Made an appointment with Dr.Rebecca McLaughlin and was seen in about a week! The office is bright and sunny and super clean. Some country tunes playing in the waiting room and really friendly staff great you. Dr.McLaughlin was SO wonderful - saw me right on time, explained every step of the exam, and even helped me look up a new contact solution I was considering. So glad that they take my insurance (Harvard Pilgrim) AND they're just a few turns off of 395.

I was fitted for glasses with Michael, who was very knowledgeable. I ultimately made my decision after asking Michele, the receptionist. I like a woman's opinion, so sue me. (would be my fault for having expensive taste ;) So -- great Doctor -- but know your spending limits :)

A few day later I regretted not getting transitional lenses. Again, they fit me right in and in no time I had my new lenses. I cannot say enough positive things about Auburn Eye Center.

Turns out he gave me a prescription that was too strong! I called to reschedule within 90 days (within 30 days of getting my glasses). I was scheduled but unfortunately my babysitter bailed lats minute and my child was sick. I called the night before and left a voicemail and again the morning of. Even texted! I got a response via text that I would be sent a link to reschedule. I NEVER GOT THE LINK! I called multiple times to speak to someone to reschedule and left multiple voicemails. No one ever got back to me. I was finally successful and the girl "Julie" I spoke with was so NASTY! She goes "Oh you are the no call no show." I explained to her that I had called and texted and she refused to take responsibility. Even stated they never got any of my calls. I have screenshots of the amount of times I called. On the phone she told me my appointment would be the 21st at 1140. I got an email that said the 11th at 11. Strange. I showed up on the 11th and as i walked in, I received a second email asking me to confirm my appointment on the 21st at 11. I was furious. I came back on the 21st at 11. The second doctor was late but he was so kind and was able to fix my prescription. I asked the front desk for "Julies" name. The young girl stated "Well she's not even here." I responded, "That is fine because I do not want to speak with Julie because she is disrespectful." The girl laughed in my face and I asked fr her name in which she ignored me. I asked how i can report employees to someone and she provided me a card with an email address to which i did email. I walked out to LensCrafters who told me they were not sure if they could fix my lenses because I was 4 days past the 30 days. This was all at fault of Auburn Vision Associates. If this was my business, I would get new employees and if I owned LensCrafters I would evict Auburn Vision Assoc. and find someone else to do business with. Sad, sad sad.

I felt like I was more of a nuisance than an appreciated patient. He was curt and made me feel like he couldn't be done with the appt soon enough. I've never been this disconcerted at a doctors office before. Horrible vibe. In regards to the mask mandate, there is no state mandate in place and I am medically exempt from wearing a mask as they induce panic attacks. Panic attacks can cause you to cry and your nose to run. It would make NO sense for me to trigger this during an EYE exam when you're trying to keep people safe from these facial fluids in the first place. It's appalling to treat special needs people this way! Just because you refuse to read the updated peer reviewed studies on cloth and surgical masks and their ineffectiveness during this pandemic, that the CDC themselves cited, doesn't mean you can behave in such a discriminatory way. The CDC exempts those who can't wear them. Do better and be nicer to those who have special needs.

She even gave me a discount on the frames for pretty much no reason other than that my insurance didn't cover them until next year. Wish I'd caught her name so I could give her more credit for that. I don't get it. Why is the office staff not trained well enough to handle a simple rescheduling issue? When I dealt with my contact issues, I had to wait for a call back and it took 2 days! While surprised and put-off that a business would immediately threaten cancellation if I don't repeatedly answer a question, I appreciate the visibility that I couldn't previously glean, that this LC lacks organization, customer focus mission, and possibly employee engagement. I found my way to Yelp due to my recent interactions, and it looks like my experience isn't anything new. I accepted and agreed with their recommendations to cancel with a clear conscience. When I returned for a follow-up exam, after explaining what happened, The female who did the eye exam as well as the doctor said "These contacts do cause redness, but eventually go away". I know I should have been informed that I was going to have discomfort with these contacts. These are my eyes, and I should have the right to choose whether I want to cause myself eye problems. I had to wait for another option of contacts to be delivered to the store. I was not set up for a follow-up exam. The second pair contacts appear to be working out for me. I showed to the store to get a copy of the script. The script was handed to me and I left. I then tried to fill the script and the prescription was written incorrectly. In addition, it was written for no one to sell me contacts.
