John of God is a mystic/medium in Brazil, and his chromotherapy-style lamp uses 7 quartz crystals to clean and strengthen your chakras by sending corresponding chakra-colored lights through crystal-clear, highly polished Vogel-cut clear quartz crystals and onto your chakra centers from 12" above your body. Please research this healing practice (ie, lamp/bed) online for more specifics on how this healing practice works. YouTube even has videos of Oprah's interview with John of God. For best results, arrive well hydrated and wearing white clothing from head to toe. After my 40 minute session, I felt a little spacey but had some insights as if I had been in a light meditative state. I felt rejuvenated! After the crystal bed session, Rev. Christopher Gallagher printed out a short but informative eastern numerology report about me; led me in Kundalini meditation mantras/music personalized to my numerology; and did a Reiki healing on my leg. After, we talked about gong healing; both New Thought and Science of Mind beliefs; Sikhism; Reiki; and even Sukyo Mahikari. I was in such a state of love and light after I left for the grocery that the cashier at Fry's noticed and asked me if I was in love!!!! LOL! I told her no but that I had done chakra therapy and Kundalini mantras! Specifically, Guru Kram Gallagher is an Inuitive Healer, Reiki Master/Teacher; Gong Master/Teacher; Kundalini Yoga Certified Teacher; Science of Mind practitioner; and New Thought minister. He provides numerous services and insights at his establishment and events around the city. Please review his website for more information, his calendar of events, and further contact information. My experience with Terri was outstanding. Very easy to book online. I had an at home private…read moresession and attended a meditation sound bowl healing class with a friend at the Shantiful studio. Both experiences were unique yet similar: * The studio session was relaxing to the point that my racing mind was able to go blank for a decent period of time, just absorbing the vibrations of the bowls echoing in the room. * The private session made me feel grounded especially being outside in the grass with the mixed in sounds of nature. I will definitly be brining more friends to the class sessions and hope to host a private event featuring Terri as well because everyone should get to experience the peace her sound meditation will bring you!

It can be a little bit hard to find if you've never been, as it's incorporated into a church campus and the sign isn't very obvious. The class that we tried incorporated a sound bath at the end, and the yoga flow itself was very low-key and simple. We loved the sound bath, and I find that it does help with meditation and relaxation. I'm an experienced yogi, so this class felt extremely easy for me. The only downside to the class is that it was extremely full, so I didn't feel comfortable fully stretching in some positions because I didn't want to hit my neighbor. I'm sure that I'll be back again to try another class!

I have been practicing yoga for almost 12 years (certified and concentrating in ashtanga for four)…read moreand had spent time in Mysore, Pune and Thailand with some very excellent and giving teachers. Since moving to AZ I have been researching studios, calling, attending and conversing with different practitioners. I never disclose my previous experience, instead presenting a guiless attitude. I had an unfortunate phone conversation with a woman who said she was Mishell, the owner of Eightlim yoga. In this conversation I asked about her schedule, style and fees (not mentioning I had already reviewed her website). In this conversation she misrepresented her studio's offerings: 1) That she offered many classes convenient to my schedule (at the time of this review most of EIghtlim's classes are scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM). 2) She was unable to define her own cerifications or lineage of teaching, referring to Eric Faquir (a Google Search brings up a website from 2005 where his most recent cert is as a Hypnotist) 3) She quoted a monthly fee of $130, and when I mentioned I heard of an introductory offer of $45, she backpedalled and said, "Oh yes, I forgot about that one..."?!? When I asked where her "Intermediate" offerings (as described on her website) fit in relation to Jois' Secondary series or Classical Ashtanga she became short and in an irate tone said, "I'm not going to go through all of this over the phone." Perhaps she was having a bad day, but not very Shanti. I don't think I'll be dropping in to Eightlim anytime soon.

She doesn't do a same "routine" every classes, which I like because its fun to try new things and it mixes it up. This isn't "hot yoga," but the room is kept a little warm and you can get quite sweaty if there are a lot of people in the class. While the yoga is stellar, the medicine ball class is THE BEST workout I have ever done. I wish my fitness boot camp were like this. I was sore for 2 solid days afterwards, but the good sore where I justified eating ice cream because I did such a good workout. The only reason I docked this studio a star is because of their prices. I had a cheap month thanks to a Groupon, but the normal monthly cost of this studio is more than my student loan payments. I LOVED the classes/teachers/variety/location of this studio, but I cannot justify spending well over $100/month to keep going here. I guess I'll keep trying my luck at 24 Hour Fitness? eek.

My wife had suggested long ago that I join her in her yoga classes with Amy Tyre, but being stubborn (and male) I declined.  Finally because of her ongoing prodding I decided to join her during a zoom yoga class.  Before submitting to the class, I discussed my back history and limitations with Amy.  She thought for a moment and gave me specific counsel on how to alter some of her instructions to protect my spine from rotating.  I hate to admit it,  but within 2 weeks of 2 x per week yoga classes with Amy, I am totally free of back pain.  I always thought my core strength was excellent and that Yoga was just for stretching and emotional wellbeing-   I WAS WRONG.  My wife was correct.  I plan to recommend Amy's classes to any of my open minded patients who need work on core strength and stretching. I look forward to the classes, I bought my own yoga blocks, and I am hooked!   I asked my wife she had not suggested long ago that I join her in her yoga classes with Amy Tyres!?
