A perfectly okay park located behind a school in Santa Clara. Lots of pre-teens running around screaming at each other (I'm not even kind of overstating that), some kids practicing kick-flips, you get the idea. Not much to do in the way of park equipment, sports, fields, etc., but it's a good place to bring your dog or have a picnic on a nice day. I'd like to think there are better parks for both of those things nearby, but I'm not from the area and likely will never be back out here again. If you like grass, you'll enjoy this park.

They have a great, brand new playground here! They have a smaller structure with a couple slides for the littler kids, and then a larger structure for the older kids. Plenty of swings and climbing structures and some cool elements you don't see at most other parks. Like a double swing that has a spot for a baby as well as an older child. I've never seen that before, very cool! There is a small parking lot off of Cabrillo Ave, but the playground is on the other side of the park so you may want to park on Shamrock and come in that way. There are plenty of picnic tables as well as plenty of grass for the kids to run around on. They have a drinking fountain with a bottle filler as well as a low fountain for the dogs! The only downside is the restrooms are on the opposite side of the park as the playground (over by the parking lot).

Picnic area near playground, opposite of the parking lot.

Need somewhere to eat lunch and relax. I'm not from Santa Clara. I found this place to be quaint, well kept and had many shaded areas to eat and enjoy nature. I will come back.

Grew up just a couple blocks from this park so I pretty much spent a good portion of my childhood here! There's lot of grass space for soccer, frisbee, football, or just running laps. The playground is still in nice condition- I remembered when they redid the play structure several years ago. I even broke my arm here! Neighborhood is safe. There's a little skate circle where you can find some skateboarding hoodlums but from what I can tell, they're harmless. On Saturdays or Sundays I believe you can watch people fight! I wanna say it's called LARPing but I'm not sure if that's different or not. Otherwise you'll find BBQs, swings, slide, bars, trees, benches, etc.

    Volleyball Saturdays!

So I met a group of people I play volleyball with @Sports Page and they told me about this park (Bowers) where a BIG group of people play. I got to the park at 1:00pm and played volley all oil like 5:45pm (Got dark). There were like 6-7 volleyball nets set up. The park itself is nice. A lot of grass and it seemed very big. Just like any park no alcohol but I'm sure you can figure something out :) The guys that ran the volleyball Rom & Bill were awesome! The are the Cheapers....you have to come on Saturdays to find out what that means.

it looks like a fun place to skate (skateboarding).

Not much to do really but a decent city park. Best part is there are 4 baby swings. Usually I can't get on one in ponderosa park.

Not residing in this county and visiting this park for the first time, I was blown away. I am sort of kind of okay totally envious and jealous. :) OVERALL: Very, very, very well kept and very, very, very clean. Nothing was or seemed broken down. Saw many people walk and play in the playground but not many people picnic/sunbathe. VARIETY: If you love water, there's a walk path for you. If you love redwoods, there's a walk path for you. If you love sunshine, there's a walk path for you. If you love bridges, there's a walk path for you. If you love pavilions, lights, nature, there's a place for you. If you love playgrounds, there's different ones for you to pick from and a super modern clean one too! PLAYGROUNDS: Wow. The equipment utilized is high end. The options is numerous of what one wants to do. The 3 hammocks are fantastic...this modern playground is gated with one entrance/exit door. Questionable individual sitting at the entrance with a table of "free gift," attempting you to entice you to join their program. Restrooms available. Simple parking with multiple spaces for you to pick from. Very ground level flat cement guided trails.

The Magical Bridge Playground is just around the corner from the waterfront, which makes it easy to go back and forth between nature and playtime. There's plenty of seating and grassy areas, so it's a great spot to bring a blanket and have a picnic. Restrooms are conveniently close by, which is always a plus when you're with kids. Pro tip: try parking in the first turn-in from the Homestead side--it's usually easier to find a spot and puts you closer to everything. Central Park really has something for everyone--whether you're there to play, relax, or just enjoy the wildlife.

Rarely any people came here. However from this visit, I came in the right time. It was sunny during the day and many people came here for a reason. Keep in mind that it's not a regional park but rather a wetland. When you look at the water, it's colored slightly red from its edges. Also, the trails are light since there is no elevation here. It's really good for jogging and biking. I've seen people do that here. The trails are very long which is why I selected a stop so I can turn back to where I started. Ideally, you want to come here in earlier in the morning so that you can hike longer and end sometime in the early afternoon. It was hot outside and I prefer not to hike longer. Basically, I powered walk from halfway. It's not necessary to bring hiking shoes due to light trails but you should use them if it's muddy. Perhaps, I should come here way earlier so that I can maybe hike longer.

You can smell the freshly cut wood as many of the benches throughout the park are cut directly from a tree, which looks so pretty and blending with the landscape. There is plenty of grass and posh playground areas for children, separated in various ages. The park seems designed mostly to cater the families that live in the adjacent high end apartment complexes, very close to famous companies. There are also several picnic tables and even chaise lounges and colorful chairs and various scenes, so not a monotone park. Definitively I will be visiting often. They have built this mini city inside Santa Clara in just a couple of years...nothing ago the Whole Foods was opened and all the nice restaurants and businesses nearby and the list is growing. So sometimes you don't know if you are at some company campus, the patio extension of one of those apartment complexes, the shopping center or the park itself. Hopefully this is kept in great condition and people don't destroy this beautiful park as i have seen happening to some newly built parks, unfortunately. Very pretty area also very close to the walking area that goes by the Guadalupe river and that many employees from the nearby companies use for relaxing and exercising during lunch time.
