Rosca de Reyes regular size without filling
    Tara L.

Found Conchitas on Instagram looking for Rosca de Reyes for Three Kings Day, which was an annual celebration with my old co-workers....missing my work family! FYI...the address brings you to a store front in an industrial area. I believe they may have opened this up recently. Not sure if they are still running a food truck though. I wanted to find a Rosca that wasn't dry and super moist and boy did their Rosca fit the bill! It was still warm and fresh out of the oven when we picked it up. I ordered the regular Rosca without filling and it wasn't too sweet. My family and I put some cocoa almond spread and apple cider spread (both from Trader Joe's!) and it was delicious. I'd love to try their filled Roscas next year. They have cream, Nutella, cajeta with churro, and strawberry. We also tried their strawberry, pistachio, and Nutella conchas which were all delicious especially with a cup of hot coffee. They also sell day old conchas at 50% off. Just reheat in the microwave and they're as good as the fresh baked ones. Service was also great! The gentleman at the front was friendly and helped answer our questions. Can't wait to return to try their other goodies!

Excellent customer service!!! When we are out of town we make an effort to Hunt down the Mobil trailer. The concha's are so soft and delicious. Coffee made with love. They want to make sure their customers are happy.... And we absolutely were. Cutest trailer and owner. Official Conchita groupies

The churro iced latte is amazing from here! The concha's are soft & fresh, and the staff is super nice! There's plenty of parking and places to sit and enjoy your treats if you want to cool off inside.

I saw one of my friend who live closed to Modesto posted this Conchitas bakery. I looked it up and by looking at their Instagram page plus the reviews. It was a must try for me since I love sweet bread. On Saturday, when we were on our way to a family function, we decided to stop by to get some. I want to cut the wait time so I placed an order online but when I showed up, my order wasn't ready. The workers were very nice but some of the flavors I ordered online wasn't available so I ended up picking out whatever that were available at the bakery. Regardless about the online order experience, I was super excited to try the Conchas so were my kids and the hubby. First of all, the Conchas were hard not fresh. It didn't have the wow factor. It didn't melt in your mouth like the ones i had before. The cafe con leche was so hard and stale that I literally couldn't continue to eat it. Other ones that we got were a little softer but it didn't taste like it was freshly bake. It's more like a day or two old. The three stars are for the presentation and the friendly employee. It's definitely pretty but not yummy. Not something I would try again.

    Concha's

The other day while I was in Modesto, visiting my cousin nearby in the valley I felt hungry and saw this Conchas place on Yelp! Going there I had thought it was going to be a food truck but they do actually have a store front. It is in a little industrial area, just look for their pink sign and store front and your there! Very cute shop with pink walls, they also have some seating as well. I decided to get the Concha Ice Cream Sandwich which was delicious, I got it with their Horchata Ice Cream flavor since I love Horchatas. Would definitely recommend! I also got a mini and regular sized Concha to take home to my family for them to try too! It all came to about $11/12. The girl in the shop was very nice and was able to prepare it quickly! If I'm ever in Modesto or passing through again I'd definitely try it again!

I absolutely love this place! So yummy! Every time I visit from Nevada I have to get a coffee and a conchita!

We've been following Conchitas for a while now on Instagram and we couldn't wait to try them. Today, we finally went to pick some conchas up and we were scared they were going to be sold out so we went early in the morning. We've seen on social media they sell out by mid-day so we took extra precaution to come early. We got a few conchas and some coffee. The conchas were amazing and lives up to the reviews and the coffee was great. We'll definitely be coming back for more!

OohMyLanta! This is delicious!!! Ordered the maple bacon breakfast sandwich on doordash and my goodness how delicious is this! Bread is fresh, soft with sprinkles of bacon and light sweet crumbles. Overall, this was savory, lightly sweet and salty which sure hit the spot. Can't wait to try more items!

So we were coming back from the reservoir. We were driving through Denair and the wife saw this conchita truck. For those who do not know what a conchita is, it's a Mexican pastry. We decided to stop to give it a try. I was thinking this truck only served conchitas but I was so wrong. They make a stuffed conchita dessert along with other desserts and drinks. The price for a stuffed conchita was a little stiff at $8.00 especially in the town of Denair. We decided to get one to share. We ordered the conchita with the abuelita chocolate ice cream and the condense milk. I had great hopes for this thinking this was a unique dessert. My first bite and I was immediately turned off by the icy ice cream. I was expecting a smooth ice cream but it was icy. If I had to describe the texture, this had the texture of a frost bite ice cream with the ice crystals. No way Jose. The chocolate flavor was spot on but the ice crystals totally turned me off. Could this truck have potential, I say yes but they need to solve the ice cream part. My kids ate the remainder of the conchita. Of course, kids will devour anything with sugar. The loved the conchita. As for me, one bite was enough for me to say No Mas (No more). In the end cool concept but they have some tweaking to do based on my visit.

the food was amazing , we ordered a milkshake and a latte , xavier who helped us was very patient and polite with everyone. it was pretty crowded but he made sure everyone was taken care of in the store. he made sure to get our drinks out fast despite being the only one working. Really hope this business recognizes his great effort ! he also did not waste product, by giving us a bit extra milkshake that was left over! definitely coming back

Conchitas is the bomb! Not only the conchas are delicious, but the owners are super friendly. Oh, and the conchas and drinks are Instagram worthy. My favorite the ice cream concha sandwiches and the breakfast sandwich 5/5 would recommend

One afternoon in Hayward, my family and I showed up right at 6 PM, exactly at closing time. We had just left a family party but purposely held our appetite because our favorite Puerto Rican food truck was finally back in town. My wife and I were married in Old San Juan, and Puerto Rico will always hold a special place in our hearts. We even travel back to the island with our kids whenever we can. When Chef Darren saw how disappointed we were that we had missed them, he didn't turn us away. Even though they were already closed, he fired the grill back up and blessed our family with an incredible meal. That level of hospitality, heart, and genuine Puerto Rican warmth is rare. But if you're like me, and just hella sensitive to spicy foods, you gotta exercise caution with this one. My partner and I got food to go, two loaded burritos (one pakora fish, the other chicken masala), a Naan Chalupa with paneer masala, and a chai horchata! It did take about 30 minutes for it all to come together; but I urge you to remember that 'food truck' means 'mobile' and not 'fast food.' Good things come to those who wait! The Chai Horchata is SO GOOD! Like drinking a gingerbread cookie made especially for you by your grandma. I would go back for that alone. In fact, I regret not getting two because I'd definitely have delighted in not having to share. Swing by for that alone. Now the food? My partner ordered everything mild; which has got to be a relative thing because both burritos and the chalupa had such heat that I couldn't take more than a few bites of any of them before my mouth felt like it was on fire! I wish that I had any sort of tolerance because everything was so flavorful; incredibly flavorful! Just too dang hot for my wimpy tastebuds! The loaded chicken burrito was the messier of the two--downright greasy so be prepared! Ask for extra napkins or have some on standby if you take it to go. I'm coming back for you, Sizlin' Masala! Maybe not right away, but I'm coming back! Your food is so good! I just have to build up my spicy-heat-tolerance first!

The husband and I ordered the Grilled Cheese Nashville Hot and Chicken Tenders. The Grilled Cheese was tasty with a nice balance of heat and tanginess from their slaw. The Chicken Tenders were appetizing, but it wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped for. It does come with sauce on the side, which helped. Staff were nice and service was efficient despite the growing line. Although a bit pricey, I think their chicken is good and worth trying out if you're in the area.

It is located off a newly renovated street where new high rise development were put in to increase dwelling density and foot traffic. It is not quite there yet, but I can see where this is going. It is held in this square near a business park so there is plenty of parking. There is a grassy square where families like to lounge with picnic blankets and lawn chairs. There's usually a dj dishing out tunes, a beer and wine tent, and about 8-10 food trucks lined up in an organized fashion. It goes every Friday in the warm months so from May to October. If a holiday pops up on a Friday like 4th of July they will skip it. Starts at 5pm and goes to about 9pm. Bulk of the crowd goes from 6:30 - 8. I go to about 2-4 per year since 2017, with the exception of 2020 cuz y'all know why. You can see the food truck line up each week on their website or socials. So I like to scan that and if it looks promising then I'll text some friends/family if anyone wants to meet up after work on Friday. If the weather is nice, it is just a just a festive and social way to start a summer's weekend. Now even tho I like these events I don't always like food truck food. Sure it is trendy and you do get to sample and /or get stuff brought to you in one area. But I often just find many of the food to be just average at best at prices that rival sit down dining. So to me I like scoping these out occasionally but I don't think they are worth going to on a frequent basis. I also feel that there aren't enough places to sit and eat once you get your food from a truck. There is a small area where they put out portable picnic benches, but those fill up with just 20 people or so. Otherwise you have to sit on the lawn and come prepared with blanket or lawn chair, or find a concrete planter box to sit on, or go back to your car to eat. Another reason why food trucks events often leave me hanging. But bring a warm typical Bay Area summer's evening where it doesn't get dark til almost 9pm and you want to be amongst your community and commerce, this event will do you more than fine.

There were about 8 food trucks to choose from, along with a few random vendor/service tents (like Bass Pro Shops). Decided on sliders and garlic fries from the Curveball food truck. The food was okay, good enough to satisfy my hunger (see my separate review on that). I snagged one of the few spots in the grass with shade on this hot evening, though they also have tables and seating here, partially shaded too. An actual restroom (not porta potties) on site, in the Fremont downtown event center building. Also, plenty of space available in the parking lot. I finally decided to give it a try after hearing about the restaurant from food reviewer Dave fiore text. As someone who absolutely loves tacos and is always on the hunt for great local taco spots, I was excited to see how this place compared to some of my favorites. I ordered four different tacos, and overall, they were pretty good. They weren't bad by any means, but they also didn't quite blow me away. The meat was cooked well, the tortillas were fresh, and the tacos had good flavor. The salsa was decent too, although I personally prefer something with a little more kick. Everyone has different tastes, so this is just my opinion. One thing I really appreciated was how clean and organized the restaurant was. You can tell they take pride in keeping the dining area nice and welcoming. The staff was friendly, and my food came out quickly. It's always a good sign when a restaurant pays attention to both cleanliness and customer service. I've eaten at a lot of taco places throughout the Bay Area, so I naturally compare every new place to some of my favorites. While El Halal Mexican Restaurant didn't make the top of my list, I still had a good experience and I'm glad I finally gave it a shot. Not every restaurant has to be your favorite to be worth visiting. I also like supporting family-owned businesses because I know how much hard work goes into running a local restaurant. They deserve credit for creating a clean, welcoming place and serving quality food. Will I come back? Maybe. If I do, I'd probably try something different on the menu instead of the tacos. Sometimes a restaurant's best dish isn't the first thing you order, and I'd be interested in seeing what else they have to offer. Overall, I'd give El Halal Mexican Restaurant a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It was a good experience, I'm happy I finally got to try it, and if you're in the Willow Glen area, it's worth stopping by and deciding for yourself.

We were in the neighborhood, hungry, and knew the area lacked abundant food offerings. We had seen…read morethe cute little Dojo Dog food truck (well, food trailer) before -- and this time gave it a try. Glad we did! Rebecca was running the truck with her husband, and they were warm, friendly, and hard-working. That same care reflected in the food. Comforting flavors, big portions, and just what we needed. ---- Food ---- The hot dogs here are big, delicious, and fantastic value for the price. Wushu Dog: Loved this one. Inventive and delicious. Great texture, topped with pork sung and crispy cabbage, plus katsu sauce and Japanese mayo. Savory, crunchy, and satisfying. Sumo Dog: Japanese curry beef chili with cheese and fresh scallions. Hearty, comforting, and perfect for that chilly evening. Fried Foods: We didn't try, any but they serve fries and potstickers too. The fries seemed to be a crowd favorite at Great Notion Brewery next door (which is partnered with Dojo Dog). Definitely getting them next time. Rebecca told me she enjoys experimenting with new dishes, and the creativity shows. Looking forward to trying more! ---- Drinks ---- We didn't but drinks as we were enjoying beer at Great Notion, but Dojo Dog also offer drinks like milk tea. ---- Bonus ---- As I mentioned, they partner with Great Notion, one of our FAVORITE bars in the Bay with the best smoothie beers and stouts. You can bring your Dojo Dog inside and pair it with their awesome beers. Inventive hot dogs + beer = awesome evening ---- Vibe ---- Cute little food truck, family-run charm, friendly service, and an endearing hole-in-the-wall feel. The whole setup feels local and community-driven. In fact, it was originally created by Berkeley students. Very cool. ---- Overall ---- Amazing hot dogs, great beer next door, friendly owners, inventive sides, and a fun, low-key vibe. It will hit the spot every time. Can't wait to come back and try more from their menu!

SPARK Social SF is one of those places we end up at again and again, usually without overplanning…read moreit. It just works. Open air, a mix of food trucks, people hanging out, dogs everywhere, and that easy San Francisco energy where you can show up however you are and it fits. It never feels like a production, just a good place to land. We have eaten our way through a decent chunk of the trucks at this point, and that is half the fun. One day it is something messy and indulgent, the next it is lighter, but it always hits. Grabbing a drink, finding a spot at the picnic tables, and slowly settling in as the place fills up is kind of the rhythm. It is social without being overwhelming, lively without being chaotic. What keeps us coming back is how consistent it feels in the best way. It is easy, flexible, and always a good time whether you stay for an hour or lose an entire afternoon there. It is the kind of spot that turns into a routine before you even realize it, and honestly, we are not mad about it.

Spark Social is a great place to host an event. Big ones (company-sponsored), small ones (a group…read moreof friends huddling at a table), really any of them, because they have a couple different set ups that are open for reservations, but they can also accommodate walk-ins with the abundance of seating. Beyond that, the food and drinks are all food truck based. They are all quite good, and there's a wide variety of items. This also means a good variety for folks with different dietary needs, because they are mostly picking their own food. I have always enjoyed my time here, whether it's on company dime or if I'm just hanging out with friends. I do wish that there are more heaters around for the colder days but that's just life in the bay! It can be kind of cold and foggy all seasons here, so if you have a solid group of folks I'd recommend reserving a spot with a fire pit. One more note: parking can be tough. You either have to circle around for street parking, or rideshare here.
