Been searching for a Filipino bakery and thankful to have found this one! Will definitely be coming back!

The products sold here are great if your local and have the opportunity to purchase and consume within the time-frame before it goes bad. Yes, it would be "fresh"! However, if your not local and purchase from the vendors in the bay area, then your prone to the time it sat at the bakery, travel time to bay area and how long it's been sitting on the shelve before you bought it. Did that! the product went bad the next day! We happen to be in town and stopped by. This was our opportunity to visit for awhile because we moved from Modesto to the bay area and we always bought here when we were local. We requested pandesal on the rack. I wouldn't think that be a problem if a customer requested that versus that already packaged, mind you that it's not every customers expectation, so do it. I'm a Manager in Customer Service so this was the test because the last visit a while back was off and about the same with the same exact aura on the front-end and I just thought maybe it was that one day. There was asian woman and white woman at the front counter. The white woman approached and we requested. Then for some reason the asian woman responded with this attitude that it was fresh and brought out. I could tell she got irritated because she disappeared to the back and never seen. The white woman rung us up, but then you can tell she was brushed off with the same attitude of the asian woman and she rung us up so quickly to get us out. This was similar to our last visit from a year ago and I still remember that visit! Ambiance is great on the first minute before you enter with the aroma, but once you make contact at the front counter and make requests. Good luck! The 3 stars here is strictly the hopia and pandesal we bought that were amazing. The customer service was deteriorated by 2 stars. Just want to make that clear! read more

10/10. This place is such a hidden gem. I've lived here a few years now since moving from the bay. We don't have many Asian/Southeast Asian bakeries, restaurants etc. out here compared to the Bay Area. I never came across this place and I was really craving the hot dog buns I use to get in the Bay Area and this place had them! Super excited as I never knew such a place existed. I grabbed a few other items including a Spanish roll. I've seen many a video on TikTok regarding Spanish rolls and the hype lives up to it. All the items I purchased seem promising. My go to and main reason were the hot dog buns and They are absolutely delicious. Can't wait to try the rest of the items. read more

The señorita bread is perfect here! It's not overly sweet at all. Great with coffee! The guava bread is also really good. My husband found this place and thank goodness he did. Being from the Bay Area I miss the array of bread you can get. Though I'm on a forever diet, I can't wait to try more. read more

I've been craving hopia lately and being out in the Central Valley, they're aren't many Filipino bakeries around. Thanks to Yelp, I was able to get my hopia fix at Gold'n Fresh! Love that their hopia is not overly sweet and has the right balance of filling. They have other baked goods like ensymada, pan de leche, pan de ube, biko, bibingka, siopao, hot dog rolls, and many more! My mom wanted me to take her to this place since she really likes the hopia here so off to Modesto we went. A pretty small bakery that's kinda hidden in a spacious shopping plaza (you're at the right place if the GPS leads you to a nearby Raley's). The hopia here is delectably chewy and not overly dry like the ones sold at Filipino grocery stores (always try to buy hopia at the source!). Not the *best* hopia that I've had though (the hopia baboy in particular is a bit bland). Still, would definitely satisfyingly fulfill a hopia craving. There are typical Filipino bakery staples here as well, some of them with a twist. Basic-tasting though (the blueberry flavoring in the blueberry ensymada tastes like canned pie filling). There is a clearance rack of what looks like to be day-old products so you could get away with bags of things like pan de sal for just a few bucks. Overall come here for the hopia, but you could easily leave the bakery with more things if you tend to buy standard Filipino bakery goods on the regular. read more

Meh. I was excited to see pork bao but it broke my heart when I cut it open. The meat to bun ratio is extremely low - see photo below. For $3.15 each I expected a mediocre quality at least but it isn't even that. Ranch 99 supermarket sells $6 for 4 and meat is 50% of the whole bao. read more

Tasty pastries. Various varieties of sweet egg dough stuffed buns, including pineapple, ube purple yam, coconut. Reasonable prices. Customer service was weird, employee was not too helpful. Decent little local store. read more

The cheese bread that I bought was not as good as the one from the bakery in the Bay Area. The dough was not as soft and the filling (cream cheese) was very little. The mango hopia was good as well as the one. Some of the pastries was cold. I didn't know why. The cashier was friendly and accommodating. read more

Their siopao has more bread than filling so go over to Le Saigon instead. You won't be disappointed.

The bread was okay. Passable. I'm actually thrown off by how many Filipino products they have, and the owners are not Filipino. I've seen their bread in many Filipino stores and a few restaurants. was expecting fresh bread, but they didn't have warm fresh bread, and it was already packaged. Hidden gem!!! Picked up hamburger buns for a special birthday lunch. They were delicious!! Staff was very helpful. The cases and shelves had so many options. I will definitely be back to try some of their other delicious looking items. read more

I love their little discount rack. They're probably cheaper because they're older but the pan de sal and ube cookies are always good no matter what. Nice growing selection and they send out their bread to many other Filipino stores around the valley. read more

I use to come here every day after school when I was younger, I went in recently and just wanted a couple of cookies but did not have cash on me at the time and was told it was a minimum purchase of $5 to use a card but I've been struggling financially since 2021 due to inflation and every penny counts so was unable to do that. I do have to say, I am glad there there is a Filipino bakery in my neck of the woods. I was extremely surprised how high of a rating this place is and decided to visit here before my dive trip with the hubby. They had a good collection of pastries as well as bread. The price is average... Actually reasonable. However, I had their Cassava cake and I wasn't too pleased with it. Though the consistency of the cake itself was delicious, the top layer of the coconut was pretty soggy. Hubby had a couple of pastries that ended up really good and I also myself and tasted delish. Service was wonderful. You expect that from a mom and pop bakery shop so it's as expected. I will definitely come by here more often for my craving a pastries during the weekend. I have never seen so much ube in one place before. Pan de Ube. Ube pastries. Ube biscuits. In other words, if you love ube, you should be coming here. I read all the raves about the pork buns. And while my mom loves them, they didn't win me over. The cookies did. The peanut butter cookies have peanut butter chips in them that melt in your mouth. The oatmeal raisin cookies are chewy & have the right amount of spice. The snickerdoodles are crisp on the outside, & softer in the center, w just the right amounts of cinnamon & sugar. The white chocolate macadamia were golden & sweeter from the white chocolate, but still balanced. All the cookies tasted homemade. Like your mom baked them for you. But the macaroons w chocolate ganache blew me away. Worth getting melted chocolate ganache ALL over your fingers, scrambling for napkins in your car, then licking them clean. Yeah. That was me. I can see how another yelper was dissatisfied w the blueberry ensaymadas. I liked them, but there were parts that were very bready; the blueberry wasn't evenly distributed. I don't know if that's the fault of the bakery, or just what naturally occurs in bread that's been shaped this way. Not all bread is easy to control or manipulate. I'm also a complete novice when it comes to Filipino & Spanish breads. So, I don't hold this against them. What I liked about the ensaymadas, as well as the pan de ube, is that the sweetness in both doesn't overwhelm. The bread mitigates the richness & the sweetness of the blueberry & the ube that's strewn in. Still, they both were like having a treat. This is what your morning coffee wants you to pair w it. This is a small family bakery doing great things. Simple & straightforward. All the packaged items have their ingredients labeled on the bag. They deserve props. Third time lucky! My third attempt at visiting this Bakery and they were open so I could pick up a couple of items for Hubs. At 4pm the offering were a little on the sparse side but I did find some good deals in the reduced section - Blueberry Ensymada and a Pineapple Ring. Bags are marked with different colors to represent different discounts from 30 - 50%. The Pineapple ring was pretty good, lot's of pineapple and not too sweet but the Ensymada was a miss for me, way too dry and nowhere near enough Blueberry. As well as bagged Pastries there is also a counter filled with cookies sold by the lb at the back of the store. read more

If you are looking for Filipino Baked goods in the Central Valley this place is a hidden gem. Their Baboy (pork) and mongo (mung bean) hopia are some of the best I've had outside of Hilda's Bakery in Daly City. Their Pan de Coco, Pan de Leche and Pan De Sal are also Superb. For those looking for a bargain they also have a discounted section ( I am assuming day old). So if you got that hankering for some Filipino baked goods this place does not disappoint! read more

Pan de coco is so good and they have ube bread and cookies!!! This is the spot. I go to European Wax and Raleys all the time and today I was curious enough to walk in this bakery. Can't wait to take some goodies to parents this upcoming Thanksgiving. The front service really sucks needs to improve and learn how to treat all customers equally.

Check the clearance rack for amazing deals and definitely try the Hopia! My partner loves the purple yam ones and their pork buns.

The siopao and meat roll are to die for !!! We buy by dozens and freeze it , then microwave with wet paper towel before eating.

I was curious to try this place based on the other Yelp reviews. Pork buns?! UBE?! I HAVE TO GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY. I'm definitely coming here again and again. Their pork buns are super yummy (I just wished it had more egg, but that could just be me being used to my whole half egg in pork buns). And I love their hopia ube. My favorite item is the Hopia. It is so addicting!! 2nd runner up is the Coconut Macaroons. Everything we have tried here is very fresh. They have a large selection of goodies you aren't able to find at other local bakeries. Friendly staff, good prices and tasty goods. Can't beat it!! read more
