Dr. Nguyen is the only doctor in my 30+ year history of messed-up eyes that has been able to "get it right" with my prescriptions. He's super patient and willing to try all kinds of tests and trial-and-error until he comes up with a solution. If you have anything out of the ordinary with your eyes, I highly recommend him. On the minus side - Dr. Nguyen's tenacity and perseverance when looking at issues comes at a price, and that's time. He spends so much time with me that it affects other customers' wait times. I've had a couple visits where I've had to wait 30 minutes, so I assume that this is the case for others as well. But to me the time sink is worth it because of the quality of the assessments. The weakest link here BY FAR has always been the receptionists. Over the years I've had several weird issues - One time the receptionist told me that the prescription I gave her over the phone "can't be right" even though I was literally reading the correction numbers on the boxes in front of me! They have gotten better over the years but are still a bit sloppy and disorganized. It's a shame because Dr. Nguyen is a 5-star doctor with 5-star equipment run by a 3-star staff.

They have no regard for the Optometric Oath and ultimately abandoned me as a patient (for no legal or any explanation as to why) putting me in harms way in terms of my health and safety and safety of others. I felt like I was more of a nuisance than an appreciated patient. He was curt and made me feel like he couldn't be done with the appt soon enough. I've never been this disconcerted at a doctors office before. Horrible vibe. In regards to the mask mandate, there is no state mandate in place and I am medically exempt from wearing a mask as they induce panic attacks. Panic attacks can cause you to cry and your nose to run. It would make NO sense for me to trigger this during an EYE exam when you're trying to keep people safe from these facial fluids in the first place. It's appalling to treat special needs people this way! Just because you refuse to read the updated peer reviewed studies on cloth and surgical masks and their ineffectiveness during this pandemic, that the CDC themselves cited, doesn't mean you can behave in such a discriminatory way. The CDC exempts those who can't wear them. I can't imagine another doctor complaining that someone with special needs made them uncomfortable. Do better and be nicer to those who have special needs.

Their office, situated in a strip mall right off of 495 is in a convenient location. Although a couple exits away for me, it's easy off-easy on. Parking has never been a problem. There's a lot of activity in the plaza but spots generally open up pretty quickly. Inside I'd say it's a typical optometrists office. It's on the smaller side, but it's clean and the layout seems to work for them. Their addition of a children's section opened up more space. Their frame selection is meh. Not the widest selection, but I've bought a couple frames from them over the years. It's current and not terrible. When getting ready to book my appointment I was happy to see their addition of an online "request" option. I also liked the fact that you could see each doctor's hours, and the office they would be in. (They also have a Medfield office) But the system is less than optimal. Perhaps it makes it easier for their administration, but it doesn't buy their customers anything. On the very top there was a notice stating that they are booked through 'x', and that your request date must fall on or after 'y'. Makes sense. After I plugged in a date a few days after 'y', I was expecting/hoping for an automated approval of some sort. Nope, instead I had to wait until later that day to get a phone call explaining that they were fully booked, and there were no appointments available until a full week after the date I plugged in. I understand, as it's stated on their website, that the system was an appointment "request" book, but come on... what's the sense of going through the process of entering all of your info, only to have to make your actual appointment over the phone?.... And a week and a half after their website says times are available? Save your time, just call them to make an appointment. The doctors: I've seen both Dr. Gaan and Dr. D'Amiano. Both were super nice and had great customer/patient skills. I was very comfortable with them and felt my level of care was top-notch. I would recommend them to anybody. Where my patience has worn thin is with the folks that fit frames/order the lens. Today marked the 2nd time my lens were ordered incorrectly. The first was some years ago, where whatever was ordered was completely wrong. One big blur. Okay, mistakes happen. Today, it was the wrong type of lens. Now I get that waiting another week for them to correct their error isn't a big deal. But their laissez faire attitude and lack of remorse really turned me off. Attention to detail and going over things with the customer? Nope, not happening. In an age where most folks would love more business, this guy really seemed to care less about me. Perhaps I'll continue getting my eyes examined there, we'll see. But between their silly online system and inability to order the right lens, I'm not a fan right now. I'll most likely be keeping my eyes open (pun intended) for a new place for my vision needs.

They are never able to put our insurance through correctly and we end up being charged incorrectly. It's a waste of time and lots of stress and aggravation fighting this every single visit. In the end, they end up sending us a check or issuing a refund for incorrectly charging us. They insist they are right, but they never are. We have no problems with billing or insurance at other eye doctors. I don't know why they can't see our coverage like every other provider.

All those things happened but they are not the fault of Dr. Perryman. I firmly believe the experience I had was due to staff issues and not him. I have never had a doctor reach out to me like that. I had been under the mistaken opinion that HE wouldn't allow me to cancel my order because the receptionist put me on hold for a long time and I thought she might be consulting him. That's why you shouldn't assume. Dr. Perryman is an excellent eye doctor. I was impressed by his people skills and the way he made sure I got the contacts that were right for me. I apologize to Dr. Perryman for my first review. He promised me he would work with his staff (I can't help but wonder if they get a % of money sold on contacts) to correct their practices. I have no doubt that he will. If I could delete the other review, I would.

I've found that most doctors lately rush through appointments and base their treatments on what is covered by insurance. Dr. Perryman took the time to explain my unique situation in terms I understood. He also is very kind and seemed interested in getting to know me personally. The experience reminded me of the small town doctors of the past. The office staff is super friendly and the space is comfortable. They even have free drinks and snacks which is nice. On top of that, he didn't try to hard sell me on purchasing glasses at the office but did explain that what they offer is high quality. I'm grateful to have this practice in town.

From my first consultation, throughout two cataract surgeries and subsequent follow-up appointments, I found Dr Keamy and her entire staff to be informative and supportive. Prior to my first surgery, Dr. Keamy explained in "layman's terms" exactly what the surgery would entail. On the day of surgery I was extremely nervous, however, Dr Keamy put me at ease and the experience was far less stressful than I had anticipated. Not only is Dr. Keamy a skilled surgeon, she is also passionate about what she does. My vision is far better than I expected and I am extremely pleased with the outcome. With absolute certainty I would recommend Dr. Keamy for any type of eye procedure especially cataract surgery. If I ever again have cause for eye surgery, Keamy Eye & Laser Centre is the only practice I would consider. Thank you Dr. Keamy and your wonderful staff for providing me with such great care.
