The place is very small and because of that you have to check in at a small window before going inside. It can get very busy and always go mid week for that reason. What the Sunrise Shack lacks in size it more than makes up for with its personality and, of course, its yummy food. It's small yet cozy and homey. The staff is always welcoming and cheerful. And perhaps most importantly, the breakfast always hits the spot. During our most recent visit my boyfriend got blueberry pancakes and I got biscuits and gravy, which I had once before and had a hankering for it again. It was just as hearty and delicious as I remembered it from the last time. The blueberry pancakes were very yummy too. As a side note, if you ask for hot sauce with your meal they have a variety bucket for the table, which is a nice little bonus for hot sauce fiends such as myself. Whether you want your breakfast to be healthy or hearty, or whether you're filling up before going on a rigorous hike or going shopping in the North Conway town center, you simply can't go wrong with The Sunrise Shack.

I've wanted to try out their breakfast for a long time and now I finally did. Going for brunch on a Friday was a great idea even for a summer weekend. We got there a little after 11am and we were famished. My husband ordered their vegetable omelette with a side of bacon. I chose the Jim's Heartburner omelette which had chorizo, tomatoes, red onions and banana peppers in it. Both were delicious but I wish the omelettes were fluffier instead of being overdone. Home fries were decent. Service is friendly and excellent. Prices were just right. There's plenty of parking which is appreciated. Coffee was better than most breakfast places which is certainly something I notice.

I ordered the special omelette, Ruben omelette that was both tasty and filling. The homemade biscuits were huge and excellent as well. All this fuel for $16. I love the casual old-time flavor of this establishment; they have old saws and memorabilia hanging, plus the plastic silverware and paper plates add to the ambience. Once again, my eyes were bigger than my stomach, so I have breakfast for tomorrow - a repeat of this morning If you love breakfast and want fuel for the day, I strongly recommend the sugar shack. We were on vacation in NH this weekend and this place was an absolute must go. I got the half stack pancakes with plain chocolate chip, whole wheat blueberry, and their special which was oatmeal granola. All were absolutely amazing. My mom got the buttermilk blueberry and gingerbread walnut- these two are our absolute favorite combos. We also got a side of their homemade wheat toast and home fries. If you go, you must get their home fries because they are arguably the best item on the menu, besides pancakes of course lol. My dad got a ham and cheese omelette, with a choice of 2 or 3 eggs (he got 3), which comes with home fries and toast. I also tried their iced lattes for the first time ever and I'm disappointed I never got it before. I got an iced latte with salted caramel flavor and whip cream which was amazing. Their menu is full of variety and they are so many substitutions and add ons you can make. Different combos of pancake batter and toppings, cheese and onions on home fries, different flavors of toast, etc. All the employees are so friendly too. Every time we've eaten here, the waiter/waitress is always so kind and friendly and attentive. Our waitress today, Lisa, was especially awesome. The food comes out in a decent amount of time too. Beware that they get VERY VERY busy once camping season starts, around Memorial Day weekend and continuing throughout the summer. You could be looking at a wait time of at least 2 hours on a weekend in the summer if you get there after 8 or 9am. They don't take calls for a waitlist, you have to be there to put your name on a list to wait. Since we went early May, we had no wait whatsoever. Please give this place your business, they deserve it and will not disappoint!!!

They have repurposed an old railroad station building that brings a unique charm to your breakfast/lunch. My wife and I both appreciated the overall vibes! Like I said they have plenty of common dishes you'd expect like French toast, omelettes, Benedict's and more. Alongside their menu they include weekly specials and these were the dishes that really caught my eye for their uniqueness! During our stop they had Congee (think Chinese rice porridge), Hong Kong Waffle, and lastly Shanghai Omelette. I went with the omelette that had Chinese sausage, carrots, onions with a Chinese bbq sauce and some other finishing touches with a side of rice and wonton instead of toast. Was such a unique dish but tasted phenomenal, glad I got to try it! My wife then went with their Carnitas Omelette with a few substitutions to avoid any heat but was blown away by it. She had never really thought about having carnitas for breakfast but enjoyed every bite. The hollindaise sauce on top was the perfect touch! I also ordered a side of bacon. For me it was 3 and a half stars. Hubs had pancakes with eggs and sausage. He said the pancakes had no flavor and I tasted them and had to agree. His eggs were fine and sausage ok. So for him it was three stars. We decided to go with 3 total stars on this one because if you're going to call yourself a breakfast place you need to nail the pancakes. Overall not bad and not great. Would give it another try if I was in the area.

This casual family owned and operated restaurant cafe serves up breakfast all day and lunch. The place was redone with a brighter and an inviting atmosphere with booths along the walls and in front, table seating in the center and counter seating in the dining area. There are patriotic prints on the walls and checkered floors remain. I've picked up Lebanese and Italian food from the previous restaurant in this space and it's bittersweet seeing a small town breakfast and lunch spot open up in its place. There are a few other options in this area, but spread out. I decided to stop by here for breakfast before work. I got here just before 6:30 and sat myself in a booth which had menus to look at. The breakfast menu offerings include breakfast platters, 3 egg omelettes, pancakes, French toast, Belgian waffles, breakfast burritos, Tony The Tiger (frosted flakes French toast), hash (canned and homemade (soon)) and breakfast sides. The lunch menu offerings include fried appetizers, hand cut fries, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, soup, chili, salads, comfort dishes, and daily specials. The prices seem fair, most meals $8 to $15 range (in 2024). After I was seated, the server came over and offered a drink and I requested an ice water since I already had coffee beforehand. They did not have homemade hash yet, so I eventually decided to go with the Steak Bomb Omelette ($13.50 plus tax) with choice of toast (I chose sourdough) and one side (I got home fries). My food was served in about 8 minutes after ordering. There was a good amount of hot food on my plate. The omelette was filled with grilled shaved steak, green peppers, onions, mushrooms & cheese (I chose cheddar) with a folded thin egg sheet. This omelette was pretty good. The home fries were fresh cut potatoes (cube cut) lightly grilled and seasoned, which were potatoey and with the skins. The sour dough toast was firm and had minimal butter. The server dropped off the check as I was almost done eating, no rush. The check was $14.65 with tax and before tip. Overall, this is a good place stop for food and I plan to stop by for lunch next time since I saw they had chicken tenders, reubens, monte cristos, mac & cheese, and spaghetti & meatballs (Wednesdays). The friendly staff knew people by name as they stopped in for breakfast. The service for weekday breakfast was prompt and I was able to make to work on time. It is noted they are closed on Sundays (at the time of this posting).
