupid customer service people sitting in their cubicle saying hey thank you can I help you with anything else or you think you for being a big part of AT&T thanks!! A new generation of people kids lying and having stupid AT&T corporation putting the lies n lies and they're not there to help customer service there a big corporate America greedy insensitive and loyal to their customer. I will never recommend AT&T and I will do anything and everything to ensure my families and friends and my clients to terminate their association with AT&T! I cosigned for a phone for my fiancé. He passed away in August and at&t told me I needed to continue to pay the bill because it is now in my name and there is a contract. I called last week to see how much longer the contract was for and they said I can get out of it if I pay the phone off. I went ahead and did that and made it to where the service shut off on the 22nd of this month. On the 22nd I realized I needed to have the phone on for a few more days because we had a joint bank account that only sends verification codes to that phone. When I asked them to turn it back on, they informed they couldn't because it's in his name and he is deseased. Really? You told me the phone was in my name because I cosigned for it. Now that I've paid a total of $818.16, it's in his name. It doesn't matter if the person you cosigned for dies. They will make you pay. The crappy thing is that he was the provider and we have young children together. On top of grieving this tragedy, I had to pay off a phone that I could not really afford. I understand the responsibility I took on when I cosigned. What I don't understand is why they couldn't turn it back on if it was infact mine. read more

This company sucks!! The customer service makes this business look even worse than the service!!! I called to try an make a payment 3Xs and each time was transferred over to customer service! I would rather speak to the automated system than speak with one of their reps. I informed rep of the issue and was informed that if I make a payment with the rep I would be INCONVENIENCED by incurring a $5 charge because their stupid automated system wouldn't take my payment. I asked the rep to transfer me BACK to the payment system and once again this happens. So I transfer to a rep once again and now I ask for a supervisor and the supervisor can't even "manage" customer service adequately! She informs me that in order to waive the payment they have to do it via automated system and ask for my card number! My card number!! I told her i will not give her my card number and again to transfer me back into the automated system. After about 5 attempts I was finally able to make a payment. (all of this to pay you) Your customer service is the worst I've ever encountered! I can't wait to switch my service provider. not to mention the service isn't worth the headache anyways read more

Maybe they also ignore the customer referrals from alarm.com? I will let alarm.com know about this experience.

No explanation regarding multiple outages, intermittent service, low speed, no internet.
