Delicious Peruvian food. One of the best in the area. Recommend the tigers milk and lomo. Good portions and reasonable prices. BYOB

Vida Seafood Dish (Fried mixed seafood and ceviche). This dish is fireeeee!

This place is a hidden gem! The saying "Don't judge a book by its cover" applies here. It's a small place that can easily be missed unless you're looking for it. Cleanliness: I have been there twice and both times I've watched as the waitresses clean the tables and chairs thoroughly, followed by a quick sweep under the tables before each new guest. That gave us peace of mind for sure. Service: The waitresses were very kind. We aren't very familiar with Peruvian food (we always eat the same dishes) and they helped us choose a new "to us" appetizer they felt we would like. Which we ended up liking a lot. They checked in on us during appropriate times and refilled our waters. When we asked for the check it came quickly without us feeling rushed. It was a good experience. Meals: Appetizer: Yuca Huchaina (I totally spelled that wrong..sorry) fried Yuca with cheese sauce. It was delicious. Fried to perfection. We ate it all up embarrassingly fast. Hey, we were hungry lol! Drink: we tried the "Chicha" purple drink. Wow this was amazing. Yes it is purple! It is sweet and has a touch of pineapple in it. We opted to get a pitcher for the three of us. Vida Seafood dish- It came with ceviche, leche de Tigre and fried seafood mix. This dish was a big hit. My parents said they would order it next time. It hit all the things I was craving. I loved that I got the best of both worlds with half fried seafood and half ceviche (fish only). Ceviche and leche de Tigre was super flavorful with spices and lime. I got extra spice and it was perfect. I wanted to drink it right from the small bowl it was that good. My Dad ended up finishing my plate once I got full. He was super jealous of my plate haha! - Ceviche Classico- Also Flavorful and yummy. If you're super hungry this may not fill you up. Hence, why my Dad finished my meal but he loved it! I had this dish during my first visit. It was delicious. - Pescado Saltado...my Mom loved this dish. The fish literally falls apart in your mouth. Every piece was flavorful and drenched in the yummy sauce. It came with rice and French fries and plenty of fish pieces. Overall: I give this place a 5. What matters to us is quality and taste of the food, service and cleanliness. And they deserve 5 stars for Leche De Tigre.

Really good Peruvian restaurant and food compared to others in the area. This time I got the steak chaufa $14 (picture attached) and it was good, not the best. I usually order "Steak Lomo Saltado" and it's the best I have tried. Chunks of filet mignon tenderloins sautéed with onions and tomatoes, with rice and french fries. Recommended ! Recomendado!

Disclaimer. I am a Peruvian with picky taste-buds I am between a 4 and a 3 because of the ceviche. I tried the following: - Tiradito w/ Avocado = 4 stars - Nice taste and creative - Ceviche = 3 stars - it was watery - Papa Rellena = 4 stars - nice size and tasty - Causa = 4 stars - well executed. - Pezcado Frito = 4 Stars - Crispy and juicy on the inside. - Chicha (Purple Corn drink) = 4 Stars - made at premise - right taste balance

Small place on the main road. Food was great. Came out fast. Service was good. People are polite and helpful. Clean nice environment. They have a Tv they can turn on. You can watch a soccer game or YouTube videos they play. Not many Peruvian places around but this one is definitely worth a visit. Would recommend.

Out of all of them, this location has honestly been the one we've enjoyed the most and the one we keep coming back to. That said, over the past year or two, I do feel the food quality has declined a bit. I recently ordered the lomo saltado (the lower-priced option), and while the meat was flavorful and savory, there was a little too much broth, which made the fries and rice soggy. My husband ordered the tacu tacu with steak, but it felt like there were barely any beans in it. For the kids, we ordered salchipapa. They enjoyed it, but I was expecting the hot dogs to have a little more crisp instead of being soft. What keeps us coming back is the experience here. The restaurant is always clean, organized, and has a really nice ambiance. The staff is attentive, service is quick, and we rarely have to wait or follow up on anything. Their ají verde is still really good too. Overall, I'd say 3.5 stars for the food, but 4 stars for service, ambiance, and overall experience. I really hope the food quality improves because this location has been one of our favorites.

La Caravana is a small place right by the train station and post office. A beautiful mural of Machu Pichu inside. A handful of tables. Our food came right out. A whole roasted chicken. We took the plantains home to munch on later. A great meal for a reasonable price. Skip the supermarket and chain roast chicken. Take a drive to Plainfield.
