The prices feel a little high here (admittedly, I'm not a local, but I've been to London four other times before this trip), but the local pub feel is legit in this place, and we thought the Indian was some of the best food we had in this otherwise not-foodie-friendly town. We tried the saag paneer, chicken Tikka masala, a couple of the naans and some steamed rice. Mostly solid, although the naan was a little stiff for my normal taste. This is the only restaurant we ate at twice during our week in London, that's how much we loved it! It was our first meal after arrival and our last meal on our final night. The Warwick Arms has a quirky decor and charming ambiance. It's a typical British pub, and although it has a section of the menu devoted to British pub classics, the majority of the menu is dedicated to Indian cuisine. I'm not sure if there are other pubs in London serving Indian food, but it is the perfect combination! We sampled many dishes during our 2 visits here, including chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, saag paneer, vegetable biryani, basmati rice, and garlic and cilantro naan. Everything was absolute perfection. There wasn't a single bite of food that we didn't love. The Pimm's and Lemonade was a delightful and refreshing discovery for us. We enjoyed glasses of it our first night, and then on our final night when we returned with a larger group we split a pitcher. Our server was polite and friendly on both occasions. I was honestly unsure before visiting the Warwick Arms because although the reviews online are fantastic their website is minimal and doesn't even publish their menu, but I am so glad we stopped by. We were excited to try the food at this place. The ratings were high. We checked the hours and it stated that it was open until midnight, so we stopped there around 10pm and were told that the kitchen closed at 9.45 as normal. What a delightful little gem. My husband and I were in the UK for a brief respite between our trips staying at the Residence Inn - Kensington. We had Italian the past 2 nights and decided to try a pub nearby. We were intrigued because it was close to the hotel and that it said it had Indian cuisine. I have been to Britain loads of times but a pub with Indian? I was mystified. The ambience of the restaurant is pure English pub but the food brings you to Bombai. My colleagues and I were trying to search for places that were allowed "in seat" dining and not takeaway as we were sick of being in the hotel due to Covid restrictions. Very small interior with just a few tables/stools for in person dining. The menu had a variety of options, but the food we tried was just alright. First time we got Indian (which is their main fare) and fish and chips. Recommend the first, not so much the second. FYI a lot of food. Indian leftovers the next night for me. I was lucky enough to stumble upon this place while at a meeting across the street. I had been looking for Indian food all week, and I walked in for a pint and ended up with a great Indian meal. Certainly, an English pub feel with outstanding Indian food. The place was very quiet for Wednesday night but good for me as I was able to walk right in and order. They allowed me to get several different dishes which honestly were all outstanding. The nan was outstanding and perfect for soaking up the outstanding curry sauces. A fun little place with a British Pub set up but mostly Indian food. They do have some traditional Pub food if you need it, and some classic ales, but the focus is Indian. As a single diner, hard to get a feel for the full menu, but there is a quite a selection and the tandoori partridge was quite good. It comes with naan bread (so don't order more as a side, like I managed to do) and they have Port for an after dinner treat. A nice small pub feel, with an Indian twist for food, and east European girls behind the bar. Highly recommended by the hotel staff, had three people recommend it over the week. One of our locals, a 10 minute walk north from Earl's Court along the Warwick Road. The location isn't terribly encouraging at first sight: the Warwick Road is a bit of a motorway and the pub is opposite Homebase. But there's a small side road which provides some respite, and once inside you are not aware of the traffic. It gets very busy at lunchtimes and after work with local office workers, and is also a stop-off point for visitors to various events at Earl's Court Exhibition centre (concerts and the Beer Festival) on their way back to their hotels. The interior is traditional, with lots of wood, and different areas to sit - one area with tables and chairs, another with sofas by the fire, a brick-lined snug, and lots of seats outside. The interior is decorated with a varied and haphazard selection of pictures, prints and - in one corner - old record sleeves, and the ceiling is adorned with pots and kettles and the like from antique shops. They sell the usual range of Fullers' beers, usually well kept, although they are at the top end of the price range - that's Kensington for you. They also have an extensive Indian food menu which (as wilk says) is served until closing time at 10pm. (They very occasionally stop serving food a little early if they are very quiet so, if you are going there after 9pm, ring ahead to check). The quality is very good for the money - thalis start at around £7 - and is a viable alternative to going to a restaurant around here. read more
