I really was not expecting this place to be a 5-star experience, but holy cow- they do things right here! Come for the beer and stay for the food- this place is better than any other bar food in the Delavan area, hands down. 6 of us came in after golf, and we were hungry and ready to drink after taking an Uber. I can't recall the bartender's name, but she was awesome.... totally set us up with some great appetizers (the pretzel, cheese curds, wings, and the loaded tots). Yes, it's bar food that anyone can schlep out, but this is also easy to be mediocre or totally F-up... these were all perfect. Great beer selection and the main entrees were fantastic too. Some of us had fish fry, I had a chicken sandwich, and a few guys got burgers... just damn good food. Reasonably priced, too. No, it's not Michelin-star dining, but when I'm in Delavan I just want awesome food like this after playing outside all day. My favorites include the giant pretzel, the veggie burger and the grilled Buffalo chicken wrap. It's a casual place and the food exceeds what you might expect. As someone who grew up eating fish fry around southeastern Wisconsin, I have to say this place has probably one of the best fish fry's around. The fish isn't beer battered so it isn't a heavy feeling. The potato pancakes are delicious - nice and crispy on the outside while soft on the inside. The coleslaw is good too. read more

I stopped in on a recent Sunday evening for a beer and a burger. The guy behind the bar was a real hoot and took great care of us and kept us laughing. The atmosphere is perfect for the near lake location. The kids enjoyed playing darts and the quarter sliding game. Prices are reasonable and quite competitive with other nearby options. I have since returned, and it is worth taking a drive for one of their nightly drink or food specials (2-for-1 burgers, ribs, wings, etc.) or driving your cart up from the lake. read more

We ordered 4 burgers and fries via Doordash Saturday at 6:30pm and were told they'd arrive at 7:15. We didn't get them 'till 8pm. Ugh. Nonetheless, the burgers/fries were so good that we wanted them again on Thursday when they're 2:1. Only after calling in our order did we learn that you actually need to dine-in to take advantage of that 2:1 offer. Undeterred, we ordered again, for pick-up this time, and were told at 6:30 that our order would be ready at 7:15. The bar service and staff at this place is excellent. This was the second time we went there for their "Fish Fry" and the place was packed! We waited over 2 hours for a table (very limited tables there) but had some fun and drinks with friends so it was ok. However....the fish fry is terrible. It is always breaded way too much and overcooked (burnt in the fryer actually). We have had other dinners there (hamburgers, ribs, etc) and they were mediocre but much better than the fish fry. So - if you are going for the fish fry... we would suggest you pick something else from the menu. Super cool local place to get a drink and a meal! And of course I like that my 6 year old son was welcome as well. It's a little off the beaten path but it works! A bar/restaurant in the middle of a residential area. Seriously, it just works. We came after sledding down one of the local hills in the winter and we were pleasantly surprised. No other comments. Very cute bar for some beers, BUT the food is just typical bar food and the service is most of the time un-accommodating. I had the fish fry many times and it seemed to get worse every time I had it. There is just no taste to the fish and the sides are just okay. I tried the burger which was good, but I could get it anywhere. This is a clean bar & grill with a casual atmosphere. It's about 10 minutes from Williams Bay and Fontana in a residential area. The bartender was covering the bar as well as the tables. She did a great job managing everything and service was great. I think the kitchen was backlogged on orders as food came out slow although it wasn't too bad. The cajun dry rubbed wings were ok. They were overcooked so the meat was a little dry. On the other hand the cheeseburger was very good. The prices for food and drinks were reasonably priced. I had to send back my perch fish fry cuz I almost broke my dentures on the first trip and the second time that came out it was still so damn crunchy etc hello they're supposed to be chefs back in the kitchen don't you know that you don't put that type of a crunch thing on a perch?? Come here during the week. Not Friday's of Saturday's. I've been here well over 50 times and it's a nice place when it's not busy. But as soon and business picks up... this place falls on its face. 3 times in a row on a Friday or Saturday I've had to wait over an hour for my food. Get your sh!t together. This place is literally in the middle of nowhere and if your not from the area or search "Yelp" for places to eat we would have never found it. (As another reviewer stated: if you GPS to get her - trust it. It takes you into a residential area but that's exactly where this place is.) If you are staying/visiting on the west side of Lake Geneva (ie Fontana WI) it's only a 10-15 drive and well worth it! It's a small bar but the food is top notch. Fresh cut fries, great burgers and (yes) even NY strip steak. Staff is friendly, place is small but clean. We were looking for a good fish fry and since this was ranked #1 in the area via Yelp, we thought we'd give it a whirl. Yes, the waitress was very nice and made sure our drinks were filled, but the fish fry was no where near worth the price you pay. Actually, the fish was pretty much tasteless and the fries were well done. They also don't offer a kids fish fry during the lent season, which was disappointing. This place has a very good atmosphere. Service was fairly good but slow when it came to food. We ordered within 15 minutes of arriving and they were very attentive to my daughter's allergies. But after an hour and 15 minutes we had to ask them to bag our food to go. After that it took another 15 minutes to get it. We had two hours before my other daughter's softball game and this restaurant ate that all up. We won't be going there again due to the long wait. BEST ribs I've had in a loooong time! Go to the bar and ask for a menu. If you like french fries, you are gonna LOVE these. I'm picky when it comes to fries, THESE are superbly cut and cooked. I didn't even use ketchup, they were so good that I didn't want to ruin them by dipping them in ANYTHING. We stopped by this place on our way home from a baseball tournament, they were extremely short staffed and having trouble getting food out because of that. But we patiently waited and were VERY impressed with the food. I'm glad to say they didn't lack in quality JUST because of staffing. We enjoyed their Ribs, perch sandwhich and a corn appetizer. Let me start out by saying I deliver for Door Dash and have been in a lot restaurants and this is one of the good one. They are always friendly and helpful even when they are packed. I decided to dine in one day and they did not disappoint. I went with a few other people so I got to try a few things. The 2 burgers (Beach burger, Bourbon burger) we great. They were juicy and had great flavor. I also had the fries and loaded tater tots both were really good not over salty, the tater tots had just enough bacon and cheese to make me happy. My husband and I stopped here on our anniversary trip to the Lake Geneva area. Wow what a gem off the beaten path! This place is great and the food and the service are top notch. It's nestled in a residential neighborhood, so initially we were concerned the GPS was leading us off course, but we persevered and I'm glad we did! We came on a Sunday night, the crowd was light with a few families scattered around the dining area and another couple seated at the bar. We sat at the bar and were greeted by Karen who is a real gem at this place. She made great suggestions and was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the cheese curds, the Sunday special: All- you can eat chicken wings, and the heater burger with hot giardinera, pepper jack cheese and housemade hot sauce - which were all very delicious and fresh. We quickly learned that though the food and atmosphere are great here, the real stars of the show are the people. The chef and owner, Rick, came from the back and chatted with the other couple at the bar for a while, then he stopped by to meet us and talked with us for a bit. Turns out, he's also from the Chicago area and comes up on the weekends to work at the restaurant with his wife. It's a family affair and it has a real family feel. At Karen's suggestion we had the Honey Nut Cheerio shots, and after learning it was our 1st wedding Anniversary, Rick ordered a round for the four of us and made a toast. We also got to meet the other couple and spent some time getting to know them and sharing wedding pictures. It was a wonderful time! It's especially worth noting this experience on the weekend of the tragic events that occurred in Charlottesville, VA. With all the hatred that goes on in our country, I am happy to say we experienced nothing but kindness at this small neighborhood bar and grill in Delavan, WI. We never know how we'll be received in a new place or town since I'm Black and my husband is Latino, but at Watershed Saloon we were treated like friends and we'll never forget it.
