I can speak not only to my Zier Pools construction experience but also to the quality of their work and their follow-through post-project completion. We reached out to Zier Pools and began working with Andrew and Jay on a full front & backyard remodel, including a pool, spa, kitchen, hardscape, landscape, deck, etc. We had purchased a home with a yard that was basically dirt, concrete, brick and overgrown trees. After replacing all the equipment with something from this century, this year we decided to replace the badly stained plaster. As a hard-core Yelper, I set off to find companies and read reviews. Sunset quickly rose to the top of the list, so I set up a meeting with the owner back in early June. Matt walked me through the whole process, finishing options (we chose midnight blue pebble w/crushed abalone mother-of-pearl), made a few AWESOME suggestions on finishing looks, and let me know that the pool couldn't be heated for about 30 days, so I immediately: - signed a contract - pushed off the work until late October, figuring the swim season would be over by then. I was wrong - I swam the morning that we drained. Matt's team showed up the next day and woke up the neighborhood with demolition of the old plaster. Two days later they were laying in the new surface! Acid wash the next morning, and BOOM. Start the fill. Fast, phenom quality work, and an owner that goes out of the way to make sure that the job is done correctly. Definitely highly recommended.

Well, long story short that was a huge mistake. Left our project half way done and just disappeared after we gave him a deposit. After a year of searching for a contractor that was willing to finish the project we had. We were referred to los Cabos. Let me tell you what a relief that they were able to come in and finish our project. We had to get the plaster done, break down existing concrete that was done incorrectly, tile,stone. Javier, Maribel and Juan and crew all guided us through the process of finishing with recommendations, alternatives and with patience. Besides, supply delays we don't have anything negative to say. Contact was precise and clear. Deposit schedule and work was done in a timely manner and within reason from their initial end date. I would recommend, reaching out to the pool maintenance and confirm who will be treating pool and clean up after initial fill. After about a month or so that they finished our pool, my son hit his head on the sharp edges and we reached out to los Cabos and they were able to help us by sanding down the edges which are now safe. Highly recommend los Cabos pools, even being hit with a high demand on pools they were always available, patience and was easy too schedule any follow ups or inspections that needed to happen. This made my wife uncomfortable due to the risk of germs and, in my opinion, the creepiness of a stranger touching our baby. We did continue with the company because we didn't feel like starting the search over and assumed that once construction began, we wouldn't be dealing with Richard. I explained exactly what we wanted and even showed him a photo (and explained the size and purpose). The company pulled permits and later sent us a rendering that wasn't what we wanted. I scheduled a follow up meeting to discuss the issue. Richard said he could "squeeze us in" between other appointments. Before he arrived, my wife and I went into the yard to discuss the project. We realized they simply weren't understanding our vision, and it didn't seem worth the time to keep trying to explain it. I was about to text Richard when he pulled up. I went outside to let him know we would not be proceeding with the pool. His response: "Why the f**k didn't you tell me before I got here?" In my opinion, he then stormed off like a child. I reached out to his boss to let him know that such behavior was incredibly unprofessional, and the language was unacceptable. I explained that I am also a business owner and that employees are not just a reflection of the company, but the owner. Instead of acknowledging or addressing the issue, he told me Richard lives in Palm Desert--as if he had made the drive specifically for us and that somehow it would justify his behavior. The owner called me today (a week later), briefly acknowledging Richard's behavior before saying he wants to bill me for permit costs and time. I already paid a non-refundable $1,000 deposit. He told me, "I don't have to let you out of the contract," and said he has legal recourse and could place a lien on my home. He also let me know he would respond to any review I left. At the end of the day, Majestic Pools was hired to provide a service they failed to deliver to our expectations. They also employ a salesman who acts in a creepy and foul-mouthed manner. Even if we had been difficult customers who required more time than expected or had left them high and dry, that still wouldn't excuse bad, unprofessional behavior and now legal threats.

We had committed to having our pool resurfaced, just prior to our limited rainy season. By the time work was started, the rain was upon us. Mike, the owner, kept us informed of delays, and updated us on the estimated start and completion dates during the various stages. We continued to receive progress reports during the entire project. Perhaps one of the things that I most admired about Mike is that he stood by his work. During the removal of the old surfaces, a couple of PVC parts from the attached jacuzzi were broken. Mike accepted responsibility for the damage, and promised to repair/replace them. The pool was built in the '70s, and some items are no longer available. Mike unsuccessfully continued to search for the replacements, even out of state. Finally, he located someone locally who would fabricate the parts.
