Housed in an adorable white sided house in a residential area, this PO is quite small and cramped with an awkward parking lot in back. Sometimes there's a long line, sometimes there's nobody. Often the clerks are cheerful, every once in a while they're surly and/or slow. Even so, it's a nice feeling walking into this post office and not being a cold and sterile place where people could care less about you, which is how the larger post offices (like the one near Westfields) typically feel like.

The guy I interacted with was polite, helpful, and efficient. Overall a good experience. While waiting in line, I had the pleasure of witnessing a few "difficult" transactions. Every single one was the customer's fault. Look, if you don't know what you want, and can't make a decision when the employee clearly lays out your options for you, I have no idea what you expect them to do. They're neither magicians nor therapists. I'm not saying this post office doesn't make mistakes or that every employee is terrific all the time, but in my sample, they were 100% blameless. EDIT: I'm updating this to 5 stars. The people working at this post office deal with some of the rudest, stubbornest, most ill-prepared customers I've ever seen, and they do it with a level of patience and courtesy I could only dream to achieve. They've done a wonderful job for me every time I've been in there. Today, one of the employees had worked through her lunch break and wouldn't go because there was a long line. (It was 2:30 PM.) That's dedication. If you think they're mean or abrasive, I would recommend being a decent human being to them. It works amazingly well.

The new employees who don't care to do their job appropriately nor efficiently have taken over this location. Last week, I sent a package to the west coast. Surprisingly it was returned to sender, although the name and address were correct. The postage paid was $25. We returned to the post office today with the package to resolve the issue. The new employee was the only one on duty as it was not busy. She understood what the problem was and said there was nothing she could do, she would call the supervisor upstairs. After waiting 20 minutes, Ann Marie the supervisor came to the counter. She understood what the problem was and took the package into the back. After another five minutes of waiting another employee, who was not Ann Marie the supervisor, comes to the counter and exclaims there is nothing they can do there! It is not there problem! We would have to pay another $25! She began shouting insults! We could see Ann Marie and another employee peeking out from the back to the front, clearly staying in the background and letting the unhinged employee wearing a t-shirt, no indication of USPS on her clothing, handle their situation. This belligerent employee's behavior was erratic and unpredictable. We left that post office and will never return, after 40 years.

Parking was challenging and treacherous--every spot was full despite it being a weekday morning, and people were pulling out from in front of the store right into the lane for drive-thru letter drop off. That was December 8 and I went in today January 13th asking about the status. I was instructed to hire a locksmith and come back with receipt to get a refund. When I ask to speak to a manager they said the manager would not speak to me. So I pretty much donate my money to the postal service.
