Updated Review: Warren Barbeque (Formerly Brasa Wood-Fired Grill) Under new ownership or management, this spot has rebranded as Warren Barbeque--and it's thriving. The food remains as delicious as ever, with the familiar cozy interior unchanged. Highlights include the tasty chicken, perfectly seasoned rice, and hearty beans that hit all the right notes for authentic Portuguese BBQ. A few minor tweaks could elevate it further: Opt for larger plates to make meals feel more generous, and help the staff sync up with clearer routines and better internal communication--they're a bit scattered at times, likely from overzealous hospitality. Their energy is infectious and genuine; just let it flow naturally, and it'll shine even brighter. With time, it'll all settle seamlessly. The menu's been smartly refreshed, with far more reasonable prices that ditch the old fine-dining pretensions. Now it's the no-fuss Portuguese BBQ joint we all crave. Keep up the great work--I'll be back!

It's a very nice place. We were able to be seated right away. The food was very good. We would order from here again.

Good food, Great service, Clean and great environment for family or date night . My two boys loved the food , my 9 year old said their fries are the best . LoL I would highly recommend.

Veggie Wrap - Seasonal grilled vegetables, goat cheese spread, baby mixed greens, balsamic, spinach wrap

Five stars for being a fresh selection of menu options. Being new they have some bugs to work out, but I'll touch on those within the review... Coming for lunch the VEGGIE WRAP - Seasonal grilled vegetables, goat cheese spread, baby mixed greens, balsamic, spinach wrap is really great. It doesn't appear on the dinner menu, but it does appear on the Grubhub delivery menu, so is it available all day long? I'm not 100% sure. Either way, the menu is broad enough to have several things I am wanting to try so coming here for dinner one night I had the "COSTELA VACA" BEEF SHORT RIBS - Flanken cut with soy+gochujang or chipotle+brown sugar glaze. I had no idea what "flanken" cut was but just rolled with the idea of giving them a try. It is not something I have seen before, but it worked out very well for dinner and is something I would have again. The bread served table side for dinner is a nice add to the lunch experience. Someone else at the table had the CRISPY SKIN SALMON - Cilantro lime rice, cucumber+feta+olive salad & grilled lemon and was very happy with it. (This is from a person who sometimes is turned off by fish dishes in general) Also, at the request of someone else I ordered a BRASA BURGER - 8oz brisket blend, aged cheddar, Caramelized onion-bacon jam, Blue ribbon sauce on a Portuguese muffin, and they rated it an 8.8 out of 10 which was quite a high rating for the large spectrum of burgers this person has tried. The BERRY-LICIOUS sangria with a Riesling wine worked out well for the table. I think they need to do a better job of describing the sangria experience for the table and also add this information to their website. At the moment I believe I only see a delivery menu on their site. Great if that is what you are doing, not so great if you are trying to figure out what your in person experience is going to be. Speaking of alcohol, they do have a selection of ATHLETIC BEER. Though described as non-alcohol it does have a small amount (less than 0.5% ABV) and never having had or seen it before it was nice to try here. However, served table side in a glass with ICE? No, please don't do that again! Another bonus for the place is a QR code for payment. No, you don't have to use it, but it is there, and I truly wish EVERY place would do this. HOWEVER, at least on an iPhone using Apple Pay (which seems to be the only choice given when bringing up the bill) Amex did not work for me. Selecting a Visa card in my Apple Pay Wallet worked, but something is quirky with the Clover POS they are using, and no, don't blame the customer for this.

BEWARE: This is page 6 from the ABC Beverage Control Handbook for Municipal Issuing Authorities.

Nice ambiance and although the food was really good, I cannot say the same about the service. This restaurant charges a corkage fee without having a liquor license. According to page 6 from the ABC Handbook for Municipal Issuing Authorities, what they are doing is illegal. When I challenged the waiter, the restaurant would not remove the fee. It's not the cost of the fee that is the problem for me. The problem is that this action is not legal. The restaurant clearly needs the $5 more than I do given how empty they were for a Saturday night. In addition, at 9:10pm we were handed the bill without being given a dessert menu. When I asked for one, I was told the kitchen closed at 9:00pm. Any other server would have come to the table to say "The kitchen is closing soon. Would you like to put in dessert orders?" Well, that did not happen here. Their loss because I know there is a lot of profit for restaurants in dessert and coffee. They were clearly more concerned about leaving as one of the workers started sweeping the floors at around 8:30pm. Too bad, they lost a potential regular patron.

Pleasantly surprised as soon as we walked into Brasa, the vibe/ambiance was very nice. They did a great job styling the restaurant, very comfortable and very hip. Our waiter was great, very attentive. We split the riblets (wibs) appetizer which was delicious, nice and crispy and the sauce was delicious. My husband had the beef ribs for dinner, said they were great and I had the garlic chicken. The Portuguese fries and the rice were delicious as was the chicken but a little tough. Brasa is a BYO and we definitely will be returning.

There was thin sliced ribeye with cherry peppers, onions, and cheese. The meat was tasty and flavorful while the cherry peppers added a slight kick. I would have actually liked a few more. The cheese was melted throughout, which I enjoyed too. I also tried the caramel ginger shrimp that came with peanuts, scallions, and some coleslaw too. The flavor and crunch on the shrimp were very unique. The caramel was definitely tasted and at times was too sweet, but the flavor was so interesting that it made me want to keep eating. The cook and crunch from the panko on the shrimp was the key. Will I go back? I would.

Some might say too much time. Some might say. So I just typically avoid the area because it brings back so much...stuff. When it transitioned to Stateside sometime during the early days of the pandemic we did get take out once and it was delicious - I still dream about the Brussels sprouts. But it was a bit expensive when everyone was dying and all. Like am I really gonna risk my life for $16 sprouts? I think not. Now I think it's under new - new management. My cousin stopped by there about a month ago when she was in the area and gave it great reviews. I was feeling A Kind of Way a couple of weekends ago and just really wanted a cold beer. So me and huzzo stopped in. Service was good and beer was solid. This week I wanted another beer. Blame your president as he insists upon annihilating everyone and sending our collective pressure through the roof. We arrived about 20 minutes before the end of Happy Hour and snagged a couple of beers as well as wings and a shrimp quesadilla. The food was great but the service was the real stunner. I found myself stuck between two beers and the bartender suggested Arnold Palmering it and going halfsies on both. Fantastic decision - the mixed drink was refreshing and tart without being too pedestrian or too far afield. Food came out quickly and deliciously. Saved $15 on food prices alone during Happy Hour. Fat things: The bar stools are excellent - steel with a wide seat and a foot bar so your legs don't fall asleep. And they don't pack too many of them in so it's easy to get into and out of your seat without bumping someone else. Other stuff: They have regular indoor seating and an outdoor seating area on the side with couches, high table, and heat lamps. Overall, the space is open, airy, bright, and clean. It's pretty packed when the temps warm up but shoulder season is very nice for us right now. Be advised: Regular menu prices still seem steep - like everything else these days. But the food is good and they have a very nice craft beer selection. If you can't make happy hour and are looking to treat yourself this might be it. We'll def return!

The food is still great. We had scallops, chorizo, brussels sprouts, and a flounder ceviche special. Everything was delicious. The ceviche in particular stood out -- fresh, well-portioned, and nicely "cooked" in lime juice. The sangria is still a highlight too. A big carafe, no ice watering it down, served with glasses full of fruit. The problem is the service. They had two servers and one bus person, and it showed. Everyone seemed to be scrambling, and it was hard to get a moment of attention to ask for anything or even be heard. Our food came out in pieces -- three items, then a long delay, then another. The last dish, calamari, never came. When I tried to tell the waiter we didn't want it anymore if it was forgotten, he didn't listen and insisted on bringing it anyway. We ended up waiting even longer, which just made the experience more frustrating. To top it off, they're now adding an operating/service fee (around 3-4%), which wasn't clearly communicated and just showed up on the bill. It's disappointing because the food is still very good, but the service issues -- and now the added fees -- are taking away from the experience. After this visit, we'll think twice before coming back.

I would pass on the bibimbap next time, it was kind of bland and the crispy rice was burnt instead of golden. The japchae was the star of the meal. So much flavor, perfect cook of the noodles, and thin beef. If I wasn't sharing dishes, I would get this all for myself. Garlic fried rice was okay, but not the best. Also seems like they don't give you a side of pickled radish at this point, but maybe that's because we're in Jersey. Also the kimchi fries weren't what I expected. What the fries were crispy and tasty, they just give you a tiny cup of kimchi cheese sauce. Maybe I'm spoiled, but I expected the fries to be way more loaded. I ordered for pickup and it did take a lot longer than expected. Usually 2-3 when I take something home for myself or feeding a group of like 6 with 2 mains and a starter. Amazing place to meet up with friends! I'll be going back soon to say the least.

I went back to Bonney's within 6 days of my very first visit! It's that good. I wanted to try the…read moreOxtail large plate but unfortunately it wasn't on the menu this week. I ended up getting the Lechon large plate instead and it was also so good! If I had to choose, I'd probably put the Half & Half jerk chicken & pork large plate above this one but it's a hard choice. To go I also ordered an order of their Mac & Cheese, the sample I got last week really had me hooked. I saw that they also had a new empanada - pineapple and cheese. Wow, that was also such a cool and tasty item. Would be good for the meatless eaters. Lastly, I had another one of the fresh juices. This time they had Soursop Kaffir Lime Tea, so unique and refreshing. I can't wait to go back again.
