Jury Duty perspective:…read more The court house opens at 7:30am regardless of what time your jury duty starts. For me orientation began at 8:30am.... didn't actually start until 9:10. I arrived to the parking lot at 7:43am and there was plenty of parking. The lot isn't huge though so if you wait until 8am or after you may not have a parking spot. With that being said the Rockville metro stop is within walking distance and is a great option. The building was pretty easy to find from the parking lot and a quick walk. Security was easy and took maybe a minute total. I didn't see any signs at security indicating where I should go but the security guard informed me to take the elevator to floor 2. Once upstairs it was obvious where to go. Once entering the jury lounge the jury commission helped me check in using a kiosk. You're able to choose if you want to donate your $15 or not. Unfortunately I was unable to donate due to my employer policy. *side note- make sure you fully understand your policy at work. Once in the lounge I recommend trying to avoid the mass crowd seating and go into the smaller room with comfortable chairs. Here you'll find outlets and the seats aren't as hard. There are computers for use location in the main room- I didn't use them but appreciate them. There was also magazines and vending machines for our use. While there's wifi it's pretty spotty with a million people trying to connect to it. I would recommend bribing a book or a movie to watch because you could be there a while.

Judge John C. Moffett does not create a level playing field in his courtroom for tenants. He favors…read morethe landlords. He knows nothing about HB 1117 --- so he rules with a lack of knowledge. Rent escrow can be dismissed --- especially if a landlord fails to disclose to their tenants that they are being exposed (on a regular basis) to dangerous defects in their building. This standard uplifts a level playing field --- where landlords are called upon to be transparent and accountable for failure to follow the law. In other words, if landlords are neglectful in fixing conditions that threaten life, health or safety concerns --- he should not rule in their favor. Since most of the tenants that arrive in his court are Latino and African American who tend to rent from Landlords who do not mind if there are dangerous defects in their buildings from lead paint, cracks in the walls, mold, asbestos --- and rats, he has normalized and sanctioned racial inequalities in his decisions and seems proud of it. He should be replaced by a black judge who knows the purpose of a courtroom. He should be replaced because his joke about "the landlords are going to make a lot of money today" without yet hearing one case --- proves this point. Again, he should be replaced so the court can be a place where racial equality lives.

Kallie Crawford of Krum Gergely represented me. I choose to go with her because:…read more 1) Krum Gergely was the best reviewed firm of the traffic lawyers that reached out to me 2) When doing a phone consultation with Kallie - she had the most practical strategy and best advice by far. She didn't use scare tactics or extremism like other consultations. And she seemed to really understand my circumstance. 3) The retainer cost was also the most competitive by far! Throughout the process (pre court), her team was responsive by text and email, including remainders on court date and traffic school recommendation, which I greatly appreciated. They seemed really on top of it and available. Most importantly, the day of my traffic hearing she was really proactive and aggressive in handling the process. She negotiated with all parties and then represented me to the judge as well. She made sure the terms worked for me. I didn't have to face the judge, prosecutor or witness. She handled everything. The entire process literally took about 20 minutes and I was on my way with the most favorable outcome. Super efficient and stress free process, after months of worrying about the outcome. I wished I had hired her earlier on. Overall I would rate the experience 10/10 and could not recommend them more!!! So very grateful and eternally thankful!!! I couldn't be happier with the services offered. Highly highly recommend.
