I've taken many yoga classes over the years, and I have never left one feeling as hurt and embarrassed as I did after attending the Hot 60 class with instructor Niru Gupta. I have a very tight back and limited mobility, so there are certain back-strengthening poses such as Cobra, Locust etc I'm simply unable to perform at this point. Toward the end of class, with less than 10 minutes remaining, the class transitioned into a back series. Rather than attempting poses I knew my body couldn't safely do, I quietly moved into Child's Pose and Pigeon Pose to continue stretching and listening to my body, which is something I believed yoga encouraged. Instead of checking in with me privately or asking if I was okay, I was asked to get up and leave the in front of everyone. I was told my poses were inappropriate, that this was not an "flow" series and it was insulting to the rest of the class. It was humiliating and completely contrary to everything I believe yoga represents. Yoga should be a place of acceptance, mindfulness, and meeting your body where it is not a place where you're publicly singled out because you're modifying poses to accommodate your physical limitations. I left the studio almost in tears. Afterward, I spoke with the assistant manager, who was incredibly kind, compassionate, and professional. She listened to my concerns and assured me she would escalate the situation to the head manager, and I truly appreciated the way she handled our conversation. Unfortunately, the experience itself has left such a negative impression that I will not be returning. I also cannot recommend this studio to anyone who views yoga as a safe and welcoming environment for all levels and abilities. My hope in sharing this review is not to attack anyone personally, but to encourage growth. I sincerely hope Niru Gupta reflects on this experience and approaches situations like this differently in the future. Not every student has the same level of flexibility, strength, or experience, and many people attend yoga specifically to improve those limitations. A brief private conversation or simple check-in would have been far more appropriate than publicly asking a student to leave. Every student deserves to feel respected, supported, and safe in a yoga class, regardless of their physical abilities. Sadly, that was not my experience here. read more

Had a great time at the Foundry! I heard many great things about it, and love how many locations they have so I could take a class depending on where I am that day. Came for a 530am Yoga class that may have been called Vikram? There was a male teacher who was very welcoming and kind from the second I met him, and felt very welcomed In the studio as a first timer surrounded by regulars. This class itself had less cues than your typical yoga class, but it was repetitive, so since it was my first time I had to look around a lot to see what we were doing, but it was easy to follow. I love that they have showers here so I was able to use it after class then get ready for work. I'm looking forward to trying more classes here! read more

I really miss this place. Always friendly, clean, and non-judgmental. I loved the way they stayed true to the yoga during the whole Bikram scandal and they added some other great offerings to stay agile in the market and provide variety. I've been coming here for years and been doing hot yoga for over 20. Just had windex sprayed 3 feet away from my face while resting at the end of class. Talked to Blythe about it and she was rude and dismissive. Only apologized passive aggressively after I pointed out that she had refused to during the entire conversation. She actually said that their cleaners were biodegradeable so it wasn't a big deal! WOW! Could've fooled me it smelled exactly like Windex. Zero empathy zero kindness, all ego! I'll never go back. I can walk in heels again. I can jump, I can run about 2 miles. That's all I could ever hope for. The foundation this studio gave me is invaluable. I look forward to returning for many maintenance classes! I love every single instructor here. I took everyone's class, and have no complaints at all. I took every class too. Hot Hiit, express bikram, 90 min bikram, basic bikram, Pilates, express Pilates, stretch for gymnastic bodies. They're all awesome, and they all helped me heal. I was not flexible when I started. I couldn't even walk in flip flops. I have nerve damage and I used to cry in pain just for breathing. I don't anymore. And my flexibility continues to increase. Pretty awesome. read more
