Grilled bourbon swordfish, onion rings, & cornbread

Stopped in for takeout this evening, have not had a bad meal yet. Swordfish was perfectly cooked and we even picked up a side of onion rings and cornbread. Food here is always fresh.

If you've followed along on any of my reviews at seafood places, you'll hear me say it over and over again - i am very picky when it comes to where I get my seafood. You can get serious food poisoning if the seafood isn't cooked right or kept at the right temperatures. When I entered waves seafood market, the first thing I noticed was the shop's smell. You knew you were in a seafood store but it did not smell like one...and that's saying something! Already impressed with the smell and overall clean feel of the store, the seafood looked fresh and delicious too! We decided to grab some food and eat in to enjoy it as fresh as possible. Let me tell you, I grew up by Wolly Beach where everyone goes to Tony's or the Clam Box for seafood. Waves is WAYYYY BETTER, dare I say not even comparable. It's super fresh, not even a bit soggy, and not greasy. The seafood is plump, juicy, prepared properly, and well seasoned. It was also way more affordable than Tony's or the Clam Box. I also really like that they do non-fried items too for those who aren't feeling fried seafood but still want seafood! The staff was also a highlight. Every single one of them weren't just friendly and pleasant, they were all also very hospitable. They checked in on us 3 times while we were there. Made sure we had Silverware and enough sauces. They took initiative to learn more about their customers and checked in on the food quality. Overall, I'm going to be a frequent visitor and will refer all my south shore friends here. I hope they continue to keep their prices, service, and quality consistent for years to come!

Baked seafood trio for the win!!

Came for the baked. Sick of the fried. Food is tasty. Seasoned just enough, portion is enough for left overs. I love it here! One of the owners, Kara, I believe, came out and greeted us. Very clean, does not smell fishy at all. Will definitely be back!

I was in the mood for some classic New England seafood after work on day and found Waves on Yelp. It wasn't too far away so we decided to try it out! We ordered ahead since they were closing at 6 that day, and the food was ready right as we arrived 15 minutes later. The interior is very clean and simple, a counter with their fresh seafood and an area with homemade items to go and sauces + drinks. There were a couple of 2 person tables inside but we opted to sit outside to take advantage of the nice weather. I shared a fried seafood platter and cold lobster roll with my partner. The quality of the seafood was a lot better than what we've had a few weeks earlier in the Cape and the portions were loaded. The fried scallops, clams, shrimp and fish were all piping hot, and the lobster roll was refreshing and delicious. One of the owners came outside to chat with us for a bit and they were extremely hospitable and down to earth. I'll definitely be coming back to Waves in the near future to fulfill similar cravings and buy some fresh seafood as well!

My partner and I got the lobster roll, 2 way fried combo (whole belly clams and haddock), and cornbread - TASTE: 4/5 - loved the fresh lobster and its buttered roll. Everything was tasty and well seasoned, including the breading of the fried combo, plus the flavorful coleslaw and sweet cornbread TEXTURE: 5/5 - nicely fried all around, satisfying and not too heavy PRICE: 4/5 - great for the quality seafood, both the cooked options and fresh market items. Looking forward to coming back for more! SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - filled us up for dinner and brought some fries home SERVICE: 4/5 - ordered online and our food was ready by the time we arrived to pick it up 20min later. The staff was super nice, and the additional to-go food on the shelves is also all made by Waves ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - a bright, open, and modern space. Glad they had a few small tables; we decided to enjoy our food there instead of waiting til we were home PARKING: 5/5 - just enough spots in their dedicated parking lot

Everyone said if your going ro Boston you must eat seafood. Well I'm not a big fan of alot of seafood. But Lobster is one thing I will eat, so off we went to get a Lobster roll.. I would have preferred the roll warm I didn't hate it. I found it very tasty. The bread it was on was warm, toasted and full of Lobster. Even the fry's were good. The Lobster bisque was the best I ever had. The clam chowder was not for me, so I can only tell you my friend said it was delish. This is a small place. Take out only. Very clean. Staff was very nice.

I always go to the same place for seafood around Quincy until one day, my partner's mom told me to check out this market and recommended their fried oyster. We got this in additional to some fried scallops and whole belly clams. The food was great and the employees working there were really nice. I'm glad I've found another great option for seafood whenever I'm around the area.

Seems like they learned how to make it from someone and then taught their workers and that's why they have a good crispy fried chicken but other than that, they haven't bothered to perfect it with seasoning or care to make sure they have quality oil. Just being honest! The waffle fries were okay but for an extra 3.50$ I got like 8 fries... that again, were fried in like old tasting oil. The whole meal just felt very unhealthy lol regardless of it being unhealthy. You don't want to feel like garbage while eating it? You know what I mean? Haha. Also ordered the brownie sundae and I was honestly disappointed by the taste of this icecream... i don't know what it was but it just tasted like it had frost bite or something, the flavor was just off. I got moosetracks and Oreo as a base and really just didn't enjoy it. Aside from the actual food, the service was fine. They were nice. Charged me 1.99 as a mandatory delivery fee when ordering "pick-up" online.. that was weird. Seems like they're lowkey scamming people for a few extra coins but that racks up depending on how many people are ordering "pick-up" and picking up even though they're paying 4$ in taxes and the extra 2$ delivery fee. I'll attach a pic of the receipt for proof. That's like an extra 6-7$ they're making off people every order placed through their online portal. Last thing to mention, when picking up the order at the window the cashier placed my plastic spoon directly on the counter? lol. Ew? Why not hand it to me?? Or place it on a napkin. I can only imagine what else they're doing that's unsanitary in the back. All in all, won't be coming back and will not be recommending to anyone.

Having been, now, a few times, I think the reviews are a bit understated. it is fresh, fast, kind. At least that's the version of the story we've always gone by. The usual menu (since I was a tiny tot) has always included: pasta with lobster, baked stuffed shrimp, bacala (salt cod) salad, another bacala dish; this one with a marinara sauce, pan-fried smelts, clams one way or another; often casino-style, calamari, and then whatever else suits us that year to total at least seven dishes. While I didn't appreciate aspects of this meal when I was a kid (read: any bacala dish), it's now probably my favorite holiday feast bar none with any and all bacala included. While I usually get my fish at Rockyneck no matter what time of year, the day or two leading up to Christmas Eve is when we've got to buckle down. The crowd is coming. Rockyneck doesn't steer us wrong. It's actually inside the Hingham Fruit Center, a store I love and which I've reviewed separately. It consists of one large seafood counter within the larger grocery store and is its own business. I'm generally impressed with the freshness, quality and taste of the seafood they carry. The look of the fish is always pristine and I never hesitate over any of their offerings. The staff is attentive, friendly and helpful and will do their best to get you the very best of what you need when you need it. Christmas Eve notwithstanding, this place is a conveniently located little gem.

The lady was so friendly, making sure we had enough spoons and cups of water. The chowder was thick and creamy with chunks of seafood. I am not usually fans of fried seafood. However, the fried shrimps and fried oysters here were so good that the batter didn't adulterate the freshness of the shrimps and oysters at all. Both were cooked to perfection without being dry. As I was watching the light snow flurries outside the windows, I was thinking to myself that I was lucky to still enjoy some fresh seafood here as the temperatures are dropping.
