Perfect location for me on the way home. The store was super clean and the older woman at the register was so sweet friendly, patient, and polite. I grabbed a dozen donuts and she even tossed in a few extra donut holes, which my kids loved! The donuts were soft, fresh, and not overly sweet.. just how I like them. They have a ton of variety too, from classic options to fun ones topped with cereal or bacon. Also loved that they offer lots of drink options, including fountain drinks and different kinds of milk. I did notice a couple of jelly-filled donuts were missing from my box, but honestly, the service and kindness made up for it. I'll definitely be coming back. I fell hard and had my nostalgia attended to today when I swung into Village Donuts' crispy-clean donut shop. The peddle-pusher pink & white striped donut boxes are a dream and take me way back to a time when my Grandma Thomas (my Fathers' Mama) out of Riverbank, CA would have donut treats for us when we would visit as an intact happy family. This is my second or third time visiting here and today I had in my order the following: Buttermilk iced and un-iced donuts (SUPER HEAVY & super sweet with the icing on) Apple Fritters; medium to large in size and freshhhhhhhhhhhh, chewy sweet & made with real apples! Not overwhelming with oil. Maple circular donuts: Fresh & the icing tastes of genuine Maple from Vermont U.S.A. which is noticeably different on the palate than the imitation Maple extract I'm accustomed to. Still delicious! Everything I've tried here spanning 2 years now is one thing: FRESH!!! & there simply is no-mistaking-it. I think it's the Owner of this fine establishment that assisted me on today's long-overdue donut excursion. She's delightful... Simply yet cleanly dressed and super funny & entertaining. It's clear she loves her work here and is dedicated to pleasing and satisfying eager respectable customers such as myself. In closing, I do not know if this business offers delivery but what came to mind to me today, was a mental picture of this shop keeping nearly 24/7 hours with standing orders may be, to respectable businesses, or other companies where employee-satisfaction & appreciation are in their top-5 list of essential responsibilities they have for their valued customers. Yet I digress; not really though. :) So my thought today, was this business may be losing out on an area not yet filled by awesome bakery donut shop owners: Offering 24/7 365 days per year service; maybe delivery? maybe customer pick-up with a pre-paid clause that would be unbreakable as tons of effort and supplies are used just to fill every single day's worth of homemade goodies. One example that popped into my wheels-ever-turning brain is that say a company like a grocery store where they are open 24 hrs a day or have limited hours of operation/sales but have 'shifts' for employees. Say one shift begins at 2 AM, 3AM etc, and the awesome employer wants to give-back and show appreciation to their invaluable employees for the strain of necessary work shifts such as this. They can have their standing order for Monday through Friday of different donuts or other offerings from the same business as a DAILY staple. Watch employee satisfaction ROCKET to the top! Beverages such as milk & flavored milk, +Coke a Cola could also be for sale or a partnership with say Starbucks Coffee House? The possibilities are truly endless and fun! Tried their donuts and they are amazing. Best thing is all their donuts except one of the types (forgot the name) are egg free/ eggless. I cannot believe that no one has reviewed this place! Turlock Yelpers seem to be slacking...or maybe no one in Turlock has even heard of this site...too busy milking cows and lifting their trucks? Anyway, doughnuts are alwasy fresh here, the service is fast, friendly and welcoming. I'm not much of a morning person but I can't help but smile when the older Asian lady behind the counter greets me when I walk in. Very warm people! I picked up a dozen doughnuts two days after thanksgiving for me and my parents to have over coffee in the morning. I'm a big fan of the sugar glazed doughnuts...pretty simple, just a glazed doughnut coated in sugar :-) My Dad loves the apple fritters here and my stepmom likes the old fashioned glazed. Prices are more than reasonable and even their coffee is good! They have a few tables in the place so you can sit if you like. 1 downer...parking lot is poop! There are always spots open but one of the driveways is exit only...so you have to drive around to the Golden State driveway....and the Marshall Street exit is like 20ft from the stop light...so good luck having someone let you into traffic. read more

I just wish this place wasn't in Turlock. I have been going out of my way to eat here since going to school at Pacific (yeah, in Stockton, 40 minutes away). I haven't lived in the Central Valley for over 5 years now but, to this day, this place is the standard to which I hold donut places too. The donuts here are seriously AWESOME! The glazed ones are light and fluffy, not too sweet, and it doesn't taste like they have been using the same oil for days and days. I actually have cravings for them and hope that everytime I walk into a donut shop in San Jose the donuts will be comparable. Still hasn't happened. If you find yourself driving down the 99, you need to stop in. The blueberry donuts are my favorite, but other must try's are the French Crullers and the Crumby ones. Mmm, the donut holes are good too, but they run out of those pretty early. Nothing like starting your day with hot coffee and a donut (or 2)! read more

Tried this little gem for the first time ever and wasn't disappointed! I was in Turlock for an appointment and driving back to work when i decided on a whim to stop for a donut. They have French Cruller's which are hard to find around here. Not only did they have them...but in multiple different flavors. And it was DELICIOUS. I will always stop here on trips to Turlock now. My favorite is their apple burritos with the crumb toppings. It's their own creation so you won't be able to find it anywhere else. Besides that, their dough seems to be a lot softer than other donut places. The owner once told me that they use only the best ingredients that cost more than the normal stuff. I believe her since I do taste the difference between this place and other donut shops. I also like the donut holes, very soft and the glaze is tasty. First off, they don't take anything other than cash. This is very inconvenient. The closest atm machine wanted to charge me $3 just to get money out. The donuts were good but not worth the hassle. The service was a little chaotic and the older lady was pretty rude, but the younger ones were nice. BRING CASH! Seriously, it is 2015, can you not get a little machine that swipes a card?
