A large order of Chicken Picadinho with Yellow Rice
    Donna R.

I was in the mood for Portuguese BBQ and wanted to get some takeout. I decided to try Brasa Wood- Fired Grill. I placed my order over the phone and it was ready in 25 minutes for pickup. I started with 2 Beef Empanadas. They were hot with a crispy outside and a soft and tender inside. They were good. Brasa offers a variety of fillings for their Empanadas like Chicken, Pork, or Beef. I then chose for my main dish their Large size Chicken Picadinho. It's enough for two people. I must say after trying many other places that Brasa Wood Fired Grill has the best Picadinho in the area. What makes theirs so good is they add potatoes and sausage in it with the Chicken and Yellow Rice. Their Yellow Rice was very moist and tender it wasn't dry like other places. I really enjoyed every bite. Brasa offers Salads, and a Variety of different Sandwiches, Sides like Sweet Plantains, Mexican Street Corn, Burgers, Shrimp in Garlic Sauce, Wings, Shrimp Ceviche and more. This place is casual with a warm and cozy feel. The staff is very nice and friendly. They do have some seating for dining in. The food is delicious! This will definitely be my go to for Portuguese BBQ.

Updated Review: Warren Barbeque (Formerly Brasa Wood-Fired Grill) Under new ownership or management, this spot has rebranded as Warren Barbeque--and it's thriving. The food remains as delicious as ever, with the familiar cozy interior unchanged. Highlights include the tasty chicken, perfectly seasoned rice, and hearty beans that hit all the right notes for authentic Portuguese BBQ. A few minor tweaks could elevate it further: Opt for larger plates to make meals feel more generous, and help the staff sync up with clearer routines and better internal communication--they're a bit scattered at times, likely from overzealous hospitality. Their energy is infectious and genuine; just let it flow naturally, and it'll shine even brighter. With time, it'll all settle seamlessly. The menu's been smartly refreshed, with far more reasonable prices that ditch the old fine-dining pretensions. Now it's the no-fuss Portuguese BBQ joint we all crave. Keep up the great work--I'll be back!

It's a very nice place. We were able to be seated right away. The food was very good. We would order from here again.

Veggie Wrap - Seasonal grilled vegetables, goat cheese spread, baby mixed greens, balsamic, spinach wrap
    John R.

Five stars for being a fresh selection of menu options. Being new they have some bugs to work out, but I'll touch on those within the review... Coming for lunch the VEGGIE WRAP - Seasonal grilled vegetables, goat cheese spread, baby mixed greens, balsamic, spinach wrap is really great. It doesn't appear on the dinner menu, but it does appear on the Grubhub delivery menu, so is it available all day long? I'm not 100% sure. Either way, the menu is broad enough to have several things I am wanting to try so coming here for dinner one night I had the "COSTELA VACA" BEEF SHORT RIBS - Flanken cut with soy+gochujang or chipotle+brown sugar glaze. I had no idea what "flanken" cut was but just rolled with the idea of giving them a try. It is not something I have seen before, but it worked out very well for dinner and is something I would have again. The bread served table side for dinner is a nice add to the lunch experience. Someone else at the table had the CRISPY SKIN SALMON - Cilantro lime rice, cucumber+feta+olive salad & grilled lemon and was very happy with it. (This is from a person who sometimes is turned off by fish dishes in general) Also, at the request of someone else I ordered a BRASA BURGER - 8oz brisket blend, aged cheddar, Caramelized onion-bacon jam, Blue ribbon sauce on a Portuguese muffin, and they rated it an 8.8 out of 10 which was quite a high rating for the large spectrum of burgers this person has tried. The BERRY-LICIOUS sangria with a Riesling wine worked out well for the table. I think they need to do a better job of describing the sangria experience for the table and also add this information to their website. At the moment I believe I only see a delivery menu on their site. Great if that is what you are doing, not so great if you are trying to figure out what your in person experience is going to be. Speaking of alcohol, they do have a selection of ATHLETIC BEER. Though described as non-alcohol it does have a small amount (less than 0.5% ABV) and never having had or seen it before it was nice to try here. However, served table side in a glass with ICE? No, please don't do that again! Another bonus for the place is a QR code for payment. No, you don't have to use it, but it is there, and I truly wish EVERY place would do this. HOWEVER, at least on an iPhone using Apple Pay (which seems to be the only choice given when bringing up the bill) Amex did not work for me. Selecting a Visa card in my Apple Pay Wallet worked, but something is quirky with the Clover POS they are using, and no, don't blame the customer for this.

BEWARE: This is page 6 from the ABC Beverage Control Handbook for Municipal Issuing Authorities.

Nice ambiance and although the food was really good, I cannot say the same about the service. This restaurant charges a corkage fee without having a liquor license. According to page 6 from the ABC Handbook for Municipal Issuing Authorities, what they are doing is illegal. When I challenged the waiter, the restaurant would not remove the fee. It's not the cost of the fee that is the problem for me. The problem is that this action is not legal. The restaurant clearly needs the $5 more than I do given how empty they were for a Saturday night. In addition, at 9:10pm we were handed the bill without being given a dessert menu. When I asked for one, I was told the kitchen closed at 9:00pm. Any other server would have come to the table to say "The kitchen is closing soon. Would you like to put in dessert orders?" Well, that did not happen here. Their loss because I know there is a lot of profit for restaurants in dessert and coffee. They were clearly more concerned about leaving as one of the workers started sweeping the floors at around 8:30pm. Too bad, they lost a potential regular patron.

I ordered the Grilled Chicken Wrap, which was excellent, packed with chicken and very filling. I ended up taking half home because it was both generous and delicious. The side salad was also surprisingly good. We ended up returning later for happy hour, which takes place in the room to the right of the hostess stand. I highly recommend stopping by for drinks and bites if you're in the mood for classic cocktails and solid food. Happy hour is first come, first served and limited to the bar only (around 15 seats total). We arrived right when it started, and when we left about 40 minutes later, the bar was about half full. I'd definitely come back to try their dinner or to enjoy their happy hour again.

There was a young lady sitting in the corner in the phone telling us that there were no seats if we didn't have a reservation. Not the most polite but whatever. We went back to the bar and got a table. Why are bar tables always so sticky?! Anyhoo, we just missed the Happy Jour menu but it was only a $1-2 discount (except for the burger: $4). Service was pleasant and attentive. The food was overpriced for sitting in a bar. $30 for a bowl of ramen! (I don't know how it tastes but it's $17 across the street.) $22 for a burger and fries! $10 for two little bao with a single shrimp in each! Ok, that's not too bad since Bao is generally overpriced for some reason but I could have gotten more than one shrimp. Unfortunately, the price did not reflect the quality. My friend who got the ramen said it was in the bottom 25% he's ever had. My burger was pretty good but the bun was toasted and brittle and made an unnecessary mess. The fries--personal preference--I don't like skinny fries. As for the bao, the shrimp was too salty. I liked the finishing salt but the flavoring salt was too heavy. Also, it was drizzled with aioli and I couldn't pick it up and eat it like the sandwich it was. Overall, a disappointment. Mediocre food and an elevated price for no reason.

The food is still great. We had scallops, chorizo, brussels sprouts, and a flounder ceviche special. Everything was delicious. The ceviche in particular stood out -- fresh, well-portioned, and nicely "cooked" in lime juice. The sangria is still a highlight too. A big carafe, no ice watering it down, served with glasses full of fruit. The problem is the service. They had two servers and one bus person, and it showed. Everyone seemed to be scrambling, and it was hard to get a moment of attention to ask for anything or even be heard. Our food came out in pieces -- three items, then a long delay, then another. The last dish, calamari, never came. When I tried to tell the waiter we didn't want it anymore if it was forgotten, he didn't listen and insisted on bringing it anyway. We ended up waiting even longer, which just made the experience more frustrating. To top it off, they're now adding an operating/service fee (around 3-4%), which wasn't clearly communicated and just showed up on the bill. It's disappointing because the food is still very good, but the service issues -- and now the added fees -- are taking away from the experience. After this visit, we'll think twice before coming back.

It was my first time doing karaoke and I honestly don't know that I would do it again. We booked a karaoke room for an hour for 6 people on a Thursday evening, and while the singing was fun, the service was below subpar. When we arrived, we did not have a full menu available to us in the room, so it took a few mins to get our order in. Our server kept close tabs of every minute in karaoke, but not the food. It took over 60 minutes to get our wings! Apparently there was some sort of mix up in the kitchen & while we were understanding, what threw us for a loop was that even though our wings were DELAYED, our server was hesitant to offer complimentary time in our karaoke room while we waited. Right at the 60-minute mark, he was quick to offer two options - our wings to go or a table in the dining room. In the end, we had to negotiate an extra hour in the karaoke room since our food took SO long to come out. When paying the check, we were surprised to see a charge for food we never ever received! I'm super disappointed that they tried to take advantage of us, when we were very understanding of their mix up. In my opinion, servers could use a lesson or two in customer service. Service was top-notch, folks came back to help us pack up extras and also check on us multiple times. Stopped in on a hot day, tried a bunch: Pitcher of white sangria was a lovely cool sip, just about right for four of us per pitcher. Tapas/apps: - Special baked oyster fondue was only ok (reminded me of Oyster Rockefeller but not as flavorful and the cheese was mostly on the plate, not on the oyster); they had 3 on the plate and they noticed and had them make up a 4th for the 4th person at the table. Great service for that notice and sending a fourth one out - good touch. - Papas bravos was a good fingerling potato in a creme - Grilled octopus was ok - Peruvian ceviche was a touch too sour for me, but others liked it - had another potato dish but wasn't sure what it was called; just ok Mains, also shared: - Short ribs rigatoni was good, but not as good as the one at Ferraro's that I had earlier in the month - Seafood paella - not sure if this is a regional difference, but I'm used to having the crispy rice along the outside of the pan, crunch and savory -- the inside rice and shrimp, sausage and clams were ok, but missing the texture expected of a hot pan of paella rice, so left feeling like I missed out of something Dessert - churros were solid, with dulce de leche - lava cake was ok, not much melting (more like a little chocolate melted in the center but not enough to ooze out), but the chocolate cake was good, and the vanilla ice cream to the top always a good touch - they had a special fruit mix in a pastry shell - good fruit mix and the ice cream below was good - pastry was just ok, maybe needed something more like a napoleon's layers instead of being like a fried skin which ended up being a bit stuck in the teeth Overall great service, a mix of dishes that sometimes hit the mark and others missed, but will come here to try some other dishes that people at the table next to us ordered - the steak looked good, as did the fish!
