An upscale oasis of the freshest seafood in downtown Fort Worth. After booking a reservation through Yelp we chose the patio, and quickly discovered a brisk wind. The front staff graciously worked us in to two seats at the bar. The bar tender was professional, friendly, and efficient. Waters was hopping and happy chatter filled the dining area. The Bass Hall venue is a block away, so many were well dressed enjoying a bite before the show. I'm glad we stepped in because I discovered THE best crab cakes I've ever eaten. Not only were they golden and crispy to perfection, they had a tinge of lemon, chive, and arugula served with a tasty aioli. My daughter indulged in the heavenly oysters (many sauces to choose from). So this review took place during the COVID-19 pandemic. The only reason I mention this is to let you know a mask is required upon entry. My husband C.J. and I came here for our Birthday dinner. We both have Birthdays in July so it works out well. This was our first experience at Waters. We are both foodies and love seafood. Thus bringing us here. First the atmosphere. The decor is nice and subtle with ocean accents. We were seated at a table with comfortable chairs. Once at the table we were encouraged to take off our masks and enjoy ourselves. The lighting was perfect. The acoustics were great. We had great conversations and able to hear each other over very soft music. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was Paul. He and other staff members were friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and professional. He was able to give good recommendations, checked back regarding every dish and cocktail, and was very prompt. We were asked by other staff members regarding our food. Each encounter was friendly and brief. Paul was excellent and deserves to be recognized for great service. The cocktails and drinks were either great, good, or ok. Every bartender much like every cook puts their own spin or take on a drink. My husband's first Old Fashioned was good, his second was great, and his dessert cappuccino was ok. We tasted each other's drinks and food and are in agreement with each other's opinions. My first drink the Orange Sanguine was excellent, my second the Apple mule was very good, and my port was exactly what I desired. Good on you Paul for your recommendation. Next our entrees were excellent. My husband had the seared sea scallops which were tender and cooked beautifully. Their seasoning was spot on. I had the Halibut with sweet potato gnocchi. The cook, seasoning, texture, and sauce were all perfect and complimentary to each other. We shared two sides of lobster Mac and Cheese and Harcourt Vert with roasted garlic. Both were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The small morsels of lobster were succulent and the cheese sauce was light and tasty. Lastly was dessert, yum! My husband had the brownie sundae with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. It was good and exactly what he was looking for. I enjoyed my dessert a lot more. I had the Lemon Icebox Cheesecake. The cheesecake had a hint of lemon, and texture was perfect!!! The upper half is light and airy almost whipped. The bottom half is richer with thicker texture. This Not NY cheesecake which I am very happy about. The crust is graham cracker spread around the plate mixed with sugar. This way you have a great crunch with every delectable bite. The meal was excellent!!! The bill was acceptable as this is a fine dining restaurant. The service, food, and drinks are all worth the price tag. I had some reservations going in. I have been to Bonnels once. I had ordered the Redfish and it was not a great experience. I can honestly say that Waters was an excellent experience. Please visit them. Made a reservation for this evening to celebrate a 60th birthday, instead, ended up walking because of not only of absolute horrible customer service, but also because they have a GM who not only did not care of what our concern was, but literally said "it looks like you won't have a good time here tonight" basically asking us to leave. Additionally, I really believe her rudeness and bitchyness was racially motivated. This would have been my first experience at this restaurant, but didn't happen. With all the fine dining in Fort Worth, it never will. I will spend my money elsewhere. I've been to the previous location and now the new Sundance location. Came here on a Saturday after their first week open around 2 PM. Place was fairly quiet which was great. Got to chit chat with the staff and talk about the restaurant. They do have outlets with USB plugins at the bar which is a really cool idea. It is very hard to find a restaurant in Ft Worth that carries something other that Gulf oysters and this is the place that has a small variety of oysters. The place can be a bit pricey but you do get quality food here. Opted for the dirty dozen oysters here which gives you two of 6 different kinds of oysters. This will set you back $34. I opted to get some fish and chips afterwards which was pretty solid. I felt pretty satisfied with my food and environment. My friend did come back from the women's restroom and was very nice and they had dry shampoo in there for the ladies as well. Walked past here again a few hours later closer to dinner hours and the place was packed. This was our first visit to Waters. We read the menu online and were super excited to try this restaurant. The atmosphere is okay. It's bright and open. I expected something a little more warm and inviting. But it was nice and quiet so we could talk and hear. We ordered the Texas Rockefeller appetizer and it was very good. I loved the southern take on the original. We also ordered the gulf lump crab cake appetizer. It was okay. The texture just wasn't right. It was more of a creamy tuna sandwich like texture. The flavor was lacking as well. Luckily the aoli was bright enough in flavor to make it somewhat enjoyable. I was debating between the filet and the lobster Mac. And I decided to try the lobster Mac. It was extremely lacking in flavor. There were hardly any signs of lobster and the bread crumbs were so overpowering it's all you could taste. I was extremely disappointed considering the price point. The waitress never brought out our bread. And the women's restroom was atrocious. The smell was so bad I was dry heaving while trying to quickly get the heck out of there. The two of us spent $200 on our experience. But it was only worth about $50. Do yourself a favor and spend your money on better quality restaurants like Reata or Grace where you can enjoy the food and the atmosphere. read more

Was meeting up a friend up for dinner and ended up sitting at the bar. Elliott was the bartender and he was outstanding! I wasn't sure which wine to get so he allowed me to try a few of the HH options and mentioned one of his favorites, the rose. I ended up starting with the rose which perfectly complimented the raw oysters. The oysters were a steal for the quality, quantity and HH price. For our entree we split the halibut with extra sweet potato gnocchi and a half order of the lobster Mac and cheese. I also ordered the Pinot to drink with my entree. The halibut was so flavorful with the pesto sauce and gnocchi. The lobster Mac and cheese was so creamy and delicious! I just wish there was more lobster. We were stuffed but still ordered two desserts since we couldn't decide on 1. We got the lemon icebox cheesecake and the bourbon brownie with ice cream. We finished both! They were soooo good! The staff was welcoming never the less, and the friendliness continued the entire meal, which makes for a pleasant environment. The evening was a great time with friends and everyone enjoyed the experience. Not often would you have three of four people order scallops but that's how it went down, lol. Amazing size of each scallop and the taste and freshness was spot on. The puree and black beans made the dish unique and very good. I have a tendency to be very particular about scallops and Waters delivers delicious scallops. It was also very nice to see them accommodate dairy and gluten options. The appetizer list offers Ahi Tuna (gluten and dairy free). The non dairy option of a crab cake is good as well. Both compliment each other before the entrees. It was amazing; well that was 2 years ago. I booked through opentable, easy enough. We were greeted and seated promptly. The bar had 2 folks and the main dining area where we sat had a table of 4 and another 2 tables of 2. Our server was professional without being pretentious. So pleasant and genuine. For appetizer we started with the shrimp gumbo it was outstanding! They served fresh bread which was good but nothing special. We next moved on to Cesear salad with cornbread croutons. It was very bland; honestly Central Market has better dressing. Our meal arrives the scallops are heavenly! Cooked perfectly, sublime! Our side the grilled brocollini came out after we had our entree delivered. Not sure what happened there. The side was over charred on the outside but undercooked. I had a lemonade type mixed drink with dinner it was wonderful. We opted to skip dessert. It was not the perfect experience we had prior. Perhaps the crawfish boil they had wrapped up just an hour earlier had the kitchen staff tired. We had heard many great things about Waters. The bar area was great. Service was helpful and attentive. At the table service was subpar. We were told bread was coming and had to ask twice. Once salads came the waiter said he'd be back with pepper. We waited 15 minutes and then had to call him for pepper. The crab cake app was VERY small to share for the price. Caesar salads at $9 each were smaller than most house salads. The entrees were flavorful but salty. Not commensurate for the price we've had better. Dessert was extremely tiny for the price as well. Good service would have helped with these issues. I'm sad as I was looking forward to a great bday meal. I wish I could recommend to others. read more
