Would you come to a picnic with 23 women? September 11, 2021, 20th anniversary of 9/11. Came here with wife to attend American Association of University Women (AAUW.org) "Welcome Back" picnic, with nonmembers welcome. Waited in our car for openings in the parking lot, as a girls soccer game finishing up on the twin diamond baseball fields. Parking lot right in front of recreation center with restrooms. 150 yard walk from restrooms to the reserved picnic area, critical knowledge for coffee drinking senior women. Passed by both a toddler playground with slides and animal riding statues, plus a child playground with a double 12' slide, and tree house, with swings. Eight picnic tables reserved for the fully vaccinated. Had no trouble talking conversation with the ladies, as had known many from the AAUW supper club meetings. AAUW president Adrienne F. sitting right across the table in front of me, and wife, ex president, to my side, making sure I behaved. Everyone expected to bring own plate and utensils, but wife had neglected to bring me one. Program Development Officer Autumn B came to the rescue with a spare plate and fork, before I could eat with my fingers directly from the serving bowl. Ended up sitting on the bench on the handles of what I thought was my wife's purse, until someone started pulling on it. Purse owner wasn't about to grope my butt to get her purse! At least they had white table cloths, as I remember league tennis lunches, only the women's teams and not the men's teams had table cloths. Here they not only used eight table cloths, but they were freshly laundry cleaned and ironed. And I have never ironed a table cloth in my life. End of the meal, after all the hot air speeches, returned the plate, to Autumn B, looking like it was licked clean. What manners? Wife neglected to bring napkins. Somebody gave me a clean napkin, as otherwise I was about to wipe my mouth off on the white table cloths. Would you come to a picnic with 23 women? Yes? How about 23 women aged 60+? 22 male spouses decided they would rather be elsewhere. read more

The amount of times I go to this park to use the restroom and get walked in on is ridiculous. On top of the little shatter windows that are in the front. Today of August 4th at 12:00 Pm I was using the restroom, and this older man walked in on me 3 TIMES, and tried to hold the door open to get in the first time. On the third time he started to stare at me through the windows since it's not covered and you can see if you look close enough. This is such an invasion of privacy, and if there was a real creep they could genuinely crawl under the 2nd door. That first door should be the one you lock not have a cover door where someone could potentially get in. Park is okay it's just the restroom issue that really makes it unsafe for any person. read more

Pulled out my folding table and camping chairs to have a cute little lunch with my daughter at Raynor Park. This is a neighborhood park in Cupertino that is super well maintained and beautiful. Lots of shaded areas to put up a picnic or make a reservation for some tables and BBQ to bring out a bunch of family and friends for a get together. It's a great place to stroll and get into group games, bring the kids, or have picnics. If you intend on long walking, either plan on many multiple trips around the park or choose a better destination to get in the miles. read more

Ran half a marathon at raynor park out of the blue. Decent run for 13.1 miles, flat roads for the most part for a complete noob runner. Some background: I go here for 1-3 mile runs and do a few push ups, crutches, and situps 4 times a week. Some spots can be busy at the park and pecks in the afternoon (1-3pm) this is post covid. This park ks in a safe neighborhood. A great park for your dog! read more

This is a good park, it's quaint and small, but has the right logistical set-up with shade in the children's play area, where so many of their peer competitor playgrounds often have the play areas in the middle of the blistering sun, heating up the play area to the touch and having direct UV rays beating down on the kids. I like this location and it's nice for toddlers. read more

Now that my little one is ONE, we've been visiting so many parks! Raynor Park is dinosaur themed, which is awesome. ROAR. There is a separate gated area for infants, with baby swings and little bouncing sit-on type things. She's still pretty little, so we can only really use the baby swings, but later, she can use the slides and ladders, and climbing structures. Baby also had a great time watching people play soccer and volleyball! We parked on the street, but there is also a parking lot. The restrooms are near the parking lot. There is also a large group picnic area and plenty of trees. We'd visit again! read more

One nice thing about Sunnyvale is that just about every neighborhood has a public park. For the Birdland neighborhood, it's Raynor Park. This 11 acre park opened in 1962 and is well-maintained to this day. It's nestled inside a safe, quiet suburban neighborhood. Wait, so no loud noise or crazy vehicular traffic? How quaint! Features: * Gated playground for toddlers * Separate playground for older children, with some unique features like dinosaur structures and a climbable rock * Two separate baseball diamonds * Large grassy area * One full basketball court * Horseshoe pit * Four picnic areas, each with a bbq grill * Drinking fountains and restrooms * Two medium-sized parking lots, and plenty of street parking The four picnic areas are reservable for Sunnyvale residents and businesses only. During the off season (November through March), these picnic areas operate on a first-come, first-served basis. The two restrooms are single-occupancy. The door of the men's room has no lock on it; instead, right behind the outer door is a smaller door with a 1.5-foot gap at the bottom. It's essentially like a bathroom stall door. THIS door does close and lock, but it's very easy to miss and is certainly non-intuitive. I'm assuming that the women's room is the same. Best to knock beforehand in case there's somebody inside who didn't realize that there's a lockable door! Other than the restroom situation, this place is a terrific medium-sized neighborhood park. read more

Very nice for late night walks. Many families with kids out there on the playground and riding bikes. It's not well lit as I'd like, but adequate enough. Enjoyed our walks throughout the park with our dogs. read more

Just a very sweet neighborhood park, Raynor Park has many things to offer a wide variety of people. Sent here because of the urge to letterbox, I found a nice park with several distinct advantages. There is a shaded picnic area. There are two sets of play structures, including one that is for younger children and completely fenced. A swing that allows for larger children with mobility issues is in the bigger play structure. The play structure for larger children is semi-fenced with seating that allows supervision without micromanaging. There is are several large ceramic-type dinosaurs and painted dinos and their tracks appear throughout the park. I found this to be charming and if I was a year or two younger, I would have been climbing all over those dinos! I saw several people out strolling in the park and enjoying it's pleasantness. There were also some skaters who were practicing their riffs on the long flat and paved surfaces. It was a sweet way to close out the day. read more

Raynor continues to be a favourite contendor as far as Sunnyvale parks go. My son is always excited when we turn onto Quail and will shout "PAHK PAHK!" (PARK!PARK!). Why this park rocks: 1. CLEANLINESS. the groundskeeper(s) are super nice and are always doing a fantastic job and maintaining the beauty of this park. 2. DINOSAURS. what kid doesn't love dinosaurs!!! the kid just discovered the dinosaur tracks the other day (we've been coming to this park for at least 2 years now.) 3. OPTIONS. a)theres a small gated area for toddlers with height appropriate play structures. b)there's also a larger play area for older kids (and for toddlers like mine, who now are in the transistion stage where they prefer the "big pahk." c)not forgetting, the large open, circular cement area where my son likes to ride his strider, play tball and run in circles. have also witnessed groups of children bring tether balls to attach to available poles, play 4 square, jump rope and "galaxy".... ALL these kids playing all these games in the same area (cement area), that should give you an estimate on how big that is. e)huge grassy area to play whatever your heart desires 4. SEATING/PICNIC AREAS. the availability of shade available even in the scorching mid-day sun is plentiful. while the play areas remain unshaded, there is such an amazing amount of trees providing cool shade (ex: a lot of grassy area near the playground is shaded, a good part of the "outter ring" (outter ring of cement area) remains shaded in the afternoon. I have seen at least 2 different schools with 2 big sets/groups of children each share the shade and still have loads of shade/picnic area left for other play groups and other families. 5. NICE CROWD: no matter what time of day I go, whether its morning, noon or later afternoon - the parents/grandparents/guardians/caretakers and the children are super sweet. of all the parks we visit, this one has the friendliest crowd. Sunnyvale has awesome parks and (even though it doesn't have a water feature like Ortega or Las Pulmas) it remains our favourite. read more

This sunnyvale park is nice, although I wish there were most trees around the playground area as it can get pretty hot when temperatures are in the 90's. The sun can be scorching without any shade. There's a nice lawn for kids to run around and a circular area to play in. Smaller children's playground has a fence around it which helps to keep the little ones in. read more

We had a wonderful afternoon enjoying this unique park close to Apple, Inc. it was an enjoyable visit and allowed two separate play structures for young children and one for older children. The circular trail was a good size and many families were enjoying their time on the green grass or the picnic table areas. If I am ever in the area, I would be glad to return and enjoy this park with its many areas (including washrooms/bathrooms) with suitable amount of parking spaces. read more

This is a fun park, with large open grassy areas, tree-lined walk paths and even a large circular cement pit for gladiator-style battles between children. Not too far away from the Lawrence Expressway exit, but far enough to feel like a true neighborhood park. Lots of kids during the early afternoon in the playground and baseball fields, and clean rest restrooms. There could be more shade during the summer months, but then again, playing in the open air means playing in the open air. read more

Big, open park with plenty of shady and interesting play structures for the kids. There's sand, and baby slides for the little tykes and big swirly slides and swings for the big kids. There's really something for everyone. My kids love to bring their trikes here to ride around in the big circular cement area that always seems to be high in demand. This park is so wonderful, in fact, that it's always packed. On weekends there's soccer games and weekdays there are always old grandparents bringing their grandkids here before naptime. This park is popular, no doubt, but I still love it! read more

I like this park , has a gated play area for toddlers and babies , and on a road with lots of parking in addition to the parking at the park . Crowd seems nice and quiet , kids behave better in this neighborhood , than in my own area . . . read more

Do not bother attempting to reserve this park UNLESS you live in Sunnyvale. We wanted kid safe/friendly while still having a decent set up for adults..since not all of us have kids. They should really list on the website that IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A SUNYVALE RESIDENCE YOU CAN NOT RESERVE ANYTHING FOR A PARTY. Its a damn shame! We had a party of 50+ trying to make a reservation but were DENIED because I don't live in Sunnyvale. Good to know Sunnyvale has enough $ to turn down a big group for a weekend day that had no reservations. The woman handling the reservation over the phone told me a) they could not give me the applications online, via fax OR snail mail b) I had to come down to some office in sunnyvale and GET all the paper work myself and c) I actually could NOT rent anything because I don't live in Sunnyvale. WOW! Way to go Sunnyvale. read more

Raynor Park is off of Lawrence Expressway and Benton Street in Sunnyvale. Great neighborhood park, and it's near an elementary school. The children's play area is great. There's a separate toddler area from the 'big kids' play area. Both are gated, which is a plus when you have a little one who likes to run around. There were few children when we went. More adults than children it seemed. The grandparents of the children like to get together there with the kids as a place to talk and socialize. The toddler area has a large sand area, a low eleveation play structure, with a small climbing wall and short slides. There are two swings. The big kids play area has higher elevation play structure and it's much bigger, too. There are swings with sand, but the big wow factor for the kids are the two large stone cllimbing sculptures of a dinosaur and pterodactyl. There is also a "boulder" for climbers too. Great park. And there are bathrooms! Another plus. There are benches to sit and watch. I would go back here again! read more

Park is nice. I did not see the whole park so I can't comment on that. However, it had a nice toddler area. My 19 month old son enjoyed it. It is fenced in which is nice. You still have to follow a little toddler around it but one of the nicer toddler play areas I've come across. Does have a nice area for older kids. read more

Thumbs up for this park having an ADA swing for those of us with disabled children. Thumbs down for the parents that lack the sense to pull their non-disabled children away from it for just 10 minutes to allow a disabled child to use it. If you have a disabled child don't bother going when there is a crowd. read more

This is a great park! We have been going here for years. The remodel has done wonders. New playground, equipment and etc. Separate play area for the really little ones. Nice space for running and playing games. read more
