    Half-pipe in the skate park
    Nobuyuki S.

If you like Lakewood skate park, you'll like Rengstorff skate park. It's located past the kids' playground. It's noisy with all of the metal but that's kind of endearing. Nothing was overly slick, and the concrete seemed okay. There was a half-pipe but there were street and vert parts.

Big and beautiful park. Lots of open space. Slightly unsightly is the street across is lined w/ people living in rvs. Dog park is hard to find as it's tucked in the back corner.

Large park with basket ball courts, a pool with a slide, community center, and a skate park. Reservations are required for the picnic area from May 1 to Oct. 1 (don't remember if Oct. or Nov.). The picnic areas have tables and grill, portable grills aren't allowed. Take a copy of the reservation or have it on your phone, the park workers might come by and ask. No alcohol! There was plenty of parking when I got there are 11am.

Big field from the perspective of sitting under a nice tree

Great park for kids and adults! This is a large and attractive park. Parking seems to be sufficient on a weekend morning. The park has paved trails, large grassy fields, mature trees, bathrooms (no soap), and multiple playgrounds. There are benches and picnic areas and even exercise equipment for adults. I haven't checked out the pool to comment it, but it likely is good if it is on par with everything else here. Enjoy!

Group BBQ Area: - Convenient parking lot next to group BBQ area - Friendly Rangers - Clean BBQ grates - Adjustable BBQ grates - Convenient serving tables by BBQ - Lots of waste receptacles - Sink with running water, push only, very large space between faucet and the edge of the sink. Have to really lean over to get under the water! - Concrete tables, dirt ground - Restrooms are a short walk away by the Pool - Brown group tables: Most shade of all tables, incl. BBQ area - Red group tables: Good shade, incl. BBQ area - Yellow group tables: No shade, incl. the BBQ area. Avoid. - Green group tables: Partial shade, BBQ area is not shaded - White group tables: Good shade, BBQ area is not shaded - Alcohol permits allowed Would come back again!

For the better part of five years, I lived right next to this place. Rengstorff Park in Mountain View is a good sized park with a ton of amenities including: - numerous grilling areas and benches - wide selection of playground equipment for the kiddies - basketball courts - tennis courts - racquetball courts - paths and trails for running - skateboard ramps - pool - indoor activity center w/ bathrooms - large enough grassy area for a game of soccer - lots of trees and little tucked away areas for privacy On the weekends during the afternoons, it turns into a big Mexican hangout with families grilling, listening to music, jabbering away, kids playing, just one big fiesta for the local Hispanic community. All in all, though a nice community park and I'm ashamed to say that I didn't make use of it more than I did.

This park is a nice. I am sitting underneath this gorgeous tree on the wood platform surrounding it, and looking across about 60ft at the pool area, which looks very nice. I am also about 30ft from the community center. There is another building on the grounds that I am unable to tell what it is at the moment. There is a nice atmosphere. The park is clean with several trash cans every where I look..so there no excuse to drop anything on the ground. There is an area for soccer, tennis, barbeque, and other activities. Caltrain runs alongside the park. Parking is both on and off street. We will have to come back here again.

Nice park in Mountain View that has a little of bit of everything for everyone. Skate Park - pretty tame, but still seems popular with the skate boarders. 3 different kid park areas with a variety of play equipment for kids to tear around on. There is a hidden one behind the recreation center that is great for small kids. Swimming pool and jacuzzi are outdoors so they are only open part of the year.

We came here for the somewhat hidden dog park behind the tennis courts and were pleasantly surprised by how much room there was for our excited husky to play and run. The dog area is now completely fenced off (with a tall fence over 6 ft if your dog is a jumper) but be careful of the middle gate which leads directly into the tennis courts and that door isn't hinged and is sometimes left open. Overall a cute park and a great area for a puppy play date.

When my instructor through the Society skate shop moved away I figured I'd give JB a shot. I've done three lessons here so far and it's been well worth the time and money. JB has been very positive, gives great feedback, and understands what's good for my progression. I get several super useful bits of feedback every lesson, along with a handful of things to work on in between lessons. We've focused a lot on skating transition, and in our last lesson we spent some time on ollie's. The Sunnyvale skate park and Youtube channel go hand in hand with the live instruction - the park is marked up with blue tape for skaters to learn the lines, and it's really helpful to rewatch videos after a lesson to reinforce what we went over live. Definitely looking forward to our next lesson! If I had started out here instead of on my own I would have avoided a shoulder injury early in my skating days. My schedule means that I can usually only skate on the weekends. I get an email every week from JB Thursday or Friday, check the kid soccer schedule, make sure I've had enough time to practice, and schedule a Sunday morning session if it all aligns.

Don't be fooled by how Josh presents himself to younger kids - he has a disrespectful side with a…read moretouch of lawlessness. I took a few lessons from him (as an adult) a while back, and he initially seemed like he might be "cool." However, he quickly became disillusioned with the fact I am not nearly the "daredevil" type that he or many of his other clients [many of whom are young] are and that I do not learn as quickly or want to take big "risks" (at least not at his desired pace). I paid him $50 per hour (EXCELLENT money) to (supposedly) help me improve my skills, and yet he still had little to no humility. This made me angry - hence why I decided at that point to no longer do business with him. The final straw for me was when I learned that he is encouraging children to behave illicitly - specifically, by trespassing. See my attached photo from his Facebook page where on a rainy day, the park was closed (with the gate locked) by the City, and yet he and his group jumped the fence so they could still ride. Not cool. And, fast forward to now, and it seems like he has almost outright "claimed" the Sunnyvale skatepark as his own, and as an asset for running his business. This means "regular" members of the community cannot come and skate here, as there will be 20+ little, rambunctious kids running all over the place, making it impossible for anyone else to skate. Sadly the City of Sunnyvale does not appear to have an ordinance against such use, but it is sad to me he doesn't even have enough basic respect to be considerate of both other, "general" people and the community at large.

The last time I took the kids it looked like so much fun I borrowed my kids tiny board and rode in a skatepark for the first time in 25 years! The park is a perfect mix for beginners and pros, with easy roll ins and gentle humps all the way to bowls, stairs, and gaps. We've been to some other skateparks that have steeper ramps and feel much more closed in, we end up coming back to this one because it's more spacious with plenty of room for everyone. The snake run is really fun for beginners and you can learn to roll in here and ride some banks. The negatives of this skatepark are sometimes people that live in their cars will park out here, there used to be a lady with a full on garden outside of her car and sometimes people will hang out in the grass nearby and smoke weed. Haven't seen it in awhile but we started coming early morning. The closest bathrooms are at the park so a pretty far walk if you need to use them.
