Yet Another Happy Customer…read more I have EasyTwist frames made in Port Royal, QC. Other optical shops told me I needed new frames and refused to grind lenses for my discontinued model. I suspected they were just trying to extract more money from me. So I did my homework. I checked out the Randolph Engineering website and decided that if I did need new frames, I wanted Randolphs -- they have that classic aviator look I love, and they're built to last. I figured that any optician who carried Randolph frames probably cared about quality and precision. Then I read the reviews and found Ronald Reisz. He's a traditional optician in the best sense of the word -- highly skilled, sourcing lenses and frames from top suppliers, and taking the time to properly grind and finish lenses (something chain stores don't always do anymore). Reisz examined my EasyTwist frames and said, "EasyTwist frames are tanks." He assured me they were still in great shape and was happy to reuse them with my new prescription. The results are outstanding. His fees are absolutely fair. He's not the cheapest option, but he's the right option if you want precision, craftsmanship, and lenses done properly. Why does this matter? I have a friend who had major issues with her glasses until an optician of Ronald Reisz's caliber figured out the problem and reground her lenses. That's why I sought him out -- and now I understand why his reputation is so strong.

Talk about Deja-vu. I started looking for the closest Ray Bans store that I could drive to for free service and instead noticed a local optometry store literally a minute away. Since the desire was for a quick and convenient fix, I started driving their direction and was willing to pay for any services rendered. If you believe in fate like I do (just since there has been too many repeated coincidences to remain just coincidences), I was meant to find them today. Danielle greeted me with the friendliest smile and tone of voice the moment I walked through the door. She engaged me in conversation (that made me feel like a VIP) and quickly referred me to Felix, who was just as friendly and attentive. Felix fixed my glasses in less than a minute and was about to send me off on my way despite asking to pay for the service. He laughed and simply said, "I have a million of those screws and won't charge me for such a simple fix." This was when I turned back around and asked Danielle about their optometry services. I wanted to get another eye exam this year since the last one I had since moving here was...not particularly satisfactory in any way. Long story short, I was able to schedule an appointment next day and had a very thorough and fantastic eye exam with Denis, who ALSO was just as friendly as he was professional. Of course, if anyone knows me and glasses, it has never been about price. It's like the one gift to self that I look most forward to each year. This year, I really had something specific in mind that I wanted, which is to get a proper version of the cheap 7/11 spare glasses I bought back then when my Ray Bans first had issues. I loved the look. I loved the style. I loved the color of the lens. One hour later and after trying an endless amount of glasses, I found the right fit. Maui Jims. Surprise, surprise. Of course, this piece of junk copied something amazing lol. I picked it up a week after this exam and man, am I delighted. While they both look so similar, the "performance" is night and day. The clarity and the way it handles bright sun and reflecting light from cars and buildings...absolutely different. I don't even want to wear the Ray Bans anymore. After the exam, I was told I would only receive my prescription if I purchased lenses directly from the provider. When I refused, I was denied my prescription, pressured into a $700 rigid contact lens, and told I would no longer be accepted as a patient. My $200 exam fee was refunded, and the service was terminated instead of providing my prescription. I was also denied access to my medical records. This situation raises serious concerns under the FTC Contact Lens Rule, which protects patients' right to receive their prescription after an eye exam regardless of purchase. I have filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Massachusetts Attorney General. The contact lenses were a nightmare! First contacts prescription was completely wrong. Could barely see with them. Went to an appointment to get them corrected but I accidentally forgot the lenses, asked if they could reset my appointment for any time later that day...NO. I had to wait 2.5 weeks to get seen again! At the next appointment, they "corrected" the prescription but it took them one month to have them available. Despite multiple inquiries about my contacts, emails and calls to their lens center, the contacts were sent to a different office, about 35 miles away! I asked if they could either transfer to my doctor's office or mail to me...NO! They insisted on a whole new order. Yet more waiting! They did expedite the order but the prescription is still off. I need to hold small print about a yard from my eyes to able to read it. There was no follow up on their part. Totally frustrated, I am going next week to a different doctor and company to get contact lenses that are supposed to be right for me! To add to the frustration and my negativity was that I was there three times a week asking for my lenses (only because my physical therapy was across the hall) and each and every time they asked my name (you'd think they'd remember after 10x, assure me that they would call me as soon as they would come in; when they eventually came in, nobody called. What a waste of money and time!!!
