Picked up two pounds of mussels earlier today and noticed one of them was wide open as she was weighing them. I should have told her to the put them back. As soon as I opened the box when I got home, it was apparent that 90% of them were dead already. I'm not sure that I would trust the freshness of any of the food here. read more

Stopped in for lunch. The service was great, very friendly. The $1.00 oysters (Wed. special) were freshly shucked and chilled, served on ice. The fried calamari was cooked to perfection and served with a side of mild peppers and aioli. Informal, order at the counter and eat in or take out. The French fries were hot and delicious. Nice selection of beer and wine. Everything was fresh. Worth a try if looking for delicious seafood. Nice menu. Check it out! read more

I posted about getting 3 whole belly clams in my to go clam roll . No response from owner, of course! I want my money back!

My husband came in for some seafood, especially for the fish and chips and the seafood platter. First of all, dinner was absolutely ruined. Didn't even eat it. Batter was falling off, and the fries were oily as hell. Just visually nauseating. Service was great actually, for once. Don't even dare calling or visiting this place, refunding will always be store credit to just spend more money. Can't have your own money back in full. Spoke with the owner, seemed like she didn't care. A people pleaser, and not genuinely concerned. Prices are insane. read more

I tried and was disappointed in the meal. And also servers/cashier. Any and all remarks from customer are important to heed. I am not sure I will try again. It has had many good reviews on FB. read more

Ordered via a delivery app. Food was super fresh with huge portions!!! Only feedback I have is to make ordering extra tartar sauce a separate item. read more

Waves Seafood - Fish & Chips with Fries and Cole Slaw. - Seafood Near Me - Braintree, Massachusetts

Great food and service nice setup good location and quiet dining I recommend this establishment wholeheartedly

I agree with the guy who said there are fake reviews on this site. I am local, so I've tried them several times. Each time I am saddened. The front of the house does not want to be there. I only order fresh fish. When I ask is is fresh- they kind of look at me and reluctantly nod. I asked for a half pound, and they give me 3/4 of a pound. Now if you don't want to serve 1/2 pound, say we don't do that. But don't over charge and act as if nothing is wrong. I usually say something but the attitude is not worth it. Try Burke's in Quincy where they don't demean you for ordering small portions- and they know how to cut fish. Or Whole Foods- at least you won't be overcharged. I'm done giving them my business. It is obvious th efront of the house has not been in the service industry before by the way they wait on people. Depressing. read more

I ordered 7 steamed lobsters and clam strips for takeout and everything was wonderful! The lobsters were big and delicious and the strips were fried perfectly ! The staff was so kind and friendly, even when they were very busy. Our food was fresh and delicious and I highly recommend Waves. read more

The seafood is fresh. Everything is made to order so be patient on waiting for takeout.

I was really excited to find a place closer to home than Lobster Stop for fried seafood that's opened all year. The murals outside are fun and the inside was very clean. They offer a selection of cooked items and a variety of fresh seafood, including live lobsters. There's also some ready to use ingredients in the fridge sections and packages of dry pastas. Don't expect friendly service. The lady who took our order looked like she'd rather be on a Caribbean cruise instead. Hubby & I both ordered 2 way fried combo - whole clams & haddock to go...took about 15 minutes for our orders. Got home, and to our surprise, the fish was missing - they gave us fried scallops instead. Had to bring it back, and the cook came out to apologize for the mistake and fried up the fish for us, which took another 10 minutes. Needless to say, everything was soggy by the time we got home to eat. Food wasn't bad but portions were smaller than McKay's & Loster Stop. I really liked their coleslaw...it wasn't drowning in mayo! My favorite spots are still Tony's & Clam Box. read more

Plus i carried out some seafood salad and scallops wrapped with bacon that i am eating now. This new seafood amd take out market is located in East Braintree. It is worth the ride wherever you come from. Food is cooked order,it is worth the wait. WAVES is now my go to, take out, pick up seafood place to go! Sabrina G. read more

I have gotten food from here a few times since it opened and each time it has been consistently and reliably delicious. I usually order the seafood platter because I like whole-body clams and it's hard to find them outside of the New England area. The clam chowder is also a favorite. I don't live in Boston but I always look forward to going by when I visit family area. The service is great and so is the bright ambiance. But mostly I go for the food. At some point, I would love to try something from the fish counter because it always looks fresh! read more

We just took out our first order today. The people were very nice to me, who has trouble walking. They carried the bag to my car and helped me down from the curb. We got three soups and three seafood plates. Mine was very delicious plus I tasted a clam chowder and will definitely order that next time. The only reason they did not get 5 stars is my husband only got 8 scallops in his plate and wanted more. I had clam strips and a large portion and sooo good. If you have not visited this place put it on your list I know you will love it. read more

We ordered here and everything was amazing!! Good portions for the price, fresh seafood and quick service!! Ill be back for sure!!

I'm from Los Angeles and was visiting family in Braintree. I was craving some fresh seafood and I happened to stumble across this restaurant while on my visit. It was such a great eating experience. I was greeted when I walked in and the restaurant was nice and clean. I asked for suggestions and ultimately decided on the lobster roll. It was absolutely delicious! Can't go wrong with the fresh lobster and the buttery roll. I also liked how they had seafood items packaged and ready to buy like the grocery store. When I come back to town, this spot will definitely be on my "go to" list. read more

I heard great things about this place so I went and tried it out. There were maybe 5 other people in the restaurant who placed orders for take-out (I was going for eat-in) after I had place my order for a clam and scallop dinner. It was a good 20 minutes before I got my order and the people who had come in after me had already gotten their meals and left. The meal itself was alright but it wasn't hot. It's like they forgot about serving me. Not sure if I'd go again read more

Finally made it to this restaurant and the seafood is fresh!! Went yesterday and today! The service is friendly and had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, super sweet and accommodating. The atmosphere is pleasant and inviting! Highly recommend!! read more

Today was my second time ordering from Waves. We ordered baked haddock plates (2) and clam chowder, and when we went inside to pick up we added lobster mac & cheese and seafood salad. The baked haddock was a lot more food than I was expecting for the price, and it was extremely fresh. The clam chowder - the best I've had in Boston, which actually surprised me. Neither of us got to the seafood salad or lobster mac & cheese and we didn't finish the clam chowder, because this was honestly more food than we planned to eat. Would definitely recommend. read more

My second visit to Waves Seafood on Quincy Ave in Braintree did not disappoint. I bought 2 pounds of deliciously fresh swordfish. I like it a bit on the thick size to grill. Patti and Mary took care of that. They made sure I got exactly the cut I wanted. I didn't take a picture of my dinner but it was a hit. Clean. Fresh. Great service. Thank you Patti and Mary. You have to try Waves. It is great. read more

I have had the fish and chips. It was very fresh and the portion size was big enough for two people. The entire staff was extremely friendly! I can't recommend this place enough! read more

Prices in line with other places. Fresh seafood case had good looking fish. Whole belly clam plate was more clam strips than belly. Very dissappointed especially for $22. I would not get them again. Owner working the counter was very nice the other staff could use some customer service training. Food came out quick. Clean store. Overall average. read more

Went for lunch on a Saturday. Fish and chips were fresh; the fish was top-notch and the fries were average. Shrimp roll was very good and very filling. Their lower prices reflect reasonable serving sizes rather than the monster sizes we see at a lot of places. The staff were very friendly. Wait was a bit so recommend ordering ahead. read more

Wanted some seafood, but instead found a 40 minute wait. That 40 minute wait then turned into an hour and a half wait. The food that was not good enough to be waiting for that long. I would give a zero if that were an option, still mourning all the time I will never be getting back. read more

Was in the mood for fish and found Waves online. Ordered from their website. Staff was friendly, and the food was ready when I arrived. Ordered fish & chips and a combo of fish and clams, both came with fries and cole slaw. Fish was fresh and lighty battered, perfectly fried without a trace of oil in takeout container. The store has a nice display of fresh fish and chowder for purchase. read more
