The best running track in the area, with bleachers and a body weight training area with free equipment. There is plenty of parking in the Campbell Community Center parking lot, and about 5 lanes for both walking and running. There are free public restrooms located on-site, as well as outdoor tennis courts, a squash court, community center swimming pools, and the Heritage theatre. The track is very safe and well-lit, and can get crowded during peak hours, especially during the evenings and weekends. There is a soccer field in the middle of the track, and an enclosed fence to prevent balls from hitting runners. The view here of the outdoors is just splendid to take in during a workout. read more

This is such a great place to run, but I warn you, you'd better come here during some non-peak times, because it can get crazy busy. There's also a super chill cat that just hangs out and minds its business but loves some scratches. Just stick to the rules and keep to your lanes. There can certainly be some people that seem to have a hard time reading the writing on the track that says, "If you're not freaking running, then get out of the middle two lanes. Thank you. The City of Campbell did a great job of turning the former Campbell High School into a community center. To me, the track is the center's jewel. It's the perfect place to get in a quick workout. I particularly love that it's an all-weather, cushioned track and is lighted until 10 p.m. Plus, there's plenty of parking and the facilities are well maintained. Campbell is a pretty safe community, and the track reflects that. There are always plenty of people walking, jogging or running, so solo exercisers can feel comfortable working out on their own. A few tips for track newcomers: 1. Read and abide by the posted track etiquette. It seems like common sense to be courteous to other track users, but you wouldn't believe how many people just stop in the middle of the lanes to hold a conversation. 2. Again common courtesy: if walking with a group, don't take up more than two lanes. It's a track, not an obstacle course. 3. Dogs are not allowed. There are great trails along the creek. Take your dog there. Plus, the track mascot (see next tip) doesn't approve. 4. Beware the track mascot: grumpy cat. This fuzz ball loves hanging out at the track, and even circles it once in a while. You can try to pet him but he's not super friendly. He'll let you know when he's tired of your attention. Rawr! read more

If I have no time for the gym, I always seem to have time to come to the Campbell Track! It's my favorite spot in Campbell, well besides the Gaslighter way back when. For the most part, there's always available parking, not many people, it's clean and safe. But when the hot weather comes around, the grass is used for soccer/football, and there's way too many people. It gets very overwhelming! Or when graduations are held at the community center, there is no parking! Beyond that, the Campbell track is great! To avoid the boredom of literally going in a circle, I'll do intervals of running stairs and bring equipment (resistance bands, kettle bell, etc.). Love coming here for my evening jogs and walks. It can def get crowded but for me it's the safest place to be out on my own in the evenings for this type of activity. You have people for all ages doing their thing as well as boot camp folks. The only thing I don't care much for is that sometimes there will be little kids running around cutting people off on the track cashing down a ball or whatever other than that, yup check out this track if you haven't. read more

I been coming here for the last 5 years mainly to do nightly walks around the track. Green fields, clean bathrooms, well lighted areas, adequate parking. At times, there can be 100-200 people using the track to get a workout. This is mostly during the morning between 8-9AM and 7-9PM especially in the Spring/Summers. Its so well liked that even a local neighborhood cat hangs around there, sitting in the middle of the track as people run and walk by. No reason not to participate to start your morning or work off that dinner. 'Round and 'round we go. You have to see it to appreciate it. read more

I really enjoy having this so close to home. Tracker track has a nice, padded surface, lights in the evening (until 10pm), and plenty of parking. If you'd prefer to take public transportation, there's a bus stop right outside of the Campbell Community Center, and if you take Lightrail it's just a few blocks from the downtown Campbell stop. There's a nice bleacher area if you want to run steps, and a workout area if you want to do some resistance training using just your own body weight. Great place for a free workout! read more

A nice track. Can get crowded weekdays after work with families. Great little area for strength training with park equipment and bleachers for stair training. Bleacher side of track is in the dark once the sun goes down. Subtracted one star because walkers often times walk in the inner 2 lanes which are marked and reserved for runners. Otherwise, a convenient community park for everyone. Note: watch out for the cute chubby grey cat sunbathing on the outer lane. Happy cat's not phased by stomping runners because he owns this track. The Campbell skatepark is a very fun park to ride, it consists of all metal and wood ramps and they are all movable! it consists of a big half pipe, some rails some spines and some banks. it is really fun and id give the street rating a 2/10 and the vert is a 6/10. these ratings are a bit low I would recommend going here. the community is nice accept for the occasional Karen and I would rate the community a 7/10. overall this park is a 7/10. read more

I absolutely love this track! Friendly runners, walkers, and trainers all around. It's lit up from the early am til 9-10pm. Restrooms open at 7am and close at dusk daily. If you are lucky, there is a friendly kitty cat that will come right up and ask for your attention! Only downfall: in the soccer months, the family supporters & the unsupervised siblings are all over track making it difficult to get your run on. Stay motivated my fitness freaks! read more

I like this place! It is well lit at night, and typically has a number of people there. I feel safe going there. The cat is an added bonus. I see him/her fairly often. Friendly typically, but sometimes just wants to hang out and people watch. Parking is typically pretty easy unless there is an event going on. Even then, I always find a spot. read more

Came here to run the bleachers and do strength training. Perfect for what I needed. Parking was easy! They also have a nice soft track as well as big grass park areas. I will probably bring my yoga mat and weights next time and take advantage of the open grass area. Convenient location about a mile away from my home. I love running here! Parking is no hassle and there's a spot off to the side to do some stretching before hitting the track. The two inside lanes are reserved for runners, sometimes it's abused but it's mostly followed as the general rule. There are bleachers if you want to run the stairs. Love this place, its perfect to jog laps during the day or evenings. Sometimes I have go jogging in the evenings when its dark, (the Los Gatos Creek Trail is infested with homeless encampments so it can be pretty sketchy) and the Campbell Track has lights and plenty of other people using the track at night. read more

Coming to a track to walk in circles makes about as much sense to me as paying for a gym membership to walk on a treadmill. Even with my relatively limited knowledge of the area, I can think of a myriad of nicer places to go if my sole intention is a leisurely stroll with friends. With the minor annoyance of walkers strolling on the inside lanes this is a great location. Nice 1/4 mile track, bleachers, pull-up bars, inter alia. The grassy area in the middle was covered with animal poop, so I'm not sure how accommodating it would be for situps, burpees or other exercises, but I'm sure a safe location can be found with a bit of effort.
