It's especially pretty during the fall because the trees have all turned colors. It's nestled in a neighborhood so feels safe and quaint. I liked the cute "kids only" treehouse sign on the playground. My daughter enjoyed climbing the faux rocks. It was busy on the Saturday we came. The bad: The sand and splash pad area are adjacent so that gets messy with kids. The interesting: The name comes from the former principal of the school that used to be located where the park is now.

There is plenty of parking in the Campbell Community Center parking lot, and about 5 lanes for both walking and running. There are free public restrooms located on-site, as well as outdoor tennis courts, a squash court, community center swimming pools, and the Heritage theatre. The track is very safe and well-lit, and can get crowded during peak hours, especially during the evenings and weekends. There is a soccer field in the middle of the track, and an enclosed fence to prevent balls from hitting runners. The view here of the outdoors is just splendid to take in during a workout.

With my limited time, Henry quickly evaluated my ability and he catered the lesson to where I was at, while keeping things challenging for me. We progressed through a bunch of exercises and obstacles to keep the session fresh. Henry was very attentive the entire lesson (not checking his phone the entire time) and he also recorded a ton of video that he used to explain on the spot how I could improve. Very helpful. I'd highly recommend Henry to anyone looking for a lesson. He's friendly and a fun guy to have a session with!

He provided me lots of exercises and most importantly taught me how to fall safely! Before moving forward through each of the exercises, he made sure I had the correct idea of technique and form. Always great to see birdlife here: geese, coots, ducks, grebes, herons and an occasional hawk. Very popular with dog walkers on a leash (the dogs, not the people ). Recommendation: The park officials would be praised if they organized a separate trail track for humans and bicyclists. It would make both walkers and bicyclists so very happy. This park's popularity makes it crowded at times. Especially weekends.

I was in the South Bay and wanted to do a sunset hike in a place I haven't been before. My…read moreson-in-law suggested this county park. Boy, was that a very good suggestion. It takes a 20 minute drive from San Jose to Los Gatos. The main gate kiosk was unattended, so I proceeded to find a parking spot near the arched pedestrian foot bridge. I found out later that there was $6 parking fee but I got there around 7 pm this past summer, so I maybe got away with it. Next time, I'll just park for free in the nearby neighborhood streets such as University Avenue and Garden Hill Drive. This is a pretty large park with the Vasona Reservoir as a center piece. I wanted to loop around the lake's trail path only to find out that the west side is accessible through the University Avenue only. The miniature train wasn't in operation when I got there but I got to check out the mini train station and tracks. Ducks, geese and herons were hanging out by the water. People were concluding their day's activities as I went on with my hike. These were all sorts like urban anglers, birdwatchers, families on a walk, runners and bikers. I even noticed a couple of birthday parties ending as the sun was setting. Ongoing renovation, summer's dry foliage and some unkempt areas are what's keeping my review from being 5 stars. Still a serene place for a walk or a relaxing stroll and a good alternative to the overcrowded Silicon Valley area parks with a lot of picnic areas and even a dedicated bike lane.

It's open from sun rise until dusk and you'll see a variety of people doing different workouts and I've never seen it too packed. They've also got bleachers for those that want to get a stair workout in. The parking is plentiful and I'd recommend parking in the shade. This is mostly a track review but there's also a skate park and other fields where you can get some physical activity in. All in all it's a great place to get a little exercise in or even just get a walk in and some sun.

There's a great bike path that starts here…read more Lots of space for walking, barbecues, there's a playground for older kids and a gated playground for younger kids. The only thing about this place is parking is quite limited for such a large park. I definitely recommend bringing your bike here. The bike trail leads to Los Gatos Creek Trail, which is nice. Nice place to get some sun. Don't forget about the basketball courts. And also, you can easily walk to downtown Campbell from here.
