I work in the area and called because I was having trouble with a lens replacement for my prescription frames. I didn't know what to expect for such a small service but was hoping that I could get some help without having to buy a repair kit, struggle to fix myself, and end up going to a professional anyhow. Weston EyeCare was very helpful on the phone and when I arrived later that afternoon, were able to assist perfectly. I hate relying on services for these kinds of tasks but the only thing that makes those situations worse is when the person you've gone to for help makes it clear that they aren't happy about assisting with such a mundane task. Here I was greeted and serviced tremendously and not made to feel like a burden, despite not arriving with any intention to make a big purchase. I went into Weston Eye Care for the first time to look at frames for new glasses. The selection was so nice. I originally thought I wanted frameless glasses because they are so lightweight, but frameless did not look great on me. The sales associate Victoria helped me greatly by recommending that I try on several styles based on the style I had hoped to see myself in (for reading glasses). The pair I chose from Modo was in a terrific red-violet tortoise color at the front and a red-violet titanium frame. They are lightweight and beautiful and look really nice. I am going this place two stars, but I considered giving it one star to be honest. I scheduled an appointment early this morning, when I arrived I filled in the paper work, and after an hour of waiting I was told by the doctor (after I went to ask her) that she was not told about the appointment and that I would not be seen today. It was a huge waste of time and no one said anything to me. The doctor was disrespectful and rude. Service at a place like that should have a strong emphasis, and the doctor failed at that. However, the actual store was cute. They had an excellent array of frames, and the workers were very nice helping me find a pair of frames which I would like. read more

I had a fantastic experience shopping for glasses at Weston eye care. After my last pair of glasses mysteriously got themselves lost, I was pretty devastated knowing the cost for a comfortable yet stylish pair of glasses. Enter livingsocial, which is basically the only way I can afford anything in this city. Serendipitously, Weston eyecare was the featured deal of the day. I called ahead to make sure they had the certain type of ray ban cat-eye frames I was lusting after, and they did! I bought the deal asap and planned my excursion to lovely Weston. When my boyfriend and I arrived at Weston eyecare, we were immediately greeted by a man named Dmitry who was fitting another customer for glasses, and we decided to poke around the store until he was free. Sadly, the frames I really wanted were no where in sight, and when he was finished with the other customers, he told us that they didn't carry that type of frame and that I must have been misinformed on the phone. I was a little upset, especially since I had called ahead, but he assured me that he could order them for me and they would be there within a week, and for my trouble he would include a discount. I told him that I would be using a livingsocial deal, but he said he would tack the discount on to the price regardless, which was I thought showed truly great customer service! Dmitry kept me informed through very polite emails and was happy to inform me a week later that my glasses had arrived. I went back out to Weston to try them on, and, alas! They were probably the most unflattering glasses I have ever tried on...seriously, I looked like a bug! But it was no problem at all, since they had a fairly extensive collection of designer frames (ranging from $100 to $500), I soldiered on through the disappointment and ended up finding a beautiful pair of Vera Wang frames they had just gotten in last week. I am so happy with my purchase, and really stunned by how awesome and accommodating the service was at Weston eyecare. In short: a very wide selection of frames (the shop is small, but don't be fooled: they don't waste their time stocking lame frames), they are very current and on trend with the latest designers, and it was some of the friendliest and most personal service I have received since moving to Boston. read more

I'll start off by saying Dr. Zhou seems like a great doctor. He was very thorough with my exam and I wound up with a contacts prescription that works much better for me than ones I've had before. Unfortunately, I have to give give a one star review, however, because the people in this business do not understand how to read and bill for insurance benefits. If you come here expect to pay out of pocket for things your insurance covers. And if you go in and explain to them how they've billed you incorrectly expect them to put up a fight and insist they were correct. We've been using this same insurance for years and they're telling us it works differently that every other provider we've been to. I even called my insurance to triple check. When I called back to explain once again that he was wrong and my insurance confirmed it he finally accepted and asked me if I wanted to come back and pick up my order. If you don't know what people's benefits are how can you be billing them at all? And they are in in-network provider for this insurance! If you've gone here and used insurance there's a very good chance you payed hundreds of dollars out of pocket that you shouldn't have paid. Additionally, remember to ask for receipts and a copy of your prescription because they won't provide you either. read more

The good thing is that the glasses I got here are good. But I will not return to this office as it impressed with poor service overall. Details: 1). I provided insurance information a week prior to the appointment. However 30 minutes prior to it I received a call from them, asking for the info again. And throughout the visit they were hassling with it, although I had perfect insurance. During the eye exam the optometrist and the front desk person kept exchanging about the insurance. Needless to say, everything was fine at the end, they probably needed to do all that verification work in advance. 2). The air conditioning was off on a hot July morning. It was hot inside. 3). During the appointment the optometrist kept texting on her phone between giving me commands. Grossly unprofessional. Overall her attitude was nonchalant. 4). The equipment was old, not state of the art. The letters to read would not change - they did not have that working. 5). After all those eye drops and other manipulations I suddenly felt weak. The heat and the lack of AC made the matter worse. There was no place to lay down! They turned the AC on and I regain my shape in a chair. But the lack of basic amenities in a medical office was startling. 6). The manner and attitude of the employees were substandard. It was shocking to experience talking back and carelessness in Weston. After two weeks of waiting I got my glasses, and they work well. But the same result can be obtained without experiencing disappointing service. There are many eye care shops to chose from, I do not recommend this one. read more

Dr. Mark was incredibly friendly, informative and helpful as I wanted to update my prescription for clearer distance vision. I have a double astigmatism and I take my glasses seriously-this is the highest level of service you can expect for eyewear. When I first came in, I ordered a beautiful pair of Burberry glasses-the special thin lens that they recommended me did not scratch at all in four years. When they finally broke, the guys helped me out with a loaner frame while my glasses went in for repair. This is not the first time they have helped with an eye emergency! I cannot speak highly enough of the the service I received here. I came in just planning to get a feeling for what was available but not intending to buy anything that day, but the selection of frames was of such high quality and Dmitriy was so incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and genuinely friendly (you can tell when someone is a "people person" and when someone is just going thru the motions), that I very quickly decided not to buy only one but two pairs of glasses (one casual, one more dressy), and within a week thereafter to have him replace non-prescription lenses in my sunglasses with prescription polarized lenses. I never felt pressured or that he was trying to sell me more than I wanted to buy, and he matched the % discount I could get at the hospital where I am on staff. I was surprised to see some of the less than positive reviews on this business. I went in at the end of August for a eye exam. I was acknowledged right away and waited maybe 5 minutes tops to see the doctor. The doctor was extremely thorough making sure I understood what she was doing every step in the process. After the exam, she gave me the option of wearing contact lenses (something that was new to me) She took the time to show me how to use them and watched me do them on myself to ensure correct application. After the exam, I was assisted by Dmitry ( I believe) and a woman who listened to what I was looking for in style and showed me great options for new glasses. They have a wide selection and are very knowledgeable. I never felt pressured to buy one brand over another and they never tried to upsell me on things I didn't need. At checkout they helped me get the best deal possible on the glasses and the contact lenses. I am very pleased with my glasses and the level of service. It was also nice to go to a place that I felt really wanted to give you the best deal possible. While maybe you can find prices more competitive in other places, I doubt those places give you the level of service provided here. Sometimes you get what you pay for.
