I am visiting Modesto again from the east coast of Canada, and one of my favourite places here is We Donut Shop. The donuts are consistently delicious, and the maple flavors remind me of home. They're fresh, soft, and the variety is great. I recently tried a Vietnamese Coffee from their shop, as well, and the flavor was strong and sweet. New owners at this donut spot and wow, they have taken it to a whole new level! The space is beautiful, clean, and has a great selection of drinks, including my favorite energy drink Yerba Mate and self-serve coffee. Donuts usually last a couple of days in my house, but my kids ate a dozen in less than 24 hours! They also have a nice variety of breakfast sandwiches, bagels, and burritos, so there is something for everyone. The staff is super friendly, and I know this business will prosper and do well in this neighborhood. I love that it is right next to my kids' Jiu-Jitsu gym, so I can grab a coffee after a long day of work. Excited to have them here and we will definitely be regulars! I visited We Donut Shop this morning with my pops. We wanted to check out the shop and of course the donuts. We used to visit the then Baker Boy Donuts since we moved to Modesto back in the late 80s. We went in and were instantly greeted with a smile. The shop was very bright and clean. I purchased a dozen donuts and an additional apple fritter for my pops those are his favorite and he's very picky about them. I also purchased a Vietnamese coffee which was very good. The prices are reasonable and the donuts are good. They not only offer traditional donuts they have specialty donuts also. I saw a couple of breakfast items I'd like to try in the future and some boba tea on the menu. We spent a few minutes in there looking around and at the menu and products they offer. This past Tuesday my family and I went to this place. I had already gone multiple times before and everything was always great. To start off, the lady at the register was so rude and unfriendly since the start. I've always been a people pleaser so I kept being nice to her the whole time. I asked her if she could give us a minute so my family could look at the donuts and tell me what they wanted. After we got our donuts I asked her if we could order some drinks. She didn't look very happy about it but I proceeded to give her the order. We got a Thai tea, a taro boba, a mango matcha, a brown sugar boba, and a caramel frappe. When I asked for the caramel frappe she looked at me and said she didn't know what that was. I looked at her confused since there was a picture on their menu and I pointed at it and tried to explain what it was. She looks at me again and says, "I've never made that before but okay," with a rude tone. I'm confused as it is on their menu but I just say okay and she tells me to pay. It ended up being close to $40, I pay and then she says to give her some time because it's A LOT, with emphasis on those words. Even after all her comments I still kept being friendly, she then asked me to grab coffee so she could make the drink. I was so confused and she handed me a coffee cup and tells me to not grab "too much." At this point I'm losing it, I give her the cup, and she continues making the drinks. The only drinks made correctly were the Thai and the taro. When she put down the brown sugar boba I was confused. She gave me chocolate milk with a chocolate drizzle on the cup and boba. Are you serious?? I tried it and it indeed was chocolate milk. To top it off, she gives me the coffee cup that she had given me to give her hot coffee in, with a lid on top. That was the caramel frappe I had asked for. No plastic cup, no caramel drizzle, no whipped cream. Just ice blended with hot coffee, that tasted absolutely horrible. I had to throw it away the matcha, the chocolate milk she gave me, and the blended coffee she had the nerve to give us. I would stay very far away from this place. There was a guy in the back eating and drinking orange juice, not sure if he was the owner but he offered no help to the lady at all. Needless to say, we will not be going back here. What a disappointment to have such a bad service and to waste money in such an awful and unpleasant way. To the lady if you're reading this, please look for a job that you enjoy and stop treating people in such a rude way. And to management or the owners, hire people that treat customers the way they deserve to be treated. Never was I rude nor did I give her any attitude to get such an awful experience. The place was empty and we were the only ones there, so I'm not sure what her problem was. read more

So happy that they're closer! Went in and was super excited to have their donuts so close. Before this end up until now I'd only gotten them delivered. Big difference when you can buy them and they're still warm! I can't get over the bear claw and how full of apple filling it is! But, don't sleep on their simple things like a sugar donut or a powdered donut. They're wonderful and fresh. And it's super close to my house. I'm sure I will be there frequently. read more

I had such a wholesome experience here! I was attending a party in the event hall next door and happened to walk by this shop. I saw they were open around 9pm and was curious as to why they were open. I went inside and learned that they are 24/7! I love late-night coffee runs, so I ordered a latte. The mom working there said she doesn't know how to make iced lattes (I asked for mine iced) and she did her very very best and made me such a delicious iced brown sugar latte! She made sure to ask me for my preferences of how much espresso, flavoring, milk, ice, etc. the entire time. The shop itself was nice and roomy. Can't wait to go again! read more

Wanted to try a new donut place so ordered these on DoorDash. They were horrible through them in the trash and waisted 30$ tasted like they were fried in very old oil. Also every donut had a wierd Asian flavor taste . The maple bars are double coated because they just use whatever glaze they already have made and put extra chocolate or maple on top of other donut. First off love the layout of this donut shop! Super clean super friendly! Strawberry Matcha was delicious and has variety of milks like oatmilk and almond milk. The #19 was very good, crisp bacon and good crunch #17 pesto also tasted amazing!! 100% recommend prices were not bad at all either! read more
