Folks that are giving this place anything more than a star for food quality might even find dog food to be appetizing. That's how disgusting the food is here. Don't waste your money. Either they're buying frozen foods from supermarket and reheating them, or the chefs must be drugged up to cook food this horribly. When I learned to cook for the first time, I managed to at least put salt and basic seasoning in my dish, I mean it's one of those "don't you know" kind of thing? I ordered the salmon, and wife ordered steak...yeah I'm not going to go in details but let's just say I couldn't swallow down my food. The view is amazing, but who cares?? Like some other poster mentioned, have a drink and enjoy the view. Next time if Hilton offered me extra cash to go eat here, I still wouldn't. Yeah I KNOW! who would say no to free food? We came here for dinner wanting a nice view of the Falls. We sat in a booth with a decent view, but the view was mainly of the casino. Once others were sat at the tables in front of the window, we no longer could see anything. We don't mind paying a lot for a meal, as long as the service and the food can back it up...this place was awful. We left for over $200 and hungry. My husband had a beer and I had water. We ordered the prawns as an appetizer..literally 3 for $22, and I've had better at Red Lobster! Then we each had the Caesar salad, it was good..but again I've had better, and for $18, I want to love it. For dinner I had the mushroom risotto..gross!!!! The mushrooms were huge and rubbery. The risotto was mashed together in some spots and soupy in others. I can eat anything and am never picky, but this was gross on a whole other level. My husband had the NY strip which was more like beef jerky. No steak knife was given, he couldn't cut it and was cooked well done when asked for medium. Get ready for a jaw workout! Dessert is our favorite but with these meals, no thanks..I'd rather go to McDonalds. So, 1 beer, 1 water, 3 shrimp, 2 salads, a bowl of nasty rice and beef jerky, we paid over $200. we puchased a 75$ coupon/voucher for the watermark as part of our stay at the Hilton. I should say that we have eatten here before for breakfast and it was ok, so we figured that we would go back and try it for dinner. Big mistake! i should have realized what we were walking into when i wanted to look at the menu and (surprise, surprise!) there are no prices listed! I probably should have cancelled our reservations, but i figured i should give them the benefit of the doubt and see what dinner would be like. Ok so we show up at 7:30pm and we are seated right away. menus arrive and appetizers are 10-20$ each and mains range from 23-89$ I dont mind paying these prices for food as long as it is quality ingredients prepared properly. So my wife and i both ordered the ceaser salad, she decided on the chicken supreme for her main and i ordered the beef tenderloin with foie gras and truffle butter. Ceaser salads arrive and theyre ok tasting just like a store bought ceaser dressing with brought in croutons. Mains arrive and im surprised when i look at my steak... i call the serve over "Um, wheres the foie gras on my steak?" "Oh theres tiny little pieces in the truffle butter that is on top." Steak was cooked fine but completely un seasoned. MY wifes chicken breast was exactly the same un seasoned and charred from the grill. Ok to sum it up i have no problem paying 54$ for a steak with foie gras or 34$ for a chicken breast but i expect them to be done properly and i expect the description to be accurate on the menu. For a restaurant in such a good location and with such nice decor, and with such a price tag, I was quite disappointed. The ingredients they used seemed high quality but the preparation and presentation of the food was disappointing. The spinach salad had too many mushrooms on the side, though the pears were a nice touch. The lamb shank seemed good, though it was also quite expensive. The risotto, on the other hand, was very disappointing. It looked quite sloppy in serving and it was salty and not very sophisticated in flavour. The dessert was fine, but not very delicate either. It was something I would have expected from a grocery store rather than such a classy restaurant. I went because I had the hotel voucher but I probably would not go back again. My husband and I really enjoyed the watermark. It was so conveniently located in our hotel and it was gorgeous! There was a wait for a window seat, but we chose to sit anywhere because the view was still gorgeous. We were able to watch the fireworks display at night which added to our experience. But shout out to Michael (I hope that's his name) he was such a fantastic waiter! He was so friendly, fast, and funny! I actually liked how the menu was set up because we usually pick an appetizer, entree, and dessert anyway plus we had a 40$ voucher from the hotel. The food was good nothing phenomenal but I was fearing the worst with some of these reviews. The only items we didn't enjoy was the cold soup my husband ordered which they gladly swapped it for the corn soup and I wasn't a fan of the sauce for the calamari. I also thought the fries were going to be seasoned and they weren't so that was disappointing for the price. I think this is a gorgeous place to check out though. read more

I had a chance to visit Watermark for dinner during the Good Friday long weekend. You should definitely make a reservation in advance. If you need to wait until your reservation time, you can go upstairs to the Myst Lounge and have a few drinks first. Watermark lets you review their menu in the meantime at the lounge. I really appreciated that the waiter took the time to tell us that a 3-course meal would certainly be sufficient and that the 5-course meal would only be appropriate if you were famished. I was certainly full after I finished the 3-course meal. In terms of appetizers, I was a bit disappointed that they ran out of the grilled lamb and fennel sausage around 8:45 p.m. However, the waiter did make a suggestion for calamari. Even though I was pretty skeptical, unlike some previous reviews, I felt that the flavours were "spot on". The curry dip definitely enhanced the flavour of the calamari, and I felt that even though it was soft and easy to chew, it was not soggy. For mains, I got the NY steak while my SO got the slow cooked short ribs. My steak was very flavourful and was a perfect medium rare. I noticed that some reviews complained about the size, but I felt that my steak was quite large and was worth the price. My SO's short ribs came off the bone very easily as well, and he really enjoyed them. Thus, we recommend trying both of these mains if you haven't already. The lobster tail was fairly priced and did not disappoint. The texture was amazing and tasted great with the lemon and chive butter. However, we felt that our desserts were too sweet for our liking. My SO got the nutella cream crunch cake, and I got the white chocolate lavender mousse. (I liked the nutella dessert more.) Overall, the service was excellent, and we were not treated differently despite looking young for our age and that we weren't dressed up formally. A uniq experience! Used Opentable to book a table. We had our three kids with us and arrived around 6 pm. where other families with kids also found their way to the restaurant. The restaurant is stilish and classic, so if your kids know how to behave there is no problem bringing them here. We got a table with a stunning view over the Falls and we had several minutes where we didn't do anything else then watch the Falls. The food is pricy, but both kids menus and the menu in general are of good quality - so I must say that this visit was worth the money. Came for breakfast b/c it seemed almost impossible to find a good, big, homestyle breakfast in this town that had any sort of semi-high rating on Yelp. It was pretty pricey - $70 with tip for two at the buffet. My wife had the french toast, which was just okay. I had a waffle, which was one of the most boring, worst waffles I've ever had in my life. No flavor - tasted kinda like cardboard. I had a bagel with both the garlic cream cheese and the regular. I liked it, but my wife thought that they could've had more than just plain and wheat bagels, esp for the price. The canadian sausage was really good, as was the bacon. They had an omelette bar, which was cool.... but mine was a little overdone and I've definitely had better omelette's before. Another point of less-than-phenomenal service was the fact that we ordered our drinks before we went to the buffet, came back from grabbing our food (we took our time), and I'd almost finished my plate before the drinks showed up. The view was great! And it is expensive for what you get. As part of a "Romance Package" my wife and I got a $75 coupon for the restaurant. I had prime rib and one drink. My wife had fish, and a glass of wine. The food was good, but nothing special. The totals... Dinner $140, Tax $22.40. With the $75, the bill was $85.41. Still high for the quality of the food.... The "Romance Package" also gave us a free breakfast. Made-to-order omlettes using "processed eggs", fruit, sausage, bacon, hash browns scrambled eggs, bread, bagels, etc. The self serve potatoes, sausage, and bacon were all room temperature. Visited this spot while we were at the Hilton (it's on top of the hotel) Niagara Falls. Made reservations in advance and noted it was a bday celebration for 2 teenage girls. Breathtaking views of the falls most assuredly. Beautifully decorated place that is comfortable but not stuffy. But staff is far from welcoming, warm and inviting. Wait staff - 'eh so so- nothing as wonderful as you would think this 4 star restaurant should offer patrons. Food was 3 out of 4 star (we all had the 3 course - steak entrée) but had better for less $$'s. Desert - a joke. Brought the totally wrong desert - and to boot, NO mention or recognition that this was a bday celebration for the girls (like the desert plate written with Happy Bday - a candle???). Waitress while nice, was out of her league and we actually had to flag her down for add'l drinks, cocktails and check. My boyfriend and I were coming to Niagara from Michigan and I found this place online and made a reservation since it was our 4 year anniversary. Some of the reviews aren't the best so we didn't quite know what to expect. Derrin was our waiter and he was amazing. We got there a little before our reservation, around 6:45pm, but they seated us right away. Right by the window, so even though it was raining we could see the falls all lit up. Granted it is the slow season, so the whole town wasn't busy, so I feel like we got an experience really catered to us. My boyfriend got a glass of Remi Martin XO on ice, and I had a drink with Malibu, blue curaçao, and sprite. We decided to do the 3 course each, so for starters he got the mussels (amazing, and I don't even like seafood) and I had the warm crusted Brie. For the main he got the chicken and I had steak. Cooked perfectly medium as requested, and his chicken was moist and delicious. For dessert we got coffees and he had carrot cake and I had the lemon cake with whipped cream and strawberries. It was by far our most expensive dinner yet but it was so worth it. We had an amazing experience and definitely would return. read more

Despite the rain and fog obscuring our view of the falls, we had a great dinner at the Watermark. If you dine on a clear night, you'll have the best view in town. The servers were attentive and friendly. The bread was excellent. The fried camembert appetizer was outstanding, like a super huge fancy mozzarella stick but better. Celebrated our 36th anniversary here. They treated us like royalty. Seated us at premiere corner window table with spectacular panoramic sunset view of Niagra Falls. Contemporary decor is beautiful and classy. Waiter was prompt and attentive. The breads were delicious. We ordered jumbo prawns and crab and avocado for first course. Both delicious. Let me start off by saying our server was great and tried her best to accommodate our group. The food was expensive and awful. In fact some of it was inedible. I had a soup, there was very little of it and what there was, was awful. It was so thick that it literally should not have been called a soup. The main dish I ordered was an off menu salmon dish with fingerling potatoes. So much salt thrown on my dish that I could not eat it. I sent it back and I am so glad I did because it was awful. Went here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The view from here is awesome but that's about it. The Buffett is very limited more like something you would find at no tell motel continental breakfast. I had to wait ten minutes for the server to initially come to the table for drink orders. I asked for coffee and she replied she wouldn't bring out the coffee until i return from the buffet bar. Needless, to say it too, a long time to get my coffee. There weren't any pancakes so I asked the server and she said that pancakes have to ordered from the kitchen. A few minutes later she brought me out three microwaved frozen pancakes. I asked the server to confirm if they were frozen and she stated yes they were but it didn't Matter because little kids can't tell the difference. Let's start with dinner: While the view is nice (sans the casino) the food is mediocre for such obscene prices. I personally ordered the halibut. It was overcooked and under seasoned. The rice served with it was too dry with no flavor, but at least the veggies were grilled decently. My fiancee ordered the tenderloin and he said it was a good cut of meat. We didnt bother ordering appetizers or dessert as everyone around us didn't seem impressed with the tastings (nor we with what we saw). Now for breakfast: would you like eggs with your oil? Because the egg white omelet I ordered was inedible due the bottle of olive oil cooked with it. The muffins and breads seemed days old and the fruit was mushy. From the 33rd floor of the Hilton - An incredible nighttime view of Niagara Falls and the surrounding area. Numerous times during dinner you and your partner will - almost trance like - again turn to these glorious sites. And it's just as well because the food is expensively compromised. Our Wild Mushroom Risotto was a big disappointment and couldn't be finished. The Atlantic Salmon was edible but extremely boring tasting like a dish you would expect at a diner. At these "fine dining prices" you would correctly expect much more. The First Courses were not bad: The Goat Cheese Crostini was unique and enjoyed - it was the highlight of the evening. The Pingue Prosciutto - forgetfully mediocre. For Dessert we tried the cheese platter. While overpriced at $26 the selected cheeses did not disappoint. The Creme Brulee - very good. A friend of mine and I went to the Watermark while we were on a girls weekend in Niagara. The menu is set and you can choose from a 3 or 5 course option. We both chose the 3 course option, I had a Leek and Potato soup to start, the new york strip steak with veggies and mashed potatoes and for dessert a nutella crunch cream cake. The soup was good, creamy and well seasoned. The steak was cooked perfectly, the veggies were good (carrots and asparagus), the mashed potatoes were a bit lumpy, but had good flavour. I didn't really enjoy the dessert as much, it was quite rich and very fancy which made it actually sort of difficult to eat! But what I had was good, if it was less rich, I may have enjoyed it more. The restaurant has a spectacular view of the falls, it was quite dark when we were there and apparently the lights on the falls had been not working for a few days properly, we could still see them through the darkness, but not as nice as I'm sure it would have been with the lights working (clearly not the fault of the restaurant!). When we stepped out of the elevator of the 33rd floor of the Hilton, directly into the restaurant, it was like being transported into another world. It was beautiful, elegant and just overflowing with food. Literally everything you could ever want for breakfast is here. Everything was fresh and delicious. No powdered eggs here. And you can't get much fresher than a made-to-order omelet. And yes, it's expensive like everywhere else in Niagara Falls but with this place, it's actually worth it. Unlike so many other breakfast places that reel you in with cheap prices for mediocre food and then gouge you for the beverages, here all your drinks are included which means unlimited coffee and fresh (yes, fresh squeezed) juice. This was the worst breakfast I have every had at an actual restaurant. The eggs were the reconstituted kind. ALL of the food on the buffet was cold and flavorless. I went back and had them make me an omelet and toasted myself an English muffin, so I would have something hot. Excellent! finally! on a bed of garlic mash, beans, asparagus and the same friggin sauce/reduction! In summary, the food items can be hit or miss. To put it succinctly, I won't be going back. My Fiance and I ate at the Watermark breakfast buffet on January 28th. I believe the total came out to nearly $60 for the both of us, including tax and tip. For $60 I am expecting a knock it out of the park breakfast. What we got, was the exact opposite. - The fruit was bruised. Bananas had black spots all over them. - The scrambled eggs were possibly the worst I have ever had. - The sausage was rubbery. Thats the only way I can describe it. The decor was very old. The marble steps leading down to various parts of the restaurant were noticeably chipped away and the colors were faded. At a different restaurant, I wouldn't have cared. However, as I said before, when I am paying nearly $60 for breakfast you have to hit it out of the park. Besides the beautiful view there was nothing to recommend about this overpriced, low quality restaurant. Five of the 6 of us at our table were unhappy with the food received. Appetizers were served to most of us before informing one of our guests that they only had '2 soups left, so she'd have to pick something else'. She did and we moved on, until noticing the 2 soups which they did serve, were cold. Those were returned to the kitchen only to be microwaved and returned in the same crusty bowls. Where's Gordon Ramsey when you need him? Three "rack of lambs" were ordered, three were returned to the kitchen. The meat was served as 2 chops with large clumps of lamb on the end which were improperly and unevenly cooked for all of us. All of us ordered medium rare, and while my friends was overcooked, mine was grey on the outside, and cold on the inside. Cutting it with a steak knife was a legitimate challenge. Flavorless, rubbery and tough, there was nothing to like about the "rack". Our friends with the strip steaks did not fare any better, as their steaks were both overcooked, tough and flavorless. Prime rib served as replacements for the lamb meals was fatty, thinly cut and slapped over a pile of mashed potatoes as if the chef were miffed. Not a nice presentation for a $50+ cut of meat. No one wanted dessert. Managements response to our complaints was non-existent as will be our presence at this restaurant in the future. read more

It's edible but no where near fine dining. So if you consider that you are paying for the view and the ambiance and not the food your ok otherwise the food is way overpriced. We had breakfast each day on the 33d floor overlooking the Horseshoe Falls. What a sight and to think about that view while having breakfast was the perfect way to start each day. The breakfast buffet is well done with an omelet station, or eggs cooked to order. Fresh fruit, waffles, pastries, yoghurt, meats and cheeses, cereals. Whatever you like for breakfast, the Watermark has it. Freshly squeezed juices and coffee/tea are served at your table. Each day, Gerta, took care of us. What a treasure, she was always there at the right time to freshen up the coffee, pour more juice and more than willing to provide a helpful tidbit about something special to see or do while in Niagara Falls. In fact everyone at the Watermark was friendly, but Gerta made it special. read more

The service is outstanding, but the food is only average - it's good, but not great (we had appetizers, salads, and lamb chops). I was pleasantly surprised with my experience here after all the lackluster reviews. Maybe it was just the low expectations I had going in, but I enjoyed this place. I had dinner with my family here recently, and we had one of the most pleasant and patient servers I've met. My mom got quite drunk and my stepdad told long, boring stories, and still he waited on us with politesse. I had the organic baby greens to start and the risotto as my main, and both were pretty good. It wasn't mind blowing, but I found the food to be quite decent for a place that trades on its stunning view. (The view is certainly quite impressive and I am adding a star just for that.) For dessert, I had the white chocolate lavender mousse, which was good, but I thought my husband's Nutella crunch cream cake was better. As far as drinks go, they have some nice regional wines on the menu. I think I had the house Chardonnay, but whatever it was, I enjoyed it. The only thing that disappointed me was their cocktail menu. Everything was vodka based and candy flavored, which is pretty sad to see in 2015. One can order one's specialty, I just like to see an inventive cocktail program that makes use of regional booze I wouldn't otherwise think to try. That's my only gripe and if you're not a cocktail nerd/boozehound like me, you probably won't care. I thought the prix fixe was not too bad a deal all things considered. You only eat half because the other half is the butt end. The edible half is pretty good though. Appetizer - Calamari - Bland. Tough. Chewy. Definitely not what I would expect for the price. Entrees - chicken w/ potatoes - no seasoning. My wife substituted mashed potatoes for he fingerling potatoes but they tasted like plain mashed potatoes. Seafood linguine - bland.
