Happy hour drinks

Waxin is always a treat, we normally go to their Palm Beach Gardens location. This time we tried the West Palm Beach and just as good. I like this location a bit better since they have a bigger bar. They have a nice size dining room and able to fit larger group. Everything we ordered was off of happy hour menu. The fish taco was really nice, tasty and good size, burger was nicely done but the fries was very salty. The meatball came out cold, but the bartender took care of it right away. Overall good spot, I think the food had room to grow. We will give them a try again another time and see!

Still love this place but they need to take that chocolate dome off the dessert menu. It is very gross. Who wants salsa and chocolate together?

Decided to try the new location that opened on Clematis. The service was on point, granted the restaurant was pretty empty for early dinner service. We got there at 6:30pm. The food came out pretty quickly and while the food runner "jumped the gun" and delivered our food at different times, our server made up for it by bringing us a complimentary cocktail. (More like a mocktail but I guess it's the thought that counts!) The overall vibe is pretty chill and the setting was sexy enough for me to feel like I wasn't in a dive bar. If you do go be sure to venture into their "members only" spot located by the bathrooms which we stumbled upon! Overall a good experience!

I was invited here for a birthday party on a Tuesday night. Found metered parking on clematis close by. Our party was already seated. This was all of our first time here so we pondered over what to order. I went with the black truffle linguine because it seemed to be a popular choice. It was quite delicious. Overall we had a good time celebrating the birthday girl.

My husband and I came to Waxins with two friends during their opening weekend, and the place was packed. We were seated near to Eric Trump and his Secret Service agents--getting side-eye from them definitely made for an interesting evening, haha. We started with an espresso martini and the Midsomer Old Fashioned, both delicious, though the Old Fashioned was served with regular ice instead of a large cube, which felt off for a $16 cocktail. We shared the Swedish platter appetizer--tasty, but very small for the price, so we had to order two. I had the tenderloin pasta, and we also ordered the Wallenbergare with risotto and broccolini. The risotto was just okay and the broccolini was bland. The best dish there was the tenderloin pasta. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, but the music was so loud during dinner that conversation was difficult. Dinner for the two of us was $155. Great spot for drinks and energy. Since it was opening weekend, I'd be willing to give it another try once they fine-tune a few things.

Waxin's on Clematis opened only about a week before a friend and I showed up for happy hour. It's a lovely looking space with an upscale interior, while the full-size windows (almost floor to ceiling) facing Clematis remain open (or they do in good weather, anyway). It's also on a corner, so there's a lot to see and hear. There's a private back room that can be booked for celebratory occasions (or whatever), and then there's the bar and dining room. We sat at the bar. We had a few bartenders over the course of our two-plus hours there, and all were professional, competent, and friendly. I started off with a couple tequila cocktails, the 'zesty cucumber blaze.' I liked them, and they were even better at happy hour prices. My friend just had a couple Grey Goose on the rocks. We later had glasses of Prosecco, and then we absolutely had to try their very popular 'Hotshot, an enticing concoction of vanilla liqueur, hot espresso and whipped cream. Those were so good we ordered another round. As for food, we had Toast Skagen, peeled shrimp, horseradish, lemon dill mayo over butter-fried toast. That was very good -- shrimp, mayo, lemon and butter toast -- what's not to love? I can't remember anything else. I barely remember leaving, but I ubered so it's ok. We had a great time, but the prices are Expensive!

This spot opened around Thanksgiving, and I finally had the chance to check it out the day before Christmas Eve during happy hour. It's a Swedish-American restaurant, though on this visit I didn't try any of the Swedish dishes--saving that for next time. I ordered the happy hour Old Fashioned for $8 and also tried the Midsommar Old Fashioned ($16), which is not included on the happy hour menu. The Midsommar is made with bourbon, house-infused blackberry and rosemary syrup, and Angostura bitters--very smooth and well-balanced. For food, I went with the happy hour burger, priced at $15 (regularly $24). It's made with Angus beef, aged cheddar, thin red onion, Bibb lettuce, red cabbage slaw, truffle mayo, and comes with French fries. The burger was good, though not the best I've had. The ambiance is very nice, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout my visit. Overall, a solid experience, and I'll definitely be back to try some of their Swedish menu options.

You simply tell Vincent what you're craving, and he conjures it with a flick of the wrist, a dash of bitters, and probably some ancient incantation whispered under his breath. If you're lucky enough to find yourself in this enchanted hideaway on the one night a week it's open, let Vincent work his craft. We came on a Tuesday night and had plenty of choice for seating both inside and out. We sat outside and the rooftop view is stunning and really sets the tone for the night. It's the kind of place you can settle into and enjoy your time without feeling rushed. We were here from 7 to 11PM. Natalia was our server and she was awesome. Super friendly, checked on us just the right amount and made the whole dinner feel easy. I had the surf and turf which was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. My dining partner ordered the salmon and loved it just as much. I had a few Palomas and honestly lost count at some point which probably says everything about how good they were. Between the food the drinks the service and the view this place really gets it right and I'd definitely come back and recommend it.

Needed more of something to feel Brazil carnival Food--I ordered from main menu "Kimchi fried rice," which is one of my favorite dishes. I lived in South Korea for a year. I noted that the pork belly in my kimchi fried rice was very hard and chewy (overcooked) which should not be the case. Otherwise I could taste the kimchi which was good. Around the table, there were fried chicken wings, a big juicy burger, French fries (very tasty) and one of my cousins have the special skewered chicken from the Brazilian menu. She reported the chicken to be very bland despite its colorful appearance. All in all, everyone said, their food was "OK." The specialty drinks, Caipirinha (X 2) were good. Service was wonderful --our server Susan checked on us often. She was very attentive (we did pay for a reserved table & attention, I suppose). The manager checked on us twice to make sure we were having a good time and we were - generally speaking. It's a beautiful rooftop. For the manger & waitress, I would return and I'll give the kimchi fried rice another try as well - don't overcook and cook even more in caste iron dish. Cheers!

I picked Batch while walking by because it had the cutest vibe but we weren't expecting much. We were greeted by Rachel, the manager, at the host stand. She didn't just lead us to our table, she walked with us. She asked us if we were from the area and what brought us in. It was all small talk but felt genuine. She waited until we were seated to hand us or menus and it didn't feel rushed. Gabby, our server, showed confidence and love for the place when she introduced herself. They make everything from scratch here and Gabby sold us on the eggrolls and mac and cheese to start. However, before those could arrive, Rachel came by with an order of biscuits for us. These were absolutely to die for and the gesture was very kind. The eggrolls, bbq sauce, and ranch were the highlight of our food adventure here. You could tell this was all freshly made. We both ordered burgers and those were very good, hearty, and not greasy. Their house sauce B1 added a perfect element of smokiness to the burger. Gabby's service ensured we always had refills, never had to ask for anything, and the table was always clean. Rachel stopped by and checked on us and also gave us cute glasses to take home with us and coupons to come back for happy hour for some "off menu snacking". So if you're asking if Batch does things differently, they absolutely do. We can't wait to bring our friends next time. Ask for Rachel and Gabby and don't sleep on the eggrolls!

The vibe is super cool, cozy seating, great ambience, dim lighting that feels like a hidden gem. I sat on the comfy couch and ordered sushi from OKA, which was honestly better than ever. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The cocktails were delicious too; strong, creative, and exactly what I wanted for a chill night out. I was having a great time, enjoying my meal and drinks, when disaster struck right at the end. I had literally just finished eating when a huge roach crawled right by my feet on the couch area. It was massive and absolutely disgusting. I jumped out of my seat so fast, thankfully I was done with my food, or I probably would've lost it completely. I didn't scream (which is a miracle because I definitely would have at home), but it was such a gross turn-off. I get that this is Lake Worth and Florida has its bugs, but come on, a roach that big in a dining establishment? That's not okay. You really need to step up the pest control. Also, the bathrooms could use some serious help. They're outdated and feel neglected, definitely in need of an update or renovation to match the rest of the cool vibe. Overall, the sushi shines, the drinks are spot-on, and the atmosphere is fun... but that roach ruined the ending for me, and the bathrooms don't help. Fix those things, and this place could be amazing. Hoping it was just a one-off bad night!

The wait was pretty long but the bar was first come first serve so we hoped to snag a spot there instead. The restaurant itself is tight. I ordered "The Crush" which had green grapes in it. It was so refreshing and delicious!! It's been a couple of weeks since we went and I'm still thinking about how good that drink was. I forgot what my bf got to drink but he enjoyed it as well. Finally some seats opened up at the bar and we were able to sit there and I'm so glad we did. The food is absolutely worth coming back here for, the tuna tartare was also fantastic. The deviled eggs were okay, but I'm not a good judge for them as I'm not a huge deviled eggs person. My favorite items were the chicken meatballs (perfect texture, with the right amount of spicy mustard) and the prime rib sandwich (the bread was soft, steak was juicy and tender, horseradish was creamy). ALL of our dishes, however, were soooo good, and I'd order any of them a second time! Small seating area inside (just a few tables and bar seats), and they don't accept reservations, so expect to wait a little bit. The inside is dark, with warm lighting and big leather booths; you don't feel like you're in south Florida anymore, it's a northern cozy vibe. Our waiter was also excellent, attentive and efficient, he also made sure everything flowed smoothly throughout our meal. That said, there were a few downsides. Upon arrival, valet service was disappointing. Several employees were standing around talking while only one person was actively working, which caused unnecessary delays. Both the car in front of us and our own were left waiting longer than expected. Food-wise, while everything was good, my meal arrived warm rather than hot, which took away from the experience a bit. Also, our food did not arrive at the same time. For a restaurant at this level, I expected better attention to that detail. Dessert was also a bit underwhelming visually as I was expecting something more polished and presentable to match the overall aesthetic of the restaurant. Overall, RH delivers on atmosphere and service at the table, but tightening up the valet experience and food presentation/temperature would really elevate it to the next level.
