Was craving donuts late at night and stumbled upon Mr. T's on my search for donuts. Made the drive out to go get some, and man they did not disappoint one bit. During American Graffiti weekend my husband and I discovered this amazing 24 hour donut shop. It has great selection, reasonable prices, and it is immaculate. You can actually watch them making the donuts as you order. We ordered a large chocolate twist, a blueberry fritter, and an orange cake donut with coffee. Total cost under ten dollars. All were delicious. The service was efficient and friendly. We will definitely return next time we are in Modesto. No wonder this place has been around so long and won so many awards! I decided to give this place another shot and came at an odd time; 4PM. I got a couple of fritters, banana and blueberry, and a couple other blueberry donut options. They were fantastic! The oil was clean this time and I experienced no indigestion. The maple glazed cinnamon roll donut was to die for! I just bought a dozen donuts and they are inedible. The taste of grease is overwhelming. I called to let them know because they are usually the best. I've gotten donuts from Mr T's for over 40 years and NEVER had any issue. The man who answered the phone just said "ok they must have fried too long." I said "ok I have to throw them out." He replied, "ok." The man who answered the phone after the 3rd try had no cares that their product was bad. He only said "ok" to everything that I told him. I really like how you can get fresh donuts any time of the day. I like how this place is 24 hours which is awesome. I never heard of a 24 hour donut shop. They usually close early on in the day. The service was excellent and the people working gave out great recommendations. The ambiance is really nice. Probably the best donut shop I have been too. Better than almost all of the donut shops in my hometown. I give this donut shop a 5/5 star review, simply because this donut shop is 24 hours and I can get hot and fresh donuts anytime of the hour. For my wedding, I wanted something different (what bride doesn't?) instead of a cake. So I opted for a cookie cake with a crapton of desserts. One of those desserts being Mr. T's cronuts - I ordered 75 cronuts with white frosting. I ordered in person but I am guessing they also take orders over the phone because I heard them on the phone while I was waiting in line. When I told them how many cronuts I wanted - they didn't seem to believe me, lol. I told them it was for my wedding and I think they understood (I think). They seemed scared to tell me the price but tbh, the price seemed fair for 75 cronuts. They requested that I pay in advance so that pick-up would be smooth. They wrote down my information and the date/time of pick-up. They pointed at the date they wrote down and had me confirm, which I did. When I was still in the parking lot, they called me & they asked for confirmation on the date of pick-up, I told them October 25 which is what they had written down. When I pulled out of the parking lot, they called me & again had me confirm the date. lol. I didn't know how much clearer I could be but I just confirmed again. Wedding day came & went, & cronuts were picked up without incident and my guests enjoyed all the sweets. My story really adds little to a review but I just thought I'd share my experience. I don't want to dock them a star for wanting to make sure the date was correct. If there was a suggestion bow - I guess it would help if they had a standard process for ordering big amounts of donuts. But HEY! Who am I? Visited recently to pick up some donuts and left really disappointed. Inventory was very low, and a lot of usual items simply were not in the case. When I tried to ask about specific products, the staff seemed impatient and annoyed, as if my questions were an inconvenience rather than a normal part of ordering. It did not feel like the same humble, friendly place it used to be; the attitude came across as entitled, which was surprising and off‑putting. In the end, I chose not to buy anything, because I am not going to just take whatever is pushed in front of me when what I actually asked for is not available. If you cannot keep your shelves filled, at least stay respectful and appreciative of the customers who still walk in. My favorite was the old fashioned, which was one of the largest old fashioned I've had and still crunchy around the edges.
