I have complicated RX for my glasses and if they are not sitting exactly right on my face I can get bruises and/or headaches, never mind not being able to see right. OV is where I go to get my frames adjusted. Karen is a miracle worker, as far as I'm concerned. Recently brought in two pair that were causing severe pain. I first came to Optical View back in 2013. I have bought two pairs of expensive glasses since. The Maui Jim's are great, but I would not buy Silhouettes from OV. Why? I love Silhouettes but the pair I bought from OV developed cracks around the drill holes and although Karyn replaced the cracked lenses, the drill holes in the replacement lenses also developed the same problem. 5 other pairs of Silhouettes I bought ('06-'19) from other retailers never had this cracked lens problem. So when I came in to speak to the owner, Karyn, today, to show her that the pair of Silhouettes I had gotten repaired by her less than 3 weeks ago failed .... the left arm fell off.... I thought she'd like to know about the problems i've had with Silhouettes bought and/or repaired by her store. She was pleasant but not interested in the least about my feedback. She did take my repaired glasses to the back and reattached the arm that fell off, to her credit. We'll see how long that lasts. Overall she is a pleasant lady but I have had significant problems with the quality of the glasses I've purchased or had repairs done on. I won't be coming back here. There are plenty of retailers who sell Maui Jim Sunglasses, and I'll shell out my $800+ for MG's with progressive lenses to a retailer who provides better service and quality overall. read more

FINALLY! both of my sunglasses are now filled with my prescription my Tomford Miranda is now my everyday and driving eyeglasses it allows me to still be glammed LOL and my Swarovski are my reading glasses because I love to read! Really disappointed by the high prices. I purchased the Amazon/LivingSocial deal ($50 for $225 toward prescription eyeglasses). I like my decade-old top-of-the-line pair of glasses that had cost around $300 with Flexon flexible titanium frames, progressive photochromic glass lenses, and anti-reflactive coating. I expected that a good pair of glasses would still cost about $300, especially after seeing basic progressive glasses being advertised at two for $180 ($60 each). When we arrived we looked at some flexible titanium (similar to Flexon) frames and all had very 'short' lenses (narrow top to bottom) and therefore not a good style on me. Had to move away from the flexible frames to find a style that I liked. Then I asked about the pricing. The polycarbonate photochromic progressive lenses with anti-reflection coatings were $550! Adding to that the $150 for the frames brought the total to $700 so even with the $175 coupon it would come to $525 out-of-pocket. I decided not to go through with the purchase. I think I will send my old frames off for new lenses. The online prices for new top-of-the-line polycarbonate photochromic progressive lenses with anti-reflection coatings seems to be about $250. Add to that the write-off of the $50 coupon and I still save over $200. I think the prices at Optical View are a little out of line, at least with my expectations. read more

I wrote a very positive review after I got my new glasses in January-- now I'm back, with another example of why Optical View is the best. After an embarrassingly short time, I managed to scratch one of my lenses, right in the center, of course. I lived with it for awhile, but at times I switched to my old glasses. Not long ago I decided to call Karyn and find out if I could get one lens replaced - and how much would it cost? Well, I forgotten this, but OV protects your glasses with a one-year warranty -- so there was no charge! She ordered the new lens and when it came in, I dropped off my glasses overnight and the next day they were looking like new again! This is customer service at its best! read more

They saved me from being the wrong Rx! A good selection and a good eye for what frames will flatter are nice (and they have both), but I'm now totally loyal because I almost got glasses that were too strong. I'd picked out frames, and we were about to order when she noticed that the change to my script was significant. She ran in the back to get some sample lenses. I couldn't read! I went back to my doctor to confirm. She had to redo the script. If I'd ordered those lenses, I'd have spent a fortune (my lenses are pricey because they require fussy bits) on lenses I couldn't use. I've gotten two sets of glasses at Optical View, and I'm thrilled with the quality and styling of both. They have lasted the test of time. I highly recommend them. read more

When nice isn't good enough...but high quality product and outstanding customer service are! Shopping at Optical View makes me want to purchase new glasses more frequently. First, Optical View has the best selection around (and I went to SEE in Hvd Sq, some fancy-schmancy place in Chestnut Hill, and about 3 other places before deciding to purchase). If you want really unique fun styles, or classic frames, this is the place to go. I was very torn between 2 pairs, and finally ended up with the coolest frames ever- orange and green, super-funky. Meanwhile my husband's taste is a little more reserved, and he upgraded from his wire-rimmed to a more modern, but still conservative style. Price: Optical View was consistent with other vendor's pricing, however, they carry lines that are hard to come by in the chain stores like LensCrafters. OV gladly gave us a receipt to submit to VSP which got us $145 each back quickly and made our purchase of 2 pairs at the same time much more affordable. Customer service: I have to say that so many places I shop these days have lost any sense of customer service. NOT so at Optical View. Karyn was fabulous and made sure that an accident within the first month that cracked my husband's lense was covered by warranty. And when I couldn't adjust to progressives, we worked out a plan to cover new lenses for me. She was all about options and asked what I wanted, rather than limiting my choices. And through it all, she was patient and clear on instructions and expectations about the new lense style. We've referred many friends to Optical View in the past few months, and gladly promote Optical View's product and services. It's worth the drive if you are coming from Natick, Sudbury, Wellesley, Newton, or surrounding towns! So, yes, Karyn is nice. Go say hello, and get quality glasses and great service, too. read more

I bought my first pair of eye-catching glasses from Optical View in 2006 and wore them out. I loved those glasses and got MANY compliments for them. YES, I paid top dollar. And It was worth it because I wear them every day on my face. Glasses are my window and eye-curtains to the world. Then, I turned to online glasses. They are cheap, in price and style. NOTHING has ever matched the quality and style I enjoyed for 5 years with my original glasses that Karen helped me pick out. I went back to Optical View, splurged and LOVE MY GLASSES. So I picked up my glasses on Monday. They were ready before the promised date. Once again, Karyn greeted me with a friendly smile and a warm welcome. She brought out my new glasses and they were so incredible. They fit perfectly and I was out of the store in a few minutes. Before I left, Karyn gave me cleaning cloths and a solution to clean my glasses along with advice on how to keep them looking brand new. Again, I appreciated the personal attention. I came here with a livingsocial deal and am very pleased with the results. There is a very wide range of prices/quality of frames, and so many options. In fact, there are so many options that I was able to find an equivalent but cheaper version of the glasses I had initially picked out. My glasses AND lenses came out to just $35 with the coupon (so $85 total) and are fantastic! The woman who works there is also very nice and helpful - I especially appreciated that even though she is losing money on some of the cheaper purchases (like mine - in which she only gets $60), she did not push or pressure me to pay more for add-ons like the anti-glare finish (which is apparently very nice but which I didn't really have the extra money to pay for). I think the review who is upset about having to pay $200+ is a little unreasonable considering $500 for a pair of prescription sunglasses doesn't seem too out of the ordinary (you won't really find polarized prescription lenses alone for under $250 anywhere). You can't really get a livingsocial deal and expect it to pay for the entire purchase - especially with something like prescription glasses that often cost far more than $250 regardless of where you go. read more

I really miss Dr. Michelle (Straube); she was the best; but this a wonderful business that I've been going to for many years. The staff is very professional - from the beginning to the end; answering any and all questions with patience and courtesy and understanding. They physicians are the same way. The business hours are very convenient. Because I have a 9-5 job and work Mon-Friday, it's extremely helpful that they have Saturday hours. First, the customer service was awesome. I looked through and tried on nearly every pair of glasses in the store and nobody treated me as if, I was trying on every pair of glasses in the store and making a mess, like I have experienced at a previous chain eyeglasses store, which I will never go to again. Second, when I finally decided on my selection, Karyn was right there to help me, and very honest about which glasses she thought looked better on me. I was due for new frames and had trouble finding anything I'd actually wear since I'm on the line and can do everything but drive without my old ones. She was really friendly and no pressure or "upgrade them with this or that." This place is great. After visiting every eyeglasses store in the metro west and finding the same old boring frames we saw this place on route 9 and dropped in to check it out. Their selection was impressive and very "stylish" you could say. The woman who helped us was friendly and didn't try to put any pressure on us to buy anything. It probably took two hours to make a decision (there's a lot of choices) and I ended up getting a decent deal on a pair of prescription sunglasses. We will defiantly be going back. read more

Last summer the arm of my glasses broke off and I really didn't need a new pair of glasses,but all the retail chains I went to told me that they could't be fixed and I would need a new pair of glasses to the tune of upwards of $450.00 Then I happened into Optical View, and Karen looked at them and told me that they possibly could be fixed.They were sent out and fixed for $60.00 What a bargain Thank you Karen Just recently I tripped in the living room and my glasses had a fight with the sofa and were bent way out of shape to see correctly. Over the past 5 years I've bought 4 pairs of glasses and one pair of sunglasses. At each visit Karyn has been extremely knowledgeable in what looks good on me and what type of lenses I need. Not once did she push me towards anything that was either over my budget or necessary. Her customer service is one of the main reasons I keep coming back. The choices of frames is the other reason. I know that I am going to get the cutting edge fashion in glasses at a reasonable price. As for the quality of the frames - they are outstanding. I get constant complements on all of my glasses. While there are a number of good glasses stores where I live, I specifically drive from the North Shore to Framingham to just to shop here for my glasses needs. I bought a livingsocial deal for the optical view. It seemed like an awesome deal at the time ($225 toward a pair of glasses for $50), but I went to pick out the glasses today and discovered that I had no such luck. I went in for sunglasses only to find out that they had no frames that fit me for less than $150 and that sunglasses lenses are $280 (for polarized lenses). I asked if they had other lens options and was told they did not. All in all, I ended up laying out $280 for my sunglasses-- without the livingsocial deal they would have been $455. I feel completely mislead. Maybe I would have paid $280 for sunglasses at my regular eye dr, but the point of the deal was to try to save a little money, not to have to take a drive to a new place only to discover I would be completely overcharged. Honestly-- who charges $280 for lenses alone?! Note that this was for a single prescription (no bifocals or anything fancy). read more
