I've used this post office for over 30 years, and whenever I have had an issue (usually with mail holds), it's been addressed and rectified quickly. I've lived in other places in Florida (Jacksonville), and the mail service and help when I've called is HORRIBLE. I've had packages misdelivered to Puerto Rico and and a number of packages never delivered at all. And I've only lived here a few years. Montgomery Village PO compares very, very favorably.

The people that work there are very nice and attentive, especially the postmaster at this branch. However, at least once a week and sometimes more, I get someone else's mail. It's usually for the house after mine. No idea why this keeps happening. I see them reaching into a tray and grabbing what appears to be a pre-bundled pack of mail and putting in my box. When I go through it, yup, my neighbor's mail mixed with mine. I used to deliver it to them myself but started putting it back in my box with the flag up. Sometimes I leave a note ("Wrong house") and sometimes I just put it back in my box and the next day's carrier hopefully understands why. But even that doesn't work. Next day, wrong mail, again! Of course it makes me wonder who is getting my mail.

These cards are being mailed to addresses in MD, VA, SC, NC, FL, and AZ, and the same thing has happened...all with one common denominator. They were mailed from the Olney Post office. Yes, I know, I know...you are not supposed to send cash in the mail. But that does not excuse the absolute disgusting behavior of the thieves or the felony that is being committed by clearly someone who works for the United States Postal Service. I walked in today with it being my first visit to Parcel Plus and was immediately greeted by the…read morestaff. Kevin made sure I had all the proper paperwork for my shipment and told me I was potentially missing a proper label. He said he'd give me a call to let me know if the driver couldn't take the package with the label I provided. He even said he could pack everything up for me and make sure proper documents were inside the package as well as visible on the outside. Kevin followed up with me later in the day to confirm that the package got sent out without issue. I just feel like this customer service was above and beyond and I'm very appreciative. It looked like a well stocked location and with the friendly service, I'd be happy to do business here again. 10/10 positive experience.

Yes, race. While I routinely attempted to obtain MY mail, Htut was dismissive and told me to pick it up the next morning. While I was being "dis-serviced" by him, a Caucasian family in line next to me received the utmost, quality customer service from their respective postal employee. Htut's obvious bias is evident, because (as it goes without saying, I'm African American), why reject a simple query that should be met without any impasse? At first, he claimed the post office wasn't allowed to release a customer's mail/packages until the next business day, but I corrected his obvious misinformation and told him in 23 years of living in this community, this was the only time I've been told this. I've probably intercepted my mail over 200 times during this span, but again, this biased individual must have thought I was so ignorant, I'd believe him, then leave. Long story short, I called another post office to ask them if I could pick up my mail there if I showed proof, through ID and/or tracking number, and they affirmed it would be no problem, as long as I come during business hours. When I presented this information to the biased Mr. Htut, coupled with my promise to expose his level of disrespect on Twitter and possibly a news outlet, he released my package after showing my proper credentials. Please, if you ever experience a comparable situation here, simply expose him publicly. There's no need for miscreants like him in government.
