What a nice park! It's hidden from the main roads and was a little hard to find. But once you do, it's great. It's huge. Two soccer/baseball fields, two basketball courts, and plenty of space to play frisbee or anything you want to do in a large field. The best part...there was nobody there. Perhaps it was because it was raining earlier in the day. Good for us, we got to enjoy it during the respite from the rain.

Really nice grassy open area park. When we went on a Saturday afternoon there were at least four different games going on. Some people brought what looked like their own nets, they were playing soccer as well as volleyball. In the distance some people were playing baseball and perhaps badminton? The playground Area was nice but kind of small for a large group of children. There's a small pathway that kind of loops around the park itself. We were able to walk our dogs through this area, while we kept them on a leash. Very nice quiet area as well.

Disgusting bathrooms, clogged poopy toilets with paper piled everywhere. The only unclogged toilet had water and dirt all over the seat because someone apparently STOOD on the toilet to use it. h

    Welcome entrance from Fabian Road.

This place has all the amenities and characteristics for you need for a park. It's safe, clean, not crowded, and has plenty of open space and seating. I come here atleast 2-3 times a day for a quick walk to get fresh air and a stretch for some exercise. There is a clear and well paced walk way around the park that offers a nice lap around the entire park. It's a good 10 minute walk. Perfect for a quick outside jaunt. A collection of geese hang out here and are beautiful to watch. There are many squirrels and occasionally it's fun to see a dog try and chase them. There is also a skate park with street art. Real cool. I might bring my board and hang out occasionally. There is plenty of seating around the park and clusters of trees so you can easily find a private spot for a nap or picnic. I'll be returning here often!

This is the soccer field and softball field. Behind are the basketball courts and restrooms.

Great park! I love to sit in my car and work on my papers. Today I really needed to use the bathroom, the restrooms here we great to use. I love the green fields and the shaded parking area. The sound of nature and the sound of the 101 is relaxing. Even though it is busy here at times it is always peaceful and no one has bothered me yet. The flowers are beautiful and well kept.

I went to this park for a potluck and it's quite big, there's a lot of space and a few tables to use. It's a nice area overall.

Nice, large park. There are a lot of kiddie sports going on during the weekends but it is big enough to still not be crowded.

There were 2 volunteers who were helpful explaining everything. On the way out with our 6 month old boy and 9 month old girl we stopped at the playground near the parking (which was adequate given it was a Friday afternoon). They had a wonderful time swinging on the swings. There were a full set of play things available for slightly older children. Everything was as clean as could be expected. We had a very nice day at the park.

There are two donkeys that live there. They are named April and Buddy. You can see them walking the park with their care takers from time to time. You can meet the donkeys for a walk on Sundays from 10-11 a.m. There use to be three donkeys. The third was named Perry and he passed this year, 2025. Perry was the donkey that Disney's- Shrek's donkey was based off of. They are gentle and sweet and friendly to visitors. You can donate to the donkeys at https://barronparkdonkeys.org. My dog and I love walking the pathways and hanging out around the grass fields and trees. It's a great place for kids because of the cute playground, picnic tables and water fountains.

What I like: Free entry, huge free parking lot, and bathrooms. You can keep it simple with a walk or bike ride on the trails, or make it more of an activity day with the lake. The lake is manmade and they have a boathouse where you can rent equipment. Sailing, paddle boating, that kind of vibe. I've also seen the boathouse area used for group events, so it's good for a casual outing or even something organized. A few practical notes: It's mostly flat, which is great, but there's very little shade, so if it's sunny bring water and plan accordingly. Weekends can get crowded, especially when the weather is good. Overall, it's a clean, convenient park with enough variety that you can keep coming back and not get bored.

Unfortunately, the Rengstorff House just closed when we arrived. We were able to walk around and check out the lake and some of the other areas though.
