    Group BBQ area

Beautiful park! Booking a group BBQ pit was easy. You do have the space for a whole day once you book it for the fall/ winter months. There are two BBQ areas- family and group. Group holds ~50 and family ~8-10. Park itself is beautifully maintained, peaceful and has plenty of parking.

Clean, very pretty park. Lots of shady spots. Benches to sit on. Barbecue area, not sure if have to reserve. Most importantly dog friendly.

Great park to walk around. Nothing too scenic about it, but here are some available amenities: tennis court, playground, grilling areas, YMCA, and bathrooms. The grass is plentiful, but hilly. The field of grass besides the tennis court has been recently caution-taped off for whatever reason. The walks here are so peaceful, and there are always people here playing tennis still past 9PM. Went here most recently for a Xerneas raid for Pokemon Go & that was pretty successful. Lobby of 7 (including my crush and I).

This is an awesome, big, well-maintained park. There's plenty of parking. It was busy but not surprising given that it was a warm day yesterday. BBQ areas, a lot of benches, tennis courts, nice running/walking trail, lots of big trees and shade...and Bocce Ball...that's cool, you don't see that very often. Two thumbs up.

Beautiful park with redwood trees rolling grassy areas, 2 playground for different ages, 3 tennis courts, Boce ball, paths for jogging, kids biking and walking with strollers. 2 buildings with restrooms. They are working on replacing paved walk areas uplifted by tree roots. It also has one of the most beautiful bbq areas with 4 pits and 2 sinks I have ever seen short of a German beer garden.

Pretty sweet park for tennis, children, or bicycling/scootering. It is extremely well-maintained, with nice walking space built-in, so you'll have plenty to do for a morning or afternoon. The play structures are pretty safe but can be packed on the weekends. For children and teens, there is a pretty cool hill "drop," but I would advise parents to guide their young children at this spot to avoid any serious injuries. Parking lot is generally enough to accommodate everyone. Open space is available for lots of different activities. Also, just down the street there is a Safeway in case you need any extra supplies. Lots more to explore at this park, I'll definitely be coming back!

Absolutely love this place. Perfect for all your picnic/BBQ/potluck events. Make reservations in advance. Not crowded. Public restroom is decent. Bonus points for park maintenance and keeping it very clean around here. Lots of tables and benches, along with your perfect BBQ pits. I only have great things to say about this place. People have group gatherings here and the parking lots of not usually full, but if you plan a day here, do come early. Walking trail is not long, but the views are extremely calming and incredible. Trash bins are easily spotted. One thing to note, I do see signs saying no food or drink near the non-BBQ tables & bench area, especially where children usually plays. Maybe some parts of the park are supposed to be off limits to food and drinks. I wanted to eat on their lovely green grass, but didn't know if that was allowed. No one else was doing picnics on the lovely grassy area. What stands out most are all the BBQ areas for reservations only. They have numbers, so remember to find your favorite area. The crowds that I saw were mainly mothers and infant children. Sometimes, there are grandmothers and just folks walking around. Lots of shady areas with huge trees. I think it's an excellent place for you if you do like eating out at the parks. Easy access back onto Grant all the way to Hwy 237 or El Camino Real. Loved it very much. Beautiful!

This is a great little park. It's not the end all park that some of you might be seeking, but it's in a prime area that is very safe and full of nice people. Also very dog friendly. Came here Pokemon hunting and enjoyed the stay overall. Plenty of trees and little areas perfect for the kids. Parks are a big deal to the city person in me, so when I see a park, it brings a smile to my face. Overall, a great park, so bring the family and friends here and relax.

Company picnic here, year 3. Love it.

The tennis courts are pretty pack and busy before 9pm, since most of people pay to reserve the tennis courts.

What I like: Free entry, huge free parking lot, and bathrooms. You can keep it simple with a walk or bike ride on the trails, or make it more of an activity day with the lake. The lake is manmade and they have a boathouse where you can rent equipment. Sailing, paddle boating, that kind of vibe. I've also seen the boathouse area used for group events, so it's good for a casual outing or even something organized. A few practical notes: It's mostly flat, which is great, but there's very little shade, so if it's sunny bring water and plan accordingly. Weekends can get crowded, especially when the weather is good. Overall, it's a clean, convenient park with enough variety that you can keep coming back and not get bored.

Unfortunately, the Rengstorff House just closed when we arrived. We were able to walk around and check out the lake and some of the other areas though.

This place is usually my go to when the weather is just perfect and you want good views of the mountains viewing the Monterey Bay and the Santa Clara Valley. In addition, the park is even open during the cold winter season, where it occasionally will snow (because of how high the elevation is, the main base is situated at about 3,200 feet above sea level). This place has been my go-to park for hiking for a while, because of its terrain. At the same time, it's also been because of how much snow they get when cold fronts come into effect. They are also open year-round, so definitely swing by this state park when you do get the chance to! It's a decision you'll never regret.
