When I came in to pick them up they looked really small, like child size. I clarified that my son is not a child but a full grown man, and Boris assured me that they were exactly the same frames. I took them home and indeed they were much too small. Also my son tells me the other frames had springs so were more wearable. These were uncomfortable and just looked silly. We went back and very gently tried to explain that these were not the correct frames and that they did not fit. He got quite loudly and aggressively up in my face to tell me 20+ times that they were the same frames, that I could look at his records, and that my son had clearly grown, and it was my fault. No, my son has not grown in the last year. He has been this size for quite some time. I asked him to stop repeating that and just LOOK at my son wearing the clearly too small glasses. He acquiesced to bend the frames so while they still look silly, they at least do not hurt. Look, they are not the same frames. I am 100% sure of it. If he wants to think that I am just some crazy woman, then fine, but make sure I leave with a pair of wearable glasses and I'll be your customer for life. wtf?

As it happened while driving in bright and happy New England spring sunshine, I had to pull to the side of the road and dig out my emergency junk sunglasses that I had purchased a while back at some random 7-11 store *FOR* this exact reason. Talk about Deja-vu. I started looking for the closest Ray Bans store that I could drive to for free service and instead noticed a local optometry store literally a minute away. Since the desire was for a quick and convenient fix, I started driving their direction and was willing to pay for any services rendered. If you believe in fate like I do (just since there has been too many repeated coincidences to remain just coincidences), I was meant to find them today. Danielle greeted me with the friendliest smile and tone of voice the moment I walked through the door. She engaged me in conversation (that made me feel like a VIP) and quickly referred me to Felix, who was just as friendly and attentive. Felix fixed my glasses in less than a minute and was about to send me off on my way despite asking to pay for the service. He laughed and simply said, "I have a million of those screws and won't charge me for such a simple fix." This was when I turned back around and asked Danielle about their optometry services. I wanted to get another eye exam this year since the last one I had since moving here was...not particularly satisfactory in any way. Long story short, I was able to schedule an appointment next day and had a very thorough and fantastic eye exam with Denis, who ALSO was just as friendly as he was professional. Of course, if anyone knows me and glasses, it has never been about price. It's like the one gift to self that I look most forward to each year. This year, I really had something specific in mind that I wanted, which is to get a proper version of the cheap 7/11 spare glasses I bought back then when my Ray Bans first had issues. I loved the look. I loved the style. I loved the color of the lens. One hour later and after trying an endless amount of glasses, I found the right fit. Maui Jims. Surprise, surprise. Of course, this piece of junk copied something amazing lol. I picked it up a week after this exam and man, am I delighted. While they both look so similar, the "performance" is night and day. The clarity and the way it handles bright sun and reflecting light from cars and buildings...absolutely different. I don't even want to wear the Ray Bans anymore. My issue is with owner Stephanie Paris who is very rude and aggressive. The issue started with my contact lenses and they wanted to charge me extra to fix the issue. I was told I could find a new place to get my glasses and contacts after they wanted to charge me more. Stephanie is beyond rude and treated me very disrespectfully and also told me I was not able to speak with Kelly. She literally told me this. I would not recommend this spot. Also, when it came time for my $40 refund, I called and gave the front receiptionist my cc info to which I never got a refund. I had to call back again and the office claims I never called. They are spiteful and vicious and unprofessional. I've found a new spot in boston where I'm treated with respect and kindness. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of this spot.
