I've always come to Lickteig as an adult (previously the one in Natick) and have always found my experiences much better than anywhere else I've gone growing up! Plus the yearly optomaps are great to have for acute detection of any health risks or eye concerns. When I visited a few months ago for bad dry eye (successfully treated!), Dylanee (?) was so friendly and helpful at reception. Last weekend I went for annual exam for my contacts & glasses, and the receptionist was so efficient and friendly (girl with clear glasses and black hair). The salesperson took his time with me and never made me feel rushed when selecting frames. When it came to the lens selection, he was very detailed in his explanation of all of the options and costs. I was able to make a much more informed decision than what I'd been able to do at other optometrists in the past. My glasses were ready VERY quickly - I think it was 2 days! They made them right there on the premises. With Focal Point you are not dealing with a chain who has to wait for the manufacturer to make your lens and glasses. Overall excellent experience and I would say that the extra cost, for me, was more than worth it as being able to see clearly is not a luxury, it's a necessity.

The contact lenses were a nightmare! First contacts prescription was completely wrong. Could barely see with them. Went to an appointment to get them corrected but I accidentally forgot the lenses, asked if they could reset my appointment for any time later that day...NO. I had to wait 2.5 weeks to get seen again! At the next appointment, they "corrected" the prescription but it took them one month to have them available. Despite multiple inquiries about my contacts, emails and calls to their lens center, the contacts were sent to a different office, about 35 miles away! I asked if they could either transfer to my doctor's office or mail to me...NO! They insisted on a whole new order. Yet more waiting! They did expedite the order but the prescription is still off. I need to hold small print about a yard from my eyes to able to read it. There was no follow up on their part. Totally frustrated, I am going next week to a different doctor and company to get contact lenses that are supposed to be right for me! To add to the frustration and my negativity was that I was there three times a week asking for my lenses (only because my physical therapy was across the hall) and each and every time they asked my name (you'd think they'd remember after 10x, assure me that they would call me as soon as they would come in; when they eventually came in, nobody called. This time, they were actually running a 50% off special on some brand name glasses. We picked a pair and loved how it looked on my husband. Since it was 50% off, we couldn't even find a cheaper price online - believe me, I tried. I had expected the lenses would be outrageously price but they were actually quite reasonable. The staff took the time to chat with us about the different options and understood our needs. My husband got the new progressive lenses, which are apparently pretty top of the line and ultra thin. We just picked up the lenses the other day and my husband loves it. Everything was adjusted perfectly. They were even kind enough to adjust some other glasses we had around. One thing I love most about the customer service here is that they dont spread themselves too thin. When they are helping you, they are dedicated to it and don't try to take care of too many clients at a time, even if that means these new people who walk in have to wait.

I had an eye exam there in 2012 (new prescription and frames), 2016 (not enough change in my prescription so the doctor said my old glasses were fine), and 2022 (new glasses). I appreciate that the optometrist doesn't recommend buying new glasses when you don't need them. I also was not shamed for letting 10 years pass between eye exams. It was not an intentional wait, just didn't become a priority since my old glasses held up all this time and only recently did I start to get headaches which is usually my signal my prescription needs updating. Doctor was also reassuring that my optic nerves looked great. (I always ask because there's a disease that runs in my family that the first signs of can be optic nerve damage.) Pleasant surprise, my insurance covered the exam - no co-pay! I have Atnea which in my experience doesn't cover much.
