It is a very rude and disrespectful. I went with my daughter, and want to pick a pair of glasses for my daughter. They refused to help. They said our glasses are least $400, please think about it. I was so shocked! My husband purchased the glasses there a year ago, so I definitely know the price of their glasses. I walked in because I want to buy glasses, but they refused to provide the service. They judge people by how they look or what they wear or their race. It is not acceptable! Left after ten minutes of monotonal interaction and a definite sense I was not their demographic, and within hour I'd bought what I was looking for at a competitor about two miles away. Honestly, the worst experience I've ever had buying glasses. I came to Lunette because they carry the lenses I was looking for. However, their prices are very high when considering the quality of service provided. For a pair of their store-brand ('Mora') frames and Zeiss Rx lenses I paid nearly $900. That is more than double what I've ever paid for a pair of glasses--so you'd think they'd be good, right? Wrong. When I picked them up, the associate made some adjustments to the frames. However, they adjust your glasses in their backroom, which means you can't see what they're doing--or if they possibly damage your glasses while adjusting them. I'm not suggesting my glasses were damaged, but it's something to note. When the glasses were handed back to me and I tried them on, I asked the associate to adjust them again to make them straight on my face, and to tighten them a bit. Instead, she insisted they were sitting properly on my face. I had to ask for a case, and was given a Lunette-branded cleaning cloth as well. I received nothing from the lens company, such as a cleaning cloth (that has happened at other optical shops when I've purchased other name-brand lenses like Crizal). In the end, the screws on the frame were loose when I got back home. I then had to make another trip to the Hingham location to re-adjust my frames. In Hingham, they were able to tighten the frames a bit more, and the associate who helped me immediately noticed the frames were crooked on my face. Though they did a better job than the Dedham shop, tightening screws on the frame that Dedham had left loose, the frames still aren't quite sitting straight. I'll have to go to another shop to hopefully remedy this. I've gotten much better service at LensCrafters. And I've gotten better quality frames - better adjusted frames anyway - from Warby Parker. For the price I paid, I expected attentive service and glasses that are properly adjusted, neither of which I received. Coupled with a restrictive return policy, I would advise prospective customers to shop elsewhere. read more

We had a really interesting 5 minutes in this store. We quickly walked in and then abruptly walked out feeling like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. I described what I wanted for glasses to a nice gentleman, and was basically told to look around as clear plastic frames were difficult to find in the store. My mom found a pair that she liked for me, and we were told those were high end and we asked how much and were told $1000. My mom said "oh wow, $1,000 for clear framed glasses." To which a very crass woman behind the desk said "that's not expensive for those kind glasses." Moral of the story- I would have been willing to spend $$$ for the right pair of glasses. My husband bought $800 titanium frames at Lunette Optics 12 years ago, and he was told he had a life time guarantee. One arm would not bend as of 12/21, and sadly he died in 1/22 , and we wanted to donate his glasses. The salesman at LO said there was no such thing as a life time guarantee; who told us this (12 years ago). He said he would fix it, but there might be breakage-- fine. A small charge--fine. Upon returning, he said the nosepiece (not attached or impacted by the arm adjustment)had broken. I just wanted them in the condition they were in when I brought them in. $225 to repair what he broke was testily insisted on by the owner, now THE force to be reckoned with. After a heated discussion which included my friend who is also my lawyer,we were denied and left annoyed and will never go back or recommend their store. read more

I feel I must warn future Lunette customers not to get caught as I was when I purchased eyeglasses and prescription sunglasses there recently. I was made aware that I could exchange any eyeglasses within 10 days if I was not satisfied with them. I made 3 visits to Lunette, spending about 30 minutes there each time. At no point was I informed that only one exchange was allowed. Instead, their "great" exchange policy was pushed each time. I was not completely happy with my sunglasses so on my second visit, I exchanged them. Again, no mention was made that I had used up my one exchange even though the clerk knew I was on-the-fence about this second pair of sunglasses. Again, their "great" exchange policy was pushed. When I went back a third time to exchange this second pair of sunglasses, I was told I was out of luck--despite definitively announcing when I picked them up that I might be exchanging them soon. At that time, neither the clerk nor the manager, who was sitting right there, set me straight. Now I am stuck with an EXTREMELY expensive pair of sunglasses because I was not believed when I told the manager I was not made aware of their policy. I don't want this to happen to anyone else who shops at Lunette so I have some important advice for you. People, do yourselves a favor: get thee to a Warby Parker store as soon as possible. You'll find frames so stylish they will blow you away, prices so reasonable you'll think you're dreaming, excellent customer service, and a limitless exchange policy. I could go on and on. Don't waste your time (and money) at Lunette. I only wish I knew about Warby Parker before bringing my business to Lunette. I am very sorry I did. read more

The worst customer service, the manager Bryan was rude, they only care about maximizing revenue for their shop in any way they can and they don't care about customers as long as you pay them for anything they ask for. The worst experience we had. They should be coached how to treat customers and how to provide a great customer service instead of just thinking about money!!!! Bryan just reached out to me the next day to notify me that the owner has decided to terminate my relationship with the practice based on my review and refund the insurance last year benefit!!! Lunette Optic is great! Juliana helped me with booking my appointment and finding the right pair of eyeglasses. She was very patient as I tried on a lot of frames. Plus all frames were set aside to be cleaned after. I loved that idea! I was comfortable with how clean and sanitary everything was, and I felt safe being in the store. I've had approx 4-5 eye exams here. The doctors are great and I really like Dr. Rahiman! She had given me a prescription for glasses. I spent some time with a really nice sales associate in September looking at glasses. She called my insurance and assured me I was covered by a significant amount ( I have excellent health insurance). I couldn't decide on the glasses I wanted so I came back with my husband to help me decide today (10/10/15). There was a different very rude sales associate today who told me that they definitely do not take any instance other than eye med and something else. I told her the other sales associate had spent a lot of time in the phone calling and confirmed that it wouldn't be a problem. She completely dismissed me and wouldn't even check. I was so angry I left and won't be going back. It's horrible to be treated in such a way. read more

We had a fine, pleasant experience getting our eyes examined... The problem came with billing. I had an appt a year ago that was completely covered by insurance. My wife went last week and Lunette had stopped using our insurance, but did not tell her so instead stuck us with a very high bill. What an awful business practice. I would highly recommend against going to them. Even when they say you are fully covered there is a good chance they are wrong or just don't care. UPDATE: I just went to another optician and I found another flaw of Lunette: My new doctor pointed out that my insurance covers my two boxes of contacts. Lunette charged me $120 for these. I went to Lunette Optics last week to have the arm of my husband's glasses bent back into shape, so I could donate them as my husband has recently died. They originally cost $800, and although we bought them 12 years ago, these titanium frames were guaranteed. " Oh, no," I was told, "Who sold them to you?" I just wanted the arm re-bent. When I went back to pick them up, willing to pay a nominal charge if so required to, I was told that they broke the nose piece, rendering the glasses useless, and for $250 they would repair them. A nosepiece adjustment was not needed as no specific wearer has been selected--just the arm. "If you broke it, you fix it, " is the usual protocol. If you go into a store and break something, you buy it. They would not budge, nothing conciliatory, just, "We have you on video warning you of potential breakage" for the arm perhaps, but the nosepiece? Seems like an unethical practice. I had deplorable experience at Lunette Optics. They are THIEVES and BOLDFACED LIARS. I WOULD VERY STRONGLY NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. My eye exam is covered by my health insurance but they still insisted I give them a credit card to run "just in case " I bought 2 pair of COSTLY LIMITED EDITION OLIVER PEOPLES eyeglasses from them years ago. I came in to have new progressive sun glasses lenses. He didn't have the right samples in the draw so he ordered a sample blank. They have the color from my last pair ON RECORD. They wanted good faith deposit of $200.00 But the sample came in gray. Then he showed me other glasses can get these other colors from another vender. He then told me that they could never get me a matching color because the vender changed. I asked for my deposit back and they said all deposit are nonrefundable. No one said a word about that. I would never pay for a meal before I had eaten it. Considering the lenses were going to cost over $700.00. So I received a letter from bank for disputed charge. The paperwork they sent BOA said that I received the lenses and never returned them. I had signed nothing. They told BOA that they replaced my lenses which is a complete fabrication. I called BOA and they are escalating my claim. Their prices are WAY OUT OF WACK. AND THEY PUT THE HIGH PRESSURE TO UPSELL YOU ON STUFF YOU DON'T NEED. I am contacting the BBB and the ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE TOMORROW. ILL BE GOING TO OLIVER PEOPLES IN BOSTON WHERE THEY DO HAVE THE RIGHT CHOICE OF COLOR LENSES I NEED. DON'T EVER CONSIDER THEM. Great selection of high end glasses, costing many hundreds to thousands of dollars. I guess because they are so high end, they think they will magically snap on your head with no adjustments. Picked up a pair and it was obvious they expected me to put them on and head for the parking lot. When I indicated they needed some adjustment, there was a hint of surprise. They were quickly adjusted and and I was on my way. I have had far better service at places selling glasses an order of magnitude cheaper. Nearby LensCrafter offer great selection and great service. If I am paying that damn much for a pair of glasses, I expect great service and zero attitude. read more

My friend and I were at legacy place, having a great time and walked by Lunette optics. They sell designer sunglasses and prescription glasses. The displays were colorful and looking through the front window the customers seemed to be relieving individual help with finding their products. We walked in and were immediately greeted by a friendly blonde woman who seemed eager to help us narrow down what it is we were looking for, and honestly we were not sure yet. We decided on a case with aviator ray bans. There was quiet a selection! The sales woman picked out three pairs she personally liked and we decided on a polarized blue tinted pair, she fit them to his face, and put them in a case with cleaner and a microfiber wipe. If you are going to stop by be prepared to spend a good amount of money but the product is worth the money!!!!!! I'm very pleased :) read more

Great doctor but they only carry expensive frames. I had my eye exam done and I am really happy with the doctor (Michelle?) who gave me a thorough thorough exam, and listened to the problems I had. She gave me a good analysis and recommendation. I can't praise her enough. Now the frames was a different problem. They have a modest selection of frames but they were all expensive. I was looking for an modest pair of glasses but all the options they had was going to cost me $300+ with a good vision plan discount. I looked at several brands but they all fell into this price range. When I asked for something less expensive then $460 pair of glasses to my friendly sales person , he cheerfully shrugged and said this is probably the least expensive option I had. Without an insurance, you will spend easily over $500 or more on glasses. (Less with insurance but depends on your coverage). Perhaps they were pushing for more expensive pair as I had good insurance. If you are looking for modest priced glasses this isn't the store. ($300, not counting eye exam, without an insurance). If you are looking for specific brand and spending $500 or more is OK with you then this store is fine. If I fell in love with glasses, I wouldn't have problems paying for it but nothing in the store really appealed to me. read more

Outstanding customer service! I spent months trying to find the perfect pair of glasses. When I finally found the pair worth splurging, I made the purchase. After wearing them for two months,they kept fogging up on me. I tried to make them work because I loved the frames so much but the problem did not go away. When I brought them back and explained the situation, Denise and Ted could not have been any more understanding. They offered to let me select a new pair,but I really wanted the frames I picked. Ted offered to replace my lens at no extra charge with anti fog lens. He also offered to let me select a new pair if this did not solve my problem. After wearing my new lens for a month, I am thrilled that it worked! Ted even followed up with a phone call to make sure he fixed the problem. There was no wait and the entire staff was very friendly. The eye doctor was great too. She was very thorough and and answered all of questions. Because of somewhat peculiar vision needs (I am farsighted as well as over 50 and in need of distance as well as reading glasses - add to that an astigmatism), I have always struggled finding glasses that fit and that I could actually see through without distortion. I need progressive lenses. I've had so many bad experiences I actually get a stomach ache when the time comes to get new glasses. I can't say enough great things about Lunette! Dr. Michelle Rahamian checked several times to make sure my prescription was correct. She was wonderful in explaining everything to me. She also took all the time I needed to answer my questions. I have visited both the store in Boston's financial district and Lunette in Dedham. I have had nothing but excellent, well-informed service from every employee. I feel like they treated me like a friend, not a customer. And they aren't afraid to give you honest opinions. (SO hard to decide on frames - they have so many incredible options.) Ted is my "hero" in fitting. My glasses need to sit "just so" or I get distortion. He is amazing and certainly knows what he is doing. Are they inexpensive? No. But is my vision very important? Yes. I'm willing to pay a bit more for something that my daily existence depends on. And I am so grateful to have found this optical shop. read more

I called several stores to see who carried Lindberg frames to find out if they had a particular semi-rimless frame I wanted to look at. None of the stores in the area carried the frame but a few were willing to order it so I could try it. Lunette Optic is the closest store to where I live so I was hopping to order it from them. I was informed by the clerk that they charge a nonrefundable deposit to order frames that could be applied to anything in the store if I did not like the frames but I would forfeit the deposit if I bought nothing. One of their competitors, who is about 20, minutes further away than Lunette was willing to order it without a deposit. After talking to the clerk about this at Lunette she went to the owner who refused to waive the deposit fee and said I would be better off shopping with their competitor. Very pour customer service from Lunette and I would not shop there in the future. I did go to the competitor who ordered the frame, I did like it, and bought two complete sets of glasses from them. Lunette lost a potential customer over their deposit rule. read more
