I like Dr. Elliott because she is honest and upfront, qualities you don't find a lot anymore. I had had LASIK in 2005 with a surgeon in mass, and I noticed things weren't as sharp anymore. I was worried, I knew the LASIK was not working anymore and I asked her professional opinion as to if I should get it fixed or not. She said that I had great sight seeing near and that if I opted for tweaking my eyes to see better far, it would affect my ability to see close up faster. I appreciated that. She also knew I was anxious - and they have tests where they quiz your eyes and I thought that maybe I had major eye issues because I would be asked "what number do you see in that box?". I didn't see any number ... so I'm thinking, oh wow my eyes can't see much at all. Dr. Elliott told me they utilize some trick questions for the younger kids, and that it was a trick question. I was relieved because I thought I was worse off than I really was! ;) The girls that work with you to get glasses for driving were amazing too. Very sweet and helpful. They took their time to see what looked best on you. You were never rushed. 5 stars in my book.

Their office, situated in a strip mall right off of 495 is in a convenient location. Although a couple exits away for me, it's easy off-easy on. Parking has never been a problem. There's a lot of activity in the plaza but spots generally open up pretty quickly. Inside I'd say it's a typical optometrists office. It's on the smaller side, but it's clean and the layout seems to work for them. Their addition of a children's section opened up more space. Their frame selection is meh. Not the widest selection, but I've bought a couple frames from them over the years. It's current and not terrible. When getting ready to book my appointment I was happy to see their addition of an online "request" option. I also liked the fact that you could see each doctor's hours, and the office they would be in. (They also have a Medfield office) But the system is less than optimal. Perhaps it makes it easier for their administration, but it doesn't buy their customers anything. On the very top there was a notice stating that they are booked through 'x', and that your request date must fall on or after 'y'. Makes sense. After I plugged in a date a few days after 'y', I was expecting/hoping for an automated approval of some sort. Nope, instead I had to wait until later that day to get a phone call explaining that they were fully booked, and there were no appointments available until a full week after the date I plugged in. I understand, as it's stated on their website, that the system was an appointment "request" book, but come on... what's the sense of going through the process of entering all of your info, only to have to make your actual appointment over the phone?.... And a week and a half after their website says times are available? Save your time, just call them to make an appointment. The doctors: I've seen both Dr. Gaan and Dr. D'Amiano. Both were super nice and had great customer/patient skills. I was very comfortable with them and felt my level of care was top-notch. I would recommend them to anybody. Where my patience has worn thin is with the folks that fit frames/order the lens. Today marked the 2nd time my lens were ordered incorrectly. The first was some years ago, where whatever was ordered was completely wrong. One big blur. Okay, mistakes happen. Today, it was the wrong type of lens. Now I get that waiting another week for them to correct their error isn't a big deal. But their laissez faire attitude and lack of remorse really turned me off. Attention to detail and going over things with the customer? Nope, not happening. In an age where most folks would love more business, this guy really seemed to care less about me. Perhaps I'll continue getting my eyes examined there, we'll see. But between their silly online system and inability to order the right lens, I'm not a fan right now. I'll most likely be keeping my eyes open (pun intended) for a new place for my vision needs.

They are never able to put our insurance through correctly and we end up being charged incorrectly. It's a waste of time and lots of stress and aggravation fighting this every single visit. In the end, they end up sending us a check or issuing a refund for incorrectly charging us. They insist they are right, but they never are. We have no problems with billing or insurance at other eye doctors. I don't know why they can't see our coverage like every other provider.
