Even though I did not buy the glasses there, they fixed them for free and, since I had just had surgery and it was hard to keep my glasses on, they gave me a nose guard to help. They gave it to me for free to try and would not take any money. Excellent service and fantastic people.

It's not a huge shop, but they have a great selection of frames. Classic? Trendy? They have them all. They're really good about letting you try on every pair of frames in the place. 10 times each. And being that I'm one of the least decisive people in the world, they're good at giving opinions on how the frames look with your face, and don't mind when you have it narrowed down to 2 choices, and just keep standing there going back and forth trying to make up your mind. Now, being a customer for as long as I have, and because one of the owners lives in the town where I grew up, and has a son who used to play basketball with my brother, I've gotten to know Tom. He's a great guy (Joseph and Kristina are nice, too, I just know Tom better). There have been a couple times where I had it narrowed down to 2 pairs of frames and couldn't decide. Because of all that history, or maybe it's just how they operate, he let me take both pairs of frames home with me to get the opinion of family and friends before purchasing. That's one of my favorite things about this place. Saved me from making the wrong decision a couple of times. Something happen that your glasses got all out of whack? Walk on in, and they'll adjust them for you. The personal attention and friendly attitude of all who work here really makes this place a gem. I've been wearing contacts for years, so I don't get new glasses as often as I would if I wore them daily. I've also moved out of the Milford area. But when it's time for me to get new glasses, I always go back to Joseph and Thomas.

The front desk staff have varied over the years, and sadly, the last batch appears to have been misplaced: They collectively (and individually) have the personality and dispassionate guest-relations skills of stereotypical DMV workers. No more warm, smiling genuine greetings upon entering the office :( It seems like since they remodeled the office, the friendly front desk staff disappeared. I've tried to engage in a warm connection with this new batch of grumpy greeters, but got the bored look of a gen z (or is it y? I dunno...) looking at 'this smiling old lady' who wants to make friends? I wouldn't be surprised if they rolled their eyes at me once I turned my back. I recommend mixing it up and also hiring mature font desk folks who've lived and seen a little life, who understand and appreciate the customer service includes exuding warmth & compassion and a true interest in the patients who spend their money there. I would not encourage anyone to purchase their glasses at this establishment, because the staff is seemingly not trained in sizing frames to the face. They don't appear to know how progressive lenses need to be fitted to the eyes/face, and they are definitely not skilled at adjusting the newly arrived pair of glasses to the ears and nose - I know because all three of them made the attempt and did NOT give me glasses that function the way they should. I have to use my hands to lift my glasses up so I can see things on my laptop. Sadly, It felt like once they receive payment, there's not much incentive to provide a functioning product? Hundreds of dollars down the drain.... During my short time in the room with the Doc, I mentioned the problem with my glasses, but just got a disinterested 'Hum' in response... She was already on to other things....

She really knows her profession from what contact lenses are available in what increments to educating clients on eye care. Although Dr. Waldorf is no longer offering appointments the business continues to grow and I am delighted to see the office will be undergoing a bit of remodeling shortly. This will allow a greater offering of eye wear and a nicer waiting area. Look forward to seeing the new space at our next visit.

The guy there was very curt with me, basically saying he didn't want to take responsibility for the glasses. I needed new glasses anyway but wasn't going to make an appointment at that point. "Hi I got my glasses here and.." "You did NOT get those glasses here" "I did....I got a new pair and..." "You did NOT get those frames from here!" "No, I got a pair of glasses and had the lenses changed in these ( taking off glasses to show him) I wanted to see if you could just tighten them up." With hands raised to his chest and palms outward he says "whoa, whoa, I don't know! You didn't get the frames here so you have to do it at your own risk...I mean the frames could crack...they could break and that wouldn't be our responsibility ." It was like I was asking for his first born child or something. He was so aggressive and angry about it. I said "What the f###!" Well that put him over the edge...he looked like he wanted to hit me. "Excuse me?!?!?" I said " I can't believe I paid this much for two pairs of glasses and your giving me hard time about tightening the frames." Granted, my bad for using the F word but after being interrupted twice and basically being called a liar from the get go and then the incredulous look and aggressive manner after I asked for what came for, I had had it with this guy." Target would be better served using this guy as a bouncer for people who try to come in without masks on...customer service is definitely not his calling.
