I've been coming here for a couple of years and love it. Alexis is friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I like that the group class size is small so you get extra attention with form corrections if needed, especially since I'm hypermobile. I was able to continue pilates during my pregnancy and Alexis always gave me modifications and made sure I was doing the exercises safely. Pilates definitely helped during the birthing process and for my recovery. I also really like that we use different equipment and change up the exercises so no two classes are exactly the same. read more

I started taking classes here a year ago and the pain I had for years in my hips and shoulder are gone. Alexis is a fantastic teacher, so knowledgeable about the body and even in group classes she guides students to strengthen weak areas. Classes are fun and challenging and the studio and equipment are immaculate. Jeri is also a great and experienced instructor, and the other students have been supportive, kind and welcoming. I wish I could give more stars! When I decided to try Pilates I looked into the big franchises. The membership prices seemed affordable, but when I dug a little deeper I found it was impossible to take a class. Every time slot for weeks had a waitlist, and I didn't want to wait a month to get started. I found Delta Pilates here on Yelp and thanks again to great Yelpers I reached out and started my journey. Alexis responded and I couldn't wait for my first class. I loved that they do an evaluation and require a few individual classes to make sure you're ready for group classes. They were mindful of my post-surgery issues, and have tons of experience working with a variety of health challenges, even offering to collaborate with my physical therapist. This is a fantastic Pilates studio. The equipment is top notch and very organized. The facility has been spotlessly clean every time I have been in. I am new to Scottsdale and Delta Pilates and this is a fantastic studio and the owner Alexis, who did my first private session, is knowledgeable, exceptionally professional and builds your confidence while she gently corrects what needs work. My experience with Pilates studio's has been positive both in California and Connecticut - but Delta Pilates is in a class by itself. I started going to delta Pilates in April of 2016. I hated going to the gym, and honestly I just don't like working out. So now almost two years later after starting at Delta Pilates, I have gained 10 pounds of pure muscle! This is huge because my main goal was to add muscle mass to a very small body frame. Alexis and her Delta Dolls are amazing. They never make me feel awkward for being weak, not knowing what I'm doing, or for failing to be graceful. They specialize my workouts for my body and always challenge me. They always have tips and tricks for things I could do at home, at work, or school to keep me from being stiff and tight. As a hyper mobile person they taught me how to be mindful of my body movements so that I will not inadvertently hurt myself. (As I am less than graceful...) Also, Pilates has proven to help with my anxiety. Most people don't understand how much an hour twice a week for yourself can help. Or maybe it just drains the crazy? Aside from being a fantastic Pilates instructor, Alexis is hilarious, compassionate, and a genuinely good person. She is extremely knowledgeable about Pilates, how the body works, and really aims to make Pilates your best experience. Sometimes I wake up the next day wondering if my abs were sore from the hundred or from how hard Alexis would make me laugh. She has bent over backwards to accommodate my crazy schedule as I work full time and am a part time law student. Despite my crazy schedule, I still manage to get into the studio twice a week, every week. I also try my best to do the homework/exercises the delta dolls give me at home. I am a Pilates beginner (one year) and more than happy with the training and philosophy at Delta Pilates. Alexis has a natural instinct to support my fitness goals and does it in a way that motivates me to keep going. If you're committed to the practice, she will create an ongoing platform to make it fun yet focused. I often get frustrated with my body's limitations but she finds alternative options and has the gift of patience! In the past year, I've made a lot of progress with abdominal strength, articulation and endurance. She also taught me how to properly breath with a workout to gain the maximum performance. The studio has the latest equipment, a friendly staff and treats customers in a great way! Alexis is the best Pilates teacher I've ever come across. She's extremely detail oriented and will notice if you're doing anything just slightly wrong. She offers positive correction and is so attentive. I've never stayed with a Pilates teacher this long (just over 3 years) which really says something. She always has a new routine and there is always something new to learn. She knows exactly what your body is needing for that particular day. If you really want to strengthen your body, get better balance and coordination, and truly challenge yourself, then Alexis at Delta Pilates is the teacher for you. Highly recommend! read more

I was new Pilates and was a little nervous as I have scioliosis with rods. I found the facility very clean and attractive. Alexis, the owner, is an excellent instructor and very knowledgeable taking extra care to address my limitations. As I became more proficient and confident, I notice significant improvement in my strength and comfort level. With scoliosis, core strength and agility are severely compromised. Pilates addresses just that as well as overall strengthing. As a RN, I was impressed at Alexis' ability to evaluate and adjust movements to accomodate my limitations and focus on my unique issues. I find that I now have waist again and have the strength to hold myself more upright giving the appearance of regaining some of my lost height. I probably have gained at least 1/2- 1 inch much to my delight. I find myself looking forward to my classes for the benefits and pleasant conversations. Thanks, Alexis, for improving my life. If you are serious about Pilates, and the change it can make in your body, please hear this. I have been doing pilates for 10 years. The last 2 years have been with Alexis, and my pilates practice has completely elevated. If I can tell you anything, I will tell you that not all pilates trainers are alike. They may charge you the same, but where most are only qualified to teach on one or maybe 2 pieces of equipment, Alexis is certified to teach at the most advanced level on every piece of pilates equipment, and is, in fact, a trainer of pilates trainers. Until you try training with a teacher/trainer, such as Alexis, you won't understand that you probably aren't getting the full benefit of pilates. I train with Alexis several times per week, and I am constantly seeing, feeling, and loving the difference that Alexis and advanced pilates is making for me. Whether you need rehabilitation, or if you are trying to transform your body, your money will be best spent with the most qualified trainer. Alexis is amazing. A beautiful person, passionate about helping people, sharing her pilates knowledge to the pilates community, and dedicated to helping each of her clients meet their health and fitness goals.
