Such a cool brunch spot with amazing views of lil planes taking on and off! Came on a Saturday afternoon & my group waited about 10-15 minutes which is super reasonable. I've heard the wait could be longer, but it's a popping place, so guess I got lucky! Anyways, how the restaurant works is you order your meal at the counter, pay, and then get seated. If you are coming with a party make sure they are all there once you get to the front of the line or they wont seat you until you do. We got seated outside but asked to switch to a better view of the planes & they were nice enough to help us switch tables. Service was super quick and we got our meals within 5 minutes. Staff was attentive & would always check up on us which I appreciated! I ordered a Rancher's Omelet which came with cheese, avocado, bacon, tomatoes with a side of their O'Brien potatoes & sourdough bread. The salsa on the side was the perfect spiciness I needed on top of the omelet. Flavors mixed well. Love the hot sauce selection of Tobasco & Cholula as well. However, only thing lacking for me were the O'Brien potatoes. Flavor-wise it needed more seasoning and depth in taste. Their milkshake seemed popular so I opted for a Coffee milkshake. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. It was so popular that we had trouble finding a place to park. Then there was a line to get in. Don't be dissuaded as the line moved very fast and they take orders in line and at the table. The result was very fast service. The food was top notch. This place has always had very good food but I feel like their ordering system is flawed. They used to seat you and take your order, but now you order and then they seat you. There's always a long line when you arrive because there's maybe one or two people taking orders and it feels like you waste half your time in line before you even get to grab a menu. It feels like it could be improved if they had QR code menus posted outside somewhere, or even just paper menus that were easily accessible to people waiting outside. But you have to wait for someone to be finished with a menu or staff to notice you to hand you one, and I personally find that frustrating. The ordering system is my only gripe with this place because the food and service have always been amazing. My personal favorite is their waffles. I think they taste like churros. And service is always great! They are always on top of your drinks and make sure that your coffee/soda is filled. My first Yelp review of 2024 is to tell you about a fantastic brunch place in Ventura County called Waypoint Cafe. As it has elements to make a great brunching spot: good food, fast/excellent service, serves alcohol and a great view. Lets start with service. When we arrived to the cafe, the line to get a table wrapped around the outside front of the cafe, although it did move pretty quickly. We waited probably 30 minutes. It was nice of Waypoint to serve small cups of coffee to the patrons in line outside, while waiting. With choice of indoor or outdoor seating, we sat indoor and tables accommodated large groups of 6-7 people (our group had 7). We ordered our food/paid at the door and then was seated. Food was promptly served and I was pleased with the attentive service who always checked on our big group to make sure our water was filled and needs met. Great portion sizes of food, would satisfy big appetites and taste pretty amazing. I got the Cinnamon French Toast combo (eggs how you like it and bacon or sausage, I choose bacon) for $20. My Bloody Mary, looked cute (see my pic) and taste light with not so much alcohol in it. Inside/outside decor or the building is nothing special to post on IG. Outside view was of planes taking off at Oxnard airport, which is kinda cool. Parking is a free with a moderately large lot. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 8AM till 3PM. This has always been my favorite local brunch spot. The location alone can't be beat. You know it's a well loved spot when the wait is always ridiculous. If you go at peak brunch time, be ready to wait at least an hour minimum. Totally worth it. I'm a huge fan of their milkshakes. It's so rich and always hits the spot. Their tri-tip is my personal favorite. I highly recommend their tri-tip caesar salad. The service here has always been amazing. They make you feel like you're visiting a relative's home while you're there. Everyone is just super friendly and welcoming. Don't be deterred by the wait. Today for lunch I got the Pepper Jack Turkey Melt (with no cheese cuz sadly my stomach doesn't allow for that). It was served on toasted garlic French bread with was an epic touch! Good amount of t of meat and avocado. Perfect size as well. Should have added Ortega chilis to make up for the lack of pepper jack :( (but that's my fault). I've been wanting to try this place for so long and finally got to come here yesterday around 2pm! We waited in line for about 20-25 minutes to order and then we're seated. We got seated on their large patio where you can watch planes and helicopters take off! Such a cool concept/place to eat! They also have a lawn in the patio and play area for children. The service we received was also great! They were super attentive and we got our shakes within 5 minutes of ordering and food within 10. After deciding between the spicy crispy chicken and pepperjack turkey melt, I decided to get the spicy crispy chicken and it was so good and filling! I wish the chicken was more salted and there was more sauce on the sandwich, but overall it was good. The peppers really made it better. My partner got the chicken and waffles and loved it! Their portions are huge (which is great cause it's a bit pricey). And their shakes!! We were skeptical at first cause they're $11-12 each but they are definitely worth it! So creamy and rich! Plus they also give you the extra in the cup they make it in instead of throwing it away. Overall, I would definitely come here again and bring people here to try. I love everything about this restaurant. My favorite being it's right at the airport. We landed here for breakfast and there was a massive line during the weekend but they move quickly. I had them do a veggie scramble no eggs and if you want it to be truly vegan, let them know to cook it away from the meat. I ordered and some meat pieces ended up in there. Stopped in for another visit and had to share an update. After a short wait we over heard the host talking about the fresh red snapper fish tacos. His description of fresh local caught fish, hand delivered in the AM, prepped and available only after 11am had me sold. The dish comes with 3 tacos, fried to perfection with the fresh accoutrements and a delicious crema sauce was absolutely some of the best fish tacos I've had! Served with "nacho chips" with their enchilada sauce and cheese melted on the the dish was absolutely fantastic! I also had to try their highly promoted dirty chai latte that tasted like fall in a cup! Vibrant notes of cinnamon and the chai favorites is the perfect drink for the season! First experience for a diner at a small municipal airport. First impression there's a full parking lot with line outside the door of maybe 50 people for a friday at noon. Line moves fairly quickly was in line for approximately 20 minutes before being seated. Ample amount of menus to look at while waiting. Ambiance inside is very nice with the options of indoor or patio dining just outside the hangars. Food service was quick and quality did not disappoint. I have been coming here for years with my family since I was college. The food and the service have been good usually. Over the years it got busier and honestly the service has gone down. I do like how you take the order before you seated, but I don't like how you have to tip before hand. The wait was an hour which I wouldn't mind if the food and service was good. The waiting option could be better;I would prefer if we could leave a phone number and then come back when it our turn and then take our order then and then be seated. That way we don't have to stand in the line especially in the heat, with a pregnant women and elderly parents it was getting warm. There is no where to sit while waiting in line. Also if a line is required to place an order the. To manage the line better because there was twice that someone tried to cut. If you go on a less busy day, it would be better. Today was the first time I've ever been there. We were a party of seven meeting there for Sunday brunch. I ordered the cinnamon French toast combo, with scrambled eggs and sausage patties. The only reason I ordered it was because the reviews gave good reviews, but Let me tell you I have Never ever tasted such horrible cinnamon French toast. The french toast was dry and the scrambled eggs were cold and the sausage patties were burnt. Not one person in our party was satisfied with the food. One of our guest ordered soft cooked bacon and asked the cashier if they could cook some for him if they didnt have any and she replied definitely. Needless to say it was stiff and cold and the person who brought our food said she'd go get different bacon, except she brought the same awful bacon back and said the chef said he didn't have anymore bacon, but later came by with perfectly cooked bacon, but threw the plate towards him and didn't say a word and walked away. I wish I would have written her name down to include it in this review. Needless to say, we will never be returning. EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK!! read more

Service with the food is very quick with the way they have you order ahead of time. We don't like but do, include a tip for service you have not received. It was so nice to see that they have installed misters over the patios to help keep the area cooler. We were very disappointed in the onion rings they served us because we always look forward to them. This place, hands down has the best service at a restaurant I have ever had. I have popped in a few times but most recently Mother's day (no reservations, silly I know) and even though we waited 2 hours, the line moved quickly, there were areas to sit down, a mini runway and control tower area (so cute being at an airport) for kiddos to get their wiggles out and complimentary treats like cinnamon rolls, coffee and water passed out to folks in line- how thoughtful! They are also soooo organized- the menu's start getting passed out toward the front of the line, you're given a number and you order and pay before you sit down. Once you sit down your food comes out quickly and efficiently. While you're sitting there is a good flow of communication between the staff and your table- can I clear this for you, can I get you anything, ect. I love that! Esp when I need water. We also were accommodated with a high chair, which was a thought before we even sat down. The staff is always so friendly and kind without being overwhelming. Lot's of smiles and mothers day wishes yesterday helped made my day great! Devon, the kind staff member who took our order was SO well versed with the menu and even suggested we put a fun twist on our Chicken caesar wrap by adding the buffalo chicken and some blue cheese to dip with bleu cheese crumbles on top- I only had a bite of this because I was already so full from my milkshake (woops) and a few bites of my tri-tip caesar salad. We love the patio dining area, it's covers and heaters keep you nice and warm. We've never eaten inside but the whole place seems to be spick and span clean as well. The food- the portions are huge- I barely made a dent on my salad before I was pleasantly full. The chicken ceasar wrap is also probably too portions and the milkshake could easily be shared by two! This time I opted for the vanilla milkshake which was a on the lighter side if you still wanna enjoy a milkshake, next time I am curious about the expresso shake. I was also surprised that the prices were align with the portion sizes imo- two meals (which are for 2/3 people with the size) and a shake for around $60.
