He was exceptionally courteous, professional, and helpful throughout my visit. After reading some of the online reviews, I was a little concerned about what to expect, but my experience was quite the opposite. I had an appointment, waited only about 20 minutes, and was fortunate to be helped by one of the nicest representatives I have encountered. Mr. Alexander was friendly, efficient, and attentive to my needs. He handled my request quickly and thoroughly, which I greatly appreciated since I was visiting during my lunch break and needed to return to work promptly. Thank you, Mr. Alexander, for your outstanding customer service and for making my visit such a positive experience. Your professionalism and kindness are truly appreciated.

Services, per the sign posted in their window, include: driver's license, CDL, and ID services; vehicle related services; and knowledge/written testing. Driving tests are only available at full service Branches in Gaithersburg and White Oak. Kemp Mill shopping Center has plenty of parking and is off of Arcola Avenue in between University Blvd. and Georgia Ave. This branch is open by appointment only and we didn't need their services at this time, but the facility looked spacious and well laid out.

There was no way for us to open the pipe and pull Roscoe's toe out. I remembered tales of firefighters rescuing kitties in trees, so I called 911. I told the dispatcher it was a dog, not a "true" emergency (Of course to me, my husband, and Roscoe it was). I didn't know who else to call. Five minutes later the dispatcher called me . KVFD was on its way. My heroes. Even now, 5 years later, I still feel that thick thud of helplessness deep in the well of my stomach. But OMG KVFD were at the Starbucks right across University! They drove to our street and stopped in front at our house. I don't remember if they had lights and sirens on -- I imagine they did.. Of course they did. My heroes.. I was surrounded by four handsome men in the basement (my husband included) as they assessed the situation and determined the best way to approach it.. One went out and got tools.. I paced back and forth like a lunatic. In fewer than five minutes, my heart dog and his toe were freed from the drain. My heroes. There were no emergencies at the time the dispatcher contacted them, and these men were able to come right away. They didn't have to. But they did. I wanted to hug each of them. I imagine I did. My heroes. We can add an additional tale to the one about kitties in trees. Dogs from sinks. My heroes. They waved good bye to us as the drove away ....in the huge ladder truck. My heroes. I will forever be indebted to these men. My heroes.

I have very serious concerns about the Montgomery County Police…read more I was working as a poll-worker in Primary Day. A Montgomery County Police Officer working private security at the Bender Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington ejected me from a polling place in violation of the First Amendment. I was beyond the "No Electioneering" sign. contrary to what is seen in the video, the big sign that was right there was not the new election sign. The no election sign was several feet away from that and it was in bushes. I have been an election judge. I have been a poll worker. We tell people to get back behind the no electioneering sign all the time. That is for election judges. It is not for the bender Jewish community center of greater Washington to use an off duty police officer to eject a poll worker. The law says that they're supposed to make their parking lot available to members of the public for election hearing if they are a poling place. But they gladly eject pool workers from pulling places when they try to term limit our County Executive. This is the East Coast of the United States, not eastern Europe. Get it right!

What a great library! I'm so excited to have it so close to our new home. It has a great children's…read moreselection which is number one in my book. We were able to get Set up with a library card in no time. I just asked of the front desk and minutes later the card was in my hand. My son was very happy to find Lego books, Berenstein books, curious George books, Star Wars books and many others! Also, there's an indoor play area for the younger ones which is great to have! Just outside is a terrific playground! It's mostly fenced in which is helpful. There are no swings, but there is plenty to climb and spin around on and slide down!

The Rec Center: Overall, I liked the layout of the rec center, and the folks that helped with getting a card were SUPER friendly and helpful. While I have not officially used the rec center, I was a bit disappointed with the the size of the weight room. The size of the weight room reminds of a weight room that one would find in a hotel. However, the gym did look like it had everything that one would need for a decent workout. Also, I was a bit surprised that the rec center does not open until 9 am on weekdays (and Saturday). Based on my prior rec center experiments, I'm used to rec centers opening from 5:30 to 7 am. Then again, perhaps, these hours are for the summer months. The Library: Again, the librarian who signed me up for a card was very friendly. Also, I loved how she gave me a very thorough overview of this branch's services and resources. Although I was in the library for only a few minutes, I thought it was very well organized.
