Plenty of playground for the kids. 4 structures! -gated young kids one -small "boat" -single "tower" -longer structure

This is a huge park with everything. There are tennis courts, full length fenced in basketball courts, baseball fields, huge fields. They playgrounds are a little old, but there are 3 big structures right next to each other. There is an area that is fenced in geared more toward toddlers, another structure with a ship theme, and a bigger structure with lots of bridges to run across.  Only the biggest structure is well shaded by the Redwoods. There's tons of sandpits everywhere. Nice huge park that is easy for social distancing!

It's been 90+ degrees for seven consecutive days in Sunnyvale. Want to go swimming at a public pool in Sunnyvale? No way Jose. Try Santa Clara Swim Center in Santa Clara or Rengstorff Park in Mountain View. Washington Park used to have a great pool for summer swimming, and Fremont High School has an Olympic size pool, but is closed along with all school facilities. The pool at Washington Park was demolished in October. The pandemic halted all construction on the new pool center for three months, making any public swimming in 2020 as likely as Trump reading the 61 page Obama pandemic playbook. They do have an extensive playground for the kids to play, but is also closed with yellow tape due to the pandemic. No team play on the baseball fields for the same reason. Park has basketball courts next to 2 tennis courts. Tennis singles allowed, but basketball not allowed. Hasn't stopped people from playing basketball. Never played tennis here, as you ever try play next to a basketball game in progress? Lot of animation, shouting, and physical contact in basketball, a real distraction from the tennis game separated by a fence. Besides the basketball court is made the same length of tennis courts, 78 feet, compared to 94 feet in a standard basketball court. The three point line and half court line are right on top of each other. No swimming, no baseball, no basketball, no playground equipment playing. Life during the pandemic. They do have a monument with a 57 mm anti tank gun and a list of those Sunnyvale combat soldiers who gave their lives in WW2. Some things are more important than playing in the park. If you find an open public swimming pool, the reopening rules require one household for each 300 square feet of surface water with reserved staggered entry. The change room will be closed due to pandemic restrictions. You will have to change clothes in your car, or leave a wet seat the next time you sit down!

Great park, lots and lots of shade over the picnic tables making it perfect for a party on a hot day and loved that they had lots of play structures for the kids and even one that is enclosed.

I'm sure the park is lovely, there is a lot of space for kids to play. Aaaaand then it gets infested with caterpillars. Caterpillars on the tables, caterpillars on the playground, caterpillars on the benches!

This is a lovely park with a pool, picnic areas, baseball field and a very large play structure. There are both sunny and shady places. Even on a Monday afternoon, there were people picnicking, walking their dogs, enjoying watching their children play and just enjoying the awesome weather. This is a lovely park, just a couple of blocks from the library and city services complex. It has many large oak trees and well-cared-for benches. It's a perfect place to unwind and let the sun hit your face gently. I took my studying to this park for awhile today and sat at the picnic tables which were shaded by a huge oak tree. The kiddos played in the distance and a squirrel zipped back and forth looking for oak acorns. This is exactly where those three children who were playing tag and hitting themselves at the restaurant I ate lunch should have been!

While it has some inclusive features, many structures don't feel designed with littles or kids with disabilities in mind. There are open stairs and gaps with no barriers, which made it stressful as my son kept running toward unsafe areas. We liked the climbing section with the big slide, but access wasn't very accessible and things got chaotic with kids not taking turns. The open field is nice for activities like kite flying, but again, no barriers meant constant redirection. Also worth noting: the dog park is right next to the baby swings and restrooms, and parking is very limited and easy to miss. Overall, some nice features, but the lack of safety made it more stressful than enjoyable for us.

It is decent in rain, as it is gravel, but grass. The dog park area is about a 3 star area. The rest of the park is better. It has a very large green field in the center, ringed with a walking trail, picnic areas, and play areas. There is water and bathroom facilities. The parking area is a bit in the small side. Bayland Park Trail -- A Perfect Random Family Adventure…read more Sometimes the best family outings are the ones you don't really plan. We took the family out for a random weekend adventure after doing a scavenger hunt at the D&D Garden, and decided to check out Bayland Park Trail. Honestly, it ended up being such a nice little stop! The trail gave us a chance to slow down, enjoy the scenery, and just spend some quality time together. The kids especially enjoyed seeing the boat planes coming through, and we spotted quite a bit of wildlife along the way, which made the experience even better. It's not necessarily about doing something huge or spending a ton of money. Sometimes just getting the family outside, exploring somewhere new, and making those random memories is what makes a weekend great. Definitely a nice family-friendly spot if you're looking for something relaxing, outdoorsy, and a little different. We had a great time just being together and enjoying the unexpected sights along the trail.

Be advised that a lot of the benches have spider webs and moss so be prepared to wear jeans that you can throw in the wash! Pro: Bathrooms! Not just port u potties. This park also has dirt trails for running XC that is flat with rolling hills. Overall, this is a beautiful venue for a cross country race!

The little kids enjoy the frog that sprays water. There is a public restroom next to the playground so you don't have to drag the little ones too far to use it. The rest of the park has some reservable picnic table areas with BBQs. You'll find 2 tennis courts way in the back, and also a horseshoe pit. Sometimes you'll see people playing volleyball at the sand volleyball court. There is a path that makes a loop around the park. People like to use it to walk or run laps. There is a pond that used to be filled with an unnatural blue color water. This would attract Candadian Geese to the park and they made a big mess pooping all over the park. There was a time when it got so bad that you could not safely stroll along the walkway without running into geese poop. Trying to avoid these land mines is not a fun way to enjoy the park. They've since turned off the water features and the geese no longer plague the park. The park is definitely much cleaner now. There is a small parking lot by the playground and also street parking along the street that leads up to the parking lot. The parking lot dead ends, but they have designed a roundish area at the end -- this area is not designated for parking in -- at the end to help you make a u-turn to drive back out. Sometimes it is difficult to make this u-turn when people park in this area. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=a3c15emWpHiehs81jdgHHw&userid=isQotFiKU_S_TI4Qt4MtMQ https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=7OFU_4ZnZNDS9b1LMP3QtQ&userid=isQotFiKU_S_TI4Qt4MtMQ https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=rxdAa2RDw46kCSADO9H7hQ&userid=isQotFiKU_S_TI4Qt4MtMQ .
