Dr. Mackenzie Elliott is a great doctor. Their equipment is far more advanced I feel, than other eye doctors in the area. I like Dr. Elliott because she is honest and upfront, qualities you don't find a lot anymore. I had had LASIK in 2005 with a surgeon in mass, and I noticed things weren't as sharp anymore. I was worried, I knew the LASIK was not working anymore and I asked her professional opinion as to if I should get it fixed or not. She said that I had great sight seeing near and that if I opted for tweaking my eyes to see better far, it would affect my ability to see close up faster. I appreciated that. She also knew I was anxious - and they have tests where they quiz your eyes and I thought that maybe I had major eye issues because I would be asked "what number do you see in that box?". I didn't see any number ... so I'm thinking, oh wow my eyes can't see much at all. Dr. Elliott told me they utilize some trick questions for the younger kids, and that it was a trick question. I was relieved because I thought I was worse off than I really was! ;) The girls that work with you to get glasses for driving were amazing too. Very sweet and helpful. They took their time to see what looked best on you. You were never rushed. 5 stars in my book. read more

Went in for an annual appointment and was told because I had dry skin I need eye drops making it a "medical visit" that costs hundreds instead of what should've been free as I do not have any eye issues and my surrounding skin is just dry from the winter. Already frustrated, I call my mom to explain the situation to which the office eavesdrops and then starts yelling at me about my private conversation saying that they disagree with what I said. The doctor then comes out and also scolds me for saying the prescription is unnecessary which was VERY unprofessional and put me in an unncomfortable situation. No company should treat a customer like that! Save your money and frustration by going somewhere else. read more

Both of my boys went there for their annual visits, but unfortunately they did not have a good experience. The front desk staffs were unfriendly and the Dr (female) was very condescending, she did not even acknowledge my presence, she did not introduce herself, not sure if it was because we are black. I went in with my little one, the doctor did not even introduce herself and was very nonchalant with my 9 year old. I would not recommend this place. read more

I have had trouble with my eyesight for a few months now. I saw Elliott back in October to have my eyes checked. The staff was friendly, that's why I give two stars. I explained how my vision has been blurry. That it's been giving me headaches. They ran a few tests and told me all I needed was eye drops for my dry eyes. I consulted another optometrist for a second opinion and they were shocked that I was sent away with no prescription. After I saw Elliott, my mother told me she had a similar experience with them. As well as a friend of mine. I will not be returning to Elliott's again. read more

I've recommended Elliott Eye Doctors before but don't want to miss the chance to review them again. There's really no reason that an eye appointment during Covid would be delightful, and yet it was. Dr Mackenzie E was amazing- it was a quick visit but did not feel rushed. I probably tried on more frames than I needed to just to hang out with Amy Frederickson. Although Dr. Elliot appears to be a very friendly, well-trained Optometrist, I have had nothing but frustrating experiences with his office and pricing policies. I took my daughter for her annual eye exam and was charged ( I have extended eye coverage) for a contact lens fitting. He changed her lens type and that was the justification for the charge, I never asked for that, I just wanted to make sure her prescription hadn't changed. So, long story short, that office charges for unnecessary aspects of an exam. When all was said and done, I only had enough in my daughters account for 6 months worth of lenses. I want to also say that the staff is not very friendly or knowledgeable and the whole experience was frustrating. I come from a vast background in ophthalmology and have worked in a very hectic, four practitioner, office and was very put off by my experience with Dr. Elliot's office. Stay away! read more

I definitely had a very positive experience today at Dr. Elliott's office. Everything was efficient and easy, and the staff was informative. I found a pair of frames that I actually liked, which was an issue the last time I got glasses, having searched four stores before finding a pair. The best part was that they actually take my insurance, VSP, which has great coverage and isn't taken by those big companies that are owned by Luxxotica (who also owns EyeMed). I'm really happy about having found a great, local optometrist. I hope others follow the example of this store. My only problem with the Optical Shoppe is that Dr. Elliott is committed to multiple locations, making the availability of appointments limited, and scheduling an appointment difficult. This company came up in my insurance plan. So, I thought of giving it a shot to choose a pair of eye-glasses for me and my wife. After scheduling the visits in advance due to covid, the experience at this place was horrifying and would not recommend anyone to go here. They have lost me as a new customer and definitely all my referrals. We went to this place today during a snowstorm and were told to wait outside until called back. When i went inside and tried on few glasses with one of the office staff and decided on the one that I was about to buy but wanted my wife to opine on that as well. Her appointment was just after me. Another office person (dont remember her name) stopped by and asked if i had any questions. I told her i am close to finalizing a pair but want my wife to look at it as well.. She said that they have to reschedule my wife's appointment. I was furious.. on top of that, she said we were late inspite of we calling them at appointment time and were asked to wait as there are office patients inside the store. When i mentioned her that.. She told me that she heard otherwise. That was it. I left the store without any purchases. People in this office or any other office, i expect them to be courteous and professional. At least this one was not anywhere close. read more

What a zoo. The area was tiny and overcrowded. There was no room to stand let alone sit. Customers were two deep at reception counter, the few seats were taken and other patients were standing and pacing. In the middle were two harried tech displaying glasses to two customers crowded in this noisy, jammed little area. I waited a few minutes then left. This was at 12:45 on a Wednesday. I'm retired and could have gone any day, any time. Can't figure why they'd schedule me at this already overbooked time slot. read more

The eye appointment itself was fine, but the staff makes the overall experience unpleasant. I made the mistake of purchasing my frames elsewhere (although I purchased the progressive lenses from them), and it was as if I had offended them. They told me they were unable to adjust my frames...that it was physically impossible. I went to another optometrist who adjusted them within 5 minutes. My husband also had his eye exam here and bought frames. He has had to go back several times for adjustments and the staff each time has been condescending. Front desk staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Confirmed and explained my insurance benefits. I never once felt rushed in making the decision to change my eye glasses style. They gave me helpful feedback and acted more like a best friend than a drs. Office. Dr. Was thorough and made sure I understood what I felt/see in my eyes. Not only were they knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and friendly, I actually had a great time the two hours I was there. The doctor was ok. I feel like they ripped me off here. I can in asking for an eye examine. I don't have insurance. So with glasses and contact lens, They told me they don't know how much my eye examine is going to be. ??? It could be as high as 200 dollars. How could you not have a definitely number. Had an appointment at 10:45 but wasn't seen until 11:45. Doreen who was working at desk was asking for insurance information and as I was trying to explain that my insurance changed, she told me she didn't care. She took a phone call and told person on phone she couldn't help them. The waiting room was the size of a closet with only 4 chairs so people we standing around.
