A family affair To sum up the weekend, we gathered here. At the private hangar entrance for the Camarillo airport with an active runway 20 embarked on the breakfast experience. We left happy. A line, a short wait and get it in. Marcello managed drums ie coffee, mimosa's, apple juice and espresso and latte's. The fun began in the waiting. I don't know the servers name but she managed 20 of us in grand style. The orders were delivered at the same time, hot, beautiful and yummy. We had such a variety and enjoyed it all.
This place is fabulous! Amazing food with amazing view ! Watching planes come in n out while enjoying a milkshake is very nice . My wife said she would pass on the chilaquiles tho . Service is quick too
This is a hidden gem! I have been coming here for years. Plethora of breakfast choices. Just let your server know how you want and they will happily accommodate you. There are a lot of changes since Covid in terms of diners style decor and efficient way of sitting guests to getting your food as fast as possible. Wednesday and Saturday are for Trip-tip that cooked outside. Mouthwatering smokiness that I can't resist on my salad with a side of Santa Maria dressing. All items have humongous portions that you can split or take home. Tacos, burritos, sandwiches, salads, and so much more. Don't forget the delectable shake. It is a fun family friendly place. It is a hit with kids especially if they like planes. You may be lucky to spot famous faces too. I would suggest getting seated out so you will have the view of the airport traffic. Always nice weather to enjoy with your group. Dog friendly too!
I had the chicken and waffles here. It was absolutely the best batch of chicken and waffles I have ever had. So crispy and the extra butter merged well with the chicken which made it very juicy. I highly recommend this order for when you go. In addition the service was efficient and easy. Ordering at the entrance and getting your seat after makes things operate smoothly. There was outside and inside dinning but with all the people it was still a very calm place to eat. Not so noisy at all. I will definitely be going here again.
Beautiful place, There is a wait time but worth it. You need to place and pay your order before being seated. The outside view of the planes is amazing. I had a burger and fries it was really good.
My sister in law recommended this place to have breakfast so we stopped by and boy were we satisfied! When we got there we ordered at the front before we were seated. So by the time we sat down the food was coming out. It was quick service. The day was nice and being able to sit outside near the planes was pleasant. Food was great. Waffles to die for! If you come definitely order a shake. Delicious!!! Here is all the food we ordered and a view of the outside patio.
Our hostess, Alma, was so kind and accommodating when our party of 4 were separated and only my wife and I were present( no reservations taken). She had us sit in a comfortable patio outside , with coffee and water. The attraction of this cafe' is it's on the Camarillo Airport landing zone. People stay all day watching many kinds of aircraft arrive and depart. When our friends arrived , Alma, put us to the front of the line to order and then showed us our patio table. So sweet and so professional. We all had burgers and milkshakes. Food, service, atmosphere all 5-star!
Back again! Like always food was delicious! Chilaquiles and chicken tacos were spot on. My husband enjoyed his mimosas and my tea was never empty. We sat inside today and admired how hard their employee work to make you happy. Every single person comes together. I wish more restaurants were like this. Great restaurant and great food!
Waypoint has become our annual tradition for Thanksgiving break week. Since my son is old enough now to also enjoy the planes viewing area, we knew we'd have a great breakfast experience. We got there right before a major rush so we got seated right away and had the choice to pick from inside and outside. There were plenty of people already wrapping up their early breakfast so we got a great view. I tried something new this time and hashbrown since I knew the O'Brien potatoes weren't my favorite from last time. I got the opened faced biscuits & gravy sandwich and subbed the sausage for bacon which was a great choice! Love their thick and crispy bacon! The gravy was so delicious and flavorful. My husband said the breakfast burrito was a bit on the greasy side but overall, really enjoyed our experience again.
It was a great day so we sat outside. The patio area was so nice and we got to see the planes and the county helicopter takeoff and land. The service was great! It was very busy that day and our food still came out in a great time. They have a little bit of everything. You'll for sure find something for everyone. The brisket l sandwich I got was really good and I definitely recommend it. My friends got brisket tacos and the other one got a salad with brisket in it. Both looked really good and they enjoyed their meal. Before I left, I had to get their well-known shakes. I got a coffee shake and it was probably my favorite shake I've ever had. I will definitely be back to try more of
Came here on a Friday morning for lunch. There was a long line which made me think their food is good. We waited about 30 min and when we got in, I didn't understand why there's a wait when there's a lot of empty tables inside. Anyway, we were guided to a register first and we placed our orders. It was more like pay now eat later. Our orders came fast. We ordered chicken fried steak and that was ok. Nothing special. The guava lemonade was really good. I suggest to dine outside if you like small planes.
I was in Camarillo for the weekend visiting some relatives. My aunt was keen on taking us to Waypoint Cafe for breakfast! We showed up early and waited in line for a few minutes before opening time. Whilst waiting, we looked at the menu so we'd be ready to order. Ordering is done up front then you are seated. I opted for the cinnamon roll and a guava mimosa. After sitting, it was only a few short minutes before all of the food was brought out. The mimosa was a generous portion and very delicious. I thought it had a good ratio of juice to champagne. The French toast was very good! It was sweet and rich but not too much. My family and I didn't speak much since we were very much enjoying our food. The style of the restaurant is very efficient but I never felt rushed. It's down to business with eating and seating but everyone was very helpful and kind. Overall, I had a good time at Waypoint! I'm sure my family and I shall return again :) definitely come early if you want to try it!
First off I guess I should've read more about this restaurant. It was near an airport kind of out-of-the-way. I didn't know you had to get in line and then order when you got to the front of the line. So someone came out and gave me a menu and I finally got in line with my husband. We weren't there that long maybe 10 to 15 minutes. So we got to the cashier and we ordered our breakfast. Then someone took us to our seats. Ashlie was our server but basically she brought out our food and our coffee. My husband and I both had coffee and I love the mugs and the coffee was pretty good. They even had the raw sugar we like. I had a Carnitas omelette with fruit and wheat toast. The omelette was pretty good, the fruit I would've liked some blueberries or something else. It had a lot of pineapple. Love the wheat toast. My husband had ham and eggs with hashbrowns. Hashbrowns were your typical he said the ham steak wasn't as good as some other places. They did come around and made sure we had coffee and water. And then it might've been the owner she brought us to go boxes. Great if you have kids cause you can sit outside and I believe you may even can bring your dogs. Inside look nice but we chose to sit outside. I like how they stagger the table so you're not next to people. But it was rather loud outside.

First time coming to this gem. I was invited here by my coworkers for breakfast/brunch. It's a quaint spot that is super popular. We met here at 10 and waited in line outside to get in. While you wait in line you get a menu so you can decide on what you're going to eat by the time you make it to the front of the line. Once in the front of the line, you place your order and pay before being seated. The line does move fairly quickly, we waited no more than about 20 minutes. Also, you get an option of inside or outside seating. We sat inside just because we were ready to eat (lol). Inside was nice and you can still see outside. Outside was the view of the Camarillo airport which is a small commercial airport located right outside of the restaurant. The food was delicious! I couldn't decide between the pancakes, French toast, or breakfast sandwich. I couldn't make a decision so I let the waiter decide. The breakfast was fresh, hot, and delicious. In addition to breakfast, I choose the tropical mimosa. The tropical mimosa was pineapple. Orange juice and cranberry juice mixed with champagne. The food arrived about 10 minutes after being seated and the drinks arrived within a few minutes of being seated. Everything was great from the food to the views and customer service. Since you order before seating. Different workers come around to refill your water and to make sure everything is okay. I definitely will be coming back to try something else on the menu. read more

Overall, really enjoyed my first visit- interesting menu, tasty food, fun to watch the planes! I'd give it a 4.5 if half stars were available with my main complaint being how loud it is (sat on the outdoor patio right next to the building, might be less loud in other spots). The service is interesting with how you order when you arrive, but it was easy to get the attention of the wandering servers once seated and everyone was very friendly. read more
I went here for a late brunch with family visiting town. Customer service is absolutely outstanding! Andrew the host was incredibly accommodating, especially with our two year old. He was able to quickly get our party of eight seated. The food was excellent. Their breakfast burrito and cinnamon roll was delish! The view of the planes was great and our son just loved them. Waypoint is just one of those places that you keep coming back to. As you sit there taking in the surroundings and feeling the cool breeze blowing off the ocean, you can't help but feel like you're on vacation somewhere that isn't in the middle of Camarillo! Service is always excellent and everyone is very friendly. Marcello was our server on this occasion, as well as on past visits, and he is just awesome! Whether you are here for breakfast or lunch, the food is always solid and they also offer good-sized portions. Lines can be long on the weekend and around lunch time during the week, however, it moves pretty quickly and it's worth the wait. Cool vibes inside, with music in the background, & sipping on a cold beer watching helicopters and planes come and go...what more can you ask for :) read more

I've been coming here for years and have just forgotten to do a review. About 5 years ago they switched to ordering up front, getting a number and finding a table, so no more table service. They'll run the food out to you and clean your table after so be sure to tip at least some at the register. It's a good place for breakfast and lunch, but there's almost always a line to get in so expect to wait. I've had a little of everything from here but on this occasion I had the country fried steak and eggs with hash browns. For the side I got the massive homemade biscuit and gravy which was my favorite part. Everything was good and extremely filling thanks to their portions. However nothing was amazing, it was all just decent and not worth the long wait. Luckily I came when the line wasn't that long, but have left in the past when I've seen a long line. To drink I opted for coffee, and that's where they lose points. The coffee was the worst swill I've ever tasted and no amount of little flavored creamers could mask the nasty burnt after taste. I wish they had proper creamer but they just have little single serving cups. The service is friendly, and fast as can be considering the popularity of this place. A staff member did offer to get me something else in lieu of the coffee when she asked how everything was and I made it a point to mention the toilet water they poured in my cup, but I stuck to water. It's fun for the little ones to see planes and helicopters taking off and landing. Patio dining is a favorite of mine as well. So overall ambiance is nice for a brunch spot. My gosh this place is probably one of the best breakfast places in Ventura County! Service is fast and good! Food is always amazing and in terms of price. I love this place!! I've been here several times and it's a great place to eat and possibly see a plane flying in! They do get busy so be prepared to order BEFORE you are seated! However don't worry, because you can order more after you sit! The food came out fast and hot! The atmosphere is great! Like i said, it' does get busy but you won't feel rushed. At least we didn't and we had a party of 10. read more
One of my favorite breakfast spots in Ventura County - and I seem to not be the only one who thinks so because this place is always PACKED when we come. They do things a bit differently here. You will stand in line outside and order at the counter. Afterward, you'll be seated and have your food brought out to you. A bit of a combination between counter service and a full sit-down. I've never come for lunch, only for breakfast - but their breakfast is done so well. I've have yet to find a dish that I don't like. Their omelets are always on point, and their breakfast tacos are also an enjoyable pick. Also do a wonderful mimosa - it was here that I was first introduced to the pineapple mimosa, and ever since then, that will always be my preferred juice over OJ. And they are generous with their mimosa, so just be aware. They allow dogs on their outside patio, so that's always a treat when you want to go out with your furry friend. Gets super lively here, so be prepared for it to be a bit loud. Overall, great spot for breakfast. You'll have to wait in line for a bit, but it's always worth it. read more

Searching for a view of airplanes and food? Look no further. This restaurant is it. The breakfast food here is so good. I would highly recommend the carnitas omelet (you can split it with someone else - they'll split it for you if you ask). The cinnamon roll is nice on the tastebuds also, just be prepared, it's big! No reservations here. This is a first come first serve kind of place so prepare to wait if there's a long line. Missing your fur baby? Bring them with you. Dogs are allowed here. There's inside and outside seating. Would recommend outside seating though, if you'd like to do some airplane watching. Something to note, the outside can also be loud due to some planes taking off. There's also a small area where you can let the munchkins or free spirited adults walk around to stare at some airplanes. All the staff were nice, friendly, and prompt with their service. read more

I can't believe I've never reviewed Waypoint before! I absolutely love, love this place! Every time I have family or friends visiting, I bring them here! The parking can be a little challenging, especially during peak hours but we've always been able to park before we got to the front of the line to order. The line-- sometimessss it can get pretty long, which can be brutal during the summer. But they have really spruced up their outdoor area where the line forms. They have shade for people waiting and they even put benches on the side. They will sometimes bring cups of water during the summer while you wait, which is super considerate of them. Just be prepared to wait 1-1.5 hours especially in the summer/ when the weather is nice and people are out to brunch! You can grab a menu to peruse while you wait and you order and pay when you get to the hostess right inside the doors. They will seat you (I recommend outdoor, even in the colder times bc they have heaters). The outdoor area has more of a view of the planes, so that always adds to the ambiance and experience of Waypoint. Now let's get to the most important part-- the FOOD! Honestly, nothing has been a miss here! And portions are big. One plate is usually enough for 2 people. Definitely get a biscuit! They're pretty large and so fluffy and delish, and that whipped butter is bomb. I have not had the gravy so I cannot comment on that. The cinnamon roll French toast is 9/10. So, so yummy and one order was enough for 5 (we had leftovers). Then we got a tuna melt, basic good. 7.5/10 but the fries were a 10/10 (with the ranch, maybe it's the ranch that was a 10/10 lol). The breakfast burrito was a 8.5/10 (we got it without bacon). I wish the salsa was spicy tho. We got the hash browns on the side, which were good. The veggie omelette was hefty and filling and also came with bread and hash browns. I've previously had a California omelette with no bacon and that was filling too. And the huevos rancheros were also a hit with my group when we went previously! I haven't tried the shakes yet but I've heard great things and will definitely try one the next time I visit! The food was pretty good and inside it was clean with such a cute ambiance. They decorated for Christmas. It was super cold so we decided on a booth inside. They're very comfortable. I'm short and usually have the problem of not reaching the table or the back of the booth but I could here. It had views of the patio and outside airfield which was pretty awesome. All the workers are very nice. The coffee was a little too bitter, one thing I loved being diabetic was all the sugar substitutes it gave me, I don't like sweet n low and they had real stevia and sf syrup. I've always wanted to come here but every time we drove by the line was out the door. Turns out the ordering style is diner traditional, order at the register, you get a number and they seat you fast, and serve you fast, delicious food. For as fast as they were and not being fast food I think it's worth it. If you're thinking "What's the point of tipping if they don't have a traditional server/waiter?" Don't. They're attentive. They come by often asking if you want refills, boxes, if everything tastes good, if you want anything else; they also clean up after you. And this was on a busy Saturday morning. The front and back of the house all deserve the extra that is needed to survive the restaurant industry. For two breakfasts, an extra side and a coffee w unlimited refills I tipped a little over 20% and it ran under $60. read more

My family and I chose this place for brunch one Sunday (keep in mind that the post-church crowd made the line long but it moves really quick.) I appreciate that you order and pay before you're sat that way the food comes soon after. They only had outside seating available but it was covered and near the tarmac so great view. First time here. Visiting, the line was long but it moved rather quickly. You order your food first and pay then they seat you. It's very efficient in my opinion! Once you are seated the food comes rather quickly. The food was great, multiple people checked in on us to see how we were doing. We had a great view of the planes coming in and out. This was a great experience. I highly recommend this place!! read more

The line is intimidating, but it actually moved faster than I thought it would. You order when you walk in and the food is brought out which makes it much faster. We sat outside, it was fun to watch the planes. The food was all very good. Get the sourdough toast. I would skip the French toast next time, but the chicken fried steak was delicious. I got the tuna salad sandwich with the garlic fries. This was the freshest sandwich I've ever had it paired nicely with the lettuce, it had a great crunch. Waypoint Cafe is one of my favorite Breakfast/Brunch spots in the 805. I've been here a handful of times for Brunch. Unless you're a local, you wouldn't know that they're located by the tiny Camarillo Airport. They have both indoor & outdoor seating. If you sit outside, you should be able to see mini planes take off or land nearby. I've seen many families dine here. It's cute to see all the lil ones light up when they see the lil planes. There's lots of open space for them to run around too. Even your fur babies are welcome here too. Quick Info: They are open Tuesday-Sunday 8am-3pm & offer American Cuisine for Breakfast & Lunch. You wait in line, place your order, pay, wait to get seated. Then, your food & drinks are brought to your table by different staff/servers. Just don't expect any table side service. Detailed Info: You line up in front of the restaurant. While you wait, look at the menu. Grab some menus from inside or look it up on your phone. Because, when you get inside they take your order. So you have to know what you want (Food & Drinks) before going inside. Place your order nicely with the smiling human. Then you pay for your food & drinks... Shortly, you get seated.... And before you know it, all your drinks & food are delivered quickly to your table... If you don't have any condiments at your table or if you're missing any sauces, then ask for it. They usually come & check if you have all you need & if everything is okay. Again, Just don't expect any table side service, just great service :D Yes the lines can be super long especially during peak times esp on the weekends. Weekdays are usually a shorter wait. I've previously waited 30-45 minutes, which isn't bad at all. I know of people who waited 1-2 hours. But, that's prolly Bec of a Holiday. My last visit was pretty quick. A 25 minute wait on a Saturday. But it helps to go early . Big Sized Portions, so come hungry. Everything I've had was so good. I'm usually ordering Breakfast when I visit. If you eat here during the weekends, be prepared to wait in line for atleast 15-30min. Depending on how crowded it is. We waited in line for a table, received a table number, waited in the same line to order food, and then were escorted to our table. The food itself for brunch was pretty decent. The portion sizes were definitely on the larger side. The milkshakes were a m a z i n g . We picked to be seated outside. The weather was nice and sunny out and we got seated in the shaded area. I would come again when I got time to wait in line on the weekends. read more

Ambiance: "We went for the planes"! This is a big kid playground for those in your life that love the "high" life . The planes and chill atmosphere is why I would recommend going to this restaurant at least once. Service: Be prepared for a line but it moves quickly. You order at the counter, are given a number, once seated your food is brought and the servers check-in on you periodically for any unmet needs. Everyone seems to enjoy working there and it shows in their service. Food: You get a lot for your money. Breakfast plate with cinnamon roll, eggs, and hash brown. Hubby enjoyed his meal. I thought it was WAY too much food . I had a tuna sandwich, fries, and pineapple juice. The juice tasted like it came from the can. My tuna sandwich unfortunately didn't agree with me once we got home but I enjoyed while at the restaurant. The first time I came to the restaurant I had the yogurt parfait. Beautiful presentation and lots of food. I am not sure if we would be back for the food but the planes for sure. There's a park area near the restaurant with seating area that I believe is open to the public. read more

Is it loud because of the airplanes?
I didn't find it to be loud due to airplanes. The restaurant was packed so the biggest sound issue was just other diners talking and clinking plates, silverware, etc. Nothing excessive, but definitely did not hear an airplane.
Does the restaurant look over the runway?
Yes it does outside is the best view of that but there are windows inside too.
Is breakfast served all day?
Yes but service is hit or miss. My burger was overdone and the person next to me was underdone. If you want a great breakfast go to Hidden Cafe in Camarillo springs. Traditional breakfasts and Hawaiian breakfasts.
Will you open for dinner Friday & Saturday night this summer?

Do you still offer chorizo and eggs breakfast plate; not the burrito?
When I went in January, it was a plate, not a burrito.
How long is the wait on a Saturday morning? Also, do all the outdoor seats have a good view of the planes coming & going? Or do we have to request those seats? Thank you!
The wait was about 15 minutes last time I went. All the outside tables will do, though the tables that aren't under the covered patio are better for spotting the planes coming in.
Do they offer to go/ takeout?
As I know if they don't. But, of course they let you take out the left over food after your meal.
Do they take reservations for Sunday brunch?
Unfortunately NO...but so worth the wait👍🏻
Does Waypoint allow dogs in their outdoor seating area?
Yes they do. We have brought our dog several times as long as he is on a leash. Also, there is a local older dog who wanders the area and comes and goes as he pleases. He belongs to one of the hangar workers nearby the restaurant. Everyone greets…
Do they have a room/ area for large private groups?
It doesn't have a large indoor space, however there is space outside that could probably be used but it depends on how large your party is. 10-15 people would work. Anything larger than that would be challenging I think. Inside, there is an area off…
When is the best time to come eat here?
Weekends are very busy but it's better before 10 or after 1 p.m.
