On Wednesdays, I help my 95 year old friend get around. He is a WWII and Korean was veteran. Recently, he sat on his glasses. Today, I took him to the nearest eye wear location and picked Studio Optics. Within an hour, they had popped the lenses back on, reattached the side pieces and cleaned everything. This was quality service with a smile. Thank you. read more

I have been coming here for years , The staff is super friendly. The doctor is excellent . She. Always goes above and beyond for all her patients . They will accommodate you if they can . You can't get this personalized service , from an online store. The prices are excellent . They share a big parking lot with other vendors so no worries on parking. read more

Trying to ascertain an eye doctor from my Cigna insurance is like pulling teeth and this was one of the few eye doctors I could find that didn't have a three month waiting list. This location is tucked inside a Trader Joes shopping center and is quite a small place, a bit cramped, with one optometrist and loaded with all sorts of displays and two front employees. The doctors office was a bit tight, again, loaded with equipment, but she was very nice and knew her stuff and I was in and out in a jiffy. The two ladies in the front were quick to help me with frames and lenses ordering and knew what they were doing. They added in my insurance and saved me some bucks and I was in and out in 40 minutes. Definitely a good place to stop and quicker than a long drawn out Lens Crafters experience. read more

I called and explained that I had a sliver of wood stuck in my eye from cutting some wood with a saw. After asking what insurance I had I was told to come on in and the doc would see me. After coming in and then going through my insurance company to figure out how to bill me (for about 15 minutes) I asked the simple question to the doctor before walking back, "can you get this out of my eye? Do you have a power flush?" The answer was no. They could look at it. Tell me my eye was red, Bill my insurance and send me somewhere else. Clearly common sense did not tie the day here. Maybe they were more interested in keeping Billings up than serving customers? I'll leave that determination up to you. However I wasted about 30 minutes and was no closer to resolving the problem with my irritated eye. read more

Excellent service! Best glasses I've had in years. The optometrist and her staff filled a tough-fit prescription for a pair of Silhouette rimless glasses using my existing frames, fitted with a new lens shape that required several prescribed coatings. The nice optician Aya got a custom lens edging for a soft finish, and she requested special grinding to minimize weight and thickness. My glasses were a rush order... deadline met! To top it all off, my new insurance was found and applied for asses at a very reasonable price -- less than 1/3 of a comparable pair at Lens Crafters a few years ago. I am impressed and will return to Studio Optics when I need more eyewear. read more

The Dr is awesome, she fixed my glasses for free. They take mass health and do kids..

I had gone here for the past 15 years or so. Expensive but conveniently located. In the past few years the product quality has completely deteriorated. On both of the last two glasses I bought here, the lenses never fit properly into the frame, even after they were re-done. Furthermore, even though I always get the best lenses that would last 2-3 years, the last lenses seemed to have no scratch resistance and deteriorated within a couple months. I'll never go back. read more

Went in on Saturday to get some prescription sunglasses....or so I thought. Picked out frames in about 45 seconds - loved the third pair I tried on. We went through the options on lenses and my insurance and I paid for the glasses. Not a bad price. But as I was leaving, they told me that my prescription wouldn't work with the options I chose - the frames were too curved and I'd need to select a different type of lens, one not covered by my insurance but only $38 more. That's fine. My eyes are terrible, and added expense comes with it. HOWEVER, after charging my card for over $200 in total, I got a call three days later saying they can't make my glasses. The lab got the order and said it's impossible so I need to pick another frame. I'm not going to have time for a couple of weeks, so I asked them to refund my card. This just shows me that they don't know enough about their products. They sold me something, told me I needed to buy something else to make it work, then told me I needed to buy something else entirely. So they're down one star. They gave me a little pushback when I asked to be refunded in full. The Doctor said she'd have to check with the lab and see if they made the lenses yet. I told her it didn't matter, that they didn't deliver what I paid for and demanded a refund whether they made them or not. I did get the refund but was miffed they even suggested I'd be on the hook. read more

Extremely bad experience! I am not the kind of person who love to complain and leave bad feedback. But, this really drove me crazy... As the guy mentioned before, the Doctor there was very rude! She didn't explain anything in detail and just wanna finish the order and let you go ASAP.. That's not the worst part. When I went there this January for new contacts and I never used the contacts before, I was examed as -2.25. But she put -1.25 contact lenses in my eyes which I didn't know. It was my first time to use contacts and I told her it is very blur and i can't see things clear. Guess what. She just told me it is normal and I would see things clear after I get used to it. Then she just let me go. After I drove back home and re checked those samples she gave me. It was -1.25!! So I called them and drove back to get it right. Not end! After I tried -2.25, I also tried -2.0 but felt -2.25 was better. I told them to order -2.25 for me. But after a week, I picked them, went back home and found they were -2.0. F**! So I went back again telling them that I ordered -2.25. Still not the end!!! 10 months later, I put an order on CVS to get my new contacts. I left my doctor info there. Guess what? I can't get it processed. Because the stupid Doctor still claimed my prescription is -2.0!!! Gosh!! Never and never ever go to this store again!! Shame on them. read more

I've been here about 3-4 times because I live nearby, but never again. Dr. Willinger is extremely rude and tries to sell you whatever she can and use up as many of your insurance benefits as possible. She will not explain anything in detail, and is very short with her answers to your questions about your prescription. Their glasses and contacts are both overpriced by about 10x what you should pay. They were also extremely annoyed when I asked for my PD because I didn't actually buy glasses from them. I went twice, and then when I took my girlfriend, they tried to get her to use her contact lens benefit from VSP along with the wellness exam, even though I specifically told them not to. After this, they gave her a different looking prescription than mine, and when I asked why mine had more information on it, they insisted it's just as good; even though it clearly looked different. read more

Been going o Studio Optics in Framingham for many years. The customer service, scheduling, exam and production time has always been great. I have significant astigmatism and progressives so my frame and lenses need to be spot on. Any discrepancy and the world spins. They help me choose the right frames for my rx and I have never been disappointed. Their Covid-19 protocol is also great. read more

Rude staff and horrendous service. Store is cramped and dated. Showed up with my appointment and insurance information and was told my insurance does not cover prescription glasses. Went down the street to their competitor and they happily took care of me with same insurance. Stay away! read more

Like someone else said, shame on me for not doing my research first. I ordered a pair of glasses. It took double the time to make them as I was told. More importantly, the progressive lenses were focused incorrectly, so I had to purchase a second pair from a different store. The owner was rude and passive-aggressive, not willing to fix the glasses more than once, despite them messing up the progressive measurements. I had a different optometrist confirm that error. I ordered high-index top of the lenses. 600 dollars down the drain. If I had the energy I would fight to get my money back. Do yourself a favor and find a different store. The sales people were very friendly and helpful, but ultimately could not be of help as the money decisions are made by the owner read more

The good about this establishment is that they can squeeze you in for a last minute appointment and able to get you in and out during your lunch time. The bad is that Dr.Willinger behaves very sensitively regarding the insurance topic and gets defensive when you ask questions on the itemized receipt. In addition their frames are a bit out of style and overpriced. read more

Great selection of eye-wear and very helpful staff. I've been going for about 5 years now and have always had a good experience. The staff go out of their way to be helpful. I have vision insurance and other optometry stores in my area either don't take the insurance or act annoyed when they do. Studio Optics has always been happy to help me with my insurance benefit. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it is far from where I live....I wish there was a store with comparable selection, service, and price closer to town. read more

Went in for an exam and new pair of glasses. The exam was okay, but didn't use a sunburst chart, which I thought was odd since my issue is astigmatism in one eye. A week later, the glasses arrived and I went in to try them on, and everything was blurry and making me nauseous. Their answer was to just wear them for a few days and I'd adjust. I've never had to need that adjustment period before, and since the prescription was only a minor change from my old glasses, I didn't think one would be necessary now (I frequently go without glasses, also without a problem). The last time I got glasses, several years back, I had a similar problem and it turned out the lab had screwed up making the lenses. My previous eye doctor was very helpful and patient, double-checking the prescription and even setting up an adjustable pair of trial lenses (like a portable phoropter) which didn't have the problem, suggesting that it was a lab screw-up. Not at Studio Optics. Even when I mentioned that previous experience, they were condescending and said that I should just put up with the nausea and it would go away. I refused and they finally said they would have the lab recheck the lenses. Two weeks later, I haven't heard anything, so I call the store, and find out, oh, yes, the lab *did* make a mistake, and made a new lens. But it arrived scratched, so they sent it back to be remade. Another week and no word - I call again, and they say the lab is just finishing up, and it will be another week. So, it's been a month. I still don't have my new glasses. I'm highly skeptical of both Studio Optics and Dr. Willinger's competency. I'd suggest going anywhere else. ----- Update: I went to another optometrist, and found that Dr. Willinger's prescription was significantly off for both of my eyes. I'm very fortunate I didn't wear the glasses from Studio Optics or I might have permanently damaged my sight. read more

Charged a ridiculously expensive copay when there was none required. Never have paid a copay before with the exact same type of appointment at a different optometrist. This is the way they get their money--by hitting people with copays for charges that should be otherwise covered and then lying about it. A shady, weird place. Customer beware. Don't go there--PLEASE. read more

I just got my new prescription sunglasses today, and I AM IN LOVE! I recommend Studio Optics 100%! I have been seeing the doctor here for a while now, the people are very nice, and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my eyes. The location is PERFECT because it is right next to Trader Joe's, so you can do some shopping, and then get your eyes checked. The wait to be seen is never outrageous. During the exam, Dr. Willinger knows what she is doing. She doesn't waste your time and is very straightforward, and I have never experienced any problems with her. Then when you look for frames, the major PLUS is that they actually take the time to help you find the perfect pair of eyeglasses. I am VERY indecisive about which frames to choose, but the workers give you honest feedback about which frames look better, rather than just trying to sell you anything! Sometimes even the doctor will give her opinion! I love the honesty and relaxed atmosphere of Studio Optics, and the prices are very realistic for the selection of designer frames like Prada, Juicy, Dolce & Gabbana ect. Definitely visit this place and give it a try! read more

Good service in shop, large selection of great glasses, but the optometrist is very impatient during the exam. The glaucoma test was very painful for me, and she hurried me along and admonished me for wanting contacts someday. My main issue with them is that they never called me when my glasses were ready. The receptionist swore she left a message, but I never got one and they never tried back. They've been sitting there for over a week and they never thought to call me a second time? read more

Very satisfied. Came in with a prescription from my optometrist, found the exact frames I was looking for and hadn't found elsewhere. Staff was extremely helpful, helped with my insurance coverage, and I got my glasses in only a few days. They did a good job making sure they fit properly. As for the lenses - just what the doctor ordered!. My son has used them too and was also very satisfied. read more

I was specifically told that my vision had not changed and that I would be able to wear the same prescription I was wearing before (I brought in a pair of my unopened lenses along with the box it had originally come in). So the optometrist took my order and happily told me that they should be arriving at my house in about a week. I happily went off to run my regular errands the rest of the day, somewhat satisfied with the overall experience. Fast forward more than two weeks later, and I still did not have my contact lenses. Confused, I contacted Studio Optics explaining my situation and I was told that I was mistaken. Apparently, they had given me a new prescription to try and that I was supposed to come in myself a week later to tell them that the contacts were fine and THEN they would order my lenses. I told the optometrist that she had specifically told me that my prescription had not changed and that she would place an order that day. She made me pay for all my lenses after my appointment too! She then proceeded to check her records and told me that she actually gave me the same prescription as before, and that it was my responsibility to come in a week later to tell her if they were comfortable to wear. I always thought that if that was the case, they would want me to schedule a follow-up appointment with them before I left my appointment. Didn't they find it strange that I didn't bother to contact them for over two weeks and that they didn't have a follow-up appointment scheduled for my in their system? Also, why would you take all of my money to order an annual supply of contact lenses when I needed to come back for another appointment? In the end, I just requested for her to place the order since my prescription was the same and have it delivered to my home. I will definitely be looking for another place to go to for my annual eye exams. read more

I just have to say "shame on me" for not reading the reviews before heading there. Because they were one stop shop that my insurance recommended, I made an appointment. It was at the end of the day and the Dr. was in a rush. They upsold me glasses and services, instead of saving because the insurance, I end up paying a lot and going back and forth with the extras. They were supposed to call me when they were ready, but they didn't it. After 3 weeks, I called (their hours are not convenient) and I was told that "they left a message but no answer", Ok, explain how to leave a message but nobody answered the phone? I checked my call log, nobody called. I was not given paperwork at my visit either. I hope at least they get the prescription right. read more

Came here to find new frames for my daughter. We already has the prescription from her optomotrist. Dr. W. doesn't seem to care and just want to get eye exam done in 5 minutes so she can go out of the exam room to sell, sell, sell. Frame selection is very limited but I was fortunate enough to find one that I was ok with. It's a very expensive place. I would say easily twice what you can get elsewhere. I have a pricey pair of glasses that I invested in back in Dec 2001. I love them - very light, barely there metal frames that are well made and never go out of style. They were expensive but they paid for themselves many times over. I've taken good care of them, they've never been broken, and I still wear them to this day. Until! My RX finally changed, though only by a hair. I tried to find a pair of glasses with coupons or insurance incentives, but nothing - nothing! - compared to my good old pair. I would inquire about getting the lenses swapped out but was told it wasn't a good idea, the frames might get broken in the process (you assume all liability!) or that it would be a good 2 week turnaround "so you should have a back up pair of glasses". (I do.) Or the price! There is a disincentive pricing for trying to swap out an old frame as opposed to just getting a new pair. $300+ for new basic distance lenses in MY frame? Geez! So I did my research, I went to 4 different places total on Rt. 9 in Framingham for quotes. I was hesitant to go in here due to the other negative reviews. Glad I decided to make my own opinion about Studio Optics. Everyone in the shop was perfectly pleasant. Swap out lenses? Sure, no problem. No hard sell, no scare tactics to upgrade. Under $200, done in just under 4 days. The result has been 100% satisfaction. I am so happy I stuck with my old frames. Hopefully I can get another 15 years out of this RX! read more

Well the doctor was very nice to me. I told her I had an eye exam a few days prior from a Navy doctor and I wanted a second opinion. They ran a ton of tests. Hopefully I'll be seeing my new glasses in a week. read more

I have been going to Studio Optics for several years since my company switched to VSP insurance. I am so disappointed that I have come here more than once. Today will be the last time that Dr. ever sees my face in her office, I will take my money elsewhere. She is extremely pushy and won't take no for an answer. My appointment was at 3pm today and I got there early. She took me at 2:45 and I was done at 2:55!!! I was there only to get an eyeglasses prescription and because my contact prescription was expired she felt the need to just do both without my permission. I said I am only here for an eyeglasses prescription because I have plenty of contacts left and she says, "we are going to do both now" Talk about a serious rush through. I asked her a question and all she said was, "your eyes look fine." She pretty much shoed me out of there. I'm sorry, but if you don't like your job, then do something else. No wonder why every time I go in there, there is literally no one but me. Sad, isn't it? read more

Wonderful experience with high quality eyewear as well as service! Very pleased with every pair of progressive eyeglasses (about 3 over 3 years) ... and eye exams were accurate, helpful, delightful and very professional. My daughters (teens) had eye exams- but were fine - did not need any eyewear. My husband gets his contacts from Studio Optics for the past 4 years and is very pleased with the prescriptions and contact. There is never any pressure to buy glasses as my prescription had not changed but I just LOVE the glass frames and splurged on myself in getting the glasses. Feels as though the doctor is connected to our family and what is best for us - Highly recommend Studio Optics in Framingham, Mass for the entire family :) read more

If I could give a zero I would. I have gone to this place for years and my last visit was the worst by far. I will not be going back as well as my daughter and husband. The service is horrible now. Not sure what's going on. During my visit I was left waiting in the chair while she took other calls and helped ppl in the store. If I make an appt I want that time devoted to my care not everyone else's. This time not only did she charge me my co-pay and eye insurance but she sneakily went behind my back and charged my health insurance for the same visit!! I was livid! Im sure I'm not the only one she has done this too. When I called to confront her she was very very rude and yelling at me that she'd give the moment back to my insurance. Really? Now it's my fault she charged me twice for the visit. Her response was well they paid it. Yeah and so did I since I then got a bill for my deductible!! It was an awful experience and unethical. Apparently she can charge your health if she knows your social # so be careful. That one visit could be charged by her to both of your insurances! The fact that she tried to get away with something so unethical is reason enough for no one to ever go there again. In the end she screamed and yelled at me and I was the victim! She made it seem like it was my fault. My health insurance got the money back but only after I had to go through weeks of numerous forms to get it back and calls for hours about it to the insurance and her. Awful awful experience read more

Make sure that the equipment has been recalibrate. This is required annually for legal and obvious reasons. Last time I was in there, the eye assessment machine hadn't been serviced in 2 years...might explain why my mother had the complete wrong diagnosis (yes, not just prescription but diagnosis)...Not just an incorrect prescription she had been writing for 2 years, but she gave by mother unnecessary anxiety when she told her that she had possible retinal cancer... after seeing an ophthalmologist, he diagnosed her with the wrong prescriptions for over a year causing severe aggravation....two years later with the right prescription and my mom sees fine while rocking her glasses....don't go here. read more

Dr. Willinger has horrible communication skills in general and has failed on multiple occasions to give sufficient information about my exam or vision in particular, even when asked. She is curt to the point of being almost entirely uncommmunicative and did not reply to my pointed concerns regarding my eyes and vision in a way that that was sufficiently responsive or even seemingly interested on her part. Her staff seems to exist solely to upsell expensive products while failing to inform you about features that would be entirely covered by insurance. I went in for my last appointment and was rushed through in under ten minutes. When my new glasses came in, I couldn't see through them and said so. The staff told me I had an astigmatism (something I've never had) and that I'd get used to the glasses. When I said I'd never had an astigmatism and it was strange that Dr. Willinger didn't mention that new, considerable change in my vision at my examination, the staff tried to redirect my concern and gaslight me by convincing me there was nothing wrong with having an astigmatism and that lots of people my age develop them. Being skeptical, I went to a different optometrist for a second opinion. After a very thorough examination at the other doctor's office, I found out I was misdiagnosed at Studio Optics. I do not have an astigmatism and my reading prescription has not changed. I read as part of my profession and I'd sooner pick up OTC readers at CVS before I'd ever return to Studio Optics for prescription glasses. Definitely NOT anywhere I will trust with my vision care again. My new optometrist is communicative, listens, and actually performs an exam instead of trying to refine an automated test as quickly as possible and shove me out onto the sales floor. read more

Doctor Willinger is very experienced and manages to get me in and out in a fraction of the time the big chain stores can. She is willing to answer questions, introduced me to progressive lenses and also the idea of having a pair of glasses just for computer work (pretty much essential if you do a lot of computer work and need progressive lenses). She also knows the limits of my eye plan and always seems to have my records at her finger tips. Eye glasses at Studio Optics are not inexpensive, however, they are high quality and have outlasted every other pair I have ever had with none of the problem I used to think were typical (i.e. lens pop outs, etc.); which I think is a reflection of the high quality you get when you are willing to pay a little more. read more

I have been getting my eye exams and glasses here for about ten years now and have been very happy all around. Dr. Willinger has been very knowledgeable about matters relating both to my eyes and my glasses, and willing to take the time to explain options, the prices involved, and her opinion on how valuable various choices may or may not be in my situation. She is quite sensitive to the costs involved and makes it so that I'm comfortable asking about prices of various possibilities. Not a terrible experience, but I wish I'd never left my old eye dr...she did get my prescription right (which is important because I've had Drs in the past get it completely wrong!) Where my problem was I asked her about something another eye dr had told me about one of my eyes, I have virtually no vision in one eye and my last eye dr told me why, so I asked if she could look in my eye with a light and confirm what he told me (needed to looking into the back of my eye) and she said ya ya I will, but never took the time to do it. She rushed me while I was trying on contacts for the first time (hello, nerve wracking!) and had zero sympathy from my nerves. Also another big big no no- she didnt wash her HANDS before putting contacts in my eyes, ok she literally ran her hands under the faucet for 2 seconds and then dried them, ummm that is NOT washing them, I almost told her to wash with soap before she touches my eyes...took 2 weeks to get my glasses as well after they said it would be a week (that was only after I called twice asking why they werent in)...so needless to say, I'm going back to my old eye dr (only switched bc of insurance)... read more
