A family affair To sum up the weekend, we gathered here. At the private hangar entrance for the Camarillo airport with an active runway 20 embarked on the breakfast experience. We left happy. A line, a short wait and get it in. Marcello managed drums ie coffee, mimosa's, apple juice and espresso and latte's. The fun began in the waiting. I don't know the servers name but she managed 20 of us in grand style. The orders were delivered at the same time, hot, beautiful and yummy. We had such a variety and enjoyed it all.
This place is fabulous! Amazing food with amazing view ! Watching planes come in n out while enjoying a milkshake is very nice . My wife said she would pass on the chilaquiles tho . Service is quick too
This is a hidden gem! I have been coming here for years. Plethora of breakfast choices. Just let your server know how you want and they will happily accommodate you. There are a lot of changes since Covid in terms of diners style decor and efficient way of sitting guests to getting your food as fast as possible. Wednesday and Saturday are for Trip-tip that cooked outside. Mouthwatering smokiness that I can't resist on my salad with a side of Santa Maria dressing. All items have humongous portions that you can split or take home. Tacos, burritos, sandwiches, salads, and so much more. Don't forget the delectable shake. It is a fun family friendly place. It is a hit with kids especially if they like planes. You may be lucky to spot famous faces too. I would suggest getting seated out so you will have the view of the airport traffic. Always nice weather to enjoy with your group. Dog friendly too!
I had the chicken and waffles here. It was absolutely the best batch of chicken and waffles I have ever had. So crispy and the extra butter merged well with the chicken which made it very juicy. I highly recommend this order for when you go. In addition the service was efficient and easy. Ordering at the entrance and getting your seat after makes things operate smoothly. There was outside and inside dinning but with all the people it was still a very calm place to eat. Not so noisy at all. I will definitely be going here again.
Beautiful place, There is a wait time but worth it. You need to place and pay your order before being seated. The outside view of the planes is amazing. I had a burger and fries it was really good.
My sister in law recommended this place to have breakfast so we stopped by and boy were we satisfied! When we got there we ordered at the front before we were seated. So by the time we sat down the food was coming out. It was quick service. The day was nice and being able to sit outside near the planes was pleasant. Food was great. Waffles to die for! If you come definitely order a shake. Delicious!!! Here is all the food we ordered and a view of the outside patio.
Our hostess, Alma, was so kind and accommodating when our party of 4 were separated and only my wife and I were present( no reservations taken). She had us sit in a comfortable patio outside , with coffee and water. The attraction of this cafe' is it's on the Camarillo Airport landing zone. People stay all day watching many kinds of aircraft arrive and depart. When our friends arrived , Alma, put us to the front of the line to order and then showed us our patio table. So sweet and so professional. We all had burgers and milkshakes. Food, service, atmosphere all 5-star!
Back again! Like always food was delicious! Chilaquiles and chicken tacos were spot on. My husband enjoyed his mimosas and my tea was never empty. We sat inside today and admired how hard their employee work to make you happy. Every single person comes together. I wish more restaurants were like this. Great restaurant and great food!
Waypoint has become our annual tradition for Thanksgiving break week. Since my son is old enough now to also enjoy the planes viewing area, we knew we'd have a great breakfast experience. We got there right before a major rush so we got seated right away and had the choice to pick from inside and outside. There were plenty of people already wrapping up their early breakfast so we got a great view. I tried something new this time and hashbrown since I knew the O'Brien potatoes weren't my favorite from last time. I got the opened faced biscuits & gravy sandwich and subbed the sausage for bacon which was a great choice! Love their thick and crispy bacon! The gravy was so delicious and flavorful. My husband said the breakfast burrito was a bit on the greasy side but overall, really enjoyed our experience again.
It was a great day so we sat outside. The patio area was so nice and we got to see the planes and the county helicopter takeoff and land. The service was great! It was very busy that day and our food still came out in a great time. They have a little bit of everything. You'll for sure find something for everyone. The brisket l sandwich I got was really good and I definitely recommend it. My friends got brisket tacos and the other one got a salad with brisket in it. Both looked really good and they enjoyed their meal. Before I left, I had to get their well-known shakes. I got a coffee shake and it was probably my favorite shake I've ever had. I will definitely be back to try more of
Came here on a Friday morning for lunch. There was a long line which made me think their food is good. We waited about 30 min and when we got in, I didn't understand why there's a wait when there's a lot of empty tables inside. Anyway, we were guided to a register first and we placed our orders. It was more like pay now eat later. Our orders came fast. We ordered chicken fried steak and that was ok. Nothing special. The guava lemonade was really good. I suggest to dine outside if you like small planes.
I was in Camarillo for the weekend visiting some relatives. My aunt was keen on taking us to Waypoint Cafe for breakfast! We showed up early and waited in line for a few minutes before opening time. Whilst waiting, we looked at the menu so we'd be ready to order. Ordering is done up front then you are seated. I opted for the cinnamon roll and a guava mimosa. After sitting, it was only a few short minutes before all of the food was brought out. The mimosa was a generous portion and very delicious. I thought it had a good ratio of juice to champagne. The French toast was very good! It was sweet and rich but not too much. My family and I didn't speak much since we were very much enjoying our food. The style of the restaurant is very efficient but I never felt rushed. It's down to business with eating and seating but everyone was very helpful and kind. Overall, I had a good time at Waypoint! I'm sure my family and I shall return again :) definitely come early if you want to try it!
First off I guess I should've read more about this restaurant. It was near an airport kind of out-of-the-way. I didn't know you had to get in line and then order when you got to the front of the line. So someone came out and gave me a menu and I finally got in line with my husband. We weren't there that long maybe 10 to 15 minutes. So we got to the cashier and we ordered our breakfast. Then someone took us to our seats. Ashlie was our server but basically she brought out our food and our coffee. My husband and I both had coffee and I love the mugs and the coffee was pretty good. They even had the raw sugar we like. I had a Carnitas omelette with fruit and wheat toast. The omelette was pretty good, the fruit I would've liked some blueberries or something else. It had a lot of pineapple. Love the wheat toast. My husband had ham and eggs with hashbrowns. Hashbrowns were your typical he said the ham steak wasn't as good as some other places. They did come around and made sure we had coffee and water. And then it might've been the owner she brought us to go boxes. Great if you have kids cause you can sit outside and I believe you may even can bring your dogs. Inside look nice but we chose to sit outside. I like how they stagger the table so you're not next to people. But it was rather loud outside.

Superb service and food! Once you arrive, don't be intimidated by the line of people you see (if you do). They are busy taking your orders once you arrive to the front. It doesn't hurt to grab a menu or 2 so your party can decide what to order and be set to go! Once you're seated, it's a breeze from there. Take in the scenery, enjoy the weather, catch up with friends and family. When the food arrives, your taste buds will thank you! When I say I've found my salad, y'all, I've really found my go to cob salad! I will be back just for this salad lol! Their presentation was beautifully plated and the planes around make it more entertaining. They have a little runway for the kids to play and thought that was so cute! This was a great brunch place! We were in the area for the weekend and arrived around 1030 AM for brunch. There is a queue to order and after ordering and paying you are taken to a table. We waited about 30 minutes to order. It seems very popular and the line was almost doubled by the time we left the restaurant. We got the club sandwich, biscuit and gravy sandwich and a deluxe milkshake (chocolate, peanut butter and banana). Total was near $60 after tax and tip. The food came out very quickly and tasted great. Fries were nice and crispy. The milkshake comes with a second cup that has the leftover. Dog friendly on the patio, they even brought water for our dogs. There is additional grass and seating area to the side to be able to watch the planes come and go. Only difficult thing was finding parking as the lot right in front of the restaurant was packed but we found parking just across the street in another lot. Overall a fun place to have brunch that works for kids, dogs and adults. read more
I've never thought to hang out with friends at the airport let alone grab brunch, but I'm glad I tried it! We came on a Friday morning around 9:30 am and there was about a 15 minute wait to be seated. You order your food at the counter before being seated at a table, so we spent our time waiting deciding what we wanted to eat. We shared the smokehouse BBQ burger and the enchilada omelet. I absolutely loved the fries that came with the burger. Everything about the BBQ burger was exactly what I wanted out of a BBQ burger. By the time I got around to trying the omelet I was already stuffed. But I really enjoyed the omelet with one enchilada inside and one on top of the omelet. The portions are pretty big but the food was so good we almost left no crumbs. Would recommend especially if you have kids or are just interested in watching some planes fly in or out while enjoying a meal. read more

It was the perfect service that impressed us the most. There was quite literally nothing they could have done better. We both ordered breakfast. My husband ordered the carnitas omelette with hash browns, sourdough toast and a side of sausage patties and a buttermilk pancake. The carnitas portion and the guacamole were generous. He ordered extra cheese, and there was probably too much cheese (if there could be such a thing). I tasted his pancake and it was the best I have ever tasted. i had the open face biscuits and gravy. iIt was delicious. I asked for extra gravy. it arrived quickly and it was hot. The O'brien potatoes were very good. So the good is very good and the service is excellent. The planes were slow today, but the location was fun. You won't regret going for a meal. The food was okay at best. It lacked flavor and was unfortunately very soggy, which made it less enjoyable. The service was just okay--not bad, but nothing exceptional. We sat outside and it was also unpleasant. Overall, an okay experience. Wouldn't come here again. read more

Wow! Amazing food and staff and great atmosphere and ambience! You can sit in the patio and watch the planes land and take off! Can't wait to come back!!! The staff is truly amazing! We got 2 tables for 11 and got seated within minutes and food arrived as soon as we sat down. The operations is a well oiled machine. Hats off to management and staff. Thank you!! read more
Waypoint is a "if you know you know" type place. It's tucked away on the backside of the Camarillo airport. You walk in and are immediately greeted (after standing in line) and you place your order. Then like a traditional restaurant you have the ability to sit or takeout. You can sit inside or outside but either way you're going to hear the planes :) Waypoint is great for friends and family gatherings and could also be nice for a brunch date. The service staff are attentive and make sure you have what you need. Now, the food...I have tried a simple breakfast here (bacon, eggs, pancakes) and that was good. I tried the chicken and waffles and although I enjoyed the waffle, the chicken fell flat for me. The breading was not properly bonded and seemed a bit burnt. However, I want to give the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was just mine. I saw another gentleman truly enjoying his. I will be back to try it again amongst other things they have to offer. Such a cool brunch spot with amazing views of lil planes taking on and off! Came on a Saturday afternoon & my group waited about 10-15 minutes which is super reasonable. I've heard the wait could be longer, but it's a popping place, so guess I got lucky! Anyways, how the restaurant works is you order your meal at the counter, pay, and then get seated. If you are coming with a party make sure they are all there once you get to the front of the line or they wont seat you until you do. We got seated outside but asked to switch to a better view of the planes & they were nice enough to help us switch tables. Service was super quick and we got our meals within 5 minutes. Staff was attentive & would always check up on us which I appreciated! I ordered a Rancher's Omelet which came with cheese, avocado, bacon, tomatoes with a side of their O'Brien potatoes & sourdough bread. The salsa on the side was the perfect spiciness I needed on top of the omelet. Flavors mixed well. Love the hot sauce selection of Tobasco & Cholula as well. However, only thing lacking for me were the O'Brien potatoes. Flavor-wise it needed more seasoning and depth in taste. Their milkshake seemed popular so I opted for a Coffee milkshake. It came with an extra scoop of shake on the side too. I loved the attention to detail of the coffee beans on top & chocolate rimmed glass. Overall, their portion was big & filling! My first Yelp review of 2024 is to tell you about a fantastic brunch place in Ventura County called Waypoint Cafe. As it has elements to make a great brunching spot: good food, fast/excellent service, serves alcohol and a great view. Lets start with service. When we arrived to the cafe, the line to get a table wrapped around the outside front of the cafe, although it did move pretty quickly. We waited probably 30 minutes. It was nice of Waypoint to serve small cups of coffee to the patrons in line outside, while waiting. With choice of indoor or outdoor seating, we sat indoor and tables accommodated large groups of 6-7 people (our group had 7). We ordered our food/paid at the door and then was seated. Food was promptly served and I was pleased with the attentive service who always checked on our big group to make sure our water was filled and needs met. Great portion sizes of food, would satisfy big appetites and taste pretty amazing. I got the Cinnamon French Toast combo (eggs how you like it and bacon or sausage, I choose bacon) for $20. My Bloody Mary, looked cute (see my pic) and taste light with not so much alcohol in it. Inside/outside decor or the building is nothing special to post on IG. Outside view was of planes taking off at Oxnard airport, which is kinda cool. Parking is a free with a moderately large lot. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 8AM till 3PM. Obviously this place is a staple in my repertoire. Always an AWESOME crowd. Food is hot and fresh tasting. Classic American diner with fun twists. Today for lunch I got the Pepper Jack Turkey Melt (with no cheese cuz sadly my stomach doesn't allow for that). It was served on toasted garlic French bread with was an epic touch! Good amount of t of meat and avocado. Perfect size as well. Should have added Ortega chilis to make up for the lack of pepper jack :( (but that's my fault). If I could say just ONE NIT PICKY THING...the service is like...TOO FAST. Our food came out before we even sat at our table! Other than that, this place is a 10/10! read more

I've been wanting to try this place for so long and finally got to come here yesterday around 2pm! We waited in line for about 20-25 minutes to order and then we're seated. We got seated on their large patio where you can watch planes and helicopters take off! Such a cool concept/place to eat! They also have a lawn in the patio and play area for children. The service we received was also great! They were super attentive and we got our shakes within 5 minutes of ordering and food within 10. After deciding between the spicy crispy chicken and pepperjack turkey melt, I decided to get the spicy crispy chicken and it was so good and filling! I wish the chicken was more salted and there was more sauce on the sandwich, but overall it was good. The peppers really made it better. My partner got the chicken and waffles and loved it! Their portions are huge (which is great cause it's a bit pricey). And their shakes!! We were skeptical at first cause they're $11-12 each but they are definitely worth it! So creamy and rich! Plus they also give you the extra in the cup they make it in instead of throwing it away. Overall, I would definitely come here again and bring people here to try. The food is great, the service is amazing, and watching airplanes take off while eating is so cool! read more

I love everything about this restaurant. My favorite being it's right at the airport. We landed here for breakfast and there was a massive line during the weekend but they move quickly. I had them do a veggie scramble no eggs and if you want it to be truly vegan, let them know to cook it away from the meat. I ordered and some meat pieces ended up in there. They had no problems fixing it. Coffee is great. Service is perfect. I'll return here. read more

This place was worth the wait if you like mimosas and airport views. As soon as we arrived there was a huge line but we were pretty patient. I ordered the huevos rancheros in a tostada bowl with a side of fruit and it was good. The tostada bowl could have used a bit more salsa or seasoning for flavor. The star of the show was definitely the mimosas. I was surprised when I saw how large it was and it tasted super refreshing. The fruit was also pretty fresh. Great experience, good service, and great price. Just keep in mind there is often a long line unless you arrive very early but it's worth it. read more

Honestly felt very underwhelmed by the experience -- I've heard about this place from multiple folks so was very excited to try. The food was good and the service was quick but honestly not a fan of the whole right next to private planes + airport vibes. This is definitely specific to me so no judgement to anyone who loves this place! It's definitely worth checking out but personally, it was really loud, the planes were annoying and the smell of gasoline was just not it for me. If I do come back will likely eat inside. My friends and I all liked the food but there were some missing elements.. friend ordered a burrito and they forgot the sour crème and guac. I wanted poached but when I saw it - it was soaked in water which I don't usually find in poached eggs. However they were very quick to fix so service is amazing! Stopped in for another visit and had to share an update. After a short wait we over heard the host talking about the fresh red snapper fish tacos. His description of fresh local caught fish, hand delivered in the AM, prepped and available only after 11am had me sold. The dish comes with 3 tacos, fried to perfection with the fresh accoutrements and a delicious crema sauce was absolutely some of the best fish tacos I've had! Served with "nacho chips" with their enchilada sauce and cheese melted on the the dish was absolutely fantastic! I also had to try their highly promoted dirty chai latte that tasted like fall in a cup! Vibrant notes of cinnamon and the chai favorites is the perfect drink for the season! This was my first visit to this restaurant. I consider it a hidden gem. It's located next to the Camarillo airport. No reservations needed. Upon entering we were handed menus by a friendly staff (how thoughtful). This place is busy, so plan ahead. I ordered the breakfast burger and my boys ordered similar dishes. My wife ordered a seasonal shake. The food was great. The views of the runway only made it a better experience! As for the staff, everyone is friendly, but Marcelo, who introduced himself to us to make sure we were doing well, takes my highest compliment! He was funny and warm. Thank you! This place is cute and atmospheric. Portions are huge, I only ate half, so honestly, you can even get one and share. The airplanes are visible from the dining area. Service is quick. Before you enter, you are waiting in the line and looking over the menu. By the time you get to the front desk, you should know what to order. Then, after ordering, you go to your table, and food gets to your table in the first 5 minutes. I would go again! And you should try it read more

This is a such a neat experience, has a good open ambiance a With the view of the airplanes at Camarillo Airport and the open back patio. Service is good and prompt, you place your order at the front and then you're seated and food came out in good time and warm. I got a veggie with cheese omelette with a side of bacon and a coffee. Friends got the pancakes I sample and it was delish! Great experience and great view of the planes. We got there at 8 am and we were seated promptly no wait on a Friday morning. read more

Is it loud because of the airplanes?
I didn't find it to be loud due to airplanes. The restaurant was packed so the biggest sound issue was just other diners talking and clinking plates, silverware, etc. Nothing excessive, but definitely did not hear an airplane.
Does the restaurant look over the runway?
Yes it does outside is the best view of that but there are windows inside too.
Is breakfast served all day?
Yes but service is hit or miss. My burger was overdone and the person next to me was underdone. If you want a great breakfast go to Hidden Cafe in Camarillo springs. Traditional breakfasts and Hawaiian breakfasts.
Will you open for dinner Friday & Saturday night this summer?

Do you still offer chorizo and eggs breakfast plate; not the burrito?
When I went in January, it was a plate, not a burrito.
How long is the wait on a Saturday morning? Also, do all the outdoor seats have a good view of the planes coming & going? Or do we have to request those seats? Thank you!
The wait was about 15 minutes last time I went. All the outside tables will do, though the tables that aren't under the covered patio are better for spotting the planes coming in.
Do they offer to go/ takeout?
As I know if they don't. But, of course they let you take out the left over food after your meal.
Do they take reservations for Sunday brunch?
Unfortunately NO...but so worth the wait👍🏻
Does Waypoint allow dogs in their outdoor seating area?
Yes they do. We have brought our dog several times as long as he is on a leash. Also, there is a local older dog who wanders the area and comes and goes as he pleases. He belongs to one of the hangar workers nearby the restaurant. Everyone greets…
Do they have a room/ area for large private groups?
It doesn't have a large indoor space, however there is space outside that could probably be used but it depends on how large your party is. 10-15 people would work. Anything larger than that would be challenging I think. Inside, there is an area off…
When is the best time to come eat here?
Weekends are very busy but it's better before 10 or after 1 p.m.
